Pier Burger

A fast food burger joint on the pier. Order at the window and stand around until they call your name. The fries were good even though they were a bit cold. The burger on the other hand was piping hot. Service was okay. I got a double burger. It was plenty for two people to split for a bite.

After a packed week of conferences, I decided to sneak off to the pier for a quick trip. Let me tell you, I encountered quite possibly the finest burger I've ever laid eyes on. The cheese cascaded perfectly over the juicy, well-seasoned patty, and atop that, an impeccably cooked egg. Trust me, the umami explosion from that combination intensified the cheese and beef flavors by tenfold. Shortly thereafter, I hopped on my flight back to Europe, exhausted but content. I hate leaving negative reviews but feel I must protect my fellow midwestern ice cream-loving girls out there. This place says it sells custard but my kindest description is “clearly Dreyer’s with barely mixed stale toppings.” For $10! Do not be deceived!!!

Burger restaurant in an iconic part of Santa Monica. I ordered a burger without cheese since they didn’t have anything other than American cheese (which was disappointing) and the beef patty tasted a bit dry. This could’ve been due to the fact that I visited during “off peak hours”, but I’m not entirely sure.

First time here, and I was looking for something to eat since we were here for a cars and coffee show. This place was pretty busy and looked like it had a lot of history. I was looking for something breakfast instead of burgers and fries. We ordered a breakfast burger, and it was amazing. It was fresh and didn't feel too heavy and greasy. The hamburger patty looked like a smash burger. I was surprised along with the bacon and egg it had lettuce and tomato. This is what gave it a balance that wasn't so greasy. I definitely would love to come back and try the milkshakes and fries.

Fast service for fresh fast food. The burgers are amazing, fries stay warm and crispy. They will even make your burger protein style. It was actually by far the best lettuce wrapped burger I've ever had. The lettuce was the perfect amount and just the right kind. So full of flavor! There's indoor and outdoor dining so it's a nice break from the sun, if you need that

My eldest daughter and I were at Santa Monica Pier for the Heal the Bay beach cleanup volunteer event. Afterwards, we strolled on the pier for a little bit. When I saw custard shake, I knew I had to pay Pier Burger a visit. We had already ate at Bubba Gump Shrimp Co so we weren't hungry, but I just wanted the shake. We got in line from the outside with about 3 people in front of us. Once we got up to the order window, staff was welcoming and helpful. After my curiosity questions LOL, I ordered the strawberry custard shake. They only have one size and it's a pretty decent cup size almost like a 28+ oz cup. The wait wasn't too long. We picked up our shake from the inside. They have inside and outside seating. We just stood at the outside bar-like table. I was so looking forward to the custard texture and taste. Unfortunately, it was not as custardy as I would have preferred. It tasted more milky than custardy. Nevertheless, it was still a good shake. Would I get it again? Maybe. Anyway, they are known for their burgers and fries. I don't eat beef anymore so it doesn't do me any good, but they do have a veggie burger. They also have chicken sandwiches and hot dogs. Besides shakes, they also have floats, ice cream sundaes, and something called concretes (maybe it's a thick shake). Menu is not massive... just enough of basic coverage! =) If you're hungry for burgers, fries, drinks, and more, this is the place to hit at the Santa Monica Pier!

Heard this place was a classic to go to on the Santa Monica pier, so my partner and I came! Ambiance is very casual and definitely had the hole in the wall vibe! Service was fast but we were pretty bummed that when my partner and I came, that their machine to make floats and ice cream were down and I heard their drinks and dessert are popular lol, maybe next time! I got the fish sandwich which is made of local white sea bass, and my partner got their signature burger! We got fries and soda too. Their food was not bad for their price! Def gonna visit again for their drinks and dessert tho hehe

Crispy chicken sandwich? More like flat sandwich! Let's just say I got more bread than meat. Even the fries had more seasoning than the sandwich.

Best burger in LA hands down!!! What was ordered: Double cheese burger Singe cheese Burger Grilled hotdog Small fries (1/2 lb) All served on potato buns I got them fully loaded with Lettuce, tomatoes, pickles and grilled onions Hot dog was cut drown the middle and grilled Fries were hot and crispy Staff was nice ans helpful. The place gave off old school vibes which I loved. Simple decor and seats but the food keeps you coming back for more. $30 with tax and tip Worth every penny. Definitely coming back here

Pretty good! We were walking around the beach and my husband suddenly got a really intense craving for some pop. We got that and then some. We opted for a float and some fried, after seeing how good the ones on another patron's plate looked. The food and drinks were pretty good, they definitely satisfied our craving! The place was very heavily staffed with lots of friendly people trying to help maintain it, take orders, cook, tidy up, etc. The locale is in a very high traffic area, but it's worth stopping in!

It wasn't very busy when we went, but it was very slow to get your order in. They need to streamline the ordering process better. I ordered a strawberry ice cream and was given a vanilla ice cream. I was quickly given the correct order and it didn't bother me. I think it's important to note that service was a bit slow. The strawberry Ice Cream cone was delicious according to my son. I think he likes anything sweet especially ice cream. I will admit it was pretty good. I probably wouldn't come back as it's a tourist trap.

I decided to give Pier Burger another try. Nothing huge just an order of fries and soda and I regretted it. It was cold outside so people tried to form a line inside and they were quickly told to stand outside in the cold. Luckily I was at the counter when they told people to wait outside. I ordered fries and a souvenir cup of soda and stood off to the side waiting to be called. The man who was calling order numbers said "make sure you have your ticket" and I realized I was never handed a receipt. I let the man know and he was able to reprint my receipt. At this point about 5 minutes had passed. While waiting I start to notice people who came after me getting their food that included fries. The man calling ticket numbers comes and asks me "you didn't get your fries yet?" I told him nope. At this point I've been waiting about 20 minutes. It looked like they threw on a new batch of fries at this point and finally I got mine but they had definitely forgot that I was waiting for a while. It was one order of fries and one drink. Should have been super simple. The fries were good though. Some random man walking through the restaurant decided to take a few. Watch out. Seems like he might do this often

One of the best things about this place is its location. It's right on the Santa Monica pier, which makes it the perfect spot to grab a treat and then take a walk on the beach. However, apart from that, there weren't many other positive qualities about this place. We only ordered two shakes, but it took a surprisingly long time, around 15-20 minutes, to receive our order. There were sooo many people waiting. The worst part of the experience was the cleanliness of the restaurant. The tables were left with trash on them, the condiment stand was a mess, and it just didn't feel clean anywhere. I understand that it's a busy area and the staff must be occupied with other tasks, but it was a bit much. On a positive note, the shake itself was good. I just don't think it was good enough to make up for the experience overall.

Food was super hot and fresh. Burger was great. Service good. Place is super busy but they have it down and you get your food quick. Such a yummy lunch.

For the amount of people in line, we got our food relatively quickly. The Pier Burger exceeded my expectations. It was fresh and delicious, perfect for a midday eat at the beach! The restaurant itself was a bit small and hard to move around when crowded. Other than that, wonderful experience, perfect stop on the pier!

Considering it's on the pier, this place was actually pretty decently priced and the food itself was really good. The filling and the meat of the burger was really juicy and fresh. My only complaint is that the buns are not the best but honestly overall still a really nice burger place if you're hanging out on the pier.

There is no burger that compares to the burgers here. These burgers will blow your mind away. They are out of this world and absolutely delicious. They use the best cut of beef, and they always have the best cheese for the burgers. I also love all their fries and their shakes as well. We always make a trip out to the pier just so we can eat at this burger place. I highly recommend it and don't recommend you guys walking by. It definitely stop and just share some thing just so you can see you've tried it. Once you try it, I promise you you will be hooked. There is lots of sitting at the back of the restaurant. See you don't have a problem there.

Perfect place to eat for a day at the pier. LOCATION & DECOR: Located on the beach side of the Santa Monica pier right in there middle of the action. Beach shack vibes with indoor and covered seating. The setup is a little wonky. The order line is across the way from the kitchen and right in the middle of the sitting area inside. Another door leads you Right next to the order counter although you can't order from there. You have to find the order line. FOOD & DRINK: -Food: Burgers, fries and hot dogs. Had the Pier Burger and it was so good. A simple burger made right. -Drinks: usual fountain drinks including Dr pepper and Mr. Pibb. PRICE: $$ You'll spend the usual amount for a meal here. Between $10-$20 per person. AMENITIES: -Indoor and extended covered seating. -Fill your own Ketchup and mustard station with lidded containers. -Fountain drinks STAFF & EXPERIENCE: The staff is so fun! They were joking around with each other who could prep food the fastest. They were laughing and servicing customers. Very vocal crew. There are 2 entrances. One for the line to order and another for entry/exit. It's easy to not know where the line is, but it's the door facing the kitchen, not the door parallel to it. You'll see a sign hanging where the line starts. Food for 4 people came out within 15 minutes and was warm and prepared perfectly. Fries were crispy, but could've used more salt or some salt if none was used. However, that's also what ketchup is for.

Generally, food at tourist-centric sites are well to be avoided, but Pier Burger delivered more than promised. My SO was craving what looked like soft serve on the sign. What in fact they were serving was ice cream sundaes. Big, big Sundays! The ingredients of the Sunday were balanced perfectly, there was enough hot fudge to satisfy me, and the quantity was enough to have both of us walk away with a rolling step . The service is a very simple queued system without much delay today. The ambiance is exactly what you expect of a place called Pier Burger. And the staff were superlative. They were fast, accurate, and asked just the right questions to deliver a big cup of joy to my SO. Thank you everyone!

I must confess, Pier Burger on the Santa Monica pier exceeded my expectations for a burger joint. It's undeniably impressive! Despite the long line, we were pleasantly surprised at how quickly we received our burgers, shakes, and french fries. The prices were fantastic, and the establishment was incredibly well-organized and clean. The customer service was top-notch, with all the employees being genuinely friendly. Okay so I live in LA and would never have thought that there's a reasonably priced burger place with good burgers at the pier. I've been to the pier sooo many times my whole life and never even noticed this place before. It's a small hole in the wall diner feel with great burgers! I got the single burger with pickles and grilled onion and it was so good! Also ordered the fries and they were tasty as well. There's indoor and outdoor seating as well.

The yummiest burgers and fries in the Santa Monica area. This is my third visit there, and they are always consistent. The fries are crispy and yummy. The burgers are juicy and the buns are super soft. The wait is actually not to bad, but we went in October this time so there were way less crowds.

If you're looking for a good smash burger and fries, I recommend Pier Burger! We came on a busy Sunday night, and got 2 double Pier burgers with chili cheese fries. Service was pretty quick, and the food was delicious. Pier Burger is located on the Santa Monica Pier, so you'll have to pay for parking if you want to park nearby. The only other downside was they don't have much indoor seating, so we had to sit at their tables outside. Luckily, they had heat lamps, which made the freezing cold a little more bearable. Will definitely be back to try their shakes!

A super casual burger spot right on the pier. Very decently priced and delicious. You can get a single cheeseburger for $7. The buns are like brioche and pretty good when fresh. Lines can get pretty long but it's not that bad. They add a 3% service charge to your check. Communal tables on their covered patio or a few tables inside. There are public bathrooms right across in case you need to wash hands before or after eating. They also sell ice cream cones/cups in case you're in the mood for dessert afterwards. Flavors are limited (strawberry, chocolate, vanilla), but a good option to complete your meal.

Great food, reasonable prices considering the location. We ordered two veggie burgers, one bacon and cheese dog, one pier burger and one chicken sandwich along with large fries. Everything came out fresh and tasty. Highly recommend. The hot dog and chicken sandwich were stars, the pier burger next and the veggie burgers come last compared to others.

This place was right on the pier. Placed my order and waited for my name to be called. It was really quick. I had got cheese burgers, fries and shakes all were really good . Will definitely eat here again

Food good but the service and prices were just unreasonable. I got fries and a coke for $11 and when I went to go get a refill and they told me I need to pay a dollar for a refill. So i paid $5 for a drink and then had to pay again for a refill come on!!! Do not recommend

The burgers are good. The bread is very soft and delicious but nothing amazing about the burger. Definitely on the pricey side. No free refills. The crew was regular crew, nothing really outstanding or memorable. The fries were cold. Has an outside patio with heaters for the cold weather. Paid $38 for two burgers, one fry, and one shake.

I enjoyed a very very tasty burger from here when I was at the pier today. I've seen this spot before and wanted to stop in and finally did so. So glad I did. These burgers are fresh, and have a clean taste to it. Even having the double cheese burger it was perfect portion. It wasn't greasy (which is ok sometimes) and eating it after didn't make me catch the itis either. Fries were good. Good crisp to them, but super hard. But back to the burger, the bun was really soft. I think the way to go was the double burger. Not going to lie it was a lot of bun, so I think the double cheese burger balanced it out. I'll keep an eye out when I go back here. There's other stuff on the menu but I'll likely stick to the burger again since it's in the name.

I didn't have high hopes for a burger joint on the most popular pier in LA. However to my surprise, my expectations were far exceeded! The burgers are fresh and flavorful. One star off because even though the French fries were good and they give you a lot, they could have been a bit crispier. The strawberry lemonade was also very good and paired well with the burger and fries. The frozen custard with cookie dough was definitely a highlight after the meal and tasted better than a regular ice cream to me. Prices are fair and depending when you go, this place does get pretty busy!

Really good burger joint on the Santa Monica Pier! I saw a line poking out the door, and knew this place had something to it. Ambiance perfectly fit the aesthetic of a pier fast food joint. So I walk around for a little bit and come back. I had a burger, fries, and an ice cream called the Route 66 concrete. The ordering process should be a little more streamlined, or maybe they were short staffed. When I came back it wasn't super busy, but I still waited about 20 minutes for my burger and fries, but only a minute or two for my ice cream. The Route 66 concrete was spectacular, and the custard that was used blew me away. Super creamy and cold. After the burger and fries came out, I thought the fries were amazing as well. Right level of crisp and salt. The burger was also very good, but it wasn't as great as other reviewers said theirs were. Maybe it's just a matter of taste. Great little spot on the pier!

Had to get a quick snack before we hit the beach, thus was the first place we spotted. My rating is just for the strawberry shake because that is all I tried. It was nice to see they were using real Wisconsin Custard to make there thick and creamy shakes topped with real whip cream. The shake had chuncks of strawberries and tasted very refreshing on a warm spring day. I will say the food prices look fairly reasonable and the portions looked large from what I observed when customers were picking up their orders.

Since the aptly named Pier Burger is located on the Santa Monica Pier, I was sort of expecting something overpriced and underwhelming, but wow was I surprised. My burger here was fantastic and puts In-N-Out to shame. I loved the crispy char on the well-seasoned burger and the fluffy potato bun. I devoured this burger and savored every bite. Plus, the pricing is very reasonable, both for LA but also being in a peak tourist area.

Yummy burgers. Staff is very friendly! The manager Bridget was nice! And the cashier Mustafo was great, he said if he could eat one thing for the rest of his life it would be a pier double burger and i totally agree!

They bill themselves as "The Last Burger on Land", but it also represents one of the last places to nosh at the westernmost point of Route 66. How about that? Anyway, Jamie W. had a hankering for a late morning ice cream cone. We were just strolling on Santa Monica Pier and couldn't be stopped. No rationale, just went with the flow. There were less people in here than I would've expected at that hour, but those who were there apparently need fries at any hour of the day. It was basically a beach meal burger. Noting too shabby. It was a hot Sunni California day. Got mad hungry and wanted to eat something good while the other places had lines longer than Disneyland. Not gonna lie the fries were way better then in and out. The burger bun had to be the fluffiest I've ever bitten into. Simple and tasty

There aren't that many food options at the pier but this was stood out to me from seeing the people eating outside on the picnic benches, so I had to try it. When you walk in you're going to notice flies everywhere and I don't mean one or two flies, I mean like at most 20-30 flies roaming around the air in the indoor seating and in their kitchen. Which is most likely why everyone was sitting outside rather than inside. Don't want to have flies in your food. I saw a few flies stuck to the cups for drinks in the back. Seems unsanitary and they need to get that checked out because I don't think reoccurring flies can pass a health inspection. The food is pretty expensive to be so mediocre. I got a hot dog because I love hot dogs, I mean who doesn't, right. The meat itself is delicious with ketchup but the bun was drier than the Sahara dessert. Didn't even get to finish the entire bun, I mainly just ate the hot dog. On the other hand, the strawberry lemonade was so good and refreshing.

I've got to admit, for a burger place on the Santa Monica pier, Pier Burger is pretty legit! I came during the summer with my kids and my two nephews who had never been to the pier and after going on the roller coaster and Ferris wheel we decided it was time for lunch. I wasn't really sure where to go for lunch but since the kids had to go to the bathroom we went there first and that's when I saw Pier Burger. The line was a little on the long side and it took a while to place the order but we got burgers and milkshakes and french fries and you know beach food. Order after order went through and finally we got our food. I wouldn't say it was pricey but it definitely shows that everybody has been raising prices in order to combat this inflation issue. I brought the food to the kids and had pretty low expectations of what it was going to taste like. I'm happy to say that I was pleasantly surprised. My burger was really quite delicious and the french fries were hot still and nice and crispy. The people who had milkshakes in our group also loved their milkshakes. I'd certainly make another trip here if I'm in the area to have another burger.

Pier Burger is located at the beautiful Santa Monica Pier, which is a must stop if you are visiting the area. The Santa Monica Beach is right there and there is just so much to do in the area. Park and just start walking. Pier Burger has great burgers, shakes and other drinks. They have tasty hot dogs and ice cream. You and your family will be in high calorie heaven. The prices are reasonable, besides you will be broke after paying for all the rides on the Pier. The service is fast and there is indoor and outdoor seating. You order at the counter and wait for your food. You can take it to go if you want. You will love this place. We do.

Best waffle cones on the pier. Kay has the best attitude and service. Definitely will be back!
