On the Grid : Pigeon Espresso Bar

"Pigeon espresso bar is the coolest kid on the block. Sarcastic, self-deprecating and fluent in pop-culture-speak, the coffee shop shows off its “street cred” through punny merch (like its “Make Americanos Great Again” caps) and Drake-inspired board art. If you’re more about the drink than the #mood, Pigeon pours a mean coffee and even has Kombucha on tap (for your weird friends)." - Havas Montréal

The Best Student-Priced Food Near Concordia University - Eater Montreal

"It has never been made clear why Pigeon decided to employ reverse psychology when it first opened, touting that it offers the “world’s worst coffee”, but in any case, the third-wave brews here are actually some of the best in the area, even if students used to the burnt-hair brews at Tim Horton’s might baulk at the prices. There’s also pastries and kombucha." - Tim Forster, Holly Tousignant

This is my favourite Pigeon by FAR and I’ve been to 3 locations (are there more??)! The dual business with Hang Time Pizza is great. It’s everything a student can ask for. Me and my friend came here, she got pizza and ice tea and i got a caramel macchiato with grilled cheese and tomato soup. We played guess who. (There are board games on the Hang Time side) Also it’s right next to Webster library. Highly recommend. (Pro tip: bring your own spoon or ask for a real one for the soup, it’s delicious but the wooden spoons are flat 😂)

This is a charming little cafe that shares a space with an equally creative pizza joint. The service was excellent! I ordered and iced tea but did not realize their house iced tea is made org lemon and the barista was very accommodating and made me a new tea. My son loved his coffee and my husband his chai. Love the plants hanging from the ceiling and the humor and vibe throughout.

Cafe and pizza/deli combined. The cafe part is really nice and the coffee is superb. I ordered a soy decaf latte and it was very milky. I also ordered a s'more cookie because they looked so good! In the pizza/ deli part they sell pizza slices, burgers, fries and other things. The smells were incredible and the theme was very 80/90s. It was really nice. There are some spots to work, but charging ports are limited. Service was meh.

Wanted to find a coffee shop to work at and chose Pigeon Espresso bar because of the good reviews. It definitely has amazing coffee and snacks and has ample seating room for you to sit and work. The staff was very accommodating and nice as I was there for about 3 hours. I ordered the confetti cookie, mocha and flat white which were all solid items. Keep in mind that working there is a little hard if you're going to be on calls as the music is pretty easy to hear.

One of the best coffee we had in the city. The place is very cool and welcoming. We loved the combination of coffee/ haircut/ tattoos in one place. Well designed and very friendly people. We got the T-shirt too :)

My fav location for early coffee. All their baristas are friendly, smiley, and make the best cappuccino. I tasted their vegan blue berry and it is really delicious. A must go for early birds.

They don’t make them like this anymore. Quick, nice and very good job of a great espresso. They girl who makes the espressos is great and the small is just big enough to have one of the best coffees in the city. Drawback is that everything else feels a bit too expensive.

Amazing maple latte! The best latte we had in Montreal. Espresso was good too but I would have preferred it on a regular small cup. But the maple latte was simply fantastic. Interesting brand too…
