Portland New Restaurant, Bar, and Food Cart Openings, August 2024 | Eater Portland

"I note that Pig Patas Express is a Chillango-style Mexican food cart from Pig Patas operating at the Heist Bar and Food Carts, serving items such as enchiladas, burritos, norteño tacos, and tortitas on ciabatta." - Rebecca Roland

I only tried one small plate from this food truck! The al pastor was a bit disappointing, but the concept of a small Torta is fantastic, the ingredients were fresh but the flavor on the Al pastor lacked. I'll definitely be back to explore the menu more.

3rd time. All 3 times the food was sub par at best. Street tacos are nearly impossible to mess up but they were dry, barely any toppings, and cold at the window. Portland burrito was tiny, had nearly no meat, and was covered in beans and rice on the outside of the tortilla. And the shrimp and steak taco… holy man. Steak was nonexistent, burrito was tiny and all beans and MAYONNAISE, and two of my shrimp had tails on them still… I hate that this place isn’t good. Such a missed opportunity. I really hope they get some quality control in there and fix these problems.

The service here is always exceptional. Any day I'm having a bad day or a rough work week I come here. The workers always bring a smile to my face. They are extremely friendly, and service always blows me out of the water. The food is some of the best out there. The street tacos are to die for. Their burritos are so fulfilling and delicious. Their beverages are always ice cold. I would not recommend any other taco stand other then this one.

Ihave been to Pig Patas Express at least 6 times now. I’ve gotten the enchilada burrito with red sauce and it is out of this world amazing! The carne asada is the way to go. The meat is so tender and flavorful, not dry and full of grizzle like most taco trucks in SE. The tacos are fire, and the salsa is also super yum. I also love the fact they have the chipotle hot sauce as an option. Highly recommend!!

Google
Overpriced and disappointing. My burrito started dripping a quarter through eating it. They didn’t have the meat and still charged full price. The food is also very salty and oily, tastes good otherwise.

Google
It’s not often that you find tacos or any Mexican food that comes close to authentic Mexican. As a self proclaimed foodie this cart is the closest in flavor, quality, and overall experience. Located in the Woodstock district this cart offers a variety of different dishes all of which have that authentic flavor only found in Mexico. With plenty of seating nearby this makes an amazing place to take the family for a quality outdoor dining experience.

Best taco stand I've ever had. Closes things to authentic Mexican food. I would recommend this to even my enemies because they deserve all the best. I love to eat . My husband and I are self-proclaimed foodies, and we eat here constantly. I've also always asked my husband to pick up their street tacos when I'm having a bad day at work. I would not ask for anything else. Best in the whole USA as someone who has been to every state but Alaska, this is the best taco stand I have ever been to. I've always been to Mexico and Puerto Rico. I have to say they always have stuck out in the food industry for me. If they do catering. I would love to have them for my main wedding. I got married at the courthouse but planned a bigger wedding down the road.

Google
Idk what these other people order or what their knowledge of Mexican food is, but every time I get tacos from here they are fire. I don't get burritos or other things, so I can only attest to the tacos. But they seem legit and I wonder more so if the people ordering don't know the deal. I could be wrong. But I been here like 12 times and it's always good.

Yelp
It's the thought of being hungry Tum tum tummy like a drum Beating louder with no way to guard it When it all seems like it's wrong Just sing a BTS song Fiesta feasting, we're just getting started When Jarritos get colder And the rhythms got you Mucho Macho Just dream about Hawaiano You hook yourself up with Norteño Then you say Alambre dance The music's got me going Ain't nothing that can stop how we move Let's Chorizo breakfast Live just like BBQ Texas Rock and rollin' like our dancing food We don't need to worry 'Cause when we ball, we know romance Don't need to talk to the Taquitos Just hand over the Burritos 'Cause we all need Pig Patas to dance

Yelp
We tried three of their basic tacos. The Al Pastor, which I expected to be their expertise, was bland and a bit gamey. Each taco had a weird single slice of pineapple on top so that the flavor isn't distributed evenly. Carne Asada was similarly bland. The Carnitas I'd give 4/5 stars to. It was good, but not great. Each taco also had two tortillas, making them rather thick, and ends up being half of what you taste. The way they cook them they get stuck together so annoyingly you can't even remove the extra tortilla. The brick and mortar might be better. Haven't tried it. But won't be back to the food truck. Bummer, as there are great places in town that are just a bit of a hike to drive to from the Sellwood/Woodstock area.

Yelp
What wonderful street tacos. The carna asada was outstanding and also the grilled chicken one was delicious. We'll be back to try more things.

Yelp
Had the pork carnitas plate with corn tortillas. Delicious and good portions. Also ordered the horchata and it was also very good.

Yelp
Best breakfast burrito I have ever had. Really good salsa - dark red and the mild green. I think I am going to become a regular.

Yelp
The food is mid and overpriced which was honestly expected, but was craving some fish tacos. What was not expected was how rude the guy taking my order was. Strong aura of not wanting to be there. I had tried to stop by a few weeks prior, but stood there for 10 minutes and was ignored. That should have been my first sign not to go back. There are some phenomenal food carts in this pod, spend your money elsewhere
