PIER Restaurant

An unforgettable culinary experience PIER was one of the finest dining experiences I’ve ever had. Yes, it’s expensive - let’s get that out of the way. But this isn’t expense for the sake of it. This is cooking at its finest and most accomplished, and if you have the opportunity to dine here, you will never forget it. The curated set menu is a feast for the eyes down to the finest details - the serving plates, the cutlery, every element thoughtfully considered. From the moment you’re welcomed at the door and guided to your table, to the moment you’re walked out and bid farewell, it’s 5-star service in a 5-star venue. Some portions are small and lean more toward visual artistry than hearty satisfaction, but by and large everything is flavourful and impeccably executed. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this place. I hope it isn’t a once-in-a-lifetime experience for me, though it’s definitely not an everyday one. This is more than dinner - it’s an experience.

Worth a Michelin star. An almost perfect menu. Very welcoming waiter. The view to the harbour is very nice. You sit quite on comfortable chairs. I liked the wagyu beef more than the lamb. The lamb had a too mild taste. The mussels have been one of my favourites. Only the tuna was too spicy. The chocolate dessert is very mummy. I could have eaten two of them. The pralines are offered in a beautiful Treasure Box. I find the ferro style praline too caramel but the mousse o chocolate is very chocolaty and the one with bubbles inside surprisingly. Worth the money if you can afford it. I liked it more than the menu in La Colombe.

Some of the best food I’ve ever had! We visited for the first time recently & had the tasting menu, my wife had the vegan tasting menu which was also made gluten free for her with a days notice! We also had the women in wine pairing which was the perfect addition to the tasting menu! We had such a wonderful experience with the extremely knowledgeable staff talking us through each course & each different wine! We cannot recommend this enough it’s a must visit if you’re in Cape Town!

We just came to Pier for our fourth visit and we were feeling troubled because maybe, we wouldn’t have gotten the same experience as we were used to. But we were wrong. Such a great experience. Beautiful wine pairing. Excellent service. This restaurant is a good reason enough to move to Cape Town. What a blast! Thank you!

We had a great dinner - Chefs menu. All dishes prepared to perfection and presented in style and knowledgeable. Bubblies went well with all dishes - you can never go wrong with bubblies. Our host - Romy - was spectacular and made us feel very welcome.

If you want a Michelin grade, top 50 restaurants in the world, head to the Pier, top level, you will never regret it. You will get a chef menu (also vegetarian) that is competing with the best Michelin in Europe and beyond. Highly recommended ! And the price compared to London and New York is absolutely an regular restaurant everywhere else!

Absolutely incredible experience at Pier for our first night in Cape Town for our honeymoon. Daud served us with class, humor, and education all rolled into one. The food was to die for, the presentation incredibly beautiful, and the vibe classy yet approachable. Would recommend 10/10 times!!

A cozy and elegant restaurant with a beautiful harbor view. The food was good and the service was truly excellent. I especially loved their traditional tequila , definitely a highlight of the evening.
