El Preferido Is Buenos Aires’ Most Iconic Restaurant

"The latest from Leo Azulay, an alumnus of Francis Mallmann, serves Argentinean-style, semi-deep-dish pizza, using long-fermented sourdough. Eclectic sides and appetizers round out the meal." - Peter Kaminsky

Visited on a food tour, tasted the classic pizza and shredded beef empanada, both excellent. We were early and on a food tour so the place was pretty empty and the food dropped instantly so I can’t vouch for the service on a normal visit. But friendly staff and delicious food!

Wood fire pizzas are always better, but this one went beyond my expectations. The stuffing was unique for me so far and the slow fermentation dough added positively to the overall experience. The restaurant is well located on a corner in the Palermo neighborhood and the staff was friendly. The dining area has a rustic decoration. It's pretty cool to eat here. I highly recommend this restaurant!

Food for the soul. Both the pizza and the empanadas were absolutely amazing. The crust on the pizza dough is excellent. Would recommend to anyone visiting to go there.

This place was the first stop in our food Tour but it was also the most underwhelming. Had better pizza and empanadas elsewhere in Argentina.

These have been the best empanadas in Buenos Aires that we've had. We tried the chicken, beef, ham and cheese. Our favorite was split between them. So good! The pizza we had, a mozzarella was yum! Very highly recommended

We did a walking food tour and this was one of the restaurants on the tour. Pizza and empanadas were delicious

We came here on a food tour. This was our first stop and made a great impression on us of Buenos Aires’ pizza scene. The crust was perfect. Somewhere between fluffy and crunchy. And the cheese topping was such a wonderful melange and paired beautifully with the onions. Normally I’m not a huge fan of white pizzas, because they’re overloaded with cheese and end up feeling heavy, but not here! This was a beautiful slice of pizza. We also had some beef empanadas, which were very good, but I would come back tomorrow for that pizza slice!
