I bought a few books here, and then immediately regretted it. The woman behind the register was fine, but the other woman (possibly owner?) refused to make eye contact as I browsed the store for a good twenty minutes. However, she did have the energy to follow me and peep over my shoulder from time to time. I’m good on this place. My first and last time in that store for sure.

So genius to have installed an automatic sliding door for people with strollers! and a nice pretty selection of cute special occasion clothes for babies and young kids. I also took note of a good selection of Jellycat plushies and loved discovering the cool sketch drawing board gifts. So if you’re in the area and need last minute baby shower or birthday gift you’ll probably definitely find something good here. Things are of course a little pricey but it’s Brooklyn :) and at the end of the day your kids or your nieces and nephews are young and little only once.

second time coming to this store. the first time was as same as the second. no greeting, no friendly vibes, just rude. the stuff there is way too overpriced (even things you'd think would be $5-10 is suddenly $35) 0/10 wish i had something nice to say

The staff here is incredibly rude, and it seems I’m not the only one who has encountered this behavior. I came in to shop for a few outfits for my nephew, but the woman at the register who appears to be there all the time was downright rude. Her tone when responding to questions is completely unnecessary, especially for someone working in a small children’s boutique with a customer facing role. I have no desire to ever step foot in that store again. Unless they change their staff, they will continue to lose customers because I’m clearly not the only one who has had a bad experience with this salesperson.

I can’t say enough good things about this small, woman owned business! I live in an area with very few shopping options so I do most of my shopping online. I stumbled upon Picnic, Brooklyn while searching for a specific Jellycat bunny. I placed my order and received an alert in less than an hour that my package was in transit. It arrived in two days!! I was so pleased with everything about my experience. They have a fabulous and unique selection, quick shipping and lovely packaging. Needless to say, I have ordered from them several times since! I’d like to give a special shout out to the store manager. She has gone above and beyond to answer my questions and make me feel that I am a valued customer. Thank you PICNIC for being AMAZING! A++++++

Love this place. Great selection of children clothes, accessories and holiday assortments. I even find things for myself. Who doesn’t need some bunny ears or birthday signs? My nieces love it because I got it from NYC.

I came in once with my 2 yr old and possibly one of the rudest staff. Since I live in the neighborhood I wanted to give them another try. Same experience and I will never be back bec the staff is just so rude and was not any help. When I asked for certain things they were short with me and did not help me at all. It’s nice that there’s a kids store a block away from me but I just don’t feel welcomed there. Looks like I’m not the only one who had experience with the rude staff. Will def not recommend and will travel to go somewhere else.

Just a simple “Hey it’s tough to get the stroller past there but you can park it in front and keep browsing.” There is no reason to be so rude to your customers. I don’t understand how you expect single parents to be able to shop at your stores. Your customers ride in strollers: accept it and help us out a tiny bit. Needless to say, I had such a bad taste in my mouth that I immediately booked it out of there and bought something that I had seen from another retailer online. Just… don’t go here.

Wildly overpriced merchandise and rude staff. We have bought a couple of items here and it's consistently been an unpleasant experience. They seem really put upon when customers come in with their children. Their loss. They could do much better business with a more welcoming and accommodating attitude.

The staff is very rude. There weren't any signs that stated no strollers. I purposefully look for this because I have a double stroller for my 9 month old and 3 year old. Anyway, not even a hello but a "that stroller has to be parked outside, it's too big" I completely understand if I ignored a sign or the store was packed and I couldn't move around or was blocking the way but none of the above and she was super rude. Unfortunately, this store would never get my money. Right before the person was so rude I had a sunglasses in my hand to purchase. Congratulations, you've lost a customer....on Mother's Day too.

What an awesome children's clothing & accessory store!! Having an immediate need for a swim suit for a four year old who doesn't like to try on clothes is, in itself, something of a challenge. But combine that with a Grandma (me) who has been sick and doesn't quite feel up to the fitting process can make it a daunting prospect. Picnic made the challenge a breeze. Not being satisfied with the children's shops I had previously frequented, on the way home from Preschool I pulled into street parking in Cobble Hill and searched Yelp for nearby stores. Then I used Yelp to call and inquire about the product and size I wanted. The employee at Picnic was warm and friendly. Best of all she told me they had lots of boys bathing suits in the right size range. The location was great. It was just around the corner from Court Street on what was mainly a brownstone block. Close muni meter parking on Court Street was relatively easy, requiring only one drive around the block. We walked into a beautifully laid out, bright and sunny, well stocked store. As we entered, the employee asked if I had called about the bathing suit. She was just as personable and friendly as on the phone. She pulled out wonderful swim suit and rash vest combos in several sizes. Realizing my struggle to accomplish the fitting task, she took over. Managing to get a four year old to take off his favorite shirt and be fitted in swim wear without complaint was a sight to behold. She even helped with the video chat with my son to get his opinion. What great service!! We chose an adorable Pufferfish set, which could be worn now but allowed room for rapid growth. The store's collection of quality merchandise is extensive. There is even a wall of awesome clocks to brighten up any child's room. We managed to leave with only one toy. Feeding my Grandson's planet obsession was a small'ish rubber ball earth. The awesome store employee was wonderful at assisting Grandma in convincing him to put all the other toys back on the shelf. Whew...... I'm so excited about the Pufferfish swim set purchase. And I'm delighted to have found this store. I can't wait to return for a more leisurely shopping trip.

I have been to this place countless times, and spent many dollars on birthday gifts and presents for my children over the years. The things I like about the store is that it's small, convenient, and curated. With that being said, I will never spend another dime with this business. The customer service is atrocious. The second I walked in the store instead of being greeted friendly the lady tells me "just so you know, your stroller will not fit beside the jelly cat display." I was definitely taken aback considering I had hardly gotten in the store, and the jelly cat display was near the back. Even though I felt like I was inconveniencing the sales associate, I went against my better judgment, and continued to look for a gift. I picked out two cars, one for my two year old son, and one for one of his friends. As we were deciding which cars to purchase, she proceeds to ask me (instead of helping us), to move my stroller so that other people can get by. At this point, no one else was trying to get around me. The way that she made me feel was so condescending and demoralizing. It's obvious that the sales associate has no consideration for the very people that the owner is trying to serve. Please do yourself a favor and avoid supporting stores that do not support families.

I dislike this place with a passion. Their selections are usually cute, but so over priced. I about had a heart attack when I saw a sweatsuit I got from here at Costco for of the price. There's also an employee there that's consistently rude. A kids store that's not kid-friendly.

Placed an order online for a dress for my daughter that was out of stock everywhere else I looked. It arrived the next day beautifully packaged. So happy to have found this store will absolutely be purchasing from them in the future!

I stumbled upon this place accidentally today while on a stroll with my 4 month old strapped to my chest. It was at first delightful, and quickly became terrifying. Because I will now have to refrain from walking in this direction too often or I will risk maxing out my credit card for the first time, ever. Yes, it is a boutique and it definitely has boutique pricetags - $28 for a (cute) onesie! $40 for a (super adorable) romper! Perhaps I could justify spending that much on clothing if my baby wasn't growing faster than the rate of a chia pet, but so is the reality of the forlorn economy, and I ended up buying a couple necessities instead (a toy bin and baby sunglasses aka babiators - definitely necessities!). I must add that while the store isn't huge, there is a delightfully large selection of clothes, toys and other unique baby gadgets to choose from. Even the pickiest shopper can find something here for their little one. I absolutely adore the owner. She is a mother herself and you can tell she is very passionate about the store and the quality of all her merchandise. Compared to the boutique-y store on Montague (I already forgot the name) that treats you like an unwelcome gust of wind, Picnic is a breath of fresh air. If I'm going to spend money on designer clothes and cute stuff, might as well do it here. I will definitely be back.

Perfect place to get baby shower gifts and all toddler gifts. So many adorable outfits and all of the trending toys

This store is why we need small businesses to survive. A friendly greeting when I walked in. Honestly seemed eager to help. Knew her well-stocked, varied and quality inventory well. Answered all my questions (even the dumb ones). Rung me up, wrapped my gift purchases, and printed shipping labels in the time it took me to write up a gift note. This place is great.

Love this store! Sales associate was amazing! My grandchildren adored everything I bought them.

I never write reviews but this place deserves to be called out because I have never been treated this way. I called in advance letting them know I had a return of a gift, gave them the product name and number while mentioning that I would be coming an hour commute in order to visit the store and exchange. After double checking that this would be ok the woman on the phone said it was no problem but when I arrived the owner started by yelling "No!" and in general was incredibly rude. She tried to embarrass me after saying that I didn't speak to anyone at the store and won't do anything. She mentioned there were four people at the store who worked there but even though she didn't ask all of them, she repeated that I did not speak to them basically calling me a liar. It was so rude that I didn't even press to check with the other employees after she claimed to call one. I can't believe (especially at the holidays) that someone speaks to customers that way in front of other customers. I could absolutely care less about the return but the way that this woman handled it yelling at me in front of her customers was ridiculous and I hope she learns how to speak to people in the future.

Love coming here and getting gifts for baby showers and kids birthday parties ! I love pairing children's books with a similar themed item/toy and they always have such cute stuff you can pair books with ! Also, both the owner and the woman at the register are super friendly !! Glad this store is in the neighborhood!

We love Picnic! Their selection of clothes and accessories is really well curated and you can tell they put a lot of love into their store. Excellent spot for gifts. Looking forward to seeing them again when I'm in Brooklyn.

This is a cool little boutique for babies/little kids clothes. They have an awesome selection of vintage style t-shirts for little boys. They also have a good hat selection & a small but good selection of shoes. It's not cheap here, but living here i know the neighborhood in general is expensive, so they fit the area. We've bought a few things here & know we'll stop in again.

Small store packed with cute styles for the little ones. more of a selection for older kids but there are a few finds for the babies too...prices are fit for the area, this is not going to be a cheap or a steal kind of outfit - so if youre like me (only buy things under $20 since the babe will grow out of it in 2 weeks), itll be slim pickings.

This place is fantastic! They have the cutest selection. I could go bankrupt shopping here.

I absolutely adore this chic neighborhood children's store. Every time I have gone in I am greeted by friendly smiles and very helpful staff. I recommend this store for anyone looking for a great selection of clothing and accessories or simply a great gift!
