"This is one of those shops that manages to embody an entire aesthetic sensibility: It feels like a glamorous, French-tinged beach house where everything is perfectly effortless, and, well, perfect. And like a beach house, there's kind of something for everyone, whether it's a pair of Anthony Nak or Irene Neuwirth earrings, a summery dress from Matta or Megan Park, or a green lacquer tray. There's also an impressive apothecary, packed with Cire Trudon candles and Diptyque eau de toilettes. "

Selection is outstanding and honestly one of the best boutiques New Orleans has to offer. Every time I come in town to visit I stop by and grab a few pieces. The quality is always top notch and the Owner has a great eye. I’ve never had an issue with customer service or redeeming a gift card and don’t expect fawning in a high end shop. They ask if you need help or are looking for anything and depending on the answer will let you browse in peace. The girlies that know, know.

Let me just start by saying this is my favorite store in New Orleans because of the chic and beautiful selection. However, this staff working in the store is horrific. They are cold, rude and do not care about their customers. I just waited outside of their store during holiday season for 20 minutes in the cold for them to open, I had to leave because I have many other things to do today. I’m giving them the benefit of the doubt and assuming there was an emergency or it was a slow day where they could not open on time, no big deal. Annoying but OK. However I will not get over the fact that they are so rude to their customers when shopping. I have spent a significant amount in this store and to be treated so poorly is insane to me. Pied Nu, do better.

In the three times I have visited Pied Nu, I was always met with the rudest customer service. The shopkeepers are stuck up and cold. The last time I visited the store, one of the ladies at the counter fussed at me for taking a picture of the book wall with the candles/perfume. I had intended to send it to my friend to see if she'd like me to get her a candle and if that was the brand she liked. In response, the lady at the counter said the owner is protective of her store. Okay? Then I just won't buy your stuff. You will receive warmer service at Pilot and Powell, Elle, Hemline, or literally any other store on Magazine.

This is one of the nicest boutiques in New Orleans! The owner has impeccable taste and has curated such a beautiful variety of clothing, jewelry, candles and gifts…. I bought one of my favorite dresses ever in this shop and have receive so many compliments each time I’ve worn it. A must stop shop every time I’m in town!

I purchased an in-season, full-priced dress from Pied Nu, through their online shopping platform called Garmentory. It didn't fit and I was given authorization to return it. Garmentory's return policy states that returns won't be accepted if shipped after seven days of receiving it (Pied Nu's is 14 days for credit only). Unfortunately I was late to ship it by one day and shipped it back on the 8th day. It was shipped right back to me with zero communication from Garmentory or Pied Nu themselves. It felt passive aggressive. Initially, I thought it was a mistake but quickly learned that it was denied when I reached out to CS. Garmentory didn't have any empathy or understanding and offered me a conciliatory $20 back to my account. I decided to reach out to Pied Nu directly to see if I could have an honest and open conversation about a resolution that would make us both feel better about this situation. But I was blatantly cut off by the woman on the phone and was immediately given the "we don't deal with Garmentory orders, you have to work with them directly" bit, and was completely disinterested in hearing a single word I had to say. It felt like the cold shoulder, and something I didn't deserve. I'm taking accountability for my mistake, and accept that I was denied my return. It didn't feel egregious, though, to kindly ask for an exception to be made on a very expensive, full-priced, in-season dress that I was a single day late on shipping back. I wanted to see if they'd work within their return policy and allow me store credit so I could, at the very least, have something I'd wear and enjoy. I wasn't given the opportunity to inquire or share any detail of my purchase with them. I feel like a one star review is warranted, because on a human level this experience made me feel very minimized. Their non-communicative actions felt evasive and really speaks volumes about how much they value customer relationships. Seeing as they were uninterested in hearing from me, maybe they'll see it here. In response to Pied Nu's response to my review: As a retailer who has partnered with platforms like Garmentory in the past, I understand how these transactions work on the back end and all I have left to say is: DO BETTER.

Doesn’t honor gift certificates. If the store would like the gift certificate to be used by a certain date, it should put an expiration date on the gift certificate. (Contrary to what the owner is saying, there was no expiration date on the certificate, and I was never notified of one having won the raffle for the gift certificate. I wouldn’t say it was very “gracious” of the owner to honor only half of the value.)

Zero stars if possible. Won gift card with no expiration date in raffle. Tried to redeem just over a year later, and they would honor only half the value. Will not be returning or recommending.

Such a lovely experience! Someone gave me a gift certificate for my birthday, and I spent it on a pair of jeans. The owner was very personable and help me throughout my shopping experience! I highly recommend shopping at Pied Nu!

Yelp
Pied Nu is a cute shop that is definitely geared towards a certain demographic and I am not that demographic. As much as I would love to spend $1400 on a silk dress, it's just not in my budget. Be that as it may, the items here are really lovely and worth the money, I think. They had sunglasses that were a few hundred dollars and equally expensive household items. The staff was very friendly and asked me if I needed help. I considered asking them if I could get a loan to buy some of their clothing, but I resisted. I probably won't shop here again, but that isn't their fault. This is a "it's not you, it's me" situation. I do love the layout of the store and the decor is just lovely. Really everything here is quite "high end" and the shopping experience feels special.

Yelp
A shop for the Uptown set- "ladies who like to do a lot of home entertaining" comes to mind as the demographic. On the first floor, you'll enter past the sweet shop keepers who'll welcome you from behind the counter to find racks of active wear. Head to the back and upstairs for the cornucopia of gifts that are just right for the chicas in your life who like costume jewelry and various other kinds of ornamentation (for the body and the home). I appreciate the quirky bird cage drawings and custom made party and go cups most of all. When I stopped in here last Christmas, I found a bunch of gifts for folks back home ranging from the elegant to the shabby chic. Fleur de lis and crown ornaments are always a pleaser.

Yelp
A candle was $83.... LOL. I make candles and a candle the size they sell literally costs less than $3. I don't care if the stupid candle is from France or Jesus himself, why would I (or any person that has a brain) pay $83 for a candle? Also the owner of this shop openly discriminates towards young adults and people who were not born/raised here. Had a very uncomfortable conversation with her and after telling her I moved here for graduate school, she told me that people like me are 'ruining her city' and moving to New Orleans to pursue some sort of vagabond fantasy. Lady, seriously, it's Magazine street. We're not in Bywater. I wasn't some crustpunk from the Quarter coming off the street. It was so rude and left such a negative taste in my mouth. She is the only person in this city that has been blatantly rude and unwelcoming. I would never go back. Good luck selling expensive, overpriced junk.
