My family was looking to stay at a place near my Aunt and Uncle's shore house and found this hotel. They decided to stay here since one of our cousin's has come here and said it was his go-to place.
The motel is relatively clean, I'll give them that. There's what it ends...
First of all, we arrived 15 minutes after check-in was supposed to start. My Mom and I had to drive around the parking lot FIVE TIMES at least before we found a spot (second to LAST SPOT in the back of the parking lot). This is due to all the people going to the restaurant next door (The Crab Trap) and using the hotel's parking.........
When we arrive, the woman checking in asked for our license plate number, and when my Mom said she wasn't sure, she pretty much demanded that "by tonight", my Mom needed to take a picture of the license plate to show her (we never ended up doing that...).
Since we had a lot of bags, I used a luggage cart that they had in the lobby to bring our bags upstairs. The cart was super hard to navigate and the wheels would barely move. It kept crashing into walls and not moving.
There is only one elevator in the entire motel, and it runs slow as molasses. (And the elevator is SMALL), it fits 3-4 people comfortably MAX. Any more than that is super super confining and claustrophobic.
When we got into our hotel room, the room seemed clean. The remote is covered in plastic (that we were NOT to remove according to the directions). There was also a sign in the bathroom talking about how all everyone raves about their "spa towels" and how they're able to be purchased for a set price. The towels felt SUPER rough... In addition, if any items were missing, they listed an itemized price list of how much you would pay for each item.
Once we got in the room, I left the luggage cart outside our room (figuring that hotel staff would grab it and bring it down). Five minutes after we got in our room, we received a phone call on the hotel phone. I answer and the Front Desk asks if I took a cart. When I said yes and that I left it outside the room, she says "Can you bring it down for the other guests to use since there's only three?" Is it normal for hotel guests to have to bring the cart back down??? I almost wanted to ask what their hourly rate was so that they could pay me...
Our hotel room also had a door which appears to be a conjoined room. However, we were nervous since the door didn't 100% close within the door frame (or at least didn't look like it), so we were scared someone from next door could come in if they really wanted to.
We slept fine in the room (the bed and the pillows were comfortable enough.
In the morning, when we were checking out, we went in the elevator and there was a used condom in the corner......... We notified the front desk and they were appalled that they had never seen that in their 26 years of working as a staff member.
Also, the cleaning supplies that the maids were using were very very strong and have a sickening powdery chemical smell. It ended up choking my Nana, and she is used to cleaning with bleach which is strong..
All in all, the motel served its purpose (we were only here two nights), but I wouldn't want to come back...
