18/12 lunch time
We ordered and paid for multiple pies but we were given 2 less than we ordered. When we pointed this out, the manager (older lady) was extremely rude and raised her voice at us. She then proceeded to make the two pies that was missing from the order, but refused to give them to us, and wanted us to pay again for the two pies; despite us calmly explaining that we had already paid.
We told her that we had meetings to attend to and need to leave, but she made the sarcastic remark saying how can that be true when we are going to have our lunch (??? we got takeaway so that we can rush back to our meetings). We were then forced to show bank statements from multiple people to prove that we had already paid. After this whole process, and even after the manager found out they made the mistake, the manager did not apologise and simply ignored us. She even gave us two options - (1) she warms the pie up for us; or (2) we get a refund, but she keeps all the pies. Which I found were ridiculous options to give, given that we wasted about 30 minutes on this debacle, and had to deal with her rudeness the whole time.
I want to be clear that the front desk staff member (wearing a headband) was lovely - polite, apologetic, and genuinely trying to help, but repeatedly overridden by the manager.
This wasn’t about the missing pies - mistakes happen, and are acceptable. It was about the attitude and behaviour.
Because of this one manager, my colleagues and I have decided to boycott this place out of principle, which is a shame because the pies were good; and the front desk staff was such a nice person.
