15 Warming Dishes For Big Coat Season - London - The Infatuation

"“I’ll have the pie” really rolls off the tongue when you’re in an era that is defined by the fact that you’ve named your electric blanket. Give ‘Leccy Lucy’ the night off with a trip to Quo Vadis, a British restaurant that’s all crimson banquettes, Soho spirit, and suet crust. This bolthole of bliss practically has a PhD in the honourable art of slurpable stock and thanks to the glacial martinis and gossip-primed setting, it’s also worthy of winter’s landmark moment—debuting your new big coat." - heidi lauth beasley, jake missing, rianne shlebak

This is a great bakery specializing in mini-pies. They had an extensive offering of pies, including key lime pie, raspberry cheesecake, apple pie, and more. The pies were good, but didn't seem quite fresh. We took ours to go and ate outside by the windowsill.

Google
First time checking it out. We are trying to support more places in our neighborhood. We tried the peanut butter smore pie and the key lime. Loved the key lime. They were also just really nice. And let us know they have a changing table for our new baby in the handicap accessible bathroom. Would recommend and will be back ❤️

Google
Oh my God! The pie that they just recommended to me is the best pie I ever had in my life. I’m not even joking. Lemon raspberry with their special pour over coffee. 10/10 would recommend

Google
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Pure Pie Love! 🥧 Pie Time is one of those rare gems that feels like a warm hug the moment you walk in. The pies are incredible: truly homemade, with that comforting, just-out-of-the-oven flavor you only get from someone who really cares about what they’re baking. Whether you’re grabbing a savory option or something sweet, every bite tastes like it was made with love. But what really makes this place special is the kindness. You’re always greeted with a genuine smile, and the whole vibe is just… happy. It’s not just a place to get pie, it’s a little pocket of joy in your day. Highly recommend stopping by! Your heart and your taste buds will thank you.

Google
Their bourbon pecan pie is genuinely one of the best pies I’ve ever had. The egg and cheese on a homemade biscuit is also a solid go-to. You can tell the owner really cares about the business and puts a lot of love into the food.

Google
Stumbled on this place the other day while visiting clients in Baltimore. I was pleasantly surprised to find such a nice coffee shop with good food. I had a latte there and took home chicken pot pie and apple pie as well as a bag of coffee beans for my espresso maker. I wasn’t a fan of the apple pie, not sweet enough for me. But that chicken pot pie warmed in the air fryer was an 8 out of 10. Delicious!!!! I’ll be here every time i’m in the neighborhood.

Google
This place is so fun! A nice variety of sweet and savory pies. We had the Plueberry (peaches and blueberry) and the chicken pot pie. We didn’t realize the savory pies had to be heated up once you get home, but the friendly staff member gave us tips on how best to enjoy our selections, can’t wait to come back!

Google
This a great place for breakfast/brunch! They have amazing breakfast sandwiches and coffee. The space is also great if you have kids -they have a lot of good games, toys and books.

Yelp
I've been patronizing this spot since it was a tent under a bridge. It's excellent. I just returned from picking up my CSA at the shop, and I was reminded of the importance of places like this. Pie Time remains a bastion of the community, supporting local farms with a seasonal menu while offering a curated selection of well-crafted goods. I love the pies here, but other baked goods, like donuts and peach tarts often posted on their social media, occasionally steal the show. Their coffee is similarly creative, offering innovative lattes. You'll have to read about that in another review, though, because I stick to the flavorful Americano. This place is a gem; you'll see me here once a week. There's no other place like it.

Yelp
Pie time has a small selection of sweet and savory pies. I had a bacon egg & cheese on Texas toast, flat white, and key lime. The menu has a large sign saying whole milk only, but it wasn't until after I ordered that I saw you could swap for oat milk for 50 cents. I wish that sign was bigger. The food was cold and took a long time to heat up/ seemed like the workers were put out that we wanted hot food... I was not impressed by the service despite the fact that the place itself is cute. It felt like just being there was a hassle. I liked how different the flavors are, and I really enjoyed my key lime pie and appreciated that they had their list of vendors public. I thought the coffee and pie was... fine for the price. I don't think I would go here again.

Yelp
I've passed the Pie Time while walking in this area and thought it looked cute. I stopped by for breakfast after spending the night at a friend's place who lives nearby. Though I walked here, you can find street parking in the area though it is limited and you will likely be circling several blocks before finding something (and please check signage restrictions). Pie Time is really meant as a to-go shop as there is very limited seating, just 4 tables as well as a bench. They do have wifi but I would not say with such limited seating that this is a place to study/work at. They do have a drink promotion with a punch card where after you buy 10, you get a drink free + 30% off a bakery item. The ingredients are locally sourced and there is information present on where they are from. They also have a local bulletin board with local events that I think is good for the community to find established third spaces. Alternative milks cost $0.50 extra. I paid a little over $20 for the three items below, which I also think is pricy for what I ordered. Hot Chai Latte w/ whole milk 1.5/5, this drink was sadly disappointing. While it was hot, there was virtually no taste of chai present. This tasted like hot milk with just a sprinkling of cinnamon / chai over it as opposed to a chai latte. Apple Pie 3/5, this was an average apple pie, I think it could have been improved by adding something like cinnamon to it to enhance flavoring Pumpkin Pie 4/5, this was good, I did think it was small, however. The pumpkin spice flavor was present throughout though the dough of the pie was unevenly textured throughout (some parts soft, some parts hard).

Yelp
One of my favorite morning treats in town. The bacon, egg, and homemade biscuit hits every time, and their bourbon pecan pie is genuinely one of the best pies I've ever had. Coffee's consistently good too. You can tell the owner really cares--there's passion behind everything here. Has a cozy Brooklyn-meets-small-town Americana with a dash of garage sale vibe.

Yelp
Boyfriend decided to try Pie Time for the first time for breakfast. We really wanted to like Pie Time as it's in our neighborhood and wanted to support a local business. He ordered an egg sandwich for himself, an everything bagel and nitro cold brew for me, and an order of breakfast potatoes to share. His sandwich was very sad looking. A very small amount of scrambled egg placed between two slices of bread. According to him, the egg tasted like fake egg, like what you would get at Dunkin or 7-11. The potatoes were good at first but left an odd after taste. The cold brew is incredibly bitter. Even after adding milk I wasn't able to drink it. The everything bagel was good once roasted but a little chewy. It was very expensive for what we received.

Yelp
I came to Pie time yesterday and enjoyed my selects. The cinnamon coffee cake was my favorite piece and I also ordered an iced chai tea which I felt was ok. It felt really watered down so I probably won't add too much ice next time. This was a nice spot to WFH at if you wanted to. The employees are cool and it is very well kept inside. I do think I need to come back and try a different snack and drink all together but I still don't think anything I tried was bad.

Yelp
Great service, great coffee and great selection of baked goods! My favorite is their buttermilk biscuit!

Yelp
This is my third time at Pie Time! We moved to the area in January of this year, and so far I have tried a few gems here! The mini Chicken Pot Pie was super good, very savory stuffed with fresh herbs! My partner tried the carne asada pie which he crushed(I assume it was great!) I have tried a regular latte which was pretty good, but the pies are definitely the best thing here! Highly recommend if you're in the area! It's a small cozy spot, so make sure to come early if you wanna grab a table (they can probably seat about 12-15 people inside). They even have a little freezer for pies to go!

Jason H.

Yelp
Stopped by to grab a quick snack, was a little disappointed with the overall quality and taste. The Owner did not seem to be in too good of a mood today, he seemed very upset over politics.
google avatar

Yelp
A really tiny bakery/coffee shop, they have just a few seats indoors. I was excited to try this place as pie is my favorite dessert. To that end, they had a bunch of berry slices to choose from any I had blueberry. It was served cold but it is flavorful and I liked it. I had my usual latte and it was just ok. The barista was friendly but used tall coffee mugs instead of the latte cups they had. Not sure why. He over textured the milk and was not really able to produce any art. The flavor was a little too bright for my taste but it was ok. The pie was very good so overall it is a good but not as great as I was hoping.

Yelp
I decided to revisit Pie Time today. I ordered the chicken pot pie again and the apple pie. The chicken pot pie hasn't changed a bit. I was not a fan of the apple pie. The crust was good but the apple was thinly sliced and almost mushy. There were two people working when I visited. I was the only customer at the time. I wasn't greeted and the atmosphere seemed stale, nothing like my first visit over a year ago. I came close to leaving without ordering anything but I was hungry.

Yelp
Aw, man - I really wanted to like Pie Time, but, unfortunately, our experience was super lackluster... Pie Time offers both sweet and savory pies, and there seems to be a traditional fruit, dessert, and savory hand pies that could appease anyone's taste. We actually got there a few minutes until closing and almost cried, as we were told that they were closed. However, the employee seemed to have changed their mind and stated that we could purchase frozen pies to go. There were some inaccurate information and confusion, since we were led to believe only frozen pies were available; however, we pointed out that there were some behind the case. The employee quickly backtracked and stated that those were the last remaining ones, which ended up being the Old Fashioned Apple and the Oat Slam. We asked if they were warm still, and the response was yes - however, they were actually cold and seemed like they were refrigerated, so I'm sure they could have been better if we had heated them up? I'm thinking that it's best to call ahead and reserve pies or go earlier in the day to make sure you get some choices. I am curious about their savory pies, such their Traditional Chicken Pot Pie and the Beef Bourguignon. Maybe next time? Limited street parking available. +confusing/inaccurate interaction with staff +go earlier for pies or call ahead +limited street parking

Yelp
Adding more to my previous review because I just love it so much. Pie Time is charming and cozy place to go to get high quality food. I have never been disappointed in the food I get and can only sing their praises on the quality of their house made chicken sausage. The spices are perfect. It's a great balance of pepper, rosemary, and other deliciousness. We love to get their Sunday special of biscuits and gravy and add a chicken sausage on the side, and then split. For me, I can't eat a whole one because those biscuits are generous. But, as someone who lived in SC and NC for a total of 6 years these are authentic biscuits and IMO best in town. Highly recommend the biscuits and gravy special!! Also, I still love their lattes. Delicious and made with care. Staff is great too! Love that we live so close to them!

Yelp
A cute place to stop by for a mid afternoon treat: pie and coffee! We got the maple bourbon pecan chocolate pie and the tomato pie (a savory pie). We also got a coffee to wash it all down with! I really loved the maple bourbon pecan chocolate pie-- it tasted very rich with the chocolate pecan combo! I could even taste the bourbon! The tomato pie they kindly warmed up for us to eat there, it was also good! The pies are small, about the size of your palm, but they definitely filled me up! I look forward to trying other pies, especially future seasonal ones! There's plenty of indoor seating and it felt very cozy on a cold afternoon!

Yelp
Walked over for a late lunch, it was my first time stopping by and I am glad I did. The savory butter chicken pie was well seasoned and a creative way to enjoy a classic Indian cuisine. The location had plenty of indoor seating and large garage like windows for an indoor/outdoor flow.

Yelp
cute little neighborhood joint by patterson park. Coffee selection was solid ad made to order. The pie selection was decent. Smallish inside but enough to sit for a min and enjoy coffee, imo not really big enough to sit and get work done but a really cute spot. The staff were friendly and welcoming.

Yelp
A really wonderful addition to our lil' neighborhood. It's nice to have a local place to grab coffee and freshly baked pastries. I've loved watching (and sampling) as their menu has evolved and expanded beyond pie. (Fun fact: I was the second customer in line during their soft opening! They took my picture!) Pie Time's pies remain the standout superstar but I've loved trying their cookies and savory items, they recently added cheddar bacon breakfast biscuits so I feel we're getting closer to my dream being realized of having an exceptional breakfast sandwich place nearby ;-) I've always thought apple pie was simple and unexciting without ice cream. That was until I tried Pie Time's Old Fashioned version. The crust is flaky and complex with some salty components. The filling is densely packed with apples, thinly sliced and layered. I've tried almost all their pies (except the ones with nuts and berries due to my issues with seeds and nuts) and the apple, caramel pumpkin and lemon are my favorites.

Yelp
Coffee great quiche delicious! The peach pies very good. Bagel, salt very light but Chewy as a bagel should be. They are cooked fresh saturday.

Yelp
What in the name of Satan possessed these geniuses to make a mini s'mores custard pie? Please explain how I'm supposed to un big my back and keep my New Year's resolution when these fine people keep developing absurdly delicious pies.

Yelp
Dropped in early on a Saturday morning. The space is cute ,and they have plans to expand--yet some of the food items are underwhelming. I would return to see how they grow and improve. GLOWS: -Chicken pot pie was quite tasty! It was small but mighty. -outside is super cute! Nice design on building - They have hot and cold savory pies available- nice to be able to choose whether you want to eat it now or later--- I chose the hot! GROWS: - The apple pie was not very good. The slice on the apples was weird and too many apples packed inside (I prefer more crust. Someone else might like it) - They were out of several items that they had posted on their menu. I came for a specific item and was not able to get it. This was 1.5 hours after opening, so I get the sense they did not have it to begin with. - The pies don't appear to have a baking schedule, meaning they are most likely not baked fresh the morning of.

Yelp
I don't think this place gets enough hype. It's a small coffee/pie shop, another good spot to make as your coffee-appointment place or to get a small pie and catch up on work. The inside is narrow, with limited seating. Street parking is available outside the cafe.
google avatar

Morgan K.

Yelp
Pies are moist, soft, perfectly sweet and overall delicious! I ordered a latte as well and was happy they have oat milk as a milk alternative. Coffee is good and the place itself is a very nice aesthetic. I will definitely return to try more pie options. The savory pies looked like great lunch options.

Yelp
Pie Time is such a wonderful addition to the Patterson Park neighborhood! Now with expanded hours, you can grab a cup of coffee in the mornings, sit in the back to do work, or just grab some pie in the afternoon to go with dinner. I've tried a few of their sweet pies (both in store and from the farmer's market) and all have been 10/10. Most recently, I had their mini lemon custard pie that made me want to melt inside. I told myself I would only eat a bite and save some for later...guess who ending up eating it all in one sitting OOPS. Best spot for pie in the city!
google avatar

Brittany F.

Yelp
Overpaid for what I coulda just got in the frozen aisle at the grocery store. Half my pie was burnt and I'm willing to bet was not made fresh. I will never order from here again. Save your money and just order a microwave pie from 7/11 if you want this quality of pie.
google avatar

Rakesh R.

Yelp
Great, friendly service and great selection of pies and other items. The coffee was great and the pie was good. I was underwhelmed by the apple pie. It was pretty good but not something I'd really go out of my way to order again. I'd stop by again when in the neighborhood though, for sure, as the coffee was really good and the staff was awesome.

Yelp
This is a great little neighborhood shop! Stopped in for the first time this morning for some savory pies and coffee. The shop is clean and modern and the guy behind the counter was super friendly and seems very genuine. There was a wide array of sweet and savory personal pies in the display case as well as full-sized pies. I could see the full-sized pies being something I would bring to a potluck or special occasion. I got a latte and the pork chili verde pie. I think the crust and filling could have used a bit more salt but overall it was tasty. The latte was delicious (they offer maple brown sugar sweetener) and the employee did some foam art for me which was really nice. Also, hats off to them for having biodegradable to-go cups! Always appreciate when a business has environmental values. Looking forward to patronizing this local business in the future and trying more pies!

Yelp
12/2: Good pie, great staff...thank you for coming to our neighborhood! First visit had an individual savory and sweet pie...mushroom bourgignon and caramel pumpkin. The dude in the GB Packers hat was lovely, legitimately happy to have and engage with customers :) The pumpkin was good, but the mushroom was great! And the espresso topped off the morning.

Tracy W.

Yelp
Maybe not the most renowned pie company in Baltimore, but by FAR the superior one. You must check out Pie Time!
google avatar

Victoria P.

Yelp
We've grabbed pies a few times and are always pleased with the taste (and price). My parents love the coffee. They're hard to please as Finlanders. I love the lattes. They're smooth.
google avatar

Michelle S.

Yelp
We tried the pork, duck and chicken hot water crust mini pies. All of them were very well seasoned and nicely moist inside. The hot water crust was delicious and crispy! We had the lemon and strawberry/rhubarb pies for dessert, both were tangy and delicious. I just wished that they stocked more full sized pies for pick up, frozen or pre-cooked.
google avatar

Grace M.

Yelp
Hats off to these guys, who helped save my husband's birthday when I showed up an hour after closing time on a Friday wanting to pick up some bourbon pecan pie. Truly appreciated the kind gesture and friendliness, esp on that third week post-partum for us when our night/day had been blended into timeless abyss of diaper change, nursing and soothing... Back to the pies: one word - the crust! The salty, crunchy kind that oozes w butter enfolded in properly. Among their sweets, the bourbon pecan is our favorite, though be warned that I chose to limit my serving during pregnancy due to its plentiful bourbon component. We also love the apple almond. In terms of the savories we've only tried their pork savory pie so far but we'd heartily recommend it. Will be returning shortly to try all the other items off their menu!

Yelp
We love the take-and-bake pulled pork and chicken pot pies!! The staff provided the baking instructions. They freeze really well, too!

Yelp

Yelp
This place is a gem! The folx behind the counter are so kind and helpful and everything I've had from there is super tasty!! Coffee, sweet pies, and savory pies alike! Glad this is in walking distance from my home!!!

Yelp
Pies and coffee are so amazing! A number of alternating savory, sweet and vegan options. Fern, Max and Casey are greats guys and were super helpful.

Yelp
Really nice cool people working there. Awesome cold brew and maple bourbon pecan pie. Great interior vibe. I couldn't have asked for more!
