"Stunning white sands and clear, aquamarine waters aren't the only showstoppers in the Exumas, a chain of islands in the Bahamas. On uninhabited Big Major Cay, a colony of pigs (and adorable piglets!) takes center stage. The beach has become a tourist attraction because who doesn't want to take a photo swimming with pigs? You can't stay here overnight, but many nearby islands offer excursions, including nearby Staniel Cay." - Travel + Leisure Editors

Was a great experience. A little expensive but we considered it a bucket list experience. If you wanna hold a piglet it was an extra 5$.

Memorable. Don’t need to feed them but they are a strong and cute family.

Please help the pigs on “little pig island” across from Elvis’s restaurant. If you place animals in a foreign location that forces them to rely on people to bring them food and water everyday, you should at least ensure they’re being provided adequate means of survival and also shade from the sun! It was really tragic to witness the conditions the pigs are living in with no shade causing their skin to become sunburned and peeling off. In a normal environment they would roll in mud to protect their skin. The piglets looked very unhealthy and starving. I understand they bring tourism and revenue, but it’s your responsibility to take proper care of them. I tried contacting the Humane Society to see if they had recommendations and if I could pay for a vet to go out, but unfortunately there isn’t one on the island and they only come from Nassau every 1-2 weeks. I’m so worried the little black piglet is already dead😢

Was excited to go see the pigs on the beach, but after doing some research, I realized that it's really non ethical... they're not native from there, struggle to feed themselves, so rely on whatever tourist bring them. Hard for them to find water to drink. Suffer from the sun since they have no shelter or mud to use as sunscreen... People make money from them but do nothing to protect them which is really sad...

This was so much fun and my daughter's favorite part of the trip. The pigs come right up to you. This was a great excursion to take. You get to swim and feed the pigs for about an hour and then hangout and party on a private island for a few hours.

Swimming with pigs was not for me. After anchoring at Big Majors and watching the pig poop float by our boat on numerous days, watching the pigs aggressively approach everyone that stepped foot on the beach (and bite many), and try to climb in our dinghy looking for handouts, I don’t see the point. Yes, the babies are cute. Go to a farm and see these barnyard animals if you must. They are a non-native species in the Bahamas and left to their own devices, as they are, they damage the environment.

We had an amazing time at Pig Beach. We were on a cruise with Norwegian and they brought us over to an island for the day. We spent the day relaxing, swimming, Paddle boarding, and eating the absolute BEST FOOD we have ever had. We don't even know what it was! They scheduled us in the later boat over to the Big Beach and we had a great time. They went over the rules so we would be safe, handed out chicken hotdogs for feeding the pigs, and we were off! 10/10 experience.

Great place! Lots of fun with the pigs and the take carers actually look after them. Feed them only from the boat, in ground they will run after you. You will find some big ones and if you’re lucky also some babies.
