While traveling west through Ohio, we stopped here for dinner. Everything we ordered was amazing, and I greatly appreciated was being able to be sat without reservations. Next time I come, I’ll be sure to reserve ahead of time so we can experience the restaurant a little more. The live piano music added a special touch, that made wish we had more time to spend there.

One of our favorite places. Used to live on Edgewater, so my parents brought us here when we were kids. We recently came for the Happy Hour experience at the bar, had the best buttery Lobster Bisque, cold crisp Caesar salad and shrimp cocktail. The view is par none, service and atmosphere were exceptional. We highly recommend!🥂🎶

You have to make reservations weeks ahead of time. I’ve been try to reserve a table for two years and they never had a table available for the dates I requested. I finally reserved early enough to get in and it was well worth the wait. Our server Teri was good and the table we had was a beautiful view of the water. We celebrated my husband’s birthday and we will definitely be back again, but will reserve early to get a table.

The atmosphere and views are outstanding. Our waitress, Cora, was amazing! The food was ok. I had the salmon and it wasn’t anything special. My favorite part of that meal was the beans. The calamari was outstanding! It was our anniversary and they served us a desert which was quite nice.

A nice place with delicious food! The service was also top-notch. The only disappointment was that the dessert we chose wasn’t available. And they should work on their coffee — maybe choose a different one, because for a restaurant of this level, the coffee just doesn’t match the quality.

The best brunch ever. Everything was perfect—the view, the service, the food. I casually mentioned to our server (Cora J... she was fantastic) that my birthday was coming up next week, and she surprised me with a special brownie and a candle. The piano player set the vibe, playing all the best songs. Just an all-around amazing experience.

We came back to Pier W for the first time in a few years, but I didn't remember the food being this amazing last time time! Sunset views of the lake plus great food and you can't go wrong. Everything felt fresh, the seafood plates we had were delicious, and our waiter was so friendly and kind. We love it here!

Very nice experience besides there was really no waiting area. The waiter was friendly and fast. Lobster pasta was delicious, the clam appetizer was pretty good. And my drink was perfect. Definitely will return. We had reservations first so we got to sit in the very front in the middle with a view of the water. Mother’s Day was beautiful I really enjoyed myself

After spending a marvelous afternoon at "The Cleveland Museum of Art" we traveled a few minutes west to beautiful Lakewood, Ohio for dinner at "Pier W". This wonderful seafood establishment has been a landmark on the Gold Coast lakefront for 60 years. And hopefully it will remain for another 60. The restaurant was designed to resemble the prow of a ship extending out into Lake Erie. The interior is really quite marvelous. Completely surrounded by floor to ceiling glass you have a 270 degree view of the lake, including a wonderful view of the downtown Cleveland skyline. During nice weather there is additional seating on the roof of the building which forms a large deck and sports even more wonderful views in every direction. We arrived this evening and were quickly greeted by a very nice gentleman who checked our reservation and immediately had us seated at a wonderful table that overlooked the entire establishment, and provided a view out of every window... Cleveland was particularly beautiful this evening. During our evening we enjoyed the sounds of live piano and the gentle murmur of people enjoying conversation. At no time was there any excessive noise. Very soon after being seated we were greeted by our server Georgia. She was a very pleasant and efficient woman that did a great job for us throughout our meal. After ordering drinks and reviewing the evening's menu we placed our orders. Quickly thereafter our meal began to arrive. My wife started with "Lobster Bisque" and followed that with the "Rockfish Picata". Both were excellent. I enjoyed "Pier W's Famous Bouillabaisse" with Saffron Seafood Broth, Mediterranean Bass, Pacific Snapper, Lake Erie Walleye, Lobster Tail, Mussels, Fennel, Toasted Crostini, Saffron Aioli. It was everything I could have hoped for... simply marvelous. After dinner we enjoyed a good cup of coffee and shared the Devil's Food Cake. If you are looking for a wonderful evening of fine dining and especially if you enjoy great seafood, "Pier W" definitely belongs on your list. It remains on mine and we are looking forward to our next visit.

The food was expensive but phenomenal. ( I'm an accountant so I count every penny ) Our server was friendly and chatted up my husband as they are both musicians. Dim lighting and a piano player made for a lovely evening.

Pier W really hit the mark with attentive staff (valet, hostess, server, bussers, etc.). We were lucky enough to have Teri as our server and her kindness as well as knowledge of the menu were phenomenal. For an appetizer, we had the beef short rib pierogies and they were okay, while the clam chowder was silky and delectable. The presentation of the bouillabaisse was impressive, the flavors were on point and the only issue was that a couple of the mussels were gritty. We liked the flavors of the pacific rockfish marsala, but the trumpet mushrooms were tough/stringy to cut through and we prefer our gnocchi to be pan fried a bit for texture, which is definitely needed in an entree comprised of soft fish and shiitake & cremini mushrooms.

We went here for a birthday dinner and will definitely be back. Even on a rainy day the views of the lake and city from the dining room are stunning and the food and cocktails were worth a revisit. We split the mussels, lobster cream pasta, and famous bouillabaisse. The mussels and pasta we would get again, the bouillabaisse was worth trying for the spectacle and trying a few different seafoods, just not our favorite.

Amazing food and service ! The swordfish salad is to die for ! My kids both enjoyed their meals as well and the beautiful fish tank when you walk in ! & you can not beat the view !

This place is highly recommended for its view and brunch. We decided to check out the brunch yesterday. There is ample parking upfront so that's great. We were seated immediately (pro tip don't make a 2pm reservation if you are coming in for the brunch--get an earlier one). We were seated at the end table near the entrance but still have a semi decent view of the lake. The food items are predominately seafood. I really enjoyed the salmon in dill sauce. The salads although plentiful are not all that flavorful (pasta salad was bland). The buckeye dessert was my favorite.

We dined here July 3rd and were lucky to get in due to a cancellation. Celebrating our wedding anniversary and got the best view in the entire restaurant! The wine was amazing and came recommended from the GM/Sommelier off the reserve list as we were looking for something more up scale to celebrate. The black sticky rice and scallops with the grilled leeks were absolutely delicious. Cooked to perfection and minimally/simply seasoned but truly wonderful. My husband loved his steak and substituted the garlic mashed potatoes because those are his favorite. We loved the chocolate peanut butter cake which was truly decadent and perfect to end our meal. Definitely would go back for the views, the service (emery and bill were amazing!) and another meal. Thank you for having us!!

My boyfriend and I celebrated out anniversary dinner and came during Restaurant week! I ordered the mussel for the appetizer, crab stuffed shrimp as my main and the peanut butter torte for my dessert! The amount of mussels you get was pretty good, and the bread was nice to have to soak up the sauce! I wish the sauce was a bit more flavorful, more garlicky, but overall it was good. The crab stuffed shrimp was good. The shrimp was snappy, the crab was good and it was over mashed potatoes and some green beans. The peanut butter torte was my favorite! It was super rich, had a nice peanut butter and chocolate taste and a surprise with some coconut! The crust part seemed (to me) made of oatmeal but my boyfriend thought otherwise haha. Overall service was amazing, we were seated right along the glass window and got a really pretty view!

Decided to make a last minute reservation on a Saturday evening at 8:30pm, and had no problem finding a table! We were seated promptly and had a very attentive and friendly server who explained both the drink and dinner menus exceptionally well! I ordered the braised short rib pierogis for an appetizer and they were divine! I also ordered halibut dinner special, and my partner ordered the lobster pasta. Both arrived quickly, were hot, and full of some amazing flavors I never imagined would pair so well together! Overall, we had a romantic evening & will certainly be back. For a quick perspective: 2 cocktails, an appetizer and 2 entrees came to $152. Certainly on the pricy side, but well worth it! Valet was also available for $4, we didn't use it but will share its nice to have as an option!

We decided to dine here for Thanksgiving 2025 - they had a pre fixe menu for a Thanksgiving meal or also select entrees on the menu as well - we both had the Thanksgiving meal - meh - for 60 dollars per person it seemed to be priced right but we overall were underwhelmed with most of it - we both opted for the butternut squash bisque vs the salad offered and that was quite tasty - then the plated meal came out - the garlic mashed potatoes seemed like they were instant mashed w/out much flavor at all - the stuffing was so over-seasoned it was nearly inedible - we did not get the cranberry compote promised in the description of the meal - the autumn veggie mix was tasty but overcooked and mushy - the cinnamon glazed yams were the star of the plate - you would think the turkey would be right? .. nope .. for 60 dollars per person I was expecting nice slices of white meat breast turkey with gravy - what a shock - what we got was turkey that was mostly dark meat with rubber skin on it that was nearly shredded or in very small chunks - the crust on the pumpkin pie was nearly raw at the bottom but the filling of the pie was good as was the whipped cream - the waitress packed up what we did not eat and we had mentioned we did not get our cranberry compote when she checked on us as we ate and that was also in the to go bag - but all of it went into the trash when we got home - what a shame and what a surprise that the place with the absolute best Sunday brunch in town served us what ended up being garbage for our Thanksgiving meal

It's been a couple years since we have enjoyed THE PIER W, but Man oh man, are we glad and happy to be back! Whatever you do, sit in the section of beautiful "Q", for Quianna. She is honest, fun, energetic and... wait for it... Genuine. Genuine. All day long. She knows the menu, appreciates your interest in her opinion and aims to please, which she does with 5 stars! The food is still outstanding and for the price, exemplary! We both enjoyed the huge Ceasar salad, bountiful Clam Chowder served hot and shrimp and green bean tempura! What's not to love ? Make this your next best place for seafood and cocktails !

Absolutely amazing place. Great food, service and ambiance. They also have a very high end bourbon selection. If I may make one suggestion. Bourbon served neat, especially high end bourbon, should always be served in a glencairn, not a rocks glass. Thank you for a great evening.

How have I lived here my whole life without treating myself to dinner at Pier W??? Fabulous views of downtown Cleveland and Lake Erie, plus scrumptious food. We were fortunate to have Cora as our server. If there was ever a person who could make a living as a storyteller, it's her. She was so enthusiastic about the drinks, food choices - it was a delight just to be in her presence. The short ribs were delicious and so tender, no knife required.

Amazing experience! Bisque was great, the mushroom fish dish with gnocchi was fantastic, and the wine and dessert was the cherry on top. Waitress was wonderful. Crab cakes are full of crab and not filled with other grains ect. Scallops were definitely worth the add. Will be back soon!

This is probably the best thing to experience in Cleveland! We had drinks on the patio of this epic restaurant and patio and the tower is gorgeous inside and out! There is an amazing view of downtown Cleveland and all I can say is wow. People were enjoying cigars and relaxing on the patio and they had music and bartenders making drinks - it was like a resort kinda felt like I was back in Mexico at a beach resort. The food is amazing and staff are amazing and knowledgeable. This is top 3 for sure! Best places to visit in Cleveland!

I dine at Pier W once in every couple of years and it's always a really good experience. The only downside I would say is the interior needs a renovation. The staff is always very friendly and helpful. Timing and food preparation is always top notch. Pier W has some of the best seafood in the city and you won't go away disappointed. Try out their Short Rib pierogies and lobster bisque as they are some of the best appetizers you may ever taste.

The first time we enjoyed Pier W was a lunch visit. Last night we went for a graduation dinner. This is a great restaurant in every way! Leo assisted us in being seated at a beautiful view table. Our server was Q and she gave us superb service. The extensive menu offers so many great choices. Our party of six ordered six different entrees and each was wonderful. Dessert was excellent. This is a beautiful experience, but be sure to make reservations!

My wife and I went to the Sunday buffet. The food and service were excellent. The employees were very considerate. However, I do have one complaint about the size of the plates. They were very small, which made it very difficult to eat off of. At the time, I did not think about it, but I should've taken two plates so that I had one to put oyster and muscle shells on.

Beautiful location w great view of the water in better weather. Server took care of our big group with ease. Small but decent cocktail menu. My drink was very sweet and unsure if it was alcoholic at all really but it's fine. The rare steak Diane I had was cooked to my liking and flavorful. The potatoes were perfectly roasted and some had a nice crispy char which I love. Bread service was the usual crusty rolls with regular butter. The lobster bisque was phenomenal! Super savory and super thick and smooth. Nice creamy highly flavorful soup with a little chunk of lobster on top along with a crostini. Live piano music was playing.

Great date night for a special occasion. My boyfriend and I booked a reservation here for his birthday. We had to wait a little bit past our reservation time (10 minutes) to be seated, but we think it was so that we could be seated along the window, so we didn't mind waiting. The view was gorgeous and overlooks the city in the distance. We ordered the oysters, a steak, and the grouper (which was on special). Everything was delicious.

We reserved a table to celebrate Mother's Day. We got seated in one of the best spots - corner right next to the window overlooking the lake. Wonderful view and great service. Even though it was a Monday night, every table was full. We started off with drinks. We received our complimentary bread rolls and butter. The rolls were warm. We then had the beef short rib pierogies. These were stuffed with meat and no potatoes. The Ouster Rocketfeller was good. Can never go wrong with melty gooey cheese. This went really well with the bread rolls. Pier W's Famous Bouillabaisse. This is a good tomato and seafood soup with bread. It came in a large bowl with a lid. This was well balanced so that it wasn't too heavy of an entree. Pacific rockfish Marcella. This was also well balanced so that it wasn't too heavy either. This dish did taste a little salty, but that might be that I prefer less salt (though nothing else was too salty). Special - King Salmon with pest risotto. Their menu changes periodically. All the food and drinks were good, but nothing stood out. What sets this apart (aka what you're paying for) is the view and service.

Lovely dinner! Came on a Wednesday and it was very busy, but luckily we had a reservation. Pianist playing the entire time. Beautiful view of the lake and downtown. Fantastic wine list. Lots of N/A options including zero proof liquors that can be used to make cocktails and N/A wines. To start they bring out complimentary bread. We ordered the short rib pierogies which had lots of filling and the calamari that was so light and delicious. My entree was the Bouillabaisse and it was very flavorful. Perfect place for date night or special occasions

It was our first time for dinner at pier w. We did have a gift card which enticed us to go. The service was ok and the food was honestly mid. My lobster tail was def sitting in a warmer in the kitchen as it was tough and lacked any flavor when it arrived. My filet was fine (nothing special) and my husband's dinner he said was ok. My husband found a bone in his fish. Which was explained as "we get 98 percent of the bones". They did give us an anniversary dessert which was red cake however it that was so dense we each took one bite and pushed it aside. Felt like it was not that fresh pretty stale. All in all we went with a gift card which knocked money off our bill but tbh we won't be back anytime soon.

Delightful view of the Lake and downtown. Good selection and delightful food. Good drink selection...you don't find Tokay wine or 40 year old port many places. Really super staff. Good place to enjoy your food and the people you are with. Parking can be tight though.

We just went to the Sunday Brunch Buffet at Pier W. All reviews stated we were in for a wonderful time. The word brunch breaks into Breakfast and Lunch. I found bacon, sausage links, blitzes, pre-made eggs benedict, some fruit & pastries. The rest of their offerings were salads, random choices of poorly prepared beef, and some seafood dishes. The beef carving station had medium-cooked beef. The desserts were delicious. All in all, we were extremely disappointed. Our Server was great. The live piano was terrific. The food was extremely disappointing.

Go here for the view but plan to enjoy the seafood (we especially liked their shrimp cocktail and clam chowder) and a cocktail or two. This place has been in business a for over 40 years. My husband used to come here as a kid, and we just went back, and it did not disappoint!

We were seated at a table with a beautiful view of the lake and the city skyline - so nice! We had the filet and fluke (flounder) and everything was delicious. I think our server's name was Melanie and she was very friendly and knowledgeable. We love this place for special occasions or just their happy hour! Such a wonderful place!

My husband took me here the day I accepted his proposal. It's a beautiful place on the water with a terrific view. My husband got the special of the day which was halibut with tomatoes and tortellini on top of Alfredo, I got Pier W bouillabaisse. The food is fresh and delicious. I do recommend

We arrived sat night for a birthday celebration with a party of 6 for 7 pm reservation, and low & behold we made a mistake in the date & it was booked for sunday night:( The staff, was so nice, especially Joe, was so kind enough to squeeze us in a table with primo seating! The food was amazing, my twin daughters had the oysters, they said they were out of this world! They split the lobster pasta, which was amazing! Hubby & I split the halibut special so tasty! Other guest were so pleased as well! Highly recommend this place! Top notch service & food excellent! Thank you for making my daughter's birthday dinner so memorable!

Overall food was pretty good. We got the salmon and the lobster pasta, along with the shrimp cocktail and calamari. The appetizers were good, shrimp tasted fresh, the breading kept falling off the calamari though. The salmon had quite a few super salty bites but the lobster pasta was delicious, super buttery. Dessert was delicious, preferred the butter cake over the banana cheesecake. Severs were very attentive and kind. Despite the constant "pardon my reach" while refilling waters, etc. the consistent "reaching" did get a tad annoying.. The views are quite nice, the restaurant sits off like a little cliff that overlooks the lake.

We had a wonderful dinner at Pier W, on July 1, 2025. Chole was our waitress, and she made our 49th wedding anniversary very special. The view was spectacular and the food fantastic. It was overall a delightful evening. Mary Kay

The food here was very delicious. I really enjoyed the lobster bisque and the braised short rib. The service was also fabulous. Our waiter wanted to make sure we had a great experience. Also, very pretty place that overlooks the water - great ambiance with a live piano player.

The ambiance was great i was celebrating my wedding anniversary so i was looking for a great place to take my wife that we hadn't visited before. Well the atmosphere was nice had live pianist playing and a great view of Lake Erie. The food and service was great also. Overall we had a wonderful time its a bit pricey but after 29 yrs. I got her

Dinner was great. View was phenomenal. We had a server (R) who wouldn't stop hard selling food, drinks and desserts despite our repeated verbal declines. It made us uncomfortable and the experience awkward. Pier W, do not hard sell your patrons over and over again.

Love love love the lobster bisque. Amazing wine list! I always get the cedar plank salmon (I've been here maybe 3 times). Got a gf chocolate dessert to go once - so good!!! :) My husband got a smoked rice ahi tuna dish the first time he went here -- do NOT recommend; the smoky flavor in the rice was not good at all; it was way too much and fake tasting. If you don't order this, everything else on the menu is fair game :)

Fantastic location. Just next to the lake. Nice seating and overall ambiance. Food is good; slightly pricey for what you get. Sadly the service is not up to the aspired level. Staff not well informed about what is on the plate. Subsequent courses are not timed leading to overlaps or reheating dishes. Despite initial confirmation modern means of paying like mobile phone payments are not supported.

A solid Cleveland classic! Great views and tasty food make this spot a timeless dinner destination. We enjoyed the lobster tails and short rib entrees.

My fiance and I went to Pier W to celebrate our anniversary and it was the best experience, the view was great, our waitress was exceptional, she provided recommendations and was super personable and fun! They provided complimentary champagne and an appetizer as well as a very cute anniversary dessert. The food was delicious!! We had the pierogi, Caesar salad and the Delmonico steak with whipped potatoes.

Enjoyed restaurant week at Pier W. The crab stuffed shrimp and mash potatoes were delicious and the desserts were amazing. The service was swift and helpful and ambiance is unmatched with views of lake erie.

Oh my gracious!!! We have eaten here several times when we visit Cleveland. This is the first time we have gotten turned away for not having a reservation, BUT we were asked to please sit in the bar area and have a drink and dinner. I think we may have actually preferred sitting in the bar. Our waiter was so sweet and helpful. I will say the side dishes leave quite a bit to desire. They were not good at all. My husband got the Walleye and it was delicious but the side dishes were awful. They would be better served by simply serving traditional "chips" with it. I however had the lobster bisque and the crab cakes which were both appetizers and I was so impressed. I always get the bisque when I go here. It is honestly the best I have ever eaten. This is always a must stop for us in Cleveland and sitting in the bar area is a fun experience. Lots of lights and things going on.

Chloe was our server and she was absolutely amazing! Very kind and attentive. We ordered the oysters which were very good and I had the crab cakes. I Wasn't expecting the sweetness to the crab cakes but it was better with lemon. Everyone else had a filet and the wild fish/lobster tail. We have no complaints at all. This place was great.

Walleye was overcooked and cold. Sablefish was somewhat burnt and cold. When you're charging almost $40 for a plate of seafood, there's no excuse for it not to be perfectly cooked and hot. Will not return. Service was spot on and knowledgeable. Beautiful view of the city and lake but I can get that for free at Lakeside Park.

Yes please!!!!! Service, excellent. Restaurant, gorgeous. Get pictures after from the pier. And then the best part, the food!!! If you're willing to open up the wallet, it is definitely a great dinner!!!

Love this place. Definitely a staple restaurant. Great for happy hour, date night, or friends night out. Oysters always fire, good drink selection and all around good menu. Not to mention, right on our beautiful Lake Erie! Whats not to love?!

I've to Pier W numerous times and have never been disappointed. The service is excellent and at my last visit I had the 7 oz filet and it was perfect. When it's light enough outside to see the lake it's wonderful! Visit Pier W for steak or seafood and you'll be happy you did.

Second time I've come here and the second time something has happened where they discontinued seating. We waited 45 minutes after our reservation time to be told they were no longer seating customers. The first time we came, they lost water and had to close. Now they lost power. Inconsistent business
