Pier Top - Review - Fort Lauderdale - Miami - The Infatuation

"This circular bar at the top of a historic hotel in Fort Lauderdale spins. Or, at least, the outermost part does. It makes one complete revolution in 66 minutes—about the speed of a sloth grasping for a branch—and we wholeheartedly enjoy the schtick. Unfortunately, there’s a chance, even with a reservation, that you might get seated in the static middle of the bar, with only a heartbreaking view of smiling, spinning people. So beg the host for a seat that spins, or just head straight to the bar, order a drink, and walk to the spinny part, where you can spend an hour enjoying a gorgeous panoramic view of Fort Lauderdale’s impressive canal system. The drinks are good, but expensive. And a DJ makes the shiny, metallic room feel a bit club-ish at night. Come around sunset if you want a more relaxed atmosphere." - Ryan Pfeffer

From the moment we arrived, Pier Top Lounge felt truly magical. The valet greeted us with grace and professionalism, and walking through the hotel’s aesthetic interior the décor, the scent in the air was enchanting. A gracious hostess welcomed us and escorted us via elevator, building the anticipation until we reached the iconic rotating rooftop lounge. Once we were seated, the magic unfolded: the lounge slowly revolves (a full rotation every 66 minutes), giving you sweeping 360° views of Fort Lauderdale’s skyline, waterways, and beyond. We toasted with Espresso Martinis that were exquisite rich, balanced, elegant. The ambiance was refined yet vibrant. The music complemented the experience perfectly. It felt like a hidden gem atmospheric, sophisticated, unforgettable. Pier Top is a rare treasure ideal for an elegant night out, a romantic evening, or a chic gathering with friends. Highly recommended for anyone who wants to experience Fort Lauderdale from a breathtaking vantage.

Awesome views at this revolving bar/restaurant. Great place to take in scenic views and listen to some cool music. They have a limited menu for food but some delicious options. Large selection of wines, specialty cocktails and more. Great service and cool vibes to hang out with friends.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Absolutely outstanding experience at Pier Top at Pier 66! From valet check-in with Kathy to the warm welcome upstairs, everything was first-class. Our server Sanaa was personable, attentive, and made the evening special, and Justin, the manager, genuinely cared about our satisfaction. Incredible cocktails, great DJ, and phenomenal oysters — especially the “Dirty Oysters” with caviar and gold flake. Elegant décor, rotating 360° views, and exceptional service — a must-visit in Fort Lauderdale!

A beautiful bar! Would be fun to take out of town guests. We didn’t reserve a table but got there right when it opened and stood at the cocktail tables in the center. Since it was early we were able to explore the perimeter and not bother anyone. The drinks were delicious. Next time I’d definitely do a reservation so we could sit and rotate and take in the view!

Google
Loved it… they do have a dress code and you must make a reservation. Went during off season and at 5:45 there was already a line at the host stand. They don’t allow sneakers for men, saw a lot of people upset by that. But if you want to dress up and go to a lounge in Fort Lauderdale, this is the place to come. It’s iconic. I found the pizza chips to be overpriced, but the rest of the food was good. Cocktails were fun. Overall the view and people watching was great. Bartenders weren’t overly friendly but they did check on us regularly. Definitely a great place to come for a drink.

We didn't eat here. They do have snacks, the oysters looked really good but I have never liked oysters and whiskey, which is what I was drinking. I had a few Woodford old fashioned, and my date had a mojito. The drinks were really good, definitely on the higher end, but you are paying for the ambiance. The staff was very pleasant. The doorr man downstairs asked if we had a reservation (we did not, if you want a table I would suggest it so you don't have to wait) we opted to go to stand at the bar. I honestly didn't think a reservation would be necessary, but if you want a good table where it spins, it's required on the weekend. The lobby was empty, so I wasn't expecting a crowd when we got up there, but it was quite lively. There was an outside section, a section that slowly spun, and the stationery bar and center tables. The spinning took a moment to adjust to when you were walking. There was popular music playing, but it was at a good level to hold a conversation yet drown out background noise. I will definitely go back.

The ambiance and the views is what I would give it a five-star for. Reminiscent of Skylon Tower or the Stratosphere. The 360° views were amazing. We went prior to our date just for some cocktails. The date wasn't until later so I wanted to eat a little bit. The menu was minimal in terms of food. We ordered the tuna tartare as well as some oysters. $10/microscopic oyster 🤯 The tuna tartar presentation was beautiful except where was the tuna 😅? The drinks were pricey, but were delicious. Overall it was worth the experience especially being rotated 360°. We do intend to return. Please have food next time, I would have preferred to have dinner here.

If I could give zero stars, I would. It was a terrible experience from start to finish. When I arrived, the host told me to wait while they cleaned my table. That was no problem. Then a couple came in after me and were seated right away, even though they were also a party of two. When I was finally taken to my table, it was dirty. The hostess apologized and wiped it down in front of me. For a place that calls itself high-end, this is unacceptable. I waited 15 minutes before a server acknowledged me while she greeted another table that sat after me. The food was awful, the dates and boa buns were garbage. I would've had better snacks at TGIF(are they still open?). The drinks were just okay. Honestly, they should fire everyone except the DJ. The music wasn’t great, but at least he did his job, which is more than I can say for the rest of the staff. The view is the only good thing here, but it’s not worth wasting your night or money. Go to Sparrow, 1WLO, Yolo, or even the Wharf instead. Or stay home. Skip Piertop altogether unless they start acting like a real high-end lounge.

Yelp
Recently enjoyed a lovely date night with my husband at the Pier Top. I have been enjoying this fabulous rooftop lounge for over 20 years and can definitely see the enhanced atmosphere with the recent renovations. I have also sponsored a conference for NSU at the property pre-renovations. The highlight of my evening was the "Smoke & Mirrors" cocktail! 5 stars absolutely delicious! I also tried "She's A Wild One" which was ok We ordered several food items; - raw oysters (very small in size) - lobster roll (slim serving of lobster for the bread - Beef Tartare (very fresh) - Pizza Chips (very nicely flavored, Chef should consider guacamole as opposed to ranch dressing) - Caviar Cones (micro/teeny tiny dessert needs to be slightly bigger) Overall, the vibes and energy was great especially if you love rooftop lounges that rotate while overlooking the beautiful intercoastal of Fort Lauderdale. I look forward to returning and ppl.

Yelp
The first time I was here, I was 8. Dad took the family to Florida for business. I had a Shirley Temple drink, sat with my family on the rotating area and took it all lin! Fast forward to me as a grown-up, living locally, and attending parties at the Pier Top. Then it was shutdown for a major renovation revealing a fresh look this summer with that classic mid century vibe that Fort Lauderdale is known for. Tufted velvet chairs and brass accents. It still rotates! There's also an observation deck outside with unmatched views of the city and the beach. On this visit (Sept 2025), we went on a Sunday around 3:30pm (they opened at 3) so it wasn't too busy. We did not have reservations but really only wanted to grab a drink and enjoy the view (I was playing tour guide with my guest). If you want to eat, and especially if there's several in your party, I would recommend reservations. They do have a menu for food, but note it is just tapas/apps, not for a full meal. The bar is incredible and service was top notch. Seasoned bartenders. We ordered and old fashioned and an espresso martini. Tips if you go- you can rideshare or valet, but if you want to self park, there's a city lot under the bridge (3-4 minute walk to the door of the hotel). It's called the E Clay Shaw parking lot. Enter Pier 66 from 17th Street and take the road closest to the bridge and you'll see the lot. You can use paybyphone and it was about $4 for an hour. If you're up for a stroll before or after you go up to the Top, take a walk along the marina. When you get to the hotel, walk through until you see the sign for Pier Top and you will be escorted to the dedicated elevator. The beauty awaits!

Yelp
Well the reasons for a 4 stars ... I heard so much hype about this spot that I guess I was expecting more! The lounge is located on the 17th floor of 17th floor of Pier Sixty -six. The attendant will call up the elevator and send you to the 17th floor. I heard by other guest that dress code is kinda strictly enforced. No shorts. Sadly we did not get the full effects of the 360 view. Website says reservations are suggested but I do recommend if you want the revolving view to make reservations. We had to sit at the bar. The waitress was super nice . I ordered my usual Pinot Grigio and gentleman friend a mojito! You can get views from every angle. City view. Water view and you can see as far the infamous Guitar building! We only ordered drinks since we ate prior to. They did offer some small bites that sounded appetizing. They accept payment via Apple Pay. We went on a Sunday afternoon at night it was beautiful! Oh you can get there by the Fort Lauderdale water taxi! That's how we travel. That's one of the water taxi stops. The place was very pretty and elegant! I would possibly go again maybe at night and definitely with reservations!

Yelp
There's not a ton to say about Pier Top, which is the rooftop bar at Pier 66, besides the fact that it's gorgeous. The views of the city are on another level. It's the kind of spot you hit for a special night out and a round of drinks. The drinks are overpriced, but the vibe makes it worth grabbing a cocktail and taking it all in.

Yelp
Continuing our staycation, my ladyfriend and I stopped at Pier 66 from our WaterTaxi ride to check out the remodeled, spinning roof rooftop restaurant. Four stars is not necessarily a bad thing, however, all we had were some drinks. The view itself, from the Atlantic Ocean to West Broward and her favorite resort which I won't name lol), is 5 star amazing! The ambience, the entrance of the resort itself is very nice and classy. Although they have a DJ turntable, there was no live music playing when we went in the afternoon other than jazzy beats. She enjoyed her usual Pinot Grigio and I had a Mojito. I suppose it could've been even sweeter though I did like that. It was prepared fresh with mint leaves and all. We did see outer floor move, the only part that spins is the edges of the bar. Therefore, I'm keeping this one in the placeholder column until we can come again and have a full experience.

Yelp
Located on the very top of Pier Sixty Six is PierTop. It has the best views of Fort Lauderdale you can find. It has changed a lot since the remodeling of Pier Sixty Six hotel. The fashionable dining is gone, replaced by a disco like environment with DJ's and up to date music, but no dancing. The drinks are good but the food is mostly little bite snacks. I had their Latin Burger with an Angus beef patty, tomato, lettuce, bacon, sautéed onions, Chihuahua cheese, and Chimichurri Aioli on a Brioche bun. However, the primary point for coming here is the magnificent view to be enjoyed while the floor rotates comfortably around every 66 minutes, and my reason for Five Yelp Stars.

Yelp
Saturday night. Music is bumping- good mix. Drinks-a-plenty. Slow moving floor allows for view change. Only thing that i do not like... is that, it's hot like I've been dancing, this is more loung-ie-dance type, with a nice terraza.. patio if u will. That said.. it's nice if u havn't tried it.

Yelp
Can I just start by saying Julian was over the top amazing. So nice to have someone who truly cares and looks you in the eye when they talk to you. It was our 42nd anniversary and the special treatment that we got last night was wonderful. Truly appreciate when we get that type of service since it doesn't happen very often in Fort Lauderdale. We are local and this was our first time up there since the Renovation. Used to spend a lot of time there growing up and for their amazing brunches that they used to have. Thank you for making the evening special. The oysters and the tuna tartare were delicious and we proceeded to go to Calusso where we had a beautiful dinner. Can't wait to go back. Definitely a place for a special occasion.

Yelp
Stopped by on a Saturday around 6 PM for some pre-dinner snacks and drinks, and it did not disappoint! The 360 views were just the cherry on top of a great experience. We tried the pizza chips and the floating tuna tartare - both were fantastic. That side of ranch with the pesto drizzle? Chef's kiss ‍ For drinks, we went with the Manhattan and Tears of a Mermaid - both were on point. Perfect spot for light bites, great cocktails, and stunning views. 10/10 recommend!

Yelp
Beautiful newly renovated Pier Top is definitely an awesome place to grab a drink and catch up with friends during the day and more so at night. The entire restaurant slowly rotates so you get a nice view of Fort Lauderdale beach and intercoastal. Fun fact: because it's Pier Sixty Six, a full circle is 66 minutes. Breathtaking views and snazzy decor aside, the staff is friendly and the DJ plays good jams. Unfortunately, the menu is very limited. Aside from drinks, the food menu only has a handful of items. On the Sunday we went, it was during the air show weekend and it was an even more limited menu of just oysters, caviar, tuna tartare, chilled veggies, cheese and almond board and bacon wrapped dates. My mom and I got the latter two items cause I can only eat cooked food for now. The cheeseboard was very pretty and had a great selection of cheeses - creamy, mild, and sharp. The yuzu marmalade was a great compliment and the salted marcona almonds tasted great too. The bacon wrapped dates stuffed with chorizo with red pepper sauce was amazing. The sweet and savory flavors were really good together. Hope they expand the food menu one day.

Yelp
Super cool spot with an amazing vibe and absolutely beautiful views of the city and water. It's the perfect place to grab a drink, relax, and enjoy the sunset or night lights definitely has that wow factor when it comes to atmosphere. Also the room spins while you're in there. The service was amazing as well. Only downside is the food menu is really limited, so don't come hungry. But if you're just looking for a chill place with great drinks and a killer view, this place is a solid choice.

Yelp
The views amazing but not the worth the prices for locals. Came here for some birthday drinks pre dinner and left with a tab that I'm still confused about. A group of 4 us ordered 8 drinks total, when we closed out the bartender (Mateo) gave me the bill without an itemized receipt. Red flag!!, because I had no idea if tip was included and it was over $300. Partially my fault as I'm no rookie, but acted like one on this occasion. Anyway this is just a warning to make sure you ask for your itemized tab or else you'll end up paying $50 a drink! Yes 5-0!! That was 4 champagnes, 2 Fletcha Tequilas and 2 glenlivets. The champagne poors weren't anything super high end, as you might ask. The $15 caliber one. The other drinks if they were $25 would have still not added up to over $300. You know places do this to tourists all the time, we weren't tourists. Would I recommend the place, no, not for locals! Or if you go GET an itemized receipt so you don't get tourist scammed.

Yelp
Our evening began at the perfect time of 6:30 pm, allowing us to enjoy the stunning sunset views before transitioning into the vibrant night scene. The ambiance was truly exceptional, as captured in our photos and videos. Our waitress, Aixa, provided outstanding service, making the experience even more enjoyable. The drinks were both delicious and creatively crafted, offering a wide variety of options to explore. Paired with the appetizers, the drinks made for a delightful culinary experience. We had an excellent time and are already looking forward to our next visit. If you find yourself in the Ft. Lauderdale area, this spot is a must-visit. Plus, the valet service is quite affordable compared to Miami and downtown Ft. Lauderdale, and we comfortably spent around five hours here and at another establishment at Pier Sixty-Six.

Yelp
We only came in for drinks, which were amazing! I love a revolving rooftop restaurant! Views were fantastic! Vibe was cool. Will be back for dinner!

Delia A.

Yelp
Amazing vibes. The view is gorgeous. And drinks were also delicious. Make reservations before going.

Yelp
Nice spot with a great view. We tried to make a reservation but there was nothing before 10:30pm so we got there early and just sat at the bar. The place was never fully packed and we always saw tables open so not sure about that. The drinks were good but pricey. Our bartender was friendly and attentive regardless of how busy he got. If you go based on menu it's 22-24 for their specialty drinks which I guess is the norm for most hotel spots but I ordered a Gin sour with Empress Gin and it cost me $28 a glass. I have a hard time justifying 2oz that cost the same as a bottle. The music changed depending on the time. There's a live dj and we got further into the night it definitely started to sound like a club. The crowd was incredibly eclectic and it did change as it got later. Your only option for parking is valet but that was reasonable and my car was waiting for me when I got to the front. Everyone we engaged with was super friendly. I think this is a great spot to bring people who are visiting or a stop on your way to or from dinner.

Yelp
Horrible service... don't waste your time coming here! Not worth the hype! Stunning views but service is slow, overpriced drinks, not worth it.

Yelp
Beautiful views! Top notch cocktails! Exquisite small plates! We have been awaiting the re-opening of this historic landmark -- the Iconic Pier Top Lounge. Built in the 60's the building's architecture is right out of the Jetson's and the luscious atomic age design from the mid-century. The Pier Top cocktail lounge finally reopened this past March 2025. Our visit proved to be well worth the wait! You enter through the spectacularly beautifully designed hotel lobby and are greeted by a host that checks your reservation and vibe (note- there is a dress code: no shorts, flip flops, etc. check it closely on their website or face being turned away) then escorts you to the elevator that will whisk you up to the penthouse level. The entry view to the lounge is breathtaking- gorgeous, sumptuous center bar and couch-y seating areas on the window sides. Very glamourous, yet comfy. The Pier Top Lounge makes one 360-degree revolution per hour. When we were seated, it was in its short pause and our seats were not by a window. We were wondering why we didn't rate a window. Haha! Once we started moving, we got it. The bar is in the center and the lounge seating gently revolves like a record player around it. You have your window views that are simply spectacular across the Atlantic Ocean, Port Everglades, the Intracoastal, downtown Fort Lauderdale, Hollywood's iconic Hard Rock casino and arena, and Miami on the horizon. The views are breathtaking. But, you also have a 360 view of the bar, which is beautiful - first you may be behind it, then at the side, then at front. How cool is that? There is a DJ playing perfect lounge grooves and we did not find the music loud - we could speak intimately with each other without yelling. The DJ was phenomenal. She made and kept the mood and totally understood the assignment. The music was mix of lounge, mellow house grooves. Just right. Our reservation was for 6:30 - an hour plus before sunset - so that we could experience the space and views in the bright sun, sunset, and night. Oh my goodness! The sunset was amazing! There is a small outdoor seating area - FYI - that space does NOT revolve. If you sit inside, you can step out to breath the air and feel like the king or queen of the world! The service was outstanding. Our server was welcoming, friendly, helpful (she offered to take pics of us standing outside) and a wonderful host. Going here, we had done our research and saw that the food is limited to small bites. We had taken a look at the cocktail menu and knew we were going to ....sample a few over the course of the evening so, we pre-gamed by having a good dinner before going. This would be my recommendation if you plan to hang and enjoy the space and the delicious drinks. I had a top notch gin martini and hubby had the best sazerac he's ever had - better than the ones we had in New Orleans. I moved to the negroni which was smooth and delightful. And he moved on to a smart manhattan. We also had a few of the small plates. First we had the "Got a hot date" which are medjool dates, chorizo, bacon in piquillo sauce. My husband loved these! The sauce reminded him of his dad who was from Hungary. The sauce was a creamy, red, peppery/paprika sauce that gave a mild kick that worked well with the sweet dates and savory bacon and chorizo. Next, we had four "Ol' Dirty Oysters" which were raw with creme fraiche, chive, and caviar. These were beautifully presented in a gold serving dish filled with ice with seaweed garnishing the ice. The oysters were exquisite with the small dollop of the creme fraiche and caviar and edible gold leaf. A beautiful, delicious oyster! Finally, we tried "Floating Tuna Tartare" which was bluefin tuna and kimchee on crystal bread (a crispy tuna delivery system that is sort of like a delicate fried air cracker) - delish! Now, this was not an inexpensive evening. But, we knew we wanted to make a night of it. If you go for a drink or two - hey, fine cocktails in a spectacularly beautiful spot will not come at an economy price. And, if you go for an evening like we did, expect to be seeing it as a treat that you deserve. After all, you only go around once. -- Except at Pier Top, when you can enjoy going around more than once and enjoying the ride, views, drinks, food, service and experience. You deserve it.

Yelp
This place is absolutely beautiful! Came by around sunset time and you can see the skyline of Fort Lauderdale ! The bar spins so smoothly , you don't even realize you've made your way around the whole bar. The dj played some light fun tunes. Drinks were great and their "Got a date" small bite was delicious! We had to order two!
google avatar

Jessica M.

Yelp
I was excited to try this spot for the view but was prepared for overpriced and underwhelming food because of location. I was COMPLETELY WRONG. From the kind gentleman on the bottom floor to the amazing food that we received! The drinks were perfect and balanced the beautiful views. However the show stopper was the food! We ordered the Medjool Dates w Chorizo and Piquillo Sauce, perfect start! Then moved on to the amazing tuna tartar and the short rib bao buns - I have been craving since I left! But maybe my favorite were the lobster rolls and the oysters Crème Fraîche with caviar! The lobster rolls were toasted perfectly with savory and sweet lobster while the oysters were a perfect balance of DAMN I want more! Kuddos to the team and the Chef!

Yelp
Drove all the way from Miami to have dinner and the kitchen closed at 9:15. I got there at 9:05 but nobody told me they close the kitchen at 9:15. I spoke with them twice nobody thought of mentioning to me the kitchen closes at 9:15. I specifically booked a dinner with them. I think there's a reason this place has 3.7 star rating as of today.
google avatar

Jason H.

Yelp
Beautiful renovation, nice staff, unbelievable views. Our drinks were nice (pricey but, duh..). Food needs work (well, the two items we ordered), we had the cheese plate and veg dish. The veg dish was a bowl of crushed ice and romaine sprigs sticking up. Not sure what that was all about. Cheese selection was decent (think business class cheese dish). Music got oddly louder at 9 pm (night clubby), we couldn't really continue our conversations, which was a bummer. Maybe they should move that to 10 pm. Had a great time!
google avatar

Chauncey S.

Yelp
The music was very loud and it felt as if I was at LIV nite club! We were told we could have a table until 9:30 which was fine since we had dinner at Caluso earlier. The place was empty as we left, no one was clamoring to get in and it was void of any ambience. The saving grace was the view. The PierTop at one time was a place to have a first date, get engaged or celebrate a special occasion. Not anymore. If you are looking for something special rooftops are not the answer. Music sets the mood and when you cannot hear yourself think it's time to escape. Dinner is not offered only bites to nosh on. I am debating as to go back at an earlier time and see if the setting is better. Music should be relaxing early in the evening especially if you want to stop for a cocktail after a long day of work. Debating if I want to try this again!
google avatar

Elle H.

Yelp
Great Pre/Post dinner spot. Good drinks & even better vibes and views. Service was a little slow as the bar was backed up but we still had a nice time. My only recommendation would be to make sure you have dinner plans or have already eaten before arriving. Although they have small bites, it's not intended to fill you up. The bites mainly compliments the drinks. There is also a DJ.
google avatar

Anthony V.

Yelp
The pros: small plates arrangements are awesome, the atmosphere is amazing with incredible views of the entire city, intracoastal, and ocean. The drinks are also top notch and the service from the entrance and overall is great. The cons: Our waitress was more concerned about conversing and serving another table that came in after us that she greeted with hugs making it clear that she knew them which is fine but it caused my wife & I to constantly wait to get her attention on top of her serving our drinks far away from our reach for some weird reason. Also the supposed strict dress code was lax as they allowed a few people in with shorts and jeans. Price is a little excessive for what you get, high end place for sure but a little over the top for standard bar drinks. Over all it's a must if you've never been.

Jaclyn P.

Yelp
As a true Florida resident who lives in miami I was excited to try something new. My cousin who is from out of town came and got a table for us. My friend wasn't allowed in her outfit but then I saw multiple men go in shorts and two with baseball caps. Why did they discriminate against women. This is insane. Angel at the front was nice but this rule is insane. I've never in my life been turned away from anywhere in miami. Change your policy.

Bob D.

Yelp
Great food, great ambience and great service four star operation. from the valleys that park through the weight service excellent location wonderful for date night

Yelp
The Pier Top is an excellent way to start your weekend with a flare! The views are unmatched in Ft L with the rotating bar, you see it all! Excellent service, cocktails and food.

Yelp
Just a nice view went for our anniversary was not good. Drinks were super juicy watered down. We weee told no regular tequila other than Mezcal. Table and bathroom weren't clean. Debating to cancel for my fiancé bday this week. We spent $120 for nothing worth it unfortunately !

Jon C.

Yelp
It's all about the views. And the DJ. And the martinis. And the people watching! Short on menu (half a dozen snacks), tall on drinks, it's a fun night out.
google avatar

S K.

Yelp
Had a reservation for 3 weeks. This was an anniversary celebration and we and three other parties were turned away for misunderstanding the dress code- casual coastal. Which apparently signifies men can't wear shorts. Even if they have nice shoes and a collared shirt. So yes they turned away a fat check because we were prepared to have a 1k tab. We were looking forward to the caviar oysters and now I cant. give a potentially phenomenal review. It just went and got poo pooed because of the pretentiousness of the staff. They didn't even apologize. They just referred us "peasants" to go to the pool bar.

Dominic V.

Yelp
What a great experience! We went for after dinner drinks and a snack. Decided with the oysters and gin cocktails which were both delicious. Would definitely like to go again and get a seat by the window for the lovely views

Connor A.

Yelp
Very subpar interactions from the get-go. Showed up as a surprise for a birthday from a day out in the sun and showed up in button ups and one guest had on (golf)/clean dress shorts. Were denied entry from the start at valet as well as waited on hold for over 20 minutes to discuss with a manager with no answer. Will NOT be returning. It's south Florida - the epitome of disappointing customer service
