It’s a great park for a long walk or a jog. I ride my longboard here and they can improve on the pavement. It a bit too rough for longboards. They have electric scooters here and it’s also a bit bumpy here and there.

The beltline is a great trail. It can get a bit crowded in the park though.

Yelp
Piedmont Park is an 121 yr. old, 200+ acre public park in Atlanta. The Piedmont Ave & 14th Street Entrance was within walking distance from our hotel. Upon arrival the first time visiting, in clear view was gorgeous greenery. Actually, along w/ great weather, lots of greenery and beautiful views are everywhere in Piedmont Park. Visiting the park multiple times throughout our trip occurred to truly enjoy all that Piedmont Park has to offer. Here are the highlights: - American Artist David Hammons "Free Nelson Mandela" Sculpture ' Created in 1987. - Dockside & Lake Clara Meer & Promenade - Gazebo - People were outside fishing & we just enjoyed seeing turtles, ducks, etc. in the lake. - Active Oval - People can go around the oval & walk, jog, etc. as well as enjoy exercising on pull-up bars, etc. - Skyline Atlanta Point - pictures taken here give you a fabulous view - reminds me a bit of an NYC Skyline. - Sean's Heart of the Park & the Swimming Pool. Pool has General Admission (small fee) & specific days w/ hours that have free admission. Seans's Heart of the Park has snacks / beverages for sale. We ordered delicious Strawberry Lemonade Slushies & hotdogs. There are various restroom & playground areas, cute birds & ducks & several jumbo bench swings w/ in areas of the park. Boy, did we enjoy using one of the swings & feeling the genntle breeze on our skin...so peaceful! Open Everyday - 6am - 11pm. piedmontpark.org @piedmontpark Check their website for information on things including programs, tours, their calendar, etc.

Yelp
Atlanta's nicest park by far. Solid tennis courts great for morning or evening play I discovered this court and my tennis hitting partners on joinplaytennis.com/atlanta

Yelp
Came here to have a picnic on my 12 year anniversary and we picked out a prime spot too: in the grass, shade, cool breeze. But of course it wasn't enough because people had to literally sit RIGHT NEXT TO US. They not only sat next to us, they kept kicking their goddamn dodgeball at us literally three times until we just had enough. It really sucks when you're passively bullied by your own people. Saying sorry doesn't mean anything if you keep DOING IT. Anyway, go at your own caution. They do have lit festivals like the Pride festival in October we go to and the arts festival usually in August. Just be prepared to be potentially harassed or bullied for existing.

Yelp
One of the best parks in Atlanta which is 200 acres and a great place to spend time. Whether you are looking for biking, walking, running, playing games, or attending festivals, this is your one-stop destination. You can also attend many festivals here all year round. This place does have bike rentals and scooter rentals as well. It also has a small pond with ducks where you can see a young couple doing photoshoots or the next tik tok star in the making :) Apart from this, it also has soccer fields and swings for kids. Overall, a great huge park for any of your needs if you are looking to be close to nature.

Yelp
A great park in Atlanta. This place gives me Central Park vibes but on a scale that is manageable and enjoyable. I think I mostly relate it to that because it's the only other "park in a city" that I know and have been to, haha. Parks in a city is probably one of my favorite things because it brings nature to the urban area. At Piedmont Park, there are a lot of fields, walking/running trails, and many other things you can explore here. My last trip to Atlanta, I came here with my best friend for a nice relaxing time before heading to the airport to catch a flight home. We sat and read beneath the trees and it was probably one of my highlights of the trip. Everyone seemed to have the same idea, as we weren't the only ones doing this here. Such a great park to read, nap, or have a picnic at. Love it here!

Yelp
My nephew and I had so much fun! Things have changed greatly since I last visited this park many years ago. They have a lovely parking garage. The botanical gardens are located here. I don't remember pool being there before, there is one now. The playground had a lot to offer, with instruments, slides, swings, and a mini fire truck.

Yelp
Went here this weekend for an event. Park was clean and there was a market on one side, dog rescue event on the other. It was a perfect day so there were a lot of people there just hanging out, walking, jogging, relaxing, celebrating birthdays, taking wedding photos, shopping at the market, walking dogs, etc. I noticed there are a lot of bikes and scooters you could rent. Park is situated in a residential area and the are little eateries that are easily accessible. Most of these eateries look like they are locally owned or ma-n-pop places so I love that about thus area. Has a lake in the middle, no swimming and didn't spot any alligators so that's a plus!

Yelp
Yes, you DEFINITELY get a great "Central Park" vibe as you explore this wonderful downtown Atlanta gem, and it's no wonder, as it was apparently designed by the same person (Olmstead?) who "created" NY's Central Park. Although we went on a somewhat cold(er), dreary late December afternoon, it's easy to imagine how full of LIFE this park must be as the weather gets warmer. Beautiful city views, great expanses of lawn/greenery, a pool, a lake, picnic areas, playgrounds... And that was just what we saw after a quick wander-through; I just KNOW there's so much more to see and do here. We were lucky to find nearby parking... I'm sure it gets more challenging during "prime time." If I lived in the area, I'd be back with my bicycle, a nice picnic lunch, and plans to do absolutely NADA for the whole day!! Enjoy this GREAT city resource, Atlanta!!!

Yelp
Piedmont Park is such a great place in Atlanta! Always enjoy my time here. Clean fun outdoor area in town. A group of us (8) meet near the Park Tavern to do a night walk around the park during December. It was cold, but we soon warmed up during our hike. We choose the night because of the Holiday Lights. We wondered around for about 6 miles, passing by the Botanical Gardens which had beautiful holiday lights. Also we got on Peachtree Street with the many light displays along the road. All in all great way to burn some calories with friends, while enjoying the holidays. See my numerous pics. We have been here during daylight hours too. Many more people then. Also sports fields, lakes, and relaxing areas on the grass. Music is normal part of the park with symphony concerts during the summer. Also movies on the green during summer. Nice views of the downtown skyscrapers from Piedmont Park. The popular beltline trail is near Piedmont Park. Parking can be a hassle. Easiest is to use one of the paid lots. Free parking can be found on some of the side streets, but read the signs carefully before parking.

Yelp
Great views, great space, good vibes- an amazing park for concerts, running and catching up with friends.

Yelp
Don't follow the direction of whoever posted it on Yelp. Takes you to the botanical guard gate entrance. Turn from Piedmont and Monroe and onto the Monroe entrance to the deck. Park on deck floors 1, 2 or 3 or risk being booted. This state loves putting boots on vehicles, how inane is that? The running statue is located at the Piedmont Commons area. First half hour is free. $3 for the first hour and $2 for every half hour.

Yelp
I visited Piedmont Park in mid-November 2023 during a hotel stay in midtown. If the weather is nice in autumn, I would strongly recommend a visit here (even for 1 hour) to enjoy the pathways and foliage. The park is accessible from 14th St. (walking south east from the High Museum of Art). Or you can walk to the 12th St. entrance. First, it has several paved walkways that are ideal for a stroll or jog. Second, you can find two playgrounds (if you're traveling with kids). Third, it covers a vast area - one could easily spend a few hours just walking around the park. I only had 30 minutes to visit, so did not go very far beyond the memorial to Booker T. Washington, the lake overlook house, and the pathway to 12th St. This vast park used to be the property of Dr. Benjamin Walker who sold it in 1887 to the Gentlemen's Driving Club (for horse enthusiasts). It hosted a couple of important expositions in the late 1800s to commemorate the growth and rising prosperity of post-Civil War Atlanta. If you're trying to Google Maps your way here, search for the Booker T. Washington marker.

Yelp
This is always a dope joint to walk through. It's a super large park that is in a really good spot in Atlanta. It is near the beltline, several food establishments/cafes/bars, hosts many events (such as the jazz fest), has trails for walking and biking, plenty of picnic space, and it's just a one stop shop for all of the chill vibes (especially on a good and clear day). Parking is basically get it how you can, so just be aware of that (street parking most likely but there is a garage as well if you can get a spot). Its near the botanical gardens, which can be another plus to visit.

Yelp
We were here for the first day of the Atlanta Dogwood Festival which was huge and pretty much took over most of the park. All of the walkways were set up with vendor booths and tents featuring artists and there were others with food and for some reason, expensive cheap wine and cheap beer. The park is pretty amazing with walkways, fields, scenic paths, pavilions, restrooms and so much greenery. Parking along the perimeter streets is marked but not free during the festival. We found street parking a block or two away. Interesting tidbit - the park was the home field of Atlanta's first professional baseball team, the Atlanta Crackers. And now you know that as well. [Review 19543 overall - 599 in Georgia - 513 of 2023 - round number 200 for Atlanta.]

Yelp
I loved exploring Piedmont Park during my recent visit to Atlanta! We were able to walk here from our hotel in Uptown so I'm not exactly sure of the parking situation but this park was HUGE! They had all kinds of activities going on from baseball, running, beach volleyball courts, a public pool, soccer, and so much more! We also happened to be walking around when a market was going on so it was neat to explore some local vendors selling homemade food, candles, clothing, etc. The park overall was pretty amazing with a lake through the middle, city views, paths, pavilions and well kept grass areas. It would be the perfect place for a picnic or to go for a run if I lived in the area. I loved how full of life this park was, truly an amazing spot in Atlanta!

Yelp
My favorite park in Atlanta. Piedmont Park is such a great place! Always enjoy my time here. Clean fun outdoor area in town. This almost feels like Central Park in New York City. It's super close to skyscrapers, but it's very quiet and has lots of outdoor activities.
google avatar

Gabe H.

Yelp
I love this place. I go here every week. I go to play ultimate frisbee. There's a great community of people that go here, and it's just a lot of fun. The grounds are always clean and safe.
google avatar

Drew B.

Yelp
Totally worth your time visiting in Atlanta. This almost feels like Central Park in New York City. It's super close to skyscrapers, but it's very quiet and has lots of outdoor activities. We visited for the ice cream festival and had some phenomenal ice cream.
google avatar

Yelp
Great place for a picnic, walk, and photos. I love Piedmont Park because of how expansive and spacious it is. Our holiday tradition the last few years has been to come out to the park for photos. With the backdrop, you'd be hard pressed to find another spot in Atlanta that's family friendly and picture worthy. You can hear the sound of ducks and birds. Recommend visiting the park on your stop to Atlanta and making the most of Atlanta's open spaces.
google avatar

LeBain L.

Yelp
Atlanta's premiere park with plenty of paved walking/jogging trails, grassy areas for casual play or picnics, an "active oval" for organized & league sports (2 soccer fields, 2 softball diamonds, 2 sand volleyball courts, decomposed granite running track), a public pool, tennis courts, basketball courts, bocce ball courts, separate large-dog & small-dog dog parks, and a few bathrooms (one near 12th St. entrance, one near pool, one near dog park). There's a pond I call "green lake" & a cute bridge/pergola for feeding ducks. Saturday mornings in spring, summer and fall feature a little farmers' market at the 12th St. entrance. There's street parking nearby if you're lucky, and a paid parking deck accessible from Monroe Dr. (The Piedmont access to the parking deck is reserved for botanical garden visitors.) Don't go after dark.

Yelp
Piedmont Park is like a mini Central Park. Each part of the park showcases something different and has multiple trails. It's walking distance a few blocks from where my friend lives. If you walk up Piedmont Ave to 10th St and take a right at the rainbow crosswalk, it'll lead you straight there. There's open fields with trees that you can lay out to have a nice picnic, read a book, or play fetch with your dog. There's paved trails around it and a unique playground. Another part has a special track area, and people played soccer in the open middle space that Saturday morning. There's a nice lake at the bottom. During Christmas, they have a light show at the Atlanta Botanical Garden, which you can also access from a part of the park. Then, if you keep walking down the street, it'll lead you to the East Beltline trail that's closed off to vehicles and has really cool art/art walls and restaurants that lead you to Trader Joe's or Ponce City Market. I love how accessible Midtown Atlanta can be. It's got an East coast charm.
google avatar

Ellen W.

Yelp
It's a lovely park right next to Midtown High School. Lots of people walking dogs. Though it was crowded, everyone seemed to enjoy being outdoors.
google avatar

Cathy N.

Yelp
It may get busy, but Piedmont park it's just nice. You can ride the electric scooters and bikes around. It's nice to walk and look at everything. It's one of the most common places in Atlanta. I say just check it out and try it once. Having a picnic here is also pretty nice.

Yelp
Crown Jewel of Southeastern park-space. there, I said it. Although I'd like to see more police presence patrolling the park (ok, a LOT more) that's a separate issue from Piedmont itself: the most incredible, durable, risible, funky resource our city has. look at it this way: Piedmont Park's longevity has spurred new green-space initiatives around Midtown--even Buckhead for cripes' sakes. We moved our tennis team from Decatur to the park and it's renewed my love and appreciation for Piedmont--not just as a pretty thing to look at, but to enjoy and love. And as a native New Yorker transplanted here, Frederick Law Olmsted as co-designer (famed architect of Central Park) makes my heart happy. I wish folks would take better care with recycling plastics and trash in general, particularly after events when it's bad. safety, as I mentioned above, is still a very live issue. but I'm not sure I'd gravitate to Garden District without Piedmont.
google avatar

Lisa W.

Yelp
I really enjoyed my time at Piedmont Park! Even though the leaves were all fallen off and it was gloomy, the park still had this picturesque feel to it. We walked to Piedmont from Ponce Market using the beltline. There were so many people around and enjoying the outdoors. They have a pond, the botanical gardens, fields, tracks, a dog park and many other activities. We rented scooters and rode around the park. Good place for that as there are no cars! I bet in the summer it's even more beautiful. There's also a view of midtown.
google avatar

John B.

Yelp
The central green space of Atlanta offers a variety of recreational opportunities and facilities. Aesthetically, it isn't that impressive or distinctive; I'm not sure I'd know I was in Atlanta if I hadn't put the city in my GPS. The botanical garden embedded in the park is more interesting, but if you just need an outdoor space to roam, this is it.
google avatar

David W.

Yelp
Nice park. They have a really nice parking garage. I gave it 4 stars because I felt like I could be assaulted at any moment, but I never did, so 4 stars for the uneasy situation. Anyway. Beautiful park. Nice walking trails.
google avatar

Yelp
Ahhhh Piedmont Park...an Atlanta staple. What is there to say to those that have never been? Get here ASAP! I've been here a thousand times, from the many Dogwood Festivals, handful of Pride Festivals, Music Midtown and just tons of days having a picnic in the park. It's huge, it's beautiful and you can do some great people watching. I've never felt unsafe in the park. The park is packed where there are events, and overall busy on regular days. Parking around the park can be difficult. I always take MARTA to the Midtown station and walk the few blocks to the park. It's really your best option and it'll take you maybe 7-10 minutes by foot. I will continue to go to Piedmont for events or just chillin out with a great book. If you love hanging out outdoors, this park is for you!

Yelp
Sweet little spot with food nearby. They are having a cute festival today. Lots of doggie people.

Yelp
Lovely day for the park We visited Piedmont park from the beltline off ponce city market. The beltline was alive with vendors and activists for Iran's women's protest. It was a nice walk to the park where we passed by several art installations, and admired the murals painted on the back doors of businesses. The park itself was quite slow on this overcast day. The lawn is massive but the grass today was pale from the winter. There are bikes and e-scooters you can rent - which we did- to further explor the park. The sidewalk trail is clear and goes in a circle. We passed by a lake with bench swings, a bridge, and stone staircases along the way. It's a large park with tons of space and setups for volleyball and tennis. Great place to spend outdoors, and very near businesses for drinks and food after.
google avatar

Natalie K.

Yelp
Always an event or something fun going on. Nice swimming pool. Had a great time riding scooters through the park.

Yelp
Nice place to relax in the city of Atlanta. Very spaced out and the children's playground seemed to be in order. An easy win when coming as a visitor on the days most museums are closed.
google avatar

Roderick B.

Yelp
It has been a long while since I got to have a morning walk in the park and even with the fog and drizzle it is still the perfect escape to clear my head. Other than the Atlanta Botanical Gardens it is the best thing about Midtown Atlanta.
google avatar

Gaylon V.

Yelp
It's a beautiful park in the city. We went out on a sunny Saturday afternoon. Given the nice. comfortable crowd, you would think there was an event happening. But it was just a summer weekend. There are biking / walking paths. There are two separate dog parks - one for the big pups and another for the cuddly littles. There were food vendors with snow cone / hot dog offerings. There's also an amphitheater on premise. The take: I would definitely recommend a stroll through there after enjoying a nice meal so as to walk it down and sight see the locals relaxing.
google avatar

Shani H.

Yelp
Great park here in Atlanta and one of the largest that I've ever been to. There are always tons of festivals and events going on here which make it a great place for tourists to visit. The only issue is its easy to get lost so there should be more signage.
google avatar

Kayla C.

Yelp
Piedmont park is one of my favorite spots in Atlanta. I chose my apartment specifically to be walkable. The park is fun, generally clean, full of things to do and has two dog parks, areas for sports, and you can bike/scooter/walk etc. it was designed by the same person who did Central Park in New York and you can tell
google avatar

Demond D.

Yelp
Piedmont park is a great venue for the music festival. Just work on the food lines next time
google avatar

Eustina K.

Yelp
I came here for the first time today to attend the annual Dogwood Festival and enjoyed my time here! It was hard to find parking so we parked in a plaza and took a trail to walk to the middle of the park, which took about twenty minutes. The park is HUUUGE with many different exits, walkways, and places to discover so I will definitely be coming back here again. The walkways are covered in smooth concrete so it's very ideal for running, walking and biking. There are also huge fields of grass in the middle of the park and it was nice to lay around and look at the sky as I relaxed! I also loved how I could see the skyline mixed in with trees, it's such an iconic view of Atlanta.
google avatar

Kiah R.

Yelp
The largest park in Atlanta and the most beautiful park in the city! It has a parking garage, street parking & is attached to the Atlanta Botanical Gardens. There are plenty of trails to walk, bike, run and skate on. Plenty of places to sit, workout, etc. Don't worry if you have to go to the restroom, they have a good number around the park, places to get some grub and parks for kids to play on.
google avatar

Aly N.

Yelp
it's a vast, nice park! great location and pretty much all you could ask for! enjoyed many festivals here :)
google avatar

Mecca F.

Yelp
Awesome park. Today turned out to be a nice day for a walk. Started at the belt line and ended up in this beautiful park with lots of walking. COVID enjoyment signs are present to wear mask, but no one was listening. Plenty of places to relax and chill. We picked a swing to refresh our thoughts before finishing our walk and returned back to the car. Definitely glad I walked into this park while visiting
google avatar

Tessa W.

Yelp
I love this place, and it's right next to my dogs grooming salon Puppy United. I take all my dogs here for a great walk and I enjoy seeing little updates in the garden. I'm very greatful for all the fun events they hold!!! Pride in this park is the best pride parade I've been too!!! Keep up the great work!!!

Yelp
So, I'm going to preface, that I'm not from GA. I heard this park was beautiful and had to give a look. So I hop on the MARTA, exited Art Center station, and walked on over. As I reached the Lake Clara Meer walking the edge. I had this sudden urge to, said politely, urgently go #2. I'm power walking, but calmly while mentally devising a plan to not #2 in public. I see Park Tavern in the distance, so I slowly rush that direction, not to panic and incur an incident. Hahaha ... I reach Charles Allen Drive Gate and I see 2 girls enter an elevator, so I thought. "Why is there an elevator in a park?" Suddenly, in my head, the cloud begins to part and the light shines down on the elevator. IT'S A RESTROOM! Now, you'd think I'd end the story there. But no, I thought I was saved. But as I handled my business, this toilet paper dispenser is coming out as if it's rationing for World War 3. I'm freaking the F out, because the restroom AI is starting to say, We do not detect any life forms in this operation. Please move NOW or we will open the doors and expose your nasty butt and all your business to the park. Guess what ... I luckily had napkins from previous restaurants in my backpack. The timer is counting down. I clean up faster than the Flash himself, the door open, right as I pull my pant up. The toilet automatically flushes ... Thank God. Because I had no idea how to flush it. What a nightmare! Oh ... Piedmont Park is very beautiful. I would love to see it in the spring time.

Yelp
Wow, just WOW! I was staying a few blocks away on a business trip and decided to go for a casual run on my last morning. This park took my breath away! I came in the middle of November and it was so beautiful with the sunshine and fall foliage. I really loved the view from the Mid-City reflection point (look it up on google maps if you want nice pictures), and the fact there are a variety of running trails and tracks around the park!
google avatar

Camia M.

Yelp
Came here for the dogwood festival. Unfortunately on the day I went it was cold and most of the art vendor shut down early but the park is nice and they still had the live entertainment and food trucks and drinks. I suggest coming on a warmer day to really enjoy your visit.
google avatar

Jaz'Min L.

Yelp
Was here a few days ago to enjoy a picnic with my girlfriend and her little ones. Park is always clean, nice, neat and always a fun time. After we ate, we took a walk around and then got to enjoy some foot races before we were pooped out. I really love this park. Huge, beautiful location and tons of things to do there and in surrounding areas.

Yelp
Beautiful park in the middle of the busy city. I stayed in Midtown for a week and I was able to walk to this lovely park every morning. Beautiful views and trees. Bicycles and electric scooters are available for rent. There is also a restaurant inside the park. During the weekend, I was able to buy local handmade products at the farmers market. I also heard that they have festivals in this park. It was great to see families and groups of people enjoying the park. Lovely place to relax and enjoy the outdoors in Atlanta!
google avatar

Renée S.

Yelp
I live across the street from park there is always something eventful going on. I love the free concerts in the summer and the farmers market vendors on the weekends. There's great walking/hiking trails, fishing ponds, places to sit and watch nature in all its beauty.
google avatar

Yelp
This park is like the 'Central Park' equivalent for Atlanta, GA. It has a lot of active people and a lot of things going on here no matter what season. There's a nice pond to take some good city reflection photos and plenty of fields to do activities or playgrounds to bring your kiddos to. There's a botanical garden, but unfortunately I wasn't able to visit it this trip. Oh well, next time! If you're visiting, I'd recommend getting a hotel in mid-town since I feel that's where a lot of things are happening and it's easy to go uptown or downtown from there. Atlanta is a pretty cool city and this park is like the cherry on top for it. Next time I come here, definitely going to hit up this park for a morning or evening run and just soak up that city life. Until next time!
