This property is in a secluded, private area, which was a nice touch for our girls’ trip. We arrived on Thursday around 4 p.m., and immediately noticed a musty, mildew-like smell upon entering. We reached out to the owner right away to report that the A/C wasn’t working properly and that two of the ceiling fans were also not functioning. Additionally, a fake plant had bugs in it, which made the space feel unclean and unwelcoming. Although we tried to overlook these things to enjoy our time together, the issues continued. Someone from the restaurant came to tidy up while we were still in the unit, and we were told that a maintenance person would come by the next day. On Friday afternoon, someone fixed the fans, but the A/C was never properly addressed—it never cooled below 74 degrees the entire time we were there. We later discovered the dishwasher didn’t work either. We reported it, but no one came. The worst part came on Saturday night. After returning from dinner, we walked into a strong, unbearable sewage smell inside the house. We had to leave the back door open and once again called the emergency line for help. Overall, it feels like this property has gone downhill. For the rate they charge, the experience was unacceptable. We had hoped to be compensated at least partially for the inconvenience, but we never heard back. Sadly, I wouldn’t recommend this place and wouldn’t return.

We had a little staycation here for Valentine’s and we loved it. Clean. Quiet. Peaceful. And the view of the water …. Beautiful. They even had a bottle waiting for us as we arrived. We had everything we could of needed for just my husband and I . Just bring toothpaste. They have the little “hotel” bottles of shampoo, etc. We didn’t fully utilize the kitchen so not sure if they had everything ,such as cookware. They do have cooking utensils. So I’m sure there were pans. We dined at Pier 6 seafood and received 20% off with our stay here. They do have everything for coffee. 😁 Enjoyed my morning coffee gazing into God’s creation. Absolutely beautiful. Will be back.

I had to go back and forth with my 5 star review and let me tell you why. My husband and I stayed here for his birthday weekend. We invited friends over for cocktails before our dinner reservations at their restaurant Pier 6. We stayed in bungalow 4 which has the best views of both the sunset and sunrise. The bungalow was clean (which is my pet peeve at any hotel). After dinner my husband and I parted with our friends and returned to the bungalow had some wine, and watched the sunset. My only problem was I was afraid none of this was going to happen because I didn’t receive any check in information after booking my reservations weeks in advance. Since it was a birthday surprise for my husband I started to panic when I couldn’t get in touch with anyone the day of check in. Fortunately someone did call me and apologized for the lack of communication and everything turned out great. For this reason I gave the bungalow a 5 star based on the outcome. My husband was still surprised and loved it. If I had to rate this location on communication it would definitely be a 3, but we all deserve second chances and the overall experience once we arrived at the bungalow was exceptional.

My husband selected Pier 6 restaurant and Bungalows for our 39th anniversary. He watched the documentary with Joel Hansen a professional eater competition of 15 dozen of raw oysters at pier 6 restaurant and decided to relax and enjoy some oysters and celebrate with a great view! We loved the oysters, view & Bungalow ! We did however have to remove the perfume plug-ins {2} that we could find. So strong the scents were literally in our bedding. I could not sleep for the wheezing and smell in my pillow. Very much allergic to these plug-ins etc as most are. We removed the plug ins immediately. OPENED BOTH DOORS to air out but could never get rid of totally. We love the place! But we suggest removing all plug-ins to mask any and all smells and just open the doors during cleanings and most importantly GET RID OF THE WASHERS WHICH ARE CAUSING YOU YOUR MUSKY MOLD PROBLEMS IN THE FIRST PLACE. These washers are known for molded odors. WE did not smell any bad odors but from the laundry room which we just keep closed the entire time. Hope this helps for such a gorgeous property! Please remove the plug ins so we can come back and not get sick. Pier 6 Restaurant We loved it all! The day we came by for some oysters & crab cakes delicious Lemon Drop so disappointed! For such a beautiful restaurant cocktails should be spot on. The lemon Drop was so sweet along with my husbands margarita. Please check your agave mix or bartender. Thank you

Very disappointed with the housekeeping services. When we arrived the dishwasher was full of dirty dishes. Supplies were very sparse and had to call several times for necessities and would take a couple of hours for supplies to be replenished. No garbage bags, empty containers of dish soap and hand soap. One extra roll of toilet paper for four people for a weekend, one wash cloth for 4 people, no pillow cases on pillows, 2 blankets for four people. Advertised 2 piers for fishing and fishing poles and equipment available. One pier is destroyed and you can't walk on. The other pier is half there. Fishing poles were literally poles. Missing reels and fishing line and fishing equipment. Shower floor needed a good cleaning and the water didn't drain because the floor was unleveled. Refrigerator needed a good cleaning too. Liked the gated entrance and the decor was lovely. Very spacious and comfortable for four people. For the cost they need to review their housekeeping services and being more customer oriented. Best thing was the espresso machine, but doesn't work without pods, that they sparingly provided.

PLEASE READ REVIEWS BEFORE BOOKING!! I should have read them before booking. We rented bungalow 2 and our friends rented bungalow 3. Bungalow 2 at first seemed clean at first, but going to bed, the sheets were not clean. It had a big stain and hairs. They didn’t change the sheets. There were no toiletries , had only 1 towel and found the rest of the towels in the dryer and they were damp. The furniture in the back was filthy, the shower was very slippery going in and the shower curtain was disgusting. Bungalow 3, had towels on the floor, and beds were not made. Also, shower curtains were so dirty. And there was a funky smell. Called for housekeeping and they apologized saying that there was a death in the family, so whoever was supposed to clean it left. Reading the comments, they have done this many times. For the amount paid, you expect cleanliness. But the views are great.

From the outside looking in, you would never imagine that this cute, modern condo turned bungalow perches itself in San Leon, TX featuring bay views and private fishing piers. The owners of Pier 6 Seafood restaurant also boast this amazing staycation getaway that's within a fifteen minute walk from their seafood and oyster house restaurant. The bungalows all feature an open concept layout, freshly painted white walls, and carefully picked furnishings to match the modern and clean vibes. While there are some absolute great perks about this place, like the open concept, cozy sofas, fully stocked kitchen (minus food and drinks), and a dining table that hosts at least 6 people comfortably, they still fell short in some areas. Beautiful furnished patios (although when it rains, you can't really enjoy it because all the furniture gets wet) and fishing poles and gear to get you started. I appreciated that they were mindful of couples, groups, and kids as well. Very well thought out floor plan to have parties and gatherings but also enjoy an extra long romantic getaway, whatever your occasion. My family and I were not really thrilled that both bungalows we reserved had a funky smell to them. I'd say a mix between new furniture smell, cigarette smell (not sure if it's no-smoking), but musty with a side of mildew. So while the photographs accurately depict the layout and views of this bungalow, once you stepped foot inside, it was a whole different story. We were greeted with swarms of gnats, gnats everywhere, and we spent the first half of the evening trying to swat the ones we could. There were gnats, mosquitos, and the bed and bed sheets didn't feel crisp and clean. My husband and I were bit up throughout the night while we were sleeping. Gnats are a nuisance!...I'd say for the price per night at their bungalow, they need to make sure that the place is spotless and find solutions to rid of their gnat problems. Put bug zapper lanterns in the patio, or the gnat trap strips, and have someone deep clean the garbage disposal in the sink as that's the number one area where they fester and reproduce. Also, for the amount we paid, everything should be new/refilled or fully stocked once we arrive, but in our bungalow, both the dish soap and hand soap in the bathroom were near empty, and I'm not sure if there were extra paper towel rolls available inside the bungalow, but we were only provided one roll, and not instructed about where we can find the extras. I rented this space in hopes that we could be 100% relaxed and free to celebrate my hubs birthday, but it ended up being a bit disappointing to say the least. Pros: -open concept -full kitchen -twin beds for kids -dual shower heads Cons: -Price -Cleanliness -button on the inside of the bungalow to exit (not a fan) -a phone number is provided closer to your reservation date, however, it is only stated to contact that number in case of emergencies. I would highly recommend that there be a phone number available to call if there are any issues, or changes to the reservation that need to be made, or any questions PRIOR to the reservation. Right now, there's only an email address available, and I didn't have a great experience with that either. I emailed a couple of times, and never got a response or reply back. I only received an email reply back once, and then after that, any future emails were unanswered.
