The Best Restaurants and Bars in Verdun | Eater Montreal

"Pierrette is one of Verdun’s go-to Québécois greasy spoons. It’s known for its poutine, but it’s worth considering other Quebec favourites like the Michigan (a hot dog with a meaty sauce) or even a classic burger or sub." - Eater Staff

Google
It was pretty decent, but it wasn't quite what I was looking for. I am looking for a thick, crispy fry, and something different with the gravy, not sure what exactly. Maybe a richer flavor and thicker texture? I wouldn't be disappointed if I was served this poutine again, but I will continue to try other places instead.

MAS ICE

Google
It’s a good old school diner ( casse croûte) at first the service seems a bit cold but once u break the ice and start talking to the 2 gentleman working there it feels a bit warmer. The food is good . The steamed hot dog is excellent and the pizza was on point.the Italian poutine was ok to be honest. I saw some people having subs and they looked really good and I will definitely return for that and try some other foods on the menu.

Pierrette Patates is not so much a place as it's an experience. The fry cooks behind the counters are good natured wizards who deliver top notch food from a great Canadian "Shack a patates" menu. Their shredded chicken poutine is one of the best I've had in town and that's what I always order when I visit. Don't get me wrong, the place hasn't been renovated since before the Habs won their last Stanley Cup, but that's not why you go there. At least you don't have to pay for a fresh coat of paint. You get good fast food from the friendliest staff in Verdun and you get it for a very decent price.

This place has been around for decades! Low-cost greasy spoon. Menu signage remains unchanged. Too bad the table jukeboxes were removed.

Make sure you bring some cash! The hotdog was only $1.50 and around $6 for the combo (hot dog, fries, drink). The fries were hot and fresh! Very retro vibes; I loved it!

If you want the old school corner fast food joint experience, this is it. Tiny - 3 booths and 5 stools - and a decor that hasn't changed in decades. Prices are really decent. Steamies are 1.50$, a big poutine is about 10 bucks. Cash only. My order was ready pretty quickly. I tried the regular poutine, the Italian poutine and the steamies. The hotdog was perfect, the poutines were okay but not my favorite in Verdun. The potatoes had a grainy texture, the Italian gravy was too watery. But the value is good, and Verdun wouldn't be Verdun without places like this.

Poutine is average. Prices are good. Cash only is a negative. Who handles cash during COVID-19? Hot-Dog coleslaw was kind of dry. Average all around.

Yelp
Good food at decent prices. Served fast and always with a smile. One thing, the place is cash only. No credit cards or debit carts accepted.

Yelp
After our second order I noticed that the food wasn't great at all. Meat was weird, pita wasn't tastey the fries and everything were made with no love. Didn't even end up eating my wrap it tasted so awful. Not a fan anymore Update ! I didn't even want to eat from here again but my friend ordered. Wasn't good, we were both sick and were over charged. No Bueno.

Yelp
3.5 stars Small little joint for hot dogs and poutine. Great fast service from the staff. The poutine was hot big and fresh, i did wish the fried would he a little bit crispier and i don't usually eat salt, but i find found the poutine missing a bit of it. I would return aif i am in the hood

Yelp
Ordered specifically for their souvlaki pitas and was not disappointed! For just $12 we got two chicken souvlaki pitas and fries and they were delicious! We through in a poutine on the side, which was also really good. Service was nice and very fast. Great neighborhood resto!

Yelp
Amazing poutine, the club is excellent, the burgers are just juicy and amazing, Subs and pizza are good, but poutine is where this place really shines, classic Quebec restaurant, they sell paper bags of fries and steamies its another great reason to come back for more, some of the workers began to know my usual orders after sometime. This place can be busy at times so don't expect speedy service this ain't McDonald's, I'd take this over le belle province anyday, show pierette patates some love, the poutine whether regular or Italian is some of the finest I've ever had

Yelp
Howdy! Some restaurants are destination restaurants, others are worthwhile eating at if you're in the neighborhood. After having a Michigo with onions (a pogo covered with Michigan sauce and onions) I am seriously contemplating moving to Verdun so that I do not have to hike across God's half acre in order to eat there. It is is better than a destination restaurant, I wish it was my kitchen.

Yelp
Great bang for the buck. Poutine was nice and crispy and lots of cheese, definitely recommend.

Yelp
Well I just had my first poutine from here. I was hoping that this was going to be my new spot after moving to Verdun, it won't be. The poutine sauce was terrible. I feel like I just ate a stick of butter. So disappointed. Only saving grace were the steamies but I'm not eating their poutine ever again. I can't get the butter ( maybe margarine) taste out of my mouth.

Yelp
From the fries, subs and clubs, Pierrette simply cannot be beat. I've had so many guests come over and have their minds blown by Pierrette's subs. What would be a dry mess with terrible house sauce in some to the establishment is instead a glorious crisp and soft bread with tons of toppings and the most amazing house sub sauce I've ever had. The club sandwich, made with actual brrast meat (not some deli cut BS) is amongst the best I've had and it's a deal that can be beat, served with a mountain side of Pierrette's scrumptious fries. The pizza is the best Ive found in Verdun so far and the dogs and burgers are mighty good too. I've yet to try a few other key items on their menu: souvlaki and gyros. But I've also heard great thing about their pizza dough garlic sticks. I look forward to trying those. This place has been around for over 25 years, I feel I've missed out only finding it in the last 6 months. Pierrette's will be a constant goto for all the time I'll spend in verdun and will be well worth the detour when o go elsewhere. 1 small knock against it though. It's cash only. Please pierrette people get the gear you need for us fans old and new to enjoy you even more often!
