Tucked beside Sydney Harbour Bridge on a heritage-listed pier, this boutique escape offers stunning views of the bridge, harbor, Luna Park funfair and Walsh Bay’s wharves, near historic quarter The Rocks and Circular Quay. Nice. What’s the crowd like? Pier One Sydney Harbour—part of the Marriott’s Autograph Collection—attracts leisure and business travelers. Its atmospheric, central location suits holidaymakers experiencing the sights and culture vultures attending a show at Sydney Theatre Company’s nearby wharf. The good stuff: Tell us about your room. Blending Federation-style decor with contemporary comforts, the 189 rooms and suites are white and light, with large windows. Heritage rooms gaze inwards towards The Rocks or treat yourself to a Waterside room overlooking the wharves, harbor or bridge. Suites separate the bedroom and living area. We’re craving some deep, restorative sleep. They got us? King beds are dressed in fine linens and duvets. How about the little things, like mini bar, or shower goodies. Any of that find its way into your suitcase? Rooms include a bar and tea- and coffee-making kit, handy for whipping up drinks while you watch your flatscreen TV.
