Google
A great breakfast spot in Mooresville. Prices are reasonable and you won't leave hungry. Farmer's omelet is my go to, but there isn't a bad thing on the menu. Service is always fast and attentive. Enjoy!

Google
This is a fantastic little local spot that was quite busy while we were there. Service was great and our order came out way faster than expected. I had the country fried steak (of course) and egg platter and my wife had chocolate chip pancakes. Both were excellent.

Google
Awesome place to eat. Usually take my kids there for a dad date every Sunday. The hash is the best I’ve had in the area bar none. Easy, calm place to go and they have crafts for the kids.

Our family stopped here during our long road trip to Hilton head. It was perfect! So many options, something to make my entire picky family happy. Kelly, our server was so friendly, attentive and welcoming. We all loved our meals and added a delicious homemade dessert which was incredible. The cost was affordable for a family of 5. Great family and atmosphere. We were told it’s newer owner in past few years so I’d give a try if you haven’t been in a while.

Google
Really friendly staff. They kindly let us sit outside with our dogs and even brought them water in dog bowls! The outside was perfect spot for family. Food was tasty, down home cooking. From breakfast to burgers and sweet potato fries, it was all good! Thank you

Christina W.

Google
Been going to here for years and the food quality has gotten better and better! They offer daily specials and have improved their menu, while keeping most of the favorites! Thry even bake their own sweet treats in house from scratch! Delicious muffins, cupcakes and cookies to name a few! You can tell they're focusing more on the details that make good quality food while ensuring nice presentation! Definitely recommend for a great local, family owned breakfast and lunch place! Adults and kids approved!

Google
Loved this place. Super inviting the staff is super welcoming, and first thing gave our son a craft to put on their wall. Such a cute family friendly place. The food came out quick and was deliciously plentiful.

Google
The food was very good. The service was perfect. I will be back...but i just want to say, it was hot in there. Evidently their air conditioning can't keep up with the really hot days. And they still use styrofoam cups, not cool these days. Also, almost 4% added charge for using a debit or credit card. It's 2023. Who uses cash these days?

Yelp
Everything I have eaten here has been top notch. Great food, and Great service. Prices are very fair also. Highly recommend.

Jeannie S.

Yelp
We are always satisfied when we eat at PicNik's. My husband and I love their breakfast menu. The service is unparallelled. All the folks are upbeat and smiling, no matter how busy they may be. We go frequently and can't say enough great things about it.

Randy W.

Yelp
Our service has always been great, Kristen, Bella and Stephanie are great, personable and will always make things right with your meal. We've tried a lot of items on the menu all have been delicious and the cooks will make your meal to order, all you have to do is ask, including BUTTER or MARGARINE preference... That simple. Oh, breakfast and/ or lunch are served all day. Where else in Mooresville, NC will you find that? The atmosphere is great for young families with kids (with kid craft activities) and everyone in between. Everyone is greeted when you walk in the door. The restaurant is quaint, but you'll always have a seat, even if you have to wait a few minutes for a table, of which they also offer outdoor dining. Best mom and pop restaurant in town, hands down.

Yelp
I'm not sure how I've been here for seven months now living this close to this place and haven't tried it before now. Really disappointing actually as this place is excellent! I had the Philly cheesesteak and the wife had the gyro and both were very very good. The french fries were awesome! It definitely seems like the owners of this place are probably from somewhere up in the northeast as their menu offers pretty much anything you could want from American to Greek to breakfast/brunch etc. This is definitely going on our list of go to restaurants!

Yelp
CHECK THE "SPECIALS BOARD"! They have some seasonal specialty items like apple dumplings, pumpkin rolls, pepperoni rolls (WV style) and I'm sure much more. We've only been here for breakfast a few times but apparently everyone knows about this place because it has always been packed but not so much where we didn't get a seat right away. The servers are very attentive but not overly so. Doesn't seem like the same staff of previous reviews. It was a very pleasant experience each time. It very much a diner style environment. They have a bar with 4 seats, several large booths for larger groups of 6, more tables scattered around, and a few picnic tables outside. The food and prices are fantastic. The first time we went, I thought the biscuits and gravy were the best I have had in a long time and reminded me of the gravy I grew up eating. Huge chunks of sausage and the best gravy consistency and taste. The second time it wasn't as wowing to me but possibly because the temperature seemed to be off and it wasn't hot. They did remedy that and it won't keep me from ordering it again and again. It is delicious. I might recommend getting the gravy on the side to keep it nice and hot. Maybe that was the difference.‍ The grits are fantastic as well. Everything about them was perfect. I LOVE grits! I didn't put anything in them, just kept them plain because they were so good. Adding anything would have ruined it for me. Eat them first while they are hot. So so good! The biscuits are delicious. The pancakes were good. The eggs are cooked to order. The breakfast potatoes had great flavor. Coffee fit the bill. The breakfast sandwich on the biscuit will be next. Looks so good.

Yelp
The food was good, service good, menu not as clear as it should be. 2 egg special with home fries or grits, toast or biscuit, tomato for 7.99 but the tomato is 2.99 (too much for 4 medium slices) My husband got the french toast with 2 eggs and bacon. It was good. Also there is a 3.95$ charge if you use a credit card but there is a note on the door clearly stating this. So if you add drinks and a generous tip Breakfast for 2 will run about $25-30.

Jalon G.

Yelp
Awesome little spot hidden away in Mooresville! All the food was great and French toast special didn't disappoint, the food came out fast and hot without issue. The staff was sweet as well, they checked on us plenty and made sure we had everything from the second we walked in till we walked out. I really enjoyed that they offered to fill drinks and add a lid to go after we had finished eating. It's a small thing but gave a nice final Interaction.

John R.

Yelp
Pretty bad... had breakfast this morning. The potatoes are precooked and bad flavor and consistency. I asked if they had butter before I ordered and the waitress said yes. She doesn't know the difference between butter and the cheapest margarine that can be bought. Overall it was pitiful. Save your money. McDonald's is a real treat compared to this place!
google avatar

John D.

Yelp
Food is consistently good and you are always greeted by staff as you walk in the door. We stop in for breakfast a couple of times per month and have had lunch here a few times. They keep your cup filled and routinely offer a to go beverage. The dining area is relatively small but there are additional tables available outside if you don't mind the parking lot view.

Yelp
power went out at the house so I went out too. pulled up here about 8:00 and a car hop came over to explain my options. after going over the various permutations (several types of breads, a host of proteins, some dairy, and few styles of potatoes) I went with the sausage links, egg, and cheese on a muffin (wanted banana nut, settled for english.) quite please with how it came out, tasted as good as it photographed. yea for hot food and more coffee! liked PicNik's more better before the plague but still like it well enough now. PicNik's is a staple of the local dining scene with diners coming and going throughout the day but really big on breakfast. it's a local joint with hi-cal options plus carry out and curb service which is especially useful now.

Yelp
Service has tanked since I was here a year and half ago. I've dined here several times over the years, the most recent was in March 2016. At that time, food was great and service was excellent. Don't know what happened but service has gone way downhill and the great potato salad now only the overpowering taste of mustard as opposed to just and accent. Went for lunch today and got a booth right in front of the counter and in a direct line between the cash register and the main dining room. Heavy server traffic but I felt like I was invisible. After sitting there for 5 - 7 minutes, one of the servers did stop and drop off a menu as asked what I wanted to drink. Got my tea quick but before I could order, she was gone and did not appear for another 10 minutes. Ordered a Texas Burger which is a regular Burger served on Grilled Texas Toast with grilled onions. As a side, I had the potato salad I enjoyed last year. The Texas Burger is outstanding. One of the most flavorful Burgers I have had. The Potato Salad I enjoyed a year ago was barely edible and if fact I did not take more than two or three bites of it. A little mustard in potato salad as an accent is good but when that is all you can taste, not a pleasant experience. Should have suspected something when the potato salad was served and it was almost a fluorescent yellow. At the end, the server did ask if I wanted a tea to go which I took her up on it. Not as good as it used to be.

Yelp
Sunday morning breakfast trip, the place was slammed, with a wait outside. Random find on Yelp and we just happened to get in before the crowd. I am glad we did, one of the best Egg, Cheese and Livermush sandwiches I have ever had. The livermush was perfect. My wife ordered an omelet with french fries and we split an order of biscuit and gravy. The gravy was awesome, probably top tastiest I have ever had. Service was brutal, but like I said, they were slammed. Our server was very friendly and did NOT stop hustling. Super happy we found this gem.

Yelp
We found this place on yelp! We followed the directions to the parking lot shared by several businesses. We walk in and are greeted by a Server that shows us the available seating options and lets is know to sit where we like. So we pick a table and sit down. The table is clean with all condiments refilled and ready for the customer. As we wait on the menus we notice that there is a lot of customers coming in and the place is filling up nicely. We get our menus and give our drink order. She returns with good size coffee mugs that have space to add in creamer without overflowing. The coffee has a good flavor and is good and hot, but not too hot to drink. We order our meal and as we wait notice that the service to the other tables is quick and friendly. We are asked several times for refill on our coffees and are checked on frequently. Our food arrives. I ordered 1 egg over well with baloney, home fries and toast. I cut into my egg and it runs...yellow is not cooked. So the server takes my plate back to the kitchen. My Hubby is eating his meal of 1 egg over medium with livermush, home fries and biscuit. They returned my correct egg quickly and everything was still hot on the plate. The Servers work together to keep all the tables checked on and happy. I had the opportunity to visit the ladies room. It was clean, fully stocked with soap and towels. They had a warmer plugged in with gave the room a pleasant smell. I like they had a chair in their also if you needed to bring a child in there with you, they could sit instead of stand. Overall a good experience if in the area again I would stop back in.

Barbara M.

Yelp
Delicious breakfast. Fast and friendly service. Will come again if in the area again!! Cute atmosphere!!

Mike A.

Yelp
We eat at PicNik's at least monthly. Food is always good and the servers are very friendly. My issue is a $3.95 charge for using a credit card. I may be off a little but I believe a business pays around 3% when a patron uses a card. If I figure right on a bill of $130 the $3.95 charge would be a break even for the restaurant. Anything less would be a profit. My bill for two was $28. To use a credit card our cost would be over 12%. I went to Food Lion and bought something so I get some cash back to pay my bill.

Yelp
I am new to the area and I come from a place that has diners everywhere to get big breakfasts anytime of day. They had just what I was looking for, a western omelette with home fries and toast. It was ready for pick up in 10 minutes. I was definitely satisfied with the food. Only thing that was bothersome was none of the workers were wearing a masks. I understand customers not because they are eating but everyone was also sitting on top of each other in the restaurant.

Susan L.

Yelp
PicNik's has a big menu for breakfast and lunch as well as daily specials. The food is delicious, the portions are generous and you will love the staff. It's located just off Hwy 150 in Mooresville in the Food Lion Center. Lisa is the owner, a talented cook herself. Give PicNik's a try!
google avatar

Gabe V.

Yelp
Good food fast at affordable prices. Lovely smiles all around. The staff was friendly, and the service was excellent Thank you to the management and staff.

Jeremy J.

Yelp
Outstanding food and wonderful service with a smile. I cannot recommend the western omelette enough.

Kay D.

Yelp
Update to previous review. Great souvlaki!!

Mike S.

Yelp
First time ever doing a review. Absolutely THEE best place to eat for breakfast in North Carolina. It's not a big restaurant but it is great. Portions are perfect for a late morning nap when you get home!!! Thanks Nik!!!

Yelp
Honestly disappointed with my lunch at PicNiks. I visited a few days ago and ordered the Buffalo Chicken Sandwich w/ Fries, honey mustard, ranch and and a small apple juice. Our waitress was very nice but my experience was low par. My small drink (no refills) costed me 3.50$, and the sauces that my waitress offered me for the fries were 50 cents each, I wasn't made aware of this by the waitress before or after she asked if I would like sauce so I was surprised to see it on my bill. The sandwich with fries was reasonable at about 12$ though. When our food came out, I took a bite of the sandwich and the chicken was completely raw (see photo below). The waitress took back my sandwich and gave me a new one which was unfortunately also low par. Despite the fact that I was served completely raw chicken I was only offered 25% off of my bill.. I don't mean to sound entitled with this review, I was just genuinely surprised and disappointed with the quality of my food, and the compensation offered for being served raw chicken.

Yelp
This was my first visit to PicNiks. My server, Shelby, was excellent: prompt, accurate, and friendly. I ordered the "Hungry Man Breakfast". The food was very good and I had leftovers. The gravey was better than most I have tried in recent years.
google avatar

Danielle G.

Yelp
Was looking forward to trying the place for breakfast but Service and food was okay. It's obvious If you're a regular customer your treated differently than a new customer. Likely won't be back.

Suzanne C.

Yelp
Worst pancakes I've ever had. Dried out and fell apart. Try a new recipe. Asked for scrambled eggs soft and they were cooked to death. Won't go back based on the food. Service was thankfully good.
google avatar

matthew l.

Yelp
Not a single person in the restaurant from cook to waitress to customers were wearing a mask. There was no social distancing between patrons either. Blatant disregard for COVID and the health of their customers.
google avatar

Doreen S.

Yelp
Good food and pleasant service, but no social distancing or wearing of masks. There's a sign out front recommending these precautions so it's somewhat strange they're not doing anything at all to make their customers safer and feel more comfortable.
google avatar

Denise C.

Yelp
Will never know if it's good or not because we were patently ignored while those coming in later were welcomed warmly. If you're not a regular don't expect to be waited on.
google avatar

Beth M.

Yelp
What a great breakfast place. Our favorite in Mooresville. The food is delicious and the service is quick and very pleasant. I usually get scrambled eggs, grits and crispy bacon. My husband gets an omelette and we split a pancake! Great local place. Don't miss it. The pancake is the best I have ever had. Wish I knew their secret!
google avatar

LA O.

Yelp
A diner doesn't have to be in a shiny aluminum building or open 24 hours to qualify for that title. This is a great diner where you can show up for breakfast anytime during their operating hours. The burgers are great, as are the sandwiches, salads, hot entrees. The gyro is better than Showmar's and I have NEVER said that about any gyro, anywhere until now!! Everything is made fresh to order, so you can get exactly what you want which is very nice and a bit hard to find!! The owner, Nick, is delightful and brought the flavors of Nassau County, NY with him to Race City USA!! Give PicNik's a try, I bet you'll write a rave review, too!
google avatar

Ron H.

Yelp
What a great breakfast spot. The food is good and the service is friendly and quick. Seems like a lot of "regulars" come here daily and we were treated like family. When I business in the area this will be my morning "go-to" spot. Skip the chair restaurants and eat local.
google avatar

Danny L.

Yelp
I have told numerous people that if ever in Mooresville, NC, they should try PicNik's. Unfortunately my last visit ar PicNiks will be my last. Nomatter how good the food, a lousy server can change everything. Our sever never returned with the to-go coffee I requested. After 10 minutes I gave up and left.
google avatar

Nushina P.

Yelp
This place was EXACTLY what I was looking for while visiting the area. Biscuits were perfect and the home fries deserve all the love they get in the reviews. Coffee was very good and my daughters pancakes were also sweet & tasty. All of that being said the best part may have been the service! Thank you for a great brunch guys! We will most certainly be back

John B.

Yelp
Food and service was good and we thought we would return until we made a trip to the bathroom. Floor and toilet were very dirty and not from a day or two of use. If you can't keep the bathroom clean then the kitchen must follow the same same cleaning habits of this establishment. To bad because it has a good location.
google avatar

Tai M.

Yelp
Poor customer service! Not even a good morning when we just arrived and left. We have been here before, but today wasn't worth me even sitting outside. Not sure if the waitress was the ONLY waitress- as a reason for her poor attitude, but needless to say, I won't be back.
google avatar

Sydney H.

Yelp
This place is great! Not to mention, the art on the wall is for sale and they are awesome. Service was great, good was great, I'll be back!
google avatar

Cindy W.

Yelp
Food is still good but the location is dirty & we didn't get good service from the waitresses - they were all focused on helping Rousch race guys.
google avatar

Edamame D.

Yelp
Good food and good service. Much better than my experiences with "The Toastery". The food is well prepared and the cost is about half of the aforementioned place.
google avatar

Wayne H.

Yelp
In town for the weekend and found this little hole in the wall gem for breakfast; sat outside on the patio and I built my own omelet with bacon, mushrooms and feta and I got what I like to call a loaded omelet. Most places will sprinkle on a few ingredients and 90% of the omelet is egg but with a loaded omelet almost 90% of the omelet was ingredients and I love that. It came with home fries and cinnamon raisin toast which was delicious. Service was friendly and there were families with their dogs on the patio which made for a very enjoyable atmosphere. Would definitely come back.
google avatar

Stacey H.

Yelp
Horrible atmosphere. Waitresses ignore you and the place is unwelcoming. Black people beware, no food is worth the stares and ignorance.
google avatar

Annamaria-Guarneri M.

Yelp
Consistently good. Moses has to be the funniest, best waiter around! My boys call him a cool Kat.

Yelp
We love going to PicNiks it's a great gem - great food delicious broccoli soup and Nik and Lisa are amazing down to earth people.

Yelp
Love this place and the people who serve us here. Great northern diner food combined with Southern & Greek hospitality- what more could you ask for?? Breakfasts & Lunches great- here midday for our umpteenth visit & going for Roast Beef on Rye today, but often get breakfasts & all we've tried over the years are good. Friendly, prompt service with a smile, comfy booths & it is quiet enough (but not too quiet!) for my hubby & I to talk and plan our training trips. This Jersey girl transplanted to college in NC 40 yrs ago feels at home here & well fed with healthy alternatives as well as comfort foods & Daily specials. A little of everything, Italian, Greek, Southern, Cuban, Philly, NJ/NY: the best of all my worlds (except Africa, where I work- unless you count the pitas as N Africa as well as Greek, lol!)

Aly L.

Yelp
I mean it's def blah. Kind of like cafeteria food....building is super small to and doesn't seat that many people. It's cheap, so I guess that's why it's just blah.
google avatar

Tammy M.

Yelp
Great food, great service. LOVE the flavored sweet teas, passion fruit was my choice and it was really good!

Bill M.

Yelp
Our group of 4 retired car guys have been having breakfast at picNik's for a a few months and are very impressed by the food, the friendliness and the entire operation. We always enjoy the home fries, grits, liver mush, sausage, bacon and even bologna with our eggs and toast or biscuits. The servers are awesome as we have gotten to know them, Shelby, Tiffiney, and Angela. We have found the owners Nick and Lisa always have our orders cooked exactly like we want. We are all happy with this small little place often overlooked beside Joe Fish in the strip shopping center. Keep up the great food and service!
google avatar

Nicholas S.

Yelp
This is one of those local businesses that you just know is going to make it big from the very beginning. They took the aged concept of a New England diner and made it relevant and fun in the south. I first went a few days after their grand opening last year, but forget to write a review. A few months later and I'm glad I waited. I've seen not only my family, but also the community, become addicted to this place. Now, you can't got in for lunch without a packed and busy place. I know I'm not alone when I write this review about how great PicNik's is. Firstly, I'd like to commend the owners for being so awesome. They are totally approachable and always in there. My dad has gotten to know them and also notes how hands-on and personable they are. The food is really great. I've tried items off their breakfast, Italian, and Greek menus and enjoyed it all thoroughly. So far no one in my family has had a bad experience there. The price is spot on too for a great breakfast or lunch! All of that being said, it is diner food. Don't expect a 5-star Michelin meal. But for what it is, it's great!
google avatar

Chris R.

Yelp
We stopped by last Saturday. The food was great! Just down home cooking. The atmosphere was good for a restaurant like this. It was a little small, and I saw a couple leave b/c there were no empty seats and not really a place to stand and wait for one, especially on a cold day when you don't want to stand or sit outside. I would have given 5 stars if you were in a bigger space. Service and food were spot on.
google avatar

Craig S.

Yelp
First trip here but if I lived in the area I would be a fan. The food was good, plentiful, taste. The lady that waited on us was exceptional. Did not get her name but she had a finger in a splint and I know it was hurting as she always kept it up and protected. Even with the injury she did a super great job. This place was close to our hotel and my sisters house so I aim sure I will be back.
