Here Are the Best Takeout and Delivery Restaurant Options in Detroit | Eater Detroit

"A pizzeria with locations in Woodbridge and Oak Park known for a whimsical, rotating menu of creative pies—an experimental, ever-changing approach that makes pickup interesting for those seeking inventive square and specialty pizzas rather than the usual chains." - Serena Maria Daniels

Pie Sci has opened a second location for carry-out pizza in Oak Park | Eater Detroit

"A second location opened on Saturday, February 10 at 8140 W. Nine Mile Road. This carry-out–only outpost mirrors the original's experimental, rotating pizza menu and tongue-in-cheek menu names; the current selection is limited but the shop will post updates about new menu availability on its Instagram page." - Serena Maria Daniels

Pie sci offer unique ingredients and combination like tofu bacon, fig , sweet potato, and etc. They have vegan ingredients too. I was skeptical at some of the combination but it turns out good. Their pepperoni pizza remind me old Papa John. 2000s Papa John's. Which is very good.

I’ve had Pie Sci Pizza on my radar for some time now, however seems like I always catch them on off hours. Over the past few months I have been trying to sample various Detroit Deep Dish square pizza in its’ various incarnations. Let’s say I’m quite pleased. I found the ingredients to be a higher quality and the depth of their menu wide (not including weekly specials). The jury is out on the 5th star only because I don’t want my initial impression to bias anything; I’ll reevaluate down the road. I will say they are playing in the major leagues in terms of execution. The Oak Park location has a fun and upbeat vibe with a clean and modern interior with a vibrant street graffiti art motif on the exterior. It’s pick up only unless you count the bench up front as done-in. Probably because of that fact alone it won’t get a 5th star because it’s not a complete dining experience. In terms of taste I’d say 5 though (initial impression). Let’s see what the road ahead holds. We’re off to a good start.

I ordered from them yesterday, and it was wonderful. We got 2 vegan pizzas and vegan cheesy bread all with homemade cashew cheese and the food was delicious. They said it'd be ready in 30 minutes and they were just finishing it up as I walked in. They were playing MCR and everyone was smiling, couldn't ask for a better experience. Will definitely be on a regular place I order from

Love the new location!! Pie Sci has been a great Detroit staple and I’m so happy to have it here in Oak Park. We ordered 3 pizzas and a vegan cheese bread and all of them came out perfect, just as we expect from the original location. They have vegan, vegetarian, and gluten free options, so pretty much anyone can eat here. Thank you for offering so many options. ❤️🍕

I really wanted to like this pizza. I know I ordered on opening day but I really expected the pizza to still be relatively good. I ordered two larges, my round was extremely burned and charred. The square was dry and extremely crunchy to the point where it was tough to eat. Both pizzas lacked any sauce of any sort. I'm trying to be understanding with Pie Sci just opening but I ordered from Rocco's down the street when they just opened for business and it was fantastic. I'm reviewing this pizza as is, face value and I received extremely charred and dry pizza's. I would assume the people cooking would notice this before putting it in the box... I'll wait a little bit and try Pie Sci again, but I was really disappointed.

I'd ordered pizza from here once before and it was great - got here pretty quick and tasted great. I was excited to order it again. This time the delivery is over an hour late and there's still no sign of showing up. No pizza is that good.

I ordered the bear pizza and (unbeknownst to me, because they aren’t listed as individual ingredients) it comes with pickled carrots, cauliflower and red peppers. Called and told them I had those exact ingredients and the woman told me to bring it back. Once I brought it back, they said it’s supposed to be there. It’s an ingredient listed under a different name. It’s not good, and they offered no substitute. They also told me the woman didn’t inform me that that’s how it usually comes because it’s hard to visualize over the phone… not sure why it needs to be visualized. I expected more paying $50 for 2 pizzas. I really wanted to love them because I’ve heard good reviews.

Google
Pi Sci was very disappointing for all the hype it receives. Cheese Pizza - Good flavored square pie. $3 for beef pepperoni and you only get two one each slice (~19¢/slice) which is sad. Bread Sticks - Terrible. Extremely thin and hard as a rock. Most of them were inedible. The garlic cream cheese was pretty good but nothing special. Cinnamon (Evil) Bread - Looked about 50x better than it tasted. At times it felt like I was doing the 2012 cinnamon challenge. This was also way too much bread, could’ve used some of it on the normal breadsticks.
