Piedmont Brewery & Kitchen is the perfect college-town spot — whether you’re a visitor, local, or Mercer student. It’s got that ideal mix of great atmosphere, great food, and plenty of space (even for large parties). I’m very particular about brisket, but I have to say — this was probably one of the best I’ve had in Georgia. Perfect balance of juiciness, fat ratio, and tenderness. I paired it with their potato salad, which tasted fresh, homemade, and creamy without being too heavy. My group also tried the crunchy turkey sandwich — just the right amount of spice, fresh, and delicious. Every single plate at our table was excellent. Our bill for four people was about $70 with tip — very reasonable for the quality and portion sizes. The vibe is unique: upstairs feels like a lively pub and kitchen, and downstairs you can check out the brewery itself, plus there’s an arcade that adds a fun touch. Between the atmosphere, service, and food, Piedmont Brewery & Kitchen is an absolute win for Macon. Highly recommend!

Great atmosphere. And the food was amazing. I'm very particular about BBQ and the brisket and turkey was perfect. The pork belly appetizer was really good. Our waiter was friendly, attentive and was familiar with the menu and restaurant. His recommendation for dessert was on point.**If they offer the Tiramisu Tres Leches Chocolate Cheesecake, get it!** Fair price point and some great shirts and stickers.

Visited for Macon Fries Week, tried their special waffle fries, awesome! Kids meals were ample and tasty, beef tips and rice tasted great. Large selection of craft beers. Highly recommend!

My wife & I were traveling between Savannah and Atlanta area today and would pass through Macon at mid-day. This seemed like an ideal spot for lunch. Street [paid] parking was easy and close. We were greeted by a quite jovial host and immediately shown to a table. There was a very large beer menu and our waiter helped me pick a hazy IPA. It was great. My wife ordered the Turkey Bowl (sliced turkey breast, mashed potatoes, gravy and collard greens). I ordered beef brisket, waffle fries, collards & mustard based BBQ sauce. All was going so well; and then the food arrived. Let me start by saying that we do not eat fat. We were very upset by the quantity of fat in the portions of both proteins. The turkey was about 20% by volume. The brisket was much worse, perhaps 40%. This was not the brisket where all the fat is on one side and can be trimmed off with a single cut. Rather, the edible portion of the meat was intertwined with ribbons or islands of fat. It was very difficult to eat. Eventually, I gave up trying. The collards and waffle fries were both good. It seems highly unlikely that we would return.

A little out back when I came in and asked for a booth, we are both disabled veterans and sitting in chairs is uncomfortable. We were told they have been too busy to use a 4 top for 2 people. So 2 of us sat on one side of the booth at a two person table. While not ideal, we made it work. This was my first time eating here. I have my favorite restaurants in Macon, but figured I would try somewhere new for me. Food was ok, burger on my patty melt was very small. He enjoyed his cheesesteak. Was louder than what I would like for a week night dinner.

Nice place to relax. Sat at the bar. Plenty of tables. Not crowded. Kate was our bartender and server. Thanx Kate. 👍🏼 Good beers. Interestingly they offer an 8 ounce size pour. Works well if you’re wanting to have a couple different types of beer but more than a flight taste size. Mixed drink was well done. Tito’s with cranberry and a splash of lime. 👍🏼 Brisket with collards and rice for the missus. Pulled pork sandwich with waffle fries for me. Good portions and taste. Priced reasonably. I hear there is an arcade downstairs but didn’t have time to check it out. Next time. I do have a question about something I saw at the brewery. There was a piece of art on the wall behind the bar. Guitarist on a porch. See the attached photo. I searched and can’t find a source for it. Can someone provide any info on it?

So an impromptu "Let's Eat" Review because we had to change our plans because the place we wanted to go and review closed at 230pm today so I'm improvising. We decided to grab a beer at Piedmont Brewery because so many of you said I had to try the cheese curds! Unfortunately, none of you told me which sauce to get! 😂🤣 So I ordered ALL 4 of them! We had never been here before so in our usual fashion, we always order "Beer Flights" (get it? I'm a Flight Attendant so Beer Flights is just my natural "go to") Sidenote on the beer, my fav is a toss up between the "Promised Land" which is a Lager and the "Life Of Sin" which is a Porter. Let's talk "Cheese Curds"... ok... so, being that I travel for work and know that cheese curds are supposed to "squeak" when you eat them, I'd call these "mini mozzarella sticks" and they were very good and I loved them! (Would definitely recommend so please don't throw anything at me lol) I tried all 4 sauces but, hands down, the Brown Gravy blew me away. I'm from Ireland and we are incredibly snobbish when it comes to our gravy. I asked Kate, our amazing Bartender, if the gravy is from a Mix. She quickly corrected me and informed me that the gravy is homemade! It. Is. Incredible. I cannot recommend this enough. I was sitting next to a Gentleman by the name of "Van". I later found out he was a cook here at Piedmont, among other places and that he was in numerous cooking competitions. We talked about Collard Greens. When Kate (our Bartender) overheard us, she went and got me a sample because Van had actually cooked them. (Love her for that!) Folks. Stop what you're doing. Get in your car and go to Piedmont and get yourself a huge plate of these greens. They were the most amazing greens, ever. Van went on to tell me the process this place goes thru to make the perfect greens. Whoda thunk that a brewery would get greens so right??? Breaking It down: Beer Flight with 4 beers = $10.50 Cheese Curds = $11.00 (Extra sauces are only .50 each) Bottom Line: Tell your friends to meet you at Piedmont for some beers and good talks! Next time we come, I'm ordering the Brisket, mashed potatoes and greens because Van told me that they're the best.

First time stopping in here for dinner. Everything was great. Brisket was cooked perfectly, the slaw was tasty and fresh. My daughter loved the Bahnni sandwich. A friend had the burger and enjoyed that as well. Pork rinds were great and plentiful! Stout was outstanding. (12/1) Wonderful Macon holiday light show outside.

Yelp
I was in town for a few days and I liked this place so much, I went twice. Wings were delicious. Brisket was great. Chili with beans was some of the best I've ever had. Every beer I tried was good. Standout for me was the Mexican lager with the lime & jalepeno twist. Service was decently friendly and I even bought a tshirt. Bonus points for playing Sabbath. Definitely recommend this place.

Yelp
The food here was delicious, not your standard pub fare! Such good appetizers! I especially liked the pretzel bites and grit fritters. The honeybee cider also tasted great. The environment was a little loud but high energy and would be good for a night out on the town with friends. Service was good and they were able to get us seated quickly despite being very busy.

Yelp
I was recommended this place a few times, and after my visit, I see why. I sat at the bar, and the bartender was super nice and accommodating. I ordered the trash fries sub pork for chicken, and they were simply divine. I love summer because that means "sours." I tried their new flavor Two Turntables and it was soo good and fruity. Can't wait to come back and try the white bbq wings I hear so much about.

Yelp
I had lunch at Piedmont Brewery and Kitchen last month. Born and raised in Macon and even attending Mercer, I rarely venture out. Thankfully my lunch buddy for the day suggested we come here and it did not disappoint. Katie was very attentive and answered all our questions. We both ordered wings and drinks. The wings were roasted - which are dry rubbed before being smoked and dipped into your sauce of choice. When you order 10 or more wings, you are able to split the flavors. Don't get fancy tho - because they don't allow all flats :( I also got a beer flight with 1 addition so I could try all the IPAs on tap. This was a highlight. I love with breweries offer flights because I'm able to pinpoint my favorites before committing to a tall glass. They have a full bar as well which is nice and looks like an area that may be utilized downstairs for entertainment. I would definitely go back to try other menu items.

Yelp
So happy to have a dinner here with work friends for our book club. Loved that the service and staff is always great and friendly. I tried the smoked platter with the brisket and pulled pork oh it was so yummy. And I finished the side of mac and cheese and the waffle fries were also good. I ordered a large plate to have leftovers. I ordered wings to go for my fiancé - which he loved and I couldn't resist ordering the chocolate cheesecake. Omg that was delicious I can't wait to try more of their menu items And of course the beer paired great with my bbq brisket!

Yelp
Stopped off in Macon for dinner on our way to Atlanta. This place left me feeling a little meh. I'll start with the good stuff. The atmosphere was great. Friendly staff, good and quick service. Clean place. Appetizers were amazing! Unfortunately, what left me wanting more was the food (main dishes). I had the French dip. Instead of roast beef, they used bbq beef. Although tasty(ish), this made my sandwich basically a pulled beef sandwich to be dipped in beef broth. That did not taste good, so I slathered it with their bbq sauce. Then it tasted good, but not like a French dip. I also tasted my daughter's pulled pork, which had a very mild taste until you poured bbq sauce into it. Sides: waffle fries looked fine, and mac n cheese was very good. Don't waste your money on the cornbread. It was dry and tastefree. I also found the beer menu to be a little lacking.

Yelp
Very good. Wings, grit fritters and pretzel bite were some favorites. Great historic downtown location. Street parking. Prices were average, about $15 to $20 per entree. Good service too.

Yelp
Another Macon gem. Macon has so many! I like the wings here! The brisket is also good! Waffle fries too! The bahn mi is also a good choice! Good cocktails too! Honestly you can't get anything bad here. It can get a bit loud inside, but that's mostly due to the size of the place. They do have outside seating too!
google avatar

Mio H.

Yelp
Had the portobello bahnmi which was very tart and delicious! Full of flavors and very filling. It was a busy Friday night but the service was good.
google avatar

Yelp
Service was good along with the fish and chips but my fish was a little burnt. They give you a good portion of food.

Yelp
Cool vibe is growing in downtown Macon. Has a ways to go but Piedmont Brewery & Kitchen is helping that goal come to fruition. The service was very good & friendly. We started out with the Pork Rinds which were drizzled in honey and gave that sweet and savory flavor I had the French dip sandwich and would say it was slightly above average. My wife had the beer cheese soup which was velvety and flavorful. The brews were fresh and clean with no bitter aftertaste. Seems like a good place to have a nice meal & relaxing atmosphere.

Yelp
Reeeaaally neat place. An unexpected atmosphere from outside to inside. Great staff, hands down; great open dining space and bar space that doesn't encroach on diners who may not care for that side of the kitchen and with plenty of seating. Check out downstairs, no spoiler alerts here. (Ok, jk, small arcade space and brewing area...) Creative and impressive beer menu. Tasters, 7 oz, and pints offered. I must say, I was disappointed in the beer cheese soup. Maybe tonight was just a little off, but I couldn't eat it because it was soooo salty. I thought to ask for a small side of daikon with my side kale Caesar (I wish I'd just gone with the Bahn Mi) because I was craving something pickled. They were happy to accommodate which is cool. Thank goodness, because I know a Caesar salad is pretty basic, but this one was really just kale and some sprinkled parm with an overly parmed out Caesar dressing. Fish and chips for my husband and kids showcased some great waffle fries. Battered fish was plentiful but ironically lacking salt and flavor. I think I'm a bit picky, but for the staff and environment, I'll pop in again, but just stick to pretzel bites or something. Final [side] note - We did want salmon going in to our visit, which they don't offer. But I do appreciate ahí tuna that they do. Maybe I'll try that on another salad. I think quality is there, but maybe it's just the menu for me.

Yelp
I have been excited about trying this place as my friend recommended it. Atmosphere: The atmosphere was quite pleasant with different pinball and arcade machines scattered through the restaurant. They have an outdoor area and another area where you could see the brewing equipment Food: The food was a bit below my expectations. I wanted to start off the grit fritters and the fish and chips for my meal, but they were out of both. It's understandable that they were out of some things as they just opened to a huge crowd. We started with the pretzeI bites, those had a good taste especially when paired with the mustard and beer cheese. I ended up going with a french dip for my meal, and it was about average I would say. They didn't give me a lot of azure sauce so I ended up running out before I finished my sandwich. My mother went with the pulled pork sandwich, she said it was about average as well. She also order the blonde lager and said the enjoyed it. Finally my father went with the brisket patty melt and that had a good crunch and a great taste. The waffle fries and pasta salad sides were quite pleasant. Service: Our waitress seemed nice and attentive at first. A little after we ordered we saw her once more and that was when it was time to pay. We never had our drinks filled and were never able to get more napkins. The place was no tbusy so there was no excuse. The waitress was sitting near to us talking to people at another table almost the whole time.

Yelp
The server was less than friendly but still 5 stars because the food and beer were delicious. I had wings and wifey had beef tips and rice and said the collards and cornbread were also excellent.
google avatar

Aubrey L.

Yelp
The food was absolutely out of this world, would absolutely recommend to anyone going to the downtown Macon area. I was skeptical about the fried grits, but they're wonderful. It was busy when I went as it was Saturday night, but the service was quick and everyone was very welcoming. Ambiance was nice, it was a little loud, but what you would expect for a brewery. Overall you should definitely check it out :)
google avatar

Yelp
I've only experienced the food hall aspect. Learned later there was more to explore. The tables and seating were low and uncomfortable, the area seemed lacking. The murals were beautiful. The gorgeous plants in the entrance were impressive. But the dining room felt cold.Food wise.... Mmmm decent but the price point was high for the portion size. Service was great!
google avatar

Hailey P.

Yelp
Service was awesome, our server was super nice and we chatted about a couple beers. My husband tried the Raspberry Beret and it was very sour. We ended up getting the Fruited Smoothie Sour and it was perfect. Our food came out fast and was absolutely delicious! These were appetizers but more than enough food for the two of us.
google avatar

Grace S.

Yelp
SO GOOD!!! Food was amazing and service was excellent. I ordered a buffalo chicken sandwich and the chicken itself was bigger than my head. It was so so so good... will definitely come back if I'm in the area again!
google avatar

Larry S.

Yelp
My guest and I stopped by Piedmont Brewery and Kitchen during a brief stop in Macon. The server was very attentive which unfortunately was the highlight of our visit. The food and beer were just average. Pulled pork sandwich was just average with nothing outstanding. Wings of two different flavors tasted the same and, again, average. The ambiance was bare bottom. If you serve outstanding BBQ then you can get away with a rustic setting, but not with average food. Beware, a 4oz beer tasting is $3, while a pint is $7. If you're lucky looking for an average experience then go to Piedmont.

Yelp
Excellent beers and great service! Stopped in for a late lunch and to finish some work! Bartender was great beer list is fantastic not one bad beer in my flight! I had the look out2.0, another love song, heart shaped box, and learn to swim! All good!!!!

Yelp
We stopped by for lunch on the way to Chattanooga and stumbled onto the cherry Blossom festival. The brewery was busy but we were able to quickly get seated and got our food in a timely manner. Food was good and the beers were yummy.

Yelp
Stopped in really quickly on a visit to Macon. I didn't try the food, but the beer was great! They've got tons of IPAs and sours, which I'm not really in to. I had the Satisfied Local Lager and was, well...satisfied. It was good. The ambiance was great. I'd love to spend more time here. The service was great!
google avatar

Paula W.

Yelp
Our very first visit here, we usually do Fall Line Brewery, that is top notch!!! However, they were closed for lunch and referred to try Piedmont. The servers were less than friendly!! My husband ordered the fish, coleslaw &waffle fries and he usually doesn't not complain about anything. This time he complained that the fish had no seasoning and that it was very, very greasy and the coleslaw was not good!!! He didn't finish his meal. I had the patty melt with waffle fries. Needless to say , they could have giving my food to another person!!! I didn't eat what they call a patty melt. First & last time visiting...... The thing came out of this visit was the beer

Yelp
Came here at 1630 on a Thursday, plenty of room at the bar. I'm a Lager type so ordered 16 oz Mysterious Ways. It was pretty decent, had a crisp taste and if I didn't know any better, I would've thought it was a Budweiser and Budweiser is my go to. As for food, the bartender recommended I get the wings and looking around I noticed someone have about 30 of them and he was killing them all. I bought 5 hot wings and I also got the brisket patty melt. So the wings were good, they were smoked, fried and had a pour over of hot wing sauce. I thought they were good and glad I ordered them. The markdown would be the patty melt. The brisket was tender and had some fat in it which was great but it wasn't in proportion to the bread. Also, the entire sandwich was bland and I thought it was one of the smallest patty melts that I had. Even the cheese and onions were bland....weird. Overall, good place to chill, good beer, good service and good wings. Patty melt, I had

Yelp
Great food, great beer, the atmosphere was soooo cozy and I will go back. The dog outside was a bit intimidating but you can't control everything...

Yelp
Service was great. Beer was good. Food was just ok. Highlight was the Poutine Fries and the Satisfied Lager. Beer cheese soup was a miss.

Yelp
On of the few place in Downtown Griffin to go for good food. Service was good, prices reasonable.

Yelp
We stopped by recently when we visited Macon. We were looking for a spot that offered some late night food, and this was a great option. We walked in and took a seat at the bar. The bartender greeted us quickly. We ordered a few bourbon cocktails and decided to look over the menu. We decided to have 20 wings with a variety of sauces. The wings came out in good time and they looked great. They had crispy skin, were perfectly seasoned, and had great flavor. The sauces all complimented the wings nicely. They were really tasty and we were happy we ordered them. Overall, we enjoyed our late night trip to Piedmont Brewery. The food and drinks were on point. We will definitely return if in the area.

Yelp
VEGETARIAN POV- It's a nice brewery...cool vibes and there's a game room tucked away downstairs. There are a few standard vegetarian options...salads, veggie burger, and side dishes... nothing special. I had a side salad and also tried the Mac and cheese and potato salad. The Mac and cheese was good. The potato salad was okay, it tasted a bit tangy- sorta vinegary. I wasn't a fan. Of course it's a brewery so they have a ton of beers, they didn't have any ciders which is my usual go to at similar establishments. I had a mango seltzer it was also okay, Piedmont wouldn't be my first choice but it's doable for a dinner with friends.

Alan R.

Yelp
Very typical microbrewery setting with outstanding food. Brisket has a nice char but remains juicy and flavorful. We've gone 3 times in the last month and has never disappointed. Even during the busy time service was great. Disappointed they didn't have flights of their beer.
google avatar

Ciara C.

Yelp
I didn't eat so i can't speak to the food but the drinks were tasty. I had a Tequila on 3rd and whiskey sidecar. Service was fast and friendly. Ambiance is your typical brewery/pub set up. Plenty of seating and apparently there's an arcade downstairs.
google avatar

Kabrina B.

Yelp
I hesitated with the 5-star rating because your carry out food will probably be cold by the time you find a park, if you can find a park. I gave them 5-stars as they can't control the parking. I would recommend working with the city to get 1-2 spots for pick up so people aren't spending 5-10 minutes circling for a park. I think I needed the frustration of parking shared before the review The food was excellent. The wings were delicious and the sauce was finger licking good. Yes, I licked my fingers because of the sauce. The Mac and Cheese was a curly noodle with a cheese sauce. It depends on your preferred style of Mac and Cheese. I prefer the baked with chunks of cheese not sauce but this was good. Yes, I was greedy. I had the beef brisket!!! Amazing. Well seasoned and really tasty.
google avatar

Yelp
Some dummy that y'all know and love left his wallet sitting on the table. I realized it a couple of hours later, and called them immediately. They said they had it and would meet me at the door with it. It's refreshing to know that there are still good honest people in the world (and in Macon). By the way, the meal and the service were both excellent, as always!! If you haven't tried their Brisket Platter, shame on YOU!! Thank you, kind people of Piedmont!!
google avatar

Sierra T.

Yelp
Nice waiters, foul bathrooms, decent food. Good luck with parking. Limited dessert, limited specials. Overall very okay bbq not the best. The grit fritters had a nice consistency but everything was dry and needed more sauce. Would order the pulled pork sandwich again. Rice and gravy was my favorite thing it's a surprisingly good side
google avatar

James S.

Yelp
I wanted to try more of the menu, but settled on a small order of wings for a snack before later dinner plans. They came out quick --as they're basically pre-cooked in the smoker-- and were rather tasty. The sauce was good, as was the ample blue cheese dip. Bartender was nice, and the indie beer I got was good. The problem: Much of the interior of the restaurant had a greasy, slippery surface. I'm not talking a little spot--I mean the whole area between the front door and around the bar was dangerously, grossly slippery. It's like they varnished with pork fat. It's a tort attorney's dream come true.
google avatar

Yelp
Amazing burgers. Fun family atmosphere! Family style seating (so you may end up sharing a table). The sweet potato fries and syrup are the bomb (though I didn't take a pic.)
google avatar

MaryRose D.

Yelp
My friend and I had dinner here last Saturday during the annual Christmas lights in Macon. It was packed around 7 PM and the wait was about 45 minutes, but they text you when your table's ready so you can walk around downtown while you wait. We were served right away and I ordered the pulled pork sandwich. The pulled pork was nice and tender and I loved the Carolina BBQ sauce that came with the sandwich!
google avatar

Martin M.

Yelp
this place has the makings for something good, but just doesn't quite make it. both my cheese curds and fish were fried to the max. hard and oily. the inside of the fish was still pretty good but I basically had to peel the burnt crisp off of it. I'm glad I did because I think all that oil made me sick. I was nauseous for the rest of the day. couldn't imagine how bad I would have felt if I ate all of it
google avatar

William R.

Yelp
On the way back to Atlanta we stopped here for dinner. The service was quick and friendly. The beers were all very well made and worth trying. The food was fantastic. Make this a stop if you are in the area. They seem to have a full bar too so not just beer which means you can bring all your friends!!
google avatar

Yelp
The very best food and drink in Macon! Please try the smoked wings, they are amazing!!

Yelp

Yelp
I was passing through Macon with a group of college students and we were encouraged to come to Piedmont Brewery for dinner. It is a great spot for groups. Plenty of room inside with tables and even features a game room downstairs where the brewery is located. The menu is responsibly priced and features a BBQ/comfort food theme. I went with the pulled pork sandwich and side of Mac and cheese. The pork is very tender and tasty. It has a great flavor throughout the meat and the roll is a perfect combination of toasted and soft. I first went with the Carolina sauce, but was a bit too vinegar for me. I switched it out for the sweet and Smokey and was much more my jam. The Mac and cheese was also good. The beer cheese sauce is creamy and smooth and equally as tasty. Overall a solid choice for some good eats and a good atmosphere to hang out.

Yelp
Amazing food.... first time I ordered the fish n chips taste wise it's really good (a little greasy but it's bar food so that was expected). My husband ordered the fried brisket he said it melted in his mouth. Now the next time I ordered the bahn mi made with the portobello mushrooms now that was awesome. Our friends ordered the white bbq wings and said they were some of the best they had ever had. The waitstaff did a bang up job very friendly and knowledgeable. The ambiance was very inviting well lit and comfortable. I definitely enjoyed myself 10 out of 10 I would recommend.

Yelp
We stopped in here during a road trip for a beer and some food and I'm glad we did! It's located in historic Macon which looks like they are revamping. There's metered parking but we were there on a Sunday so it was free. Walking in at first site the place is huge and open. There are tables and booths towards the front and then a large bar. We sat at the bar and had good service from the friendly bartender. We ordered the gose and the wit. Both were extremely great tasting! And the food was amazing. We shared the PBK Plate with brisket, pork, pasta salad and a salad. The pork was my favorite. And be sure to ask for the white bbq sauce. I don't know what's in it but it was so good! The beers are only $5 and our shared platter was only $18. So for $14 per person for a filling lunch and beer is a great price! After we ate, we went downstairs to check out their arcade. I wished we had more time to spend here. They had pinball machines, air hockey, darts and other arcade games that you pay as you play. Very cool atmosphere.

Yelp
Loved this spot in Macon! It has such a trendy, fun vibe. I got the pulled chicken sandwich with a side of mac and cheese. OMG the Mac and cheese. I could have eaten 2lbs of it. Noodles weren't mushy and cheese was oh so good. The pulled chicken was delicious and the bbq sauce was great! They put it on top for you and there isn't too much which was perfect for me but you can ask for additional if needed. I ordered their seasonal "You'll shoot your eye out" beer and it came with the cutest little candy cane accent. The beer name only makes sense if you've ever seen A Christmas Story. Ha! I can't say enough good things about it here.

Yelp
Solid beer list. I enjoyed my flight of four- Bent Horizon was the best IMO. Good Mac and cheese and waffle fries. The brisket was a little fatty, but it was pretty good too. I got the sweet and spicy bbq sauce- good flavor. I'd like to try the pork next time- our server recommended the brisket.
