America's Absolute Best Pie Shops

"From a tiny shop in Oklahoma City’s eclectic Plaza District, I found a retro-flair bakery run by two grandmother-taught bakers, Darcy Schein and Leslie Coale-Mossman, that turns out inventive, crave-worthy pies. Bestsellers like Drunken Turtle (fudgy chocolate filling topped with salted bourbon caramel and pecans), Bird Dog Buttermilk (with a splash of Bird Dog Blackberry Whiskey), and Pineapple Millionaire (pineapple and pecan filling with whipped buttercream) showcase both tradition and creativity; the shop produces about 20,000 handmade pies a year, including frozen pies and six-inch “cutie pies.”" - Veronica Stoddart

Google
Love this new found dessert place. They have so many choices and even offer chicken pot pies although those are a little pricey. You get a delicious slice of pie for $6 and so many choices. Definitely a must try.

Google
I’m not kidding when I tell you this is some of the best pie in the country. The shop itself is adorable and offers so many amazing take ‘n thaw or take n’ bake options including savory casseroles and pot pies! The slice assortment was very impressive and everything I’ve tried has been EXCELLENT. I grew up eating strawberry rhubarb pies that my grandma, my mom and I would make and Pie Junkie’s rendition with a crumb topping was the best version I’ve ever tasted. It was exceptional, truly something special. Honorable mention to the birthday cake pie which is as whimsical and vanilla-y as it sounds. So stinking good! A must try when in OKC or near the Plaza District, which is such a fun destination in itself. Pie Junkie, I understand why junkie is in your name now… your pie is crack and I am hooked.

Google
Amazing pie place. I had a slice of apple crumble and a slice of peanut butter chocolate. Very impressed.

Google
Fast service and a variety of creative pie options! This was even better than my expectations. I highly recommend the peanut butter pie, one of the best bites I've ever had for sure. I can't wait until my trip to this place tontry something else. Overall, well done!

Google
Had some pie prior to our lunch. My buddy and I came in for a quick bite. I had the lemon cream...deliciousness! He tried a couple and liked them all (he's a sugar fiend anyway). Great location, and the decor is cute. Super friendly and helpful folks.

Google
Pie Junkie is a must visit!! The only drawback is limited seating. Their pies are delicious and they are one of the best you’d want to eat. I purchased the Bird Dog & Coconut Cream. Their Coconut Cream is one of the best I’ve tasted. My wife preferred the Bird Dog and yes it was tasty just not for me! I would recommend trying this place!

Google
Wanted a tasty treat on our cross county road trip from California to Chicago this place was perfect and was in a little town with stunning murals. They offered the French silk my daughter was craving and a key lime for me. They also offer savory cook at home pot pies, cheesy hashbrown casserole... wish we brought a cooler. A must stop if you get the chance and you are a pie junkie.

Patricia H.

Google
I don’t see what the big deal is about this pie shop. I’m not from OKC so maybe it’s an OKC thing. I’ve had better pie for far less money than what they charge. I got the pumpkin crumble pie recently and that was the worst pumpkin pie I have ever had. The pumpkin was good but the crumble on top was just awful to me. It came highly rated from a local. I threw it away after one slice. That was $38 thrown in the trash.

Yelp
Tasted great! Coconut cream pie- Tasted very creamy and fresh. Cherry Limeade pie- Sweet and creamy as well. Would definitely recommend!

Yelp
I have rated Pie Junkie before but they make it so easy. They offer the best pies at a great price! No matter which pie I try, I know I'm going to love it. The crust is always perfect! This trip I had the holiday mint pie. Normally I'm not an Oreo fan, but even the Oreo crust was delightful. The Andes on top made it perfect.

Yelp
No smiles behind the counter tonight. Just blank stares. No helpful recommendations. Ended up with the Kentucky bourbon and a coconut cream. The Kentucky bourbon was Very good! Very rich! Definitely a shareable slice. The coconut cream I could've done without. Aside from the coconut bits in it, if I had put it in my mouth blindly, I wouldn't have been able to tell you what it was. It had absolutely no flavor of coconut, and none of the creaminess that that particular type of pie normally has. The filling was mealy feeling, for lack of a better description. Sad.

Yelp
Need pie?! This is the perfect place to try! Not only do they have sweet pie options, they also have pre made reals ready to go. Definitely helps take out the guess work of what to cook! There's merch, there's a small counter top so you can enjoy your slice instantly and the service is super friendly!
google avatar

Andrea R.

Yelp
A friend had told me I needed to try Pie Junkie. Seeing as how I have a huge sweet tooth, I made sure to stop by and give it a try. I've been several times now and I must say that I am never disappointed! Pie needs a delicious feeling, but I feel the crust is such a crucial ingredient for a pie. I like my crust to be flaky, moist, and flavorful. Pie Junkie meets all my crust expectations. I've had their peanut butter pie, chocolate stain, pecan, and turtle. If I'm being honest I can't pick a favorite because they are all delicious!!! Anytime I'm in the area I stop in and grab a couple slices to go! Give them a try!

James S.

Yelp
So so good! One of my favorite places when I get a sweet tooth. The banana creme pie is so dang delicious. Smooth, creamy with a hint of heavenly vanilla. It's to die for.

Yelp
Pie Junkie serves awesome pies of all varieties, including chicken pot pies and casseroles. I got their key lime pie and also turtle chocolate ones - both were very good. Service at the counter was great. Cute interior atmosphere where you can sit down at counters. They also have merch for sale. Definitely an awesome place to check out in OKC's Plaza District!

Yelp
A great spot where you can find all kinds of delicious pies! My coworker recommended this place to me last fall for Thanksgiving, and I've been a fan ever since. I especially love their fall pies you really can't go wrong with the pecan pie or the Kentucky bourbon pie. I also heard their other pies are really good!
google avatar

Maddie S.

Yelp
Pie Junkie can honestly just take all of my money now. While they're known for their sweet dessert pies their veggie pot pie is my favorite. It does a wonderful job highlighting the vegetables instead of leaning on fake meat.

Clara A.

Yelp
Pie Junkie was always one of my favorite stops in the plaza. But lately it seems that the prices have gone up and the quality has gone down. The pie crust isn't flaky instead it's hard and dry and has no flavor or body at all. I thought it me but I was talking about it with a flirt and they said the same thing. Everyone is very nice when I come . They are all so pleasant whenever I come in but the pies are just not the same to me. Something is missing.
google avatar

Jen W.

Yelp
Love the peanut butter, s'mores, and rhubarb pies. They're about $6 a slice but so so good. Clean small shop, very cozy. A plus! (Skip the birthday pie--kinda flavorless)
google avatar

Rajiv A.

Yelp
Pie Pie where are thou my Pie. Let me say this, there aren't many place or any good places for that matter that has great and amazing pies to try. Keep in mind I said pies, so with that being said, this place is a definite must try. Come early so that you get what you want because they do run out towards the later course of the day. The pecan pie is to die for and I am not even a fan of pecans. So, try the pecan pie and also the peanut butter pie and you will not regret it one bit. Will be back.

Yelp
I love stopping by here and getting pies to go! My favorites are the savory pies (the dessert pies are also good, but just too sweet for me to purchase an entire one of!) I highly recommend the poppyseed chicken (I literally pick one up every time I'm in the plaza district) because my kids absolutely DEVOUR this!! It has just the right amount of cream to chicken ratio. If you haven't tried it yet- please do, you won't regret it!
google avatar

Nancy A.

Yelp
My husband had a slice of Apple Pie. He said it was okay but not as good as mine. But I've made pies for 50+ years I would recommend it though. The service was good.

Linda J.

Yelp
Very delicious, highly recommend.. it's worth every penny... you won't be sorry! The most talked about at our '24 Thanksgiving.
google avatar

Lana L.

Yelp
So so sooo happy!! I've been looking for a good key lime pie and this just made me happy! We also got the s'mores slice and that was amazing too! The service was also amazing and the ladies were very helpful. Another plus was their whipped cream that was not from a can and it was homemade!!
google avatar

Mary H.

Yelp
Food: Chef's kiss on the chocolate silk pie!!! I could eat that whole thing myself in a couple settings. This is the best pie I've had in my life. Now I see why they do pre-order for Thanksgiving so early in November ! Sold out already! $30 pies but worth it, $5 slices even better for you on diets. Order online also! So glad to have found this amazing bakery!!! Definitely will be a pie at my table for every event!!!!! Also dinner selections available!!!

Yelp
Pie Junkie is an absolute must when visiting OKC. I spent a summer living in OKC and used to go all the time, now I go every time I come back to visit the city. You can buy slices of pie, whole pies, frozen pie, microwavable dinner pies. It is all pies. They have plenty of different flavors to choose from, it is honestly so hard to choose. If you need help choosing, the people working are always helpful. This last time, I got the strawberry diner pie which is a summer special. It was incredible, the crust was perfect, the strawberries were cut into full fresh chunks and the whipped cream was piled high. The inside of Pie Junkie is small, they had one little table and a few high tops against the wall. The shop is located in the Plaza District, parking can be difficult so give yourself a few minutes to find parking.

Hyuen A.

Yelp
AMAZING PIES! The people there are wonderful and very helpful. They are super sweet as well.

Yelp
I think the pie is delicious but expensive. The vanilla ice cream didn't taste good and was hard, I just think if you're ordering a slice of pie with a scoop of ice cream, it would be nice if it was served on a plate. They have barely any seating, and the pie is all served in plastic to go containers and the ice cream is also in a to go container. It definitely feels more of a to go place, which is a shame, I want to sit and enjoy a nice slice of pie ala mode with a hot cup of coffee but this isn't the place for that! The service was lack luster, nothing special, no smiles, my six year old went to the counter to ask the girl a question and she completely ignored him. Pie tastes good, but the lack luster shop and price will keep me from returning.

Megan C.

Yelp
The service was super quick even with the line out the door. The staff were very friendly. There was also some take home pies and quiche in a freezer with many options. Both pies we tried were delicious!

Sue Ellen R.

Yelp
Terrific! I go there every few weeks. The dessert pies are excellent, but don't overlook the savory pies for dinner! Service is prompt and friendly.
google avatar

David F.

Yelp
Amazing deserts, taste like grandma used to make. Friendly and helpful staff. Great place to meet and enjoy family and friends.

Chris K.

Yelp
5 stars all day... no matter what your sweet tooth is craving they have you covered. Chris K. Cool Guy Coolers
google avatar

Larina S.

Yelp
If you crave the most delicious pie, you NEED to stop here! They have every kind of pie, quiche, pot pies, casseroles and cookie cake! They are friendly and fast and will recommend something if you aren't sure what you want! The store is in the Plaza district, and like everything else has the cutest vibe. There are little bistro tables where you can sit and eat and have their coffee! I recommend almost everything, but what I recently discovered is that they have the best cookie cake I've ever had! It's so moist and soft . Grab your girls, wear your florals and hit the district!

Yelp
We were heading to Oklahoma and saw Pie Junkie was rated number one for desserts in OK. Was a bit confused when we got there because the picture on the review showed all different kinds of treats but they only have PIE. AMAZING PIE! Chicken pot pie, quiche, cookie pie, banana cream pie, bourbon pie, chocolate pie, coconut pie, and so many more. We bought a lot of pie. We were visiting friends so we tried one of everything. I remembered to take a picture a bit too late. None of them were overly sweet, the s'mores pie said to heat to melt together and it was a delightful campfire mess! The banana cream was a crowd delight. All of the kids loved the cookie pies and I am grateful we had 4 of them. The turtle pie and bourbon were just bitter enough to make you crave more. The store itself was incredibly clean. I was impressed that they make all of the pies there in house. The staff was kind, answered all of our allergy questions and concerns. The pie is so delicious I am glad we live in Texas!
google avatar

Kristen W.

Yelp
This is a very good pie shop in the Plaza district. The space is simple with basically just a line and a counter. The service is efficient. They sell pie by the slice as well as whole pies and they also have chicken pot pies and quiche. I tried the coconut cream and the chocolate bourbon pecan. For me the coconut cream was excellent while the chocolate pecan was just ok. The coconut cream was light with a thin crisp butter crust. The chocolate pecan was much more sweet with a graham crust that was less tasty. I would definitely come here again to try more selections and pick up more coconut cream.

Yelp
One of my favorite place to grab dessert. Located in a fun trendy area. A great place to grab something sweet after dinner. My favorite is the butter milk pie and birthday cake pie. My son loves the seasonal strawberry pie. The staff is friendly and the place is small and quaint. Highly recommend!
google avatar

Rebekah G.

Yelp
Love this place! I love that they have their originals and seasonal flavors. I got the pumpkin chiffon pie that I tore into before I remembered I needed a pic. Staff is always friendly and the place is always clean! Whatever pie you might like head that way and cure your pie craving!
google avatar

Rose J.

Yelp
I am beyond happy with my choice of pie. The drunken turtle is everything great with Chocolate, pecans and Carmel it's delicious cold or at room temperature. I also chose the bird dog buttermilk it's pretty sweet with a hint of blackberries it's wonderful cold and a slow delicious sweet treat. I'm so happy I stopped in and tried something new. The staff was helpful and the line flows seamlessly.

Yelp
While visiting OKC, I enjoyed the best slice of Key Lime Pie I've ever tasted in my life! It was sublime! Pie Junkie has a variety of pies you can buy by the slice, albeit hard to decide on one flavor, I went with an old faithful and was not disappointed. Excited to go back and try other flavors! Deliciousness!!!!!!!!
google avatar

Bambi A.

Yelp
Been here a few times. Most of the pies are really good!! The strawberry, apple and French silk are some of our favorites. Over the years they introduce seasonal and specialty pies which are all fairly good. This is a very fast paced place and the wait time is sometimes too long. If we see people standing out the door we usually skip it because likely what we want is sold out. If make it early enough it's worth the wait. Very casual and fast paced atmosphere. There isn't a lot of room for dine in but normally we are fine to take dessert home!

Debby E.

Yelp
Best Pies Anywhere!!!! So Fresh and delicious you will just want to try every kind!!!
google avatar

Casey D.

Yelp
I could go on all day singing their praises!! This place is a MUST TRY whether you are looking for dessert or if you have a sweet tooth like me . ALL of their pies are made fresh and they have just the perfect amount of sweetness to them. I've tried many pies here, but just to rank a few: Coconut cream pie: 5/5 Pumpkin pie: 5/5 S'mores pie 3.5/5 Birthday cake pie: 4/5 The service was 5/5 The pies were 5/5 The ambiance was cool and the place was clean!
google avatar

Jeff P.

Yelp
Very delicious pies. Deep, rich flavors and good sized slices. Go early if you want to have a shot at the full variety for the day because they sell out. I've been here 3 times and each time tried a different pie. Twice I was with family so we all got a different type and shared bites. I have enjoyed them all.
google avatar

Shortbus 7.

Yelp
I've loved Pie Junke for a few years now. I've always thought the deliciousness of the pie were worth the price...Bur now, I'm not so sure
google avatar

Natalie T.

Yelp
This pie is addictive! We have ordered their pies for several special occasions at work and I loved every sinfully delicious bite! I went on my own to pick up a pie for Thanksgiving but they were sold out, so beware, they get sold out of the favorites early. So get an early start and enjoy!
google avatar

Rebecca D.

Yelp
Always love having quality made food and desert. The staff is always nice and helpful. We love it!
google avatar

Phil P.

Yelp
Small bright interior. Staff is very responsive to questions. No gluten free crust options. Nice selections of slices and whole pies. Not had a bad slice on any visits. Key Lime pie is excellent (tart the way it should be). Amazing coconut cream pie and Reese's pie.
google avatar

Mimi N.

Yelp
Fast service and our pies saved us before our dinner reservations nearby. The drunken turtle and pecan pie are delicious! Will definitely be back to try other flavors esp key lime since that one of our favs
google avatar

Paul S.

Yelp
Wife and I had two different pieces of pie. Mine was good, hers was very good. Service was quick, helpful, and friendly. Shop was clean.

Nancy M.

Yelp
The dessert pies are fabulous, but the pot pies are one of my favorite easy weeknight dinners! Delicious!

Kerry S.

Yelp
I first went in the slice of pie was much bigger for I believe $5. They have gotten alot smaller, still taste good, but I believe I'll have to start buying frozen pies since I don't cook.
google avatar

Ashley V.

Yelp
Came in here for a slice a pie and haven't been in a while and realized there's not a ton of seating inside. They have bar stools if you're with one person. There are seats outside and areas you can walk and take your pie and eat on the bench but most people were taking their slices to go! I'm my favorite is the buttermilk pie! Reminds me of my moms recipe
google avatar

Breanna A.

Yelp
Everyone kept raving about our junkie and now I am too. The pecan was amazing and I wish I got seconds and thirds. Wide selection of flavors and can't wait to come back and try some more.
google avatar

Jeremy T.

Yelp
Very good pies here. This was the saving grace after having a bad experience at the bar/restaurant next door. I was sort of in a rush to get to the airport to fly back home, but saw this place on the way back to my parking spot and glad I stopped in. I tried the drunken turtle pie, even though it was a hard choice, and it was just fantastic. Service was quick and friendly. If they had a location in the Houston area, I'd be in trouble.
google avatar

Aimee W.

Yelp
We came for the Strawberry Diner but they were sold out. But that's okay because now we have an excuse to visit again!!! We went for 2 completely different choices because they were so busy today they sold out of almost all kinds. My husband loved the Southern Banana Cream. He said it was the perfect amount of rich for him. Our baby loved it too lol! I tried the French Silk. It was super sweet and rich. I should have grabbed a coffee to take it down honestly but i was so full from dinner already. It was so so good. Best French silk I've had by far. The space is clean and easy to find. I love the fact you can get take and bake frozen pies or even just ready to eat whole pies as well. We got two individual size chicken pot pies to try this week for a quick and effortless dinner or lunch. Can't wait to try more later!

Yelp
It's been a couple of years since I ventured out to Pie Junkie. Drunken Turtle of course! Never disappoints!!!
