El Preferido Is Buenos Aires’ Most Iconic Restaurant

"The latest from Leo Azulay, an alumnus of Francis Mallmann, serves Argentinean-style, semi-deep-dish pizza, using long-fermented sourdough. Eclectic sides and appetizers round out the meal." - Peter Kaminsky

We came here on a food tour. This was our first stop and made a great impression on us of Buenos Aires’ pizza scene. The crust was perfect. Somewhere between fluffy and crunchy. And the cheese topping was such a wonderful melange and paired beautifully with the onions. Normally I’m not a huge fan of white pizzas, because they’re overloaded with cheese and end up feeling heavy, but not here! This was a beautiful slice of pizza. We also had some beef empanadas, which were very good, but I would come back tomorrow for that pizza slice!

Chill place to have pizzas and empanadas. I enjoyed more the empanadas than the pizza. The pizzas are firewood roasted but with a thicker bread. I enjoyed more the fugazetta with cheese than the jamón y morrones (which had an overpowering bell pepper taste). The atmosphere is nice to eat and have a conversation.

Delicious empanadas and pizzas! We ordered four different empanadas and they all tasted amazing! They were quite big and very filling. We were two adults that shared four empanadas and a pizza. It was the perfect amount of food. The staff were friendly and helpful.

Pizzas served here are the cheesy loaded Argentinian style- super filling and great for sharing. Personally not a fan of loaded pizzas as such however I enjoyed the vegetarian pizza with olives and hummus the most as the flavors really stood out - protein pizzas tasted rather average in comparison

My favorite pizza in Buenos Aires. Delicious!! It’s super casual during the day(lunch specials!) and then it turns into this chic bistro in the evenings.

Pizza is terrible. Wayyyy too much crust & not crispy at all. No flavor. We ordered the small pizza. The waiter messed up the order and brought a large. We thought it was a bit strange and didn’t look right, but just assumed that that was the size. When we told them at the end, the “manager” refused to correct the bill argued and argued. Terrible food horrible service do not go here. Part of a ridiculous restaurant group that keeps acquiring more and more places, but have no idea what is going on with the daily operations of this place or some of their other spots.zero stars.

Delicious cheesy pizzas with a light but fluffy crust! Excellent wine list, very friendly service. An upscale pizza experience, just excellent. 🤌🏼

We went with a tour group. It was the start of our food and wine tour. Delicious light pizza! And fun fold on the empanadas. Wonderful visit.
