oh my god!!! this is the first cafe that was perfectly clean and tidy!! i have been to many places where you can eat in lumberton and everything was dirty. because of this my husband constantly felt awkward. but this place was a complete surprise for me. clean, odorless carpet, tables are not sticky and do not stink of a dirty rag. the ceiling is covered with clapboard, which creates the feeling that you are on a ship. round lanterns create a cozy light. paintings on the wall and a large ship at the entrance, all this speaks of a marine theme. thanks for the perfect cleanliness and high service of the manager. she is a great girl!! now I will only go to this place to eat.

There’s only one restroom. I expected more for the price and items. Shrimp, flounder, clams, and scallops that was squeezed on this little plate. It’s not worth the money for this combination get something more simpler. Despite being with a large party the waitresses did simply good

Pier 41 isn’t just a restaurant, it’s a full plate of Southern comfort done right. I went all in with the large seafood platter — fried oysters, catfish, tilapia, and scallops — and every bite hit like the first time you hear your favorite song. Crispy on the outside, tender inside, and seasoned like someone’s grandma still runs the kitchen. If you see me out here — Bhadboy Rick — know I don’t just pull up anywhere. This is where you come when you want the kind of seafood that makes you slow down and appreciate life. Big plates, big flavors, and a real taste of Lumberton hustle.

Got there, parking lot was full, prepared to wait a bit. Nope, we were seated within minutes, greeted, order taken and food came out fresh and hot in about 10 minutes! Amber H was 1000% spot on with great, cheerful service!!! Well worth the drive from Fayetteville to Lumberton!

This is the best seafood restaurant I have ever been. Our server was fun and just a pleasure to interact with. But the real star was the food! The hush puppies were incredible and our meals were absolutely delicious. I had coconut shrimp and my partner had a broiled platter with scallops and shrimp. Everything was cooked to perfection. I can't wait to come back again!

My wife, son, and I stopped in for a early Sunday dinner. We only had to wait a few minutes to be seated. Once we were we got greeted with a smile and a basket of some amazing hush puppies. We ordered our food and within a few minutes it was being delivered. There was a wonderful family atmosphere to the whole place with everyone clearly enjoying the meal and company. Our food was absolutely spectacular from the clam chowder to the flounder. We all got different selections of the large fried seafood platter and none of us were disappointed. I will most definitely be recommending this place to all my people and we will definitely be back often.

The seafood was fantastic. Some of the best shrimp that I have ever eaten. The hush puppies were melt in your mouth. The sweet tea was real southern sweet tea. Our server kept our drinks full. We will definitely be back. We stumbled across this place because we went to the Agri-Supply and a you man recommended this restaurant to us. We will definitely will be back. Even though it is a hour and a half away.

Food was nothing impressive, was actually disappointed. Look at the pics and reviews online and figured we’d give it a try. Hush puppies were probably the best thing we had eaten there. The difference between the regular shrimp and the jumbo shrimp was negligible, literally feel like if there was a 1/4 difference between them it would have been a lot. Fried clam strips were good, the fried shrimp didn’t taste like they were fully cooked. We may give it another try, but if we do it won’t be for a while.

Our first visit was on Sunday. We were not expecting the crowd that we encountered. The food was well worth the wait. The servings were large and tasty. The hush puppy appetizer was absolutely delicious. The service was fast and friendly and everything was extremely clean. As senior citizens we watch our pennies. The value was excellent and we plan on going back for more!

The service here was amazing. Our server is one of the sweetest southern women you'll meet. The food, however, left much to be desired. My family & I travel through here just to get to Hilton Head Island, SC from VA. I like that it's a nice family friendly diner open late and good for traveling through to your next destination... But here's what we had and whether or not you'll like it. Grilled salmon... decent, not super memorable. The flavor was fine and it was cooked well. The hush puppies weren't my fave - they're the kind that look like scraps rather than golf balls. The deviled crab is interesting. I want fond of the flavor or texture - it's closer to deviled crab fritter than anything. The garden salad is mostly iceberg, but it did the trick to get some greens in me for the travels ahead. The fried dishes seem to be the specialty, so I'd recommend a fried platter if you're interested in something quick & tasty.

We chose to eat at Pier 41 Seafood because of the excellent reviews. My first impression was good. The restaurant was clean: tables, booths, and floors! We were seated as soon as we arrived. We were brought a basket of delicious hush puppies as soon as we sat down. They were some of the best I've ever had. I ordered: flounder, baked potato, and slaw. My husband ordered: bbq ribs, baked potato and a toss salad. We were well pleased. Our waitress was top notched. She checked on us often, and offered us refills on our unsweetened tea, several times. When I'm in the area, I'll visit Pier 41 Restaurant again.

Joined the family to celebrate my Father for his birthday. This location is a place I've visited since childhood and can say the space is still familiar with some updates to the interior. We were accommodated for a party of 60+ and the servers were efficient with drink orders and assuring our needs were met. The reserved space was booked for about 3 hours and provided ample space. They even made sure each table had fresh hush puppies as starters! The menu is made up of your typical fried, boiled/broiled seafood platters. They also offer selections such as chicken tenders, bbq, and sandwiches for those who prefer other options. I appreciate that the orders were out in a timely manner. My order had a delay but was resolved quickly. I ordered the house special (trout/shrimp/oyster) that came with fries, slaw and hushpuppies. Unfortunately, the food lacked in flavor and portion sizes. I couldn't decipher from any of the fried foods on my plate. This wouldn't be a top choice for me but this restaurant does cater to many locals who love the place and have for the years it's been around. Thanks again to the wonderful staff for accommodating my family.

Love the deluxe deadwood platter, service is great and fast. Love it !!would definitely recommend for fried seafood!

Local joint that meets or exceeds the beach restaurants. I have never had a bad experience here and my new gig is the seafood gumbo. The only possible change I would recommend would be a soup (gumbo) and sandwich combo. No fries or slaw just a nice Sammie and gumbo

Stopped in on our way to Charleston. It was twenty minutes before closing. The staff was friendly and welcoming. But the food is the reason to go. The seafood was fresh and well prepared. I had the broiled seafood platter. The portion was enormous. The fried shrimp platter came with about twenty shrimp. Definitely worth a stopover. Great family friendly seafood restaurant Website

Ambiance was nice; homey and comfortable. The service was great southern hospitality and I have no complaints as far as that. My main disappointment was the food. I ordered a fried flounder fish sandwich and it came super fast. I was so excited to try it because it looked delicious; however, it tasted like straight oil and was very greasy. When I picked the sandwich up oil was dripping from the fish and there was no flavor in the breading at all. Everything else I ordered: fries and a house salad, were good! The grilled items, like the salmon or chicken, look good, so if I go again, I might just get that.

Always get great service and never had a bad meal. Staff is always family friendly. Definitely a social atmosphere

The food and service was great. It had a pretty long line to get in but it moved fast! I was impressed with everything! I'll be back for sure.

We got the deluxe seafood broil. It was decent. The dish came with fish, scallop, shrimp, crab cake, and oysters on a sizzling plate. It was the saving grace of this dinner. I do not recommend the clam chowder though. It was the saddest clam chowder I ever had. Watery and holds no flavor at all. The alfredo pasta was also not good. I guess thats what pasta at a seafood restaurant gets you.

This used to be a great place to eat while visiting our family. We waited approx 30 min after signing in & were NOT seated as others bypassed us. Fam who frequent the place were told we could not sit at a 6 chair table as there were 5 of us & they sat 1 man at the other 6 chair table ' because he comes here all the time'' .shameful! Better service & food at local Italian place!

The food was absolutely amazing, the Service was 11/10 so friendly made you feel at home . The restaurant environment was friendly and plus they have great shirts! The crab Legs and the shrimp I highly recommended!

My sister and I had lunch here for her birthday. Like always the food was on point and my waitress Mikayla was the sweetest. The employees are always so welcoming and working hard. I never see anyone standing around with nothing to do. They keep it spotless and clean. Always happy to visit Pier 41!!

As soon as we were seated a basket of hush puppies was brought to our table. I ordered shrimp with one catfish ($11.95) with sweet potato fries and cole slaw. My husband had one piece of fried flounder ($10.95). Although our seafood was fried it was not greasy. The restaurant was very busy on Sunday at 12;30. The line for seating moved quickly. The restaurant was very clean.

I live right near this place so we eat from here atleast 2x a month and it is a hit or miss on a goodnight you'll get some soft warm hush puppies with the butter yummm catfish is my personal fave they fried foods is what everyone stops in for but they have expanded a lot over there years if you want fried seafood this is the spot to get it

Great food, we were in the Lumberton area on a business trip and decided that we wanted to stop in here for a bite, not knowing anything about the place except the name we took a chance. So glad we did, we were surprised by the cafeteria style dining and the fact that we were probably a the youngest patrons there told us that we were on a good spot. The wait staff were super friendly, my colleague and I both ordered the broiled dinners, they were absolutely amazing, food was hot, super flavorful and the portions were perfect! I had the seafood platter and as I mentioned, from portions to flavor, the platter was on point! Definitely recommend this spot when you are in the Lumberton area.

Really good family seafood restaurant with a family atmosphere. Megan L our Waitress was very friendly and attentive. Clam chowder was very good. Shrimp and Scallops were delicious and very generous portions. Hush puppies were great. Would definately come back here again

My favorite place to eat when I visit home. The fish and hush puppies are the best I've tasted through my travels.

Fresh and hot seafood! My favorite is the shrimp fries and hush puppies and don't forget the tartar sauce! The service is amazing they are all so friendly and the service is fast. You never have to sit and wait for long periods of time. From the time you order your food and sit and mingle for a few minutes your food is coming out. They also make sure your cup is never empty. Very good service and food!

The cocktail sauce doesnt seem to have hotsauce in it anymore. Thank you for fixing this.

I visited this place while I was visiting my new home in Chadbourn NC. We were told that this is the place to eat and that the food is great and that we would not be disappointed if we were to go and eat there. We found it to be a very nice place and everything that was said about it was true and more. The food, the hospitality, the waiter, the price and everything was great from start to finish. I can't wait to go back again and will recommend everyone that I meet in this area to go check it out. Please don't change but keep on doing what you are doing because you'll are the greatest. I will never forget my experience at Pier 41 Seafood

The food could have been fried harder needed salt. I had popcorn shrimp, scallops and trout, hubby had spots. I don't understand why everything was crowded on such a small plate. The temperature was ok. Cole slaw was a no for both of us. Hush puppies good prices very reasonable. Staff not overly friendly. Scallops were a good size.

The fried seafood platter was a little greasy for my liking and the clam chowder could have been hotter. Overall service was good.

I placed an online order on February 14, 2023 around 1:15pm.I picked up my order which was hot and tempting on the ride back home.I had ordered a small shrimp with fries, but I wasn't too hungry then.My intentions were to pick up my plate for a late dinner that night.Boy was I in for a surprise later on.I prepared said plate in it's original take-home plate in my microwave that night.Then I sat down to eat.After the first few bites I began to notice how gritty the shrimp were tasting.I thought at first I was just overthinking,so I took a few more bites.Not only was my entire plate gritty I suddenly realized that the shrimp I had began to devour HAD NOT BEEN WASHED BEFORE COOKING!!!!...I was so angry I threw the entire plate in the trash!Over $13.00 of my money wasted on a full plate of dirty fried shrimp! Pier 41???...I am really disappointed in YOU!

One of the best local restaurants that serve calabash style seafood. No buffet available. Multiple options available other than seafood. Lunch items available with smaller portions that seniors will enjoy. We've always enjoyed the seafood options but don't forget they also have delicious ribs and several sandwich options. Be careful relying on internet menu prices. The clam chowder is delicious with my personal favorite being the scallops with the stuffed crab a close second.

Delicious catfish and the hush puppies are the best I have had in years. Fast service and with these prices got me wanting to move back to NC!

Nice spot. First time as an adult in North Carolina. Wanted some bbq or seafood. It was slim pickins for bbq so seafood it was. Babe got fried clams strips with fries. He said they were ok. I got small seafood platter with flounder, shrimp and tilapia with fries. Needed some old bay or lemon pepper but that's just my taste. Both platters came with cole slaw and hush puppies. Didn't care for the hush puppies. Nice strip. You drive around back, park in a numbered space and someone comes to take your order or your name if you called it in. To be fair we didn't eat right away so that could have mattered. I didn't get a picture of his food. Would visit again.

Mmmm, just what I was in the mood for; a tasty plate of seafood. The hushpuppies were cooked just right. I ordered the broiled shrimp in their house seasoning, which was quite mild. The shrimp were cooked perfectly. I spied other folks' calabash fried shrimp and they looked reaaaal good too! Ill definitely be back for them and some fish and scallops! The restaurant has a lot of seating, with the ambiance being casual, bright, and lifely. We were seated quickly and the wait staff were prompt and friendly. Food came out in a timely manner. Prices are fair for the type of food and portions. A quick note tho- if you say yes to the loaded option for baked potato, you are charged more. I didn't see that on the menu if it's there. No real complaints here though. Delicious

Driving from Charleston SC to DC, up the I 95, happened to be directed to Lumberton NC by the nice lady in the NC welcome centre. HER choice, formerly a favourite lunch stop has reinvented itself as a bakery, NOT serving HOT meals....... we find ourselves hOngry, enjoying a rest stop....wot do do ? A NON chain option.... yelp reviews look encouraging. these small town food stops are like a 'lucky dip' innit ? maybe a better metaphor down south is Forrest Gump's " life's a box a chocolates"..... Narrowed down to choice of 2. Decision between Asian and American.... goes to the LOCAL...seafood by pier 41 easy parking. promptly seated, given menus a cuppa decaf coffee, washrooms tidy, spacious comfortable dining room. It's 3/4 full of locals, a very good sign BETTER than Gilligan's in Charleston yesterday. Their seafood is famous and pricy by comparison, our experience here is a good one.... albeit A few flaws : Soup served lukewarm not HOT. Clam chowder improved markedly when heated properly. Ditto coffee, but couldn't get refills on a timely basis, gave up eventually = loss of star. Boney bits in the seafood platter where they shouldn't be. Served in a big clump overcrowded on a too small plate, paid extra for JUMBO shrimp, they weren't, sweet potato fries cold unappetizing. no FRESH lemon? a little plastic bottle? lose a star instantly Positives too. Friendly staff. Tasty green salad. FRESH cold much appreciated. Slaw nicely mixed & good flavour. Generous portions and lagniappe hush puppies, not that we could eat em all. They're a tad HEAVY for this diner, wife ate two and said YUM! Solid 3 star lunchtime dining experience. Pier 41 COULD be so much better...with a little attention paid to service and details. Qualified recommendation.

Okay, we went there because they got a good rating on Yelp !! My wife had the "small" shrimp dinner, the waitress brought out the two plates for comparison. The smaller looked like the right size. . There was no way she, even with my help eating a few, could finish her meal I had the hamburger steak with sweet potato fries and the burger was great. Once more we win with Yelp while traveling !!

Was in town for the evening and found Pier 41 Seafood. Their prices are reasonable and they have plenty of options. I ordered the deluxe broiled platter with oysters (shrimp, fish, scallops, and crab), French fries, hush puppies, and a pink lemonade. All of that for $20.01. The food was ok, a touch lackluster but hits the spot if you want seafood. I wasn't expecting to get a crab cake when I ordered this, so that was an unpleasant surprise to receive instead of crab legs but I should have known with the inexpensive cost. It didn't have real crab meat, and the oysters are taken out of the shell already. I normally do not like hush puppies but they have really good ones! The employees were friendly and accommodating and the restaurant looks like a nice place to dine in.

I was visiting a friend who lives in Lumberton. We wanted a bite to eat and I saw this place. I am so glad that we stopped in. First of all, we were greeted with smiles and southern eastern nc charm. I joked with the hostess because she sat us over in the corner, I laughed saying that I was in "time out". Just fun banter that she laughed along with, thank goodness ;) The service was great, the food was fantastic - very tasty! The atmosphere was nice and royally crowded. This speaks to me that I am eating at a local favorite. It also tells me that the locals usually go where there is good food and service. No doubt I was in the right place. Everything that I tried while here was exceptionally good. Even when checking out the cashiers make you feel at home. This hospitality speaks great volumes when it seems to be lacking in so many restaurants. Thank you to all the staff for making this "first timer" over the top satisfied and right at home! Whenever I go to Lumberton, I must return to eat at this establishment for certain.

All the food has been really good. Normally I order pickup. Always check your bag or you may be missing requested condiments or to few.

The New England clam chowder, was a styrofoam cup of warm milk with a little bit of clam and potato pieces. They did give a bunch of crackers to soak up the milk. This isn't New England Clam Chowder! Save your money!

We loved this place!! Just passing through after a week vacation in SC... heading to VA!! It was recommended by Yelp with a super rating of 4.5... we would definitely give it a 5+!! Steve, the owner, took the time to sit and chat with us awhile... we really enjoyed our conversation with him and it gave us time to tell him how wonderful the food was and also our waitress, Cheyenne, was excellent, too!! I had the small fried seafood platter with shrimp, scallops, and oysters... great amount and perfectly cooked with an awesome baked potato, also perfectly cooked!! My husband had the large grilled platter and marveled at how great it all tasted!! We hope to return!!

Food is great just wish my scallops were a little crispier as well as the shrimp. But the taste is sooooo good!
