04.10.2025 Cute place right near the ferry. I love the popovers here! Light and airy. I highly recommend ordering in advance especially in the summer! Parking is atrocious but this place is worth it. They have seating in and outside.

Google
This is my favorite bakery ever. You have to try a bacon egg and cheese popover. Or any popover. The cheese danish is the best I’ve ever had. I won’t eat it from anywhere else. I can’t wait to visit every time I go to WHOI for fieldwork.

Google
Great coffee shop in Woods hole. This place gets packed during the tourist season. Great selection of baked goods as well coffee. I always stop down when im biking the trail to woods hole

Google
A bakery with personality. Great breakfast/ lunch spot located next to the vineyard ferry. All handmade treats are ready to go. The popovers are the best! The newly updated menu includes burgers and fries. Check out the online orders and pick them up at the front counter. The dining room does not have table service, so you seat yourself. Pre-order pies for the holiday and pick them up the morning of. Check out what is in season.

Google
Fun little spot! My husband ate a delicious plum tomato soup and scoop of tuna salad. I ordered a turkey Reuben and butterscotch wonder bar. All very delicious. Everything looked so good that I had a hard time choosing what to order. Will be back next year!

Google
It was very busy so we put in online orders to not clog up the store front. It gave a time to collect the order. I arrived 5 minutes early, then proceeded to wait for 45 minutes next to the online pick up sign. It was busy, but when I asked it turned out that my order was inside the whole time and hadn't been brought out to the pick up spot. The wrap was fine, but the fries were inedible.

I love this place! We vacationed in Woods Hole back in 2013 and have been hooked since. I started ordering my coffee beans here and had them shipped to Utah. I know they’re fresh and roasted on site. All the pastries are scratch made and the selection is amazing. We just vacationed in Woods Hole again this October 2024 and I’ve had coffee, tons of pastries and a breakfast sandwich from there on this trip. Still fantastic!!! I’m coming home with some coffee beans this time!

Google
Stopped in to check out what they had to eat and was very surprised. They had more than the place we were staying. We ordered a breakfast sandwich and a roast beef wrap, both were delicious and were very satisfying. We came back before we left and had ordered breakfast sandwiches to go and several of their pastries and several of their homemade cookies. We we up to celebrate our 25th Anniversary, we will definitely be back. Definitely a place worth visiting for a bite or some of their homemade goods and pastries.

Yelp
Excellent baked goods, sandwiches, soups and coffee/drinks. Only downside is it is too popular in the summer due to its close proximity to the Martha's Vineyard ferry.

Yelp
Always a huge fan of pie in the sky and thought it needed a review. I came here with my boyfriend yesterday for the first time in a while and was reminded why this place has a special place in my heart. One of my pottery students had raved about their popovers. I tend to go on the sweet side and usually opt for their cannolis or seven layer bars which are incredible. Yesterday I tried for the first time a popover with their tomato bisque and oh my god, it was amazing. We sat outside at a sunny table and enjoyed what felt like the first spring day. Loved every second.

Yelp
Pie in the Sky is charming, cozy, and filled with mouthwatering treats. I had the bacon, egg, and cheddar on a popover, which had everything I look for in a breakfast sandwich: fried egg (not microwaved) crispy bacon melted cheese I have also never had a breakfast sandwich on a popover before, it was a fun and unique take! The only reason it's not getting a full 5 stars is that while the popover was great, it was VERY buttery and decadent, paired with the bacon it was a little too rich for me - but still delicious!

Yelp
Recommended by the bike shop owner to stop and grab food while doing the trail. Excited to come in however staff was not friendly and I just felt so out of place and rushed to make a decision. After reading the menu I had my heart set on a lobster roll and clam chowder with a iced green tea however that was immediately shot down when I was very shortly advised they didn't have green tea or the lobster roll. I didn't understand the not having green tea given the menu stated they had it. Rushed I just ordered the salad with chicken salad on it and a plain unsweetened black tea. After we ate and I got up to dispose of trash, I saw they had bottled Harney & Sons green tea. So I grabbed 1 given I love Harney tea! Staff could've told me this when placing my order however stating again that she was not friendly at all. There was seating inside or outside. We sat inside. Food was ok. Fresh veggies on the salad. Chicken salad had good flavor. The chowder was mainly potatoes and very large.

Michael W.

Yelp
Everything was great! But since when is breakfast so expensive o_o This spot was BOOMING when we arrived but it's understandably when you consider how close it is to the ferry. So you get a mix of locals, tourists, and people killing time. Some people had to leave without even getting their order (!) Honestly I have no complaints besides pricing (see pic). We weren't in a rush so the wait didn't bother me. At least everything came out faster than the other coffee shop down the street. If you're catching the ferry or just visiting the area I'd recommend this to grab a coffee and sandwich on the run. Everyone was nice, plenty of seating outside (inside has a few tables but it's cramped in there during breakfast hours), and good options make this a must stop breakfast spot.

Lixmarie W.

Yelp
Yup! 5 stars! Why?! Because the baked goods sizes are HUGE! This place gives you the cozy home feel you will love. I came here twice during our stay. This place gets very very busy so come early and don't come toooo hungry because if get later in the am the line gets long. But! The service is quick. When ordering sandwiches that will take a bit. Everything I've had was delicious! My favorite was the dulce de leche stuffed croissant. I've tried the avocado toast and the only complaint I had was the size of the tomato. It was uneven and very thick. It made it a little bit difficult to eat. I will be a regular customer when I'm in the area again.

Sherry W.

Yelp
Great stop on my bike ride from Falmouth. They have a bike rack in the front. There is a single restroom. You order at the counter inside and they call your name when it's ready. They make all their own baked goods and bread. I had a chicken salad sandwich on sourdough. It was delicious. They toasted the bread per my request. They made me a chai latte with chai tea bag and added milk. Their regular chai is from a concentrate. There is a lot of outdoor seating. There is no indoor seating. Service was fast

Courtney K.

Yelp
Bottom: Excellent baked goods and satisfying sandwiches overlooking the ferry terminal. Looking for lunch my husband and I visited Pie in the Sky. We both had some hearty sandwiches (Pesto Grilled Cheese & BLT) with Cape Cod sea salt chips which hit the spot but the real winner was the special Cinnamon Roll Focaccia. It was truly one of the best desserts I've ever had and I eat lots of desserts! My husband and I enjoyed our sandwiches while sitting inside the cafe overlooking the bustling ferry terminal. On our next visit we once again ordered sandwiches but this time enjoyed them on the front patio. Unfortunately the special Focaccia wasn't offered so we munched on tasty, classic chocolate chip cookies instead. There isn't much seating inside but when the weather is nice the front patio offers decent seating and good people watching. For those who don't want to eat in, you can also get it to go by placing an order online or in the cafe. On both of our visits we just had water but I would have liked to tried some coffee. On our second visit they were roasting their own beans. Bags of coffee can also be ordered online. Pie in the Sky does not have its own parking lot but on both occasions we found street parking.

Yelp
I ordered a pumpkin pie specifically on the Tuesday before Thanksgiving. I picked it up on Wednesday/Thanksgiving Eve. I paid 30+ dollars for it and paid the gentleman a $10 tip for making it happen because it was for my 86 year-old father and that's all he wanted. Once we served it, everybody agreed that it wasn't a pumpkin pie that it was probably most likely a sweet potato pie. Even as a sweet potato pie, it wasn't very good at all. Never again. However, thanks again for at least handing me something for $40.

Andrea R.

Yelp
This place is marvelous! I come here twice a year when I'm traveling by ferry as it's near the Steamship Ferry. The treats are over sized and SO good! They don't have any vegan options, but it's worth it. It's set up like a small bakery with little room for seating, but have them outdoors. The staff is good at getting people in and out quickly. I've never seen it when it wasn't empty, so that pace is necessary. I look forward to my visit next year!

Marisa L.

Yelp
Delicious!! I live locally and this is one of my favorite spots!! Great location with lots to do and explore around or simply just a must before getting on or off the ferry. I consider myself a bit of a coffee snob but this place brews a great cup! And the fruit danishes are out of this world! Always a bit of a line when arrive but after you taste your food and sip your drink you'll understand why.

Peter A.

Yelp
Overpriced for the quality of food. Paid $13.50 for a chicken salad sandwich with the cheapest bread you could buy from a grocery store, dry canned chicken and an embarrassingly bad quality tomato. The only redeeming quality was the speed it was ready. Maybe the drinks are good?

Yelp
I have nothing to detract from my previous review. It has been 6 years since I was able to return. We stayed at a wonderful inn that no longer served breakfast due to a change in ownership since we were last there. But we told them, no worry, we almost always get breakfast or brunch at Pie in the Sky. We did and I discovered a new option on the menu or perhaps one I had overlooked in the past. But it was my favorite combo of egg/ bacon/ cheese but this time I chose to have it on a popover! I love popovers. I made them for year but now get them at home at a local bakery. But I have never had one split open to accommodate sandwich fillings. It was a brilliant idea for Pie in the Sky to offer it. I had it both days we were in town for breakfast. As usual, all the food and drinks were wonderful and the staff very friendly. But it was really very busy and packed so if you are in a rush to get somewhere, allow enough time to enjoy or take with you. I may be the only public breakfast option in the area and they have risen to the occasion.

Yelp
Missed the ferry to Martha's Vineyard so I stopped by Pie in the Sky for a bite to eat and a drink. Really fast service! I enjoyed my hot chocolate and turkey sandwich. I didn't get a pastry or a dessert because the portions are really big. Definitely would come back again and it was recommended by the locals over the coffee obsession cafe.

Liz S.

Yelp
Needed a healthy snack while waiting for the ferry during my recent trip to the east coast. Pie In The Sky came through! I was happy to see that they had Avocado Toast on the menu (sourdough, pickled onions, tomato, arugula) since I was craving something savory and semi-light. It was satisfying and not ridiculously expensive, as cado toast can sometimes be. My sister and I grabbed a table outside after ordering at the counter--it was pretty full so we got lucky! I'd say this is a solid choice if you're in the area and want a casual bite. Those cookies looked really good too...

Claire L.

Yelp
Blueberry scone is not very sweet which is good! Latte is tasty. Enjoy food and drink in patio is pretty chill.

Andrea B.

Yelp
Great little place to stop for a quick bite at the end of the Shining Sea trail. They don't offer a lot of gluten free items, but they did have an excellent frozen raspberry lemonade. This place is very popular, bike rack was full, line out the door. We were here in the office season, can't imagine how busy they are during the summer.

AJ L.

Yelp
This place offers something that I had never heard of - a breakfast sandwich served on a "pop over." This is a nice mom-and-dad breakfast place that was BUSTLING, and for good reason. Wood Hole is a small town but this seemed to have quite literally everyone waiting in line. Despite how busy it was, service was quick and friendly (all things considered). The breakfast sandwich was delicious and the bread was sweet, soft and freshly made. The peanut butter chocolate banana smoothie was absolutely delicious and a great compliment. Being near the water, you have a nice, calming and relaxing ambiance. Super warm and inviting. Highly recommend coming for breakfast or picking up some baked goods as snacks throughout the day.

Chris K.

Yelp
Stopped here twice on a recent trip to Woods Hole and it's still delightful. We got breakfast sandwiches on popovers the first morning and then got one on a croissant the next morning. The popovers are fun but definitely loved the croissant sandwich - fantastic. Opted for the iced mocha latte both mornings with some extra shots and this was super. Great flavor and was sweet enough for me. Service is always great here - highly recommend!

Yelp
I have memories of Pie In The Sky that go back to 1983, and it's always been great. I'm here after maybe 4 years since our last visit, excited to grab lunch before our ferry. I noted the menu seemed to have less creativity and fewer selections. My turkey sandwich was dreadfully disappointing, my wife's tuna roll up was small for the price, my berry blitz smoothie tasteless. All of it seemingly cheap, ordinary quality, like stuff at a quick food convenience shop. Service people were all friendly, polite and efficient. The place is still clean and cozy.

Christa M.

Yelp
We had a 9:30 boarding pass for the ferry and so we figured we had more then enough time to grab some coffee and food. It was 9:05am when we placed our order. The inside is small and it was very busy. They had multiple employees taking orders so we didn't wait too long in line. Prices are reasonable - spent about $14 for small coffee and a breakfast sandwich. The patio area was very busy and all the tables were occupied. We had asked for our food to go so we stood and waited to be called. We waited about 30 minutes for our food to be ready. We saw several people leave without their orders to catch the ferry and some who were very upset that it was taking too long. One girl was complaining that she had just ordered 1 bagel and did not like that she had to wait that long for it. We ended up missing our ferry and had to board the next one - not a big deal for us. My breakfast sandwich was good, nothing special. It was very hot which is a plus for me because I dislike eating cold breakfast sandwiches. Definitely stop by for some breakfast or drinks but do keep in mind that the service is not fast.

L T.

Yelp
Adorable shop! Got an amazing latte, ham & cheese croissant and an almond popover to enjoy the next day. All outstanding. The popover was to die for!! Stopped on our way to the ferry and will stop again on our way off the island.

Lisa P.

Yelp
Yum yum yum. I had a sandwich, was grateful for GF bread, and will be back for dessert. The pies look amazing.

Rebecca R.

Yelp
This is heaven. The location. The staff. The food. The coffee. We went here a dozen times. This is heaven.

Nicole W.

Yelp
Great little place in terms of ambiance, plenty of places to sit and do work outside with free wifi. I got a berry blitz smoothie with protein powder which looked pretty but pretty much just tasted like protein powder, as things with protein powder tend to do *shrug*. Didn't try anything else so take my review with a grain of salt. Lovely people working here and hanging out here

Leonard R. M.

Yelp
The Pie In The Sky is a hidden gem in Woods Hole. After going out to eat at a local restaurant (Captain Kids) my wife and I decided to go for a walk and explore Woods Hole. We decided to have dessert at The Pie In The Sky. Best decision we made. The aroma and display of food and sweets was overwhelming. We brought home a selection of cookies and cannolis. My family loved the cookies and cannolis. This was our second trip back and will be our go to for desserts. They also sell sandwiches, coffee (many varieties) and of course pies. Try the Pie In The Sky...trust me you won't be disappointed.

Caitlin K.

Yelp
The pesto grilled cheese was to die for. Hit the spot with a great outside patio perfect for a sunny day after a long bike ride. Ham and cheese croissant was very good too but wish I had gotten it warmed up. Best sandwhich place in woods hole.

Bob M.

Yelp
Great coffees Pastries pies and breads are made on the premises. Friendly staff. Outside seating Ambiance was just meh

Paul S.

Yelp
Place is dirty and the staff can be very tough on the customers. Today they wouldn't make a smoothie because they were "understaffed" the bariesta said with a very noticeable level of enjoyment. Seemed to be hoping for a fight, was a little unusual how unapologetic he was. Then to add to the insult he rushed us out the door if we couldn't on the fly come up with somthing else we wanted. We just said Ok and left. Won't be back they don't seems to resrespect the customers. We're giving others in line a hard time as well. Message to the owners, your customers are the heart of a business maybe put out a sign so people don't wait 10 minutes in line to be greeted by a rude hipster who seems to enjoy telling you no and looking for fights. Good luck guys.

Dena L.

Yelp
This is a very busy little cafe in town, but it was busy for a reason. This place was recommended by a family member and it did not disappoint. They roast their own coffee here which was very rich in flavor. If you are a coffee "snob" I highly recommend this place. We purchased a five pound bag of beans to take home-Captain Ahab medium roast. The cappuccino was also very good. The clam chowder was fantastic! Very creamy with large chunk a of potatoes. I thought it was perfectly flavored, but my husband still felt it needed a little hot sauce. The quiche was fluffy and not overly cooked. I did feel it lacked any spice, so I did add a little hot sauce to it, but overall it was still a good quiche.

Lucas W.

Yelp
Quaint and convenient breakfast joint that is open far more frequently and consistently than the other options in Wood's Hole which pick random days to close, especially out of season. We had some baked goods and sandwiches to start the day while awaiting the ferry to the vineyard. My Vermonter sandwich was tasty and surprisingly filling. Others got breakfast sandwiches which were good but i suppose a little less unique. Nice patio out front that stretches along the side and we got to take advantage of some great autumn weather while enjoying breakfast.

Yelp
We fell in love with this little bakery it's just outside the ferry from good Woods Hole to Martha's Vineyard. The pastries are great and the sandwiches look really good to. They have their own bean roaster so the coffee is perfect every time.

Anna M.

Yelp
My friend recommended this place and I am so glad that I stopped by here. We actually decided to come here twice during our weekend stay to visit Martha's Vineyard! There drink menu definitely has a lot of options and I really enjoyed my caramel latte. We also got a dirty chai which was delicious. I was very impressed with their egg and cheese on a pop over, it was the perfect combination and I would definitely recommend trying this. I also got the Keylime pie and chocolate mousse, delicious and not too sweet! The blueberry scones are very large and perfect with coffee. I also really liked there sausage, pepper, onion croissant. It was very flavorful and such a great thing to snack on! Definitely worth visiting here and I would try their other stuff if I'm by the area again because there were a lot of delicious looking options on display and on their menu!

Max D.

Yelp
Don't know why people love this place so much over the other cafes in woods hole. Place is dirty inside and they decided to put the coffee roaster right in the middle of the waiting area so it feels like you're in a sauna and sounds like you're in a food processor. Not to mention the food, which on top of being awful takes forever to come out even when it isn't busy.

Maura D.

Yelp
Everything about Pie In The Sky is great. They have gluten-free options and the coffee is excellent.

Jason B.

Yelp
Disappointing - what happened guys? growing up summers in Falmouth this was one of my favourites. I've heard they have been bought by private equity and the decline in quality, lack of cleanliness, and high prices would explain that. We had 2 coffees, 2 sandwiches and 2 croissant to go totalling $55. After waiting almost 30 minutes the grilled cheese was minuscule, the cheese still unmelted, tomato was mealy and the bread sopped in grease. My sister's sandwich was completely an inedible hot mess. The terrace was dirty with broken furniture and utter chaos. Sad to cross this off my list - better sandwiches and ambiance at Woods Hole Market. Bye bye Pie in the Sky

Desi K.

Yelp
We stumbled across this bakery trying to quickly find a place that was open before hopping on to the ferry to Martha's Vineyard. We discovered Pie In The Sky and were glad to find it just steps away from the ferry. The line out the door was a promising sign of a local favorite and thankfully the line moved very fast. Within minutes we were ordering a toasted everything bagel with cream cheese, a sausage egg & cheese on a croissant, 2 popovers and coffees. The toasted everything bagel and cream cheese was finger licking good with a perfect balance of crunch and softness. The popovers were DIVINE - so fluffy and soft it was like a mouthwatering marshmallow. The latte was just what I needed for a long road trip and the breakfast sandwich so flavorful. I loved sipping my coffee by their window seat looking out over the water. Can't wait to come back and try more of their pastries!

Brittany G.

Yelp
Got a delicious salmon bagel here while on vacation and a chocolate chip cannoli. I enjoyed both of them out on the patio with friends during the beautiful weather and could have stayed there all day. Very chill, calm, and relaxed vibe. The staff was also polite, answered any questions I had, made suggestions and worked fast as well. I wish I could return to this place all the time!

Allie M.

Yelp
Delicious baked goods, great coffee! Love their blueberry scones and espresso drinks.

Shelby V.

Yelp
Got an oat latte but wanted everything. Stopped here on my way to the ferry (it's a short walk down the hill) the bakery has a ton of fresh pastries including just break products, filled croissants and muffins, and savory snacks like sausage roll type things! They also make a variety of sandwiches. There was enough seating for mid day but I imagine during busy times, the tables are limited. The place has a little yard too that leads right to the ferry dock. Coffee was great, the servers were smiling and I was grateful they had oat milk.

Clinton L.

Yelp
The coffee here is delicious and they have a huge selection of bakery items like cookies, bars, scones, muffins and croissants. The staff stays so collected even when it's hectic/busy in the tight indoor space. Sitting outside is a lovely option, and the location makes for great people traffic watching.

Alla T.

Yelp
We came in for lunch to the bakery after reading nice reviews. I really enjoyed the display of baked goods - they all looked scrumptious. We purchased two cookies and both were delicious. Prices for the baked goods and their sizes were fair. But, we also bought sandwiches - and mine " the Vermonter" was very small. Almost like a snack rather than lunch. Sandwiches were overpriced. I recommend to the bakery making that sandwich with much thicker bread slices - at least that will provide more calories and value for the money.

Kyle S.

Yelp
Perfect breakfast spot! Whenever my wife and I vacation in Woods Hole, we stop here multiple times throughout the day. The breakfast sandwiches and pastries are delicious, and the house-ground coffee is perfect. The clientele is a fun mix of Oceanographic Institute locals and Martha's Vineyard ferrygoers. No matter what you background, everyone can agree: Pie in The Sky is the best place in town to start your day!

Bob S.

Yelp
Strong tasty coffee and soft sweet cookies in a cozy little corner of Woods Hole. I'd like to come back to sample some lunch items the next time that we're in town!

Emily J.

Yelp
Really good food and this place was really busy. The service was very fast and they have plenty of seating.

Meaghan G.

Yelp
Stopped by after exploring the Knob. This is a cute bakery that gives me collegetown vibes - there were a lot of young people hanging out there. We ordered a couple of pastries for dessert and they were all pretty big portions. We ordered two chocolate chip cookies, an apricot shortbread, chocolate moouse pie, blondie, and a chocolate/coconut blondie-ish dessert that I don't remember the name of. They were all good, but not amazing. There is also a nice outdoor seating area.

W C.

Yelp
We stopped here after getting off a crack-of-dawn ferry from the Vineyard on Sunday. We'd never been to Pie in the Sky before since we always try to hit up the Black Dog in VH before the boat, so this was a nice surprise because it's an adorable little shop. Iced coffees are excellent. Our kid got a delicious hot chocolate, but the lid that they use for it is pretty dumb: the second you open the flap, the steaming whipped cream comes shooting out. And if we're being honest, we didn't love any of the food we ordered; all of it was "fine"--just nothing in the WOW department. The almond popover seemed a bit greasy while the lemon poppy scone was a bit too dry. The egg, cheese, and bacon sandwich on rye (they were out of sourdough) was definitely dry and also needed a friendly pinch of salt. Normally we'd settle on three stars, but the folks here were very friendly and we enjoyed the pleasant atmosphere, so we're rounding up. We'd also come back to try it again because hopefully we just ordered wrong and there are better baked good to be had.

Samantha H.

Yelp
Came here for lunch with my family. Everyone recommends this place but I found it to be pretty average, but average doesn't mean bad. It was pretty busy and crowded when we came here even with it being a week day. We snagged a table outside. I got the chicken salad sandwich on a croissant. I liked the option to get it on the croissant, but didn't think the chicken salad was anything great. I've had way better. I'm also not a fan of the humongous chunks of celery. My kids shared a peanut butter and jelly, which it's hard to mess up peanut butter and jelly but I appreciate that they had an option for kids. My husband wanted to get the roast beef sandwich but they were sold out. Actually from hearing other people ordering it seemed like they were sold out of a few things. My husband got the Vermonter sandwich (ham, cheddar, and apples) instead, which he did actually love and say was really good. Since this place is known for their pastries we decided to get a chocolate chip cookie before we left. It was huge and we all shared it, but again, nothing special. This is a solid place to visit, not saying it was bad or anything just didn't get the hype. I didn't get a chance to try the coffee so can't speak on that. The prices were reasonable too.

Maddie D.

Yelp
I absolutely love this place!! Always busy but the line moves so fast!! Totally worth it! (I recommend the bacon, egg, and cheese popover, vanilla latte, sticky bun and the chocolate mousse pie!)
