"If Pizzeria Toro is the sophisticate of the Durham pizza scene, then Pie Pushers is the OG who keeps it real with what they call “Durham-style” pizza (think New York-style with Midwestern sensibilities). Owners Becky Cascio and Mike Hacker went from food truck to brick and mortar, all while developing a cult-following as downtown Durham’s go-to pizza. By the slice or by the pie, it’s hard to beat the classic pepperoni pizza, but also branch out and try the State of Nirvana (pesto, roasted chicken, spinach, caramelized red onion, and bleu cheese) or the 1234 (salami, caramelized red onion, bell peppers, pistachios, and smoked gouda)." - Matt Lardie

I visited in March while traveling on alone business. The place has an indie feel to it and has some great taste in music. The staff were friendly and helped me order a breakfast pizza and salad. The salad came out quick and pizza followed a little later. It came out really hot and was delicious. I would happily go back.

Google
Food was great, service was quick. Got the side ceasar salad, cheese pizza and mushroom and ricotta pizza....which was 10 out of 10! Love the thin crispy crusts too!

My wife and I ate here on 06/12/24 before a Durham Bulls home game. It was our first time eating here! Pie pushers had a great vibe right from the entrance, walking up the flight of stairs. We ordered two half- pies with mixed toppings and fried pickles to start. The fried pickles were so fresh that it burnt my mouth throughly but it was so friggin' good. Our pizza followed some time shortly after finishing the starter. The "Durham-style" pizza that was served offered a thinner, crispy crust with very fresh toppings, delicious sauce and cheese. We ate everything. Our favorite is NY style pizza but we can say that Durham style pizza definitely should be up there on ones list to try if they ever have the chance. I do not think you will be disappointed!

Good pizza. Fast and friendly service. Interesting location.

Google
Just OK. I ordered a Sicilian slice. It was pretty flavorless and the bread was just OK. I also had the Mama Mia. The crust was very very thin. I like my crust a little bit thicker and this too was mostly bland. And last there was a pepperoni slice, and that was decent but I am guessing it was the flavor of the meat. So, overall it was disappointing. Located downtown, parking can be difficult.

Google
They don't have or offer straws to drink your beverage. Small quaint place, enjoyed the view from above while watching downtown traffic. There should be a sign that says, "Watch your step" when exiting because there is a step down when you open the door to exit.

Google
We were walking around Durham and came upon Pie Pushers. We loved it! It was really delicious thin crust pizza. We got their pie sticks which was flatbread with cheese and basil and sauce for dipping which our kids loved. The prices were reasonable and they have cups where you can get free water. Staff was very friendly and it was very clean. Will definitely be back!

Google
Pizza and apps are good.. but these chicken wings are the best in Durham! This was my dinner spot every Wednesday when I lived in downtown. I was in town this weekend and grabbed an order of baked wings and habanero BBQ; both with double ranch dressing.

Fussy B.

Yelp
Ordered the Mama Mia for delivery -- classic toppings: basil, fresh mozzarella -- and it was fine! Heavy, large chunks of chopped garlic defined an otherwise just-tomato red sauce. Crust was strong, didn't absorb much of anything and had a good crunch. Big problem was that during delivery at some point, the pizza got turned on its side and all the toppings slid off to the side. Maybe i'd stop by in the night if i was downtown, but i wouldn't order delivery again.

Kobe B.

Yelp
Pie Pushers definitely surprised us! It seems like nothing special at first glance, but the pizza was great and the vibes were 10/10. We got one of the signatures with pepperoni and country sausage, and it is one of the best pizzas I have ever had. My wife is gluten-free, and said her gluten-free pizza was perfect, too. Lots of different menu items to try! My only complaint is about the size of the space. Very limited seating. Other than that, I would definitely recommend eating here or taking it to go.

Braelynn H.

Yelp
A coworker recommended Pie Pushers to me while in town. I ordered Barb's margarita pizza, half a meatball sub, and the garlic knots to go. The pizza was pretty good. I did not love the meatball sub - it was not too flavorful. The garlic knots were a bit hard, but the marinara was good. I would definitely return for the pizza, but that's about it. Be careful walking inside as there is a large step up when walking through the door. Also, be prepared to walk upstairs to the dining area.

Lamika P.

Yelp
My sister and I stumbled upon this place. We were out just walking in the area and decided to grab a slice of pizza. The restaurant sort of has a laid back atmosphere. We sat next to the window which has a decent view. We did notice a not-so pleasant stench around our area. Yet, the pizza was delicious. We also ordered a strawberry shortcake and it was described to us as an actual "shortcake." However, it was 2 thick biscuits covered in strawberries and whipped topping. We tackled it as best as we could. We tried to wash it down with a coke but they didn't have any straws or to-go cups. I honestly can't drink out of any restaurant glass with a bare mouth.

Yelp
I discovered Pie Pushers a few months back on the Durham Food Tour. The experience was great then so it has been on my list to return. So it was the perfect spot to dine before seeing 1776 at DPAC. Pie Pushers is on the second story and stairs are the only way to reach the restaurant so the venue might not be accessible to everyone. I liked the decor and there is a Where's Waldo figurine too. So try to find it when you are there. The staff is very friendly and helpful here. They have actual menus and a big menu on the wall behind the cash register. You can order just a slice; a half pie or a full pie. Gluten free is an option for the crust. You can create your own pizza from the toppings or choose from the specialty pizzas. Besides pizza, you can get sandwiches, salads and wings. Ordering is done at the counter and they give you a number and will bring your order to the table. I ordered the Spinach and Ricotta half of a pie pie so that was four slices of a normal pizza. I didn't think I could eat it all but it was just so good that I ate all four slices and enjoyed every bite. The pizza was cooked perfectly and just the right amount of each topping. I also saw that on Fridays and Saturdays they had strawberry shortcake so I just had to try that too. It was bigger than I expected with two warm biscuits, strawberries and whipped cream. I think it was homemade whipped cream as it was delicious and I don't normally like whipped cream. I couldn't finish the dessert but really enjoyed the strawberries and whipped cream. I will definitely be back to try some of the other pizzas and items on the menu.

Yelp
Decided to check out pie pushers after passing them a few times over the yearish that I've been here. What I noticed first was the awesome way that you walk in. There's a door on the side of another storefront that you think leads into that store, but actually, it leads to a staircase that takes you up to Pie Pushers. I am a sucker for a cute hidden spot! Next, I noticed the great customer service. Everyone was so nice and all smiles. They answered all of our questions and were so accommodating. My friend ended up getting a slice of the Sicilian and their cheese fries. And I got their salad and a slice of pepperoni and Sicilian. Honestly I wasn't a super fan of the pizza. However, their salad and fries were amazing! Instead of getting their "normal" cheese fries my friend got their fries with green onions, cheddar cheese, and goat cheese. Everything came together so well and the fries were super crispy!! Wow! And the Caesar salad was obviously house made with super creamy dressing and crunchy lettuce and croutons. I had to stop myself from finishing it before the pizza came! These two items shined way above their pizza and I would so come back for these. The pizza lacked a lot of flavor and the Sicilian had way too much bread for me. It was literally a thin layer of cheese and sauce and then a thick TX toast size of bread. It wasn't my jam, unfortunately. I would come back for the sides and the service!

Yelp
COOL pizza joint. CREATIVE stone oven pizzas. This was my first visit and we only experienced one pie so take this review with a grain of salt. It was tasty but I wouldn't order same pie again. URBAN SHROOM Olive oil, mushrooms, herbs, garlic, pecorino, mozzarella, topped with arugula and a white sauce they call "Alabama drizzle". This is a thin crust pizza. It has real garlic cloves, which is delicious, but not the lie to choose on a date if you want to protect your breath. The Alabama Drizzle reminded me of salad dressing...think creamy garlic dressing.

Samantha R.

Yelp
Love Pie Pushers! It's in a great location in downtown Durham and always convenient. The pizzas we ordered came out quickly. The seating area is open and there is tons of natural light and plenty of places to sit. I noticed a bunch of folks here on their work breaks eating. It seems like a popular spot. The quality and flavor of the pizza were superb! My favorite was the pizza with the goat cheese and pesto with yummy fresh tomatoes.

Leandro D.

Yelp
This place always hit the spot in downtown durham. Convenient and fast and the second floor has plenty of seating if you are dining in with a group.

Destiny H.

Yelp
I ordered a half Buffalo Chicken Pizza (only $8). The pizza was mildly spicy with a ranch drizzle and fresh scallion garnish. This flavor was very fresh and tasty, but I found myself craving more spice. For spicy food lovers, this is a great option. My order was ready within 10 min of placing my order and was it and fresh upon arrival. I received excellent customer service and I will return to try the Chicken Alfredo pizza.

MaraLee L.

Yelp
Pretty good for a fast bite to eat in the city. We were there during weird hours, so we were able to walk right up and order. We each got slices with toppings, Hawaiian (no judgement, it's yummy) and pepperoni. I will say for the price you get some good sized slices! After we orders, the food came out hot and fast! I wouldn't say this was my favorite pizza ever, the crust was kinda bland, it was great for the price. I do wish I had taken some more time to look over the menu and maybe tried something else. Their garlic rolls looked amazing. I think if I came back, I'd give the calzone a try. Still, all in all it was a nice chill place to grab a quick bite before heading out to explore. Great for kids and groups.

Yelp
The best food, service, friendly ambience, deals - easily my favorite spot in downtown Durham. Cozy walk up joint with a tasteful brick wall, one of the few places you can still order pizza by the slice. If only they could be open later. Shoutout to the friendly and professional team that helps this stellar operation run!!

Brian R.

Yelp
Hear about Pie Pushers on IG (Many great reviews, and many recommended). I can honestly tell everyone that those reviews were "100%" Accurate!!!!!! I'm giving 5 stars because I can't give more! The only slight problem (for some) is a walk up stairs into the restaurant. Total spent was $40 for (get this!) 1/2 Specialty Pie, Full Pie (3 additions), Side salad, and a brownie!!!!!! Pies were so very delicious, salad was great, and Brownie was scrumptious. Cashier was so very friendly, awesome, and helpful. Above All it's my favorite "Pizza" Place in Durham (The BullCity)!!!!!

Christine A.

Yelp
The Caesar is generous and fresh slices of parm make it yummy. Great thin crust and lovely nostalgic run for us

Kellie D.

Yelp
I have been gluten free for eight years and this is by far the best gluten free pizza I have ever eaten. Most pizza places, even ones that have excellent regular pizza, pre-purchase gF crusts which often taste like cardboard. Not so at Pie Pushers. You could tell the crust was homemade. I ordered a half of the Queen Anne and it was fabulous -- thin, crispy crust loaded with flavorful toppings. Husband and I ordered the fried Brussels sprouts to share. They were great and the portion size was good. Husband ordered a slice of two of the specialty pizzas of the day -- the Cubano and the Local Firsthand -- and enjoyed the unique combinations. Service was friendly and food came out super fast and hot. Can't wait to try another pizza soon.

Dave M.

Yelp
The Breakfast pie was really nice. Bacon, sausage, and potatoes (who knew?!?) go together seamlessly. Thinner crust, a restrained amount of sauce (appreciated), and a healthy allotment of cheese make it a winner in my book.

Kiki H.

Yelp
We were just out and about and saw this place. We decided to give it a try. They have a nice variety of pizza toppings. The Brussels sprouts were delicious. Everyone after us ordered wings. I'm definitely returning to try the wings.

Robin A.

Yelp
Very possibly the best GLUTEN FREE pizza I have ever had. Crust is incredible. The Buffalo Chicken is YUM! I'll keep coming back for more!

Teddy J.

Yelp
SATURDAY LUNCH DATE: We drove from Knightdale, NC, to experience Pie Pushers for the first time. There were no disappointments. The greeting, staff, service, food, and environment were all enjoyable. The pizza was perfect- not greasy, crust cooked evenly (unburnt), with quality toppings. The salad and wings (cooked extra crispy per our request) exceeded expectations. We'll definitely be visiting again on our #FoodieCheatDay

Alicia J.

Yelp
My family and I needed a quick bite to eat after shopping/exploring in the area and I glad we stopped in. The inside is very cozy and on the smaller side but still plenty of tables. We ordered the baked wings and a whole Big Meaty pie. The pizza was tasty and did not skimp on the toppings. My family and I enjoyed the thin crispy crust. Their baked wings featured the special rub. Although the wings were big and juicy I didn't care for the hint of sweetness on them. Overall it was a delicious meal!

Heather M.

Yelp
IMHO, this is the best gluten-free pizza in Durham. Period. Lots of fun, specialty pizza options and tasty wings. My only critical feedback is to have a gluten-free bread option for the sandwiches.

Logan L.

Yelp
What I like about Pie Pushers is that you can find affordable yet high quality and tasty options. It's centrally located in downtown and now that their indoor dining is back open, it's great for a weeknight casual dinner or a weekend night out. I ordered a classic pepperoni slice and tried one of the weekly specialty slices. Both had great flavor but the specialty slice really stood out to me. It had a unique but amazing combination of toppings. I've had their cheese and pepperoni before and although good, nothing stands out. Therefore I recommend their specials. You can't beat the prices for cheese and pepperoni however so that makes them worth it. I also ordered a side of the Brussels and for $5, it came with enough to share with the table. (The sauce that comes with the Brussels is excellent).

Jane M.

Yelp
We read all about Pie Pushers before we ever stepped onto the sidewalks of Durham. We are in town often to visit our daughter and have enjoyed take out from Pie Pushers twice already. In this Covid world they are only doing take out. Being a tainted native New Yorker I am very skeptical of pizza outside of the Tri-state area. New Haven beats all by the way! But....Pie Pushers does a great job. The staff is friendly and attentive, even remembers our daughter's puppy Rex! Try it you won't be disappointed, a slice or a pie, you can't go wrong.

E M.

Yelp
Probably my favorite pizza in Durham! The price was fair and affordable, highly recommend!

Andrea H.

Yelp
Showed up there late on a Saturday night. This place is a second floor establishment so the best seats are at the window tables. I appreciated that they had a gluten-free crust option so I chose that for the half a pie size. I added mushrooms as my topping. The gluten-free crust was decent and they loaded on the mushrooms as if it was the last day on earth. He had the half portion of 'Barbs Margherita' which he did enjoy. Even the half portion IS HUGE so beware if you get a whole pie. It was ready pretty fast. He got a beer and I got a soda so it was good to see they had alcoholic beverage options. The crowd was an interesting mix of people- date night, girls night, semi- drag queens, a table of single guys. Fairly eclectic and unexpected.

Samantha W.

Yelp
I tried this place for the first time and it was really good! I ordered the baked wings (sweet & spicy) and a whole winter porker (pepperoni, bacon, red onions, mushrooms, and garlic). Let me start by saying the wings are EXCELLENT. Not over cooked but charred to perfection with a hint of sweet then spicy. The pizza was also really good but I think I would try a different one next time but my boyfriend loved this pizza. I also want to try different things like the poutine or fried Brussel Sprouts but I didn't think those would travel well. I can't wait to explore this menu more... it was my first time here so I can't wait to order more from here!

Wendi S.

Yelp
This was a great find. The pizza was delicious. The restaurant is cute. The service was terrific. We will definitely make the trip back to Durham to eat here.

Sevana W.

Yelp
How is this place not better-known?? Stopped by here on a whim for a friend's birthday dinner and ended up enjoying the best pizza I've had in town so far. We shared the Shroom Lovers pizza (arugula, mushrooms, and "Alabama Sauce"), fried Brussels sprouts, and garlic knots. All were incredible: warm, fresh and so flavorful. I'll definitely be back this summer!!

Alex F.

Yelp
Really great thin crust pizza. Visiting from tristate area so we know pizza, and I can say this place does it well! They were really kind too

Aditya C.

Yelp
This place is awesome. My girlfriend and I disagree on pizza often, but this place is always satisfies us both. Always something tasty on the menu.

Jessica H.

Yelp
This place has good pizza in general, but their brunch is extra delicious. They have a lot of options like breakfast pizza, or poutine with an egg on top. I opted for the "bottom of your shoe" pizza with green olives and sundried tomatoes. The crust is delicious and the pizza is unique and flavorful. I have also tried their salads and various loaded tots, and always enjoy everything. The location is cute and funky- I love the neon signs as you enter the building and walk up the stairs. The cashiers are always friendly, and the food comes out fairly quickly. I have also gotten delivery from them and it was quick and accurate. I'm a fan!

Luz R.

Yelp
I ordered a cheese pie and it felt like the closest thing to a New York slice. Thin crust, slightly toasted but soft enough to fold and the ration of cheese and sauce tasted perfect. Chefs kiss** ‍ it was so good I forgot to take a picture of it!

Monica M.

Yelp
So, I didn't actually try one of their pizzas, though my friend did and she didn't say that it was anything special. We went by during brunch so I decided to get their Eggs Benedict off their Saturday Brunch Menu. Though the eggs was perfectly poached, the hollandaise sauce didn't have much flavor so that was a bit disappointing. I did enjoy their fried spuds side though. The service though quick wasn't very friendly and the food was nothing to write home about.

Glenn G.

Yelp
There are several upscale pizza places nearby but it never hurts to have a great casual pizza joint near local bars. We've been following Pie Pushers since they were just a food truck. There pizzas are solid and consistent but this review is for their Saturday brunch. They have several great brunch options that are delicious and filling (I don't want to know how many calories, though. I had the Jack Hacker which is pizza crust covered in cheese and potatoes and topped with an egg. I was expecting this crust but this thing was massive. I was full for most of the rest of the day. I believe they only do brunch on Saturdays but it's worth a stop for a great, filling breakfast.

Steven J.

Yelp
Pie Pusher's is a conveniently located Pie shop in the middle of downtown Durham. It's very handy if you live downtown, particularly at OCC. I've ordered single pepperoni slices, a big meaty pizza, sausage gravy poutine and garlic knots. In the year I spent living in downtown Durham I ordered frequently from Pie Pushers. While they were the most convenient for me, they were also the most volatile of all the pizza restaurants I tried. If I ordered a full or half Big Meaty it was always good. If you order slices, you'll typically get an undercooked, greasy slice. The appetizers have been average in my experience and the one time I ordered sausage garlic knots I actually got pesto knots, which was disappointing. All in all, Pie Pushers is one of those places where if you get something and love it, only get that. You'll most likely end up disappointed ordering other items off the menu.

richard d.

Yelp
Solid for delivery! Good selection of pizzas and I wasn't upset at the cost. Delivery showed up on time and the pizza wasn't cold

Michelle K.

Yelp
Called 20min prior to closing and was told they are not accepting orders. I asked if I could walk in since I was 2 blocks away and they said no. If your store is open until 11 but you only accept orders or customers until 10:30, do yourself a favor and say that somewhere so there aren't expectations of really being open until 11pm.

Juyoung S.

Yelp
Love this local pizza place! You can get a slice for a few bucks ($3 for cheese/pepperoni) or get a whole pizza to share with friends. In addition to their specialty pies, they rotate a variety of pizzas you can get slices of so you can always try something new here! They also have wings, and the wings are only 50 cents on Wednesdays! They also offer Saturday Brunch, which might be my favorite?! Their brunch menu varies from typical breakfast/brunch foods such as biscuits and gravy/omelets to more unique options like the breakfast pizza slice and the Jack Hacker, which is a thick slice of Sicilian pizza with lots of yummy things like gravy, bacon, cheese, etc. (SO GOOD; best thing I've eaten here). On my list to try are: deep fried devito and sausage gravy poutine!

Allison C.

Yelp
Cozy spot with average pizza and prices. They're open late on weekends, which is a good strategy on their part because I would only ever come here for a late night slice after visiting a few bars/breweries. The place is on the second floor and sort of difficult to find from the outside. One other reviewer mentioned this - the cashier guy was impatient and looked pissed off and was borderline rude. Plus at around midnight, most of their flavors that you could buy by the slice were gone, so I ended up getting plain pepperoni and I'm normally vegetarian so yeah not ideal. Maybe if I got one of the more interesting options I would've been more impressed.

Kendra A.

Yelp
Finally got around to trying out Pie Pushers when we had a bad experience at our regular pizza place. I was so excited to see that they serve pizza by the slice! Upon walking in, we stood in line for a few minutes which gave us a chance to peruse the menu and make our final decisions of what we wanted to eat. I ended up getting a slice of spinach and ricotta pizza, it was huge and delicious. I also got a small house salad, which was also pretty large and filling. I really like the atmosphere of Pie Pushers, pretty casual, everyone was very friendly, but it also felt very clean and well taken care of. We had a really great experience here and I am looking forward to coming back soon!

Mj R.

Yelp
Vegetarian: I had a Sicilian Cheese Slice, which is similar to a deep dish pizza. The crust is thicker than a regular slice and it's cut in a rectangular shape, the portion was smaller than expected. It was really tasty because their sauce is flavorful and compliments the cheese well. I would eat it again, it sort of reminds me of lasagna. My sister had the cheese pocket, which is what they call their calzones. The pocket was better than the pizza and that really surprised me. They have about 6 different vegetarian pizza options. I'm excited to try more of them and I would recommend Pie Pushers for other vegetarians with one warning: do not order the basil pesto garlic knots. They tasted like dried out spinach with waaay too much basil. Vegan: Sorry to report that not even the salads are vegan. Gluten Free: They have a gluten-free crust but I don't think it is available by the slice. They cost an extra $2-$4. I didn't try it so I can't report on the taste. Service: You order at the counter and then pick it up when they call you. The cashier was very helpful with recommendations and patient while we made our decisions. Overall: I would return, they have a nice casual atmosphere. They aren't weird about their employees having piercings and tattoos and I appreciate that in a restaurant.

Kong L.

Yelp
This is not a bad place to visit if you are craving for pizza. It's easy to miss since the shop is upstairs so please look carefully. There's a small door by the bar that will lead you up the stairs. I stopped in for a slice of pizza and I enjoyed it. It was unique with a nice crispy crunch. The slice was enough to give me energy for a quick run. It was $3-4 for a single slice which is a bit steep for a small, thin slice of pizza. Although it was small, it was unique. That was the selling point! Great customer service overall! I can not wait to stop here to share a pie with a friend. I think that' she better deal.

Trisha L.

Yelp
OMG Pie Pushers has the best pizza you could ever hope to put in your mouth! For real!! I thought they just had a food truck, I had no idea they had a restaurant. I wish they would open a location close to my house! They offer specialty pizzas and toppings that you won't see elsewhere. You can even order a whole pizza that is half one type of specialty and half another type of specialty. They also have great draft beers. Perfect casual date spot!

Sean L.

Yelp
I like Pie Pushers more than the other 2 nearby sit down pizza spots, Pompieri Pizza and Pizzeria Toro. I like how you can order by the slice at Pie Pushers though the pizza itself is pretty similar to Pompieri. I really love their wings which are big and juicy. Be warned, the hot pepa habanero wings are quite spicy though there's plenty of other flavors. The pizza is slightly on the greasy side but the ingredients are high quality and the taste is mouth watering. You can also find the pie pushers food truck around the area as well.

Brad B.

Yelp
Easy to go ordering and very friendly during pick up. The pizza was a little disappointing. I'll give them another try again but it won't be the State of Nirvana pizza because I found it to be a bit bitter.

Matt M.

Yelp
Picked up a veggie supreme and big meaty pizza here the other night and really enjoyed it!! They have a pickup window right out front which made it super easy to place an order and pickup. The ingredients of each pizza were super flavorful and the NY style crust was to die for!! We are just visiting Durham but would definitely recommend Pie Pushers to anyone looking for good pizza in the area!

Wells L.

Yelp
TL:DR - floppy grainy crust. 1243 was interesting but overall bland and unbalanced proportion of toppings. Queen Anne was a win with a great garlic goat cheese flavor profile. Quick delivery but overall high price point. Pie pushers came as a recommendation. We got delivery and did half a queen Anne and a 1243. Out of the two the queen Anne was better. The garlic flavor really came through and it tasted great with the goat cheese and basil. We got the 1243 cause it was the most interesting with the bell peppers, pistachios, and meat. But it was really just kid of everywhere. The pistachios seemed out of place and didn't really add much. The caramalized onions and meat combo were great but the amount of peppers was too much and half my pizza was crunchy peppers. Needed to be better balanced with the other toppings. The crust was also a thinner grainier crust that really wasn't doing it for me. It was too floppy to give my slice any support or structure. It didn't have much substance or flavor. It was just kind of there cuz it was expected to be, not because it added anything. I will say the delivery was super quick though. Again, as with much of the food I've had this far, it's a pricier product that didn't meet it's value.

Alex H.

Yelp
Yum!!!! Came here for a late night snack after checking out one of the local breweries. This place is very cool because they offer not only selected slices but also HALF pizzas. Yes. Half pizzas. Their full pizzas are 16" (8 slices) so the half pizza is half that (duh). They have a super interesting pizza with corn on it...it was delicious....made even more delicious by the addition of bacon. Just do it. Order the corn pizza with bacon. It's so worth it. The crust is delicious here. I'm kinda pizza picky and this place was tasty! I'll definitely be back!

Tammy H.

Yelp
Great for some late night pizza that hits the spot. The entrance is easy to miss, and you go up a staircase up to the second floor. The inside of the restaurant is kind of grungy, and could be a bit cleaner. Also, towards the end of the night, they were out of all pizzas except cheese and pepperoni. Also, even though it says they are open until 2AM, the actual seating space of the restaurant is actually only open until 11PM; you can order some to-go food until 2AM though, but you need to wait outside on the street.

Dan H.

Yelp
Love their brunch menu, now if only they were open Sundays for Brunch too. I really tried out Pie Pushers for a Saturday late lunch and to check out their current brunch menu. I had tried going to brunch there on a sunday not too long ago only to discover they are now closed Sundays for brunch sadly. Hopefully they will chance that. Luckily they were open for brunch on Saturday and their current brunch menu is awesome. I got the "Jack Hacker" which is listed as "THICK SLICE OF SICILIAN PIZZA PIE TOPPED WITH OUR COUNTRY SAUSAGE GRAVY, BACON, CHEDDAR, ROASTED POTATO, FRESH RED ONION & A SUNNY-SIDE UP EGG". Sounds good, right? It's amazing. It's similar to biscuits and gravy with a lot more breakfast stuff on top. There's a load of interesting concoctions on their brunch menu and that's the best feeling when you walk into a restaurant and there's multiple things on the menu vying for your stomach's attention. I really like breakfast food and I love that Pie Pushers has put attention into making a brunch menu that's the best of both breakfast and pizza. Of course they still offer their regular menu during brunch hours but they do a really interesting brunch and I don't think many people know this beyond they breakfast pizza on their menu that they also sell at the Farmer's Market on Saturday mornings. Pie Pushers is located in a walk-up location right off Main Street in a lovely exposed brick style place. It's the perfect kind of place to grab something to eat and then take a quick walk around downtown Durham.
