Amazing food! My favorite BBQ I’ve had in the Denver Metro. We like the food so much that we are having them do the catering for our wedding. The owner and staff have been amazing to work with around our wedding and catering order. They are super kind and accommodating and we got to have fun doing a tasting for our wedding food yesterday that was above and beyond what we expected! Would definitely recommend as a place to get some lunch and dinner but also as a great option to cater a special event for you!

Google
Amazing food, amazing service! I was greeted by Fernando who was incredibly kind and informative and he explained the menu to me. I got the Big Country bowl with brisket and being from southern Missouri it made me feel right at home. $13 is way more than fair for the portion they give. Will definitely be back!

I have been consistently going to this place for the past 5 years and have always had overall decent experiences until today, it seems like they have some new staff now. The people who’ve ordered in front of me got their food right away, after about 10 minutes of waiting more people came and ordered food which they also got right away and before me. If they were waiting on a specific thing to cook for my order that’s fine but nobody let me know and it seemed quite unfair since I only ordered 2 bowls. When I got home with the bowls the porky pie bowl was full off 100% uncooked bacon it looks like they took it right from the fridge and put it on my food, and lots of pieces of pork skin through out my bowl along with uncooked pieces of pulled pork which is nasty and have never experienced here before today. I called to inform them of this and hopefully get a refund for the one bowl since I couldn’t eat any of it with raw pork. They said all they can do for me is give me a little discount next time I go there, I don’t think I will be returning which is to bad because they use to be the best bbq place I knew of.

I recently visited Piggin' Out Smokehouse with a group of three, and we decided to go for the party platter. The food arrived surprisingly fast, which was a nice touch. However, we were eating inside, and one downside was the lack of heating in the indoor seating area, especially on a cold winter evening. This caused the meat to cool down quite quickly, which took away from the overall experience. Despite the chilly atmosphere, the service was excellent. The staff were friendly and accommodating, making us feel welcome throughout our visit. While we enjoyed the food, I would recommend Piggin' Out Smokehouse more for takeout during the winter months, as the indoor conditions can be uncomfortable. Overall, a solid choice for takeout but not ideal for dining in during the colder seasons.

Google
Fantastic slow smoked B.B.Q. and all the fixin's. We ordered a Sampler Platter which came with Chicken, Brisket, Pulled Pork and Ribs. Also served with cornbread as well as 2 pint sized sides of choice; Mac. & Cheese and Baked Beans for us! The Sweet Tea is light and refreshing... Cool, comfortable atmosphere (we got it To-Go) adorned with scores of Piggy Pictures and Devine swine swag. The only thing better than the award winning food is the down-home hospitality! Absolute masters of their craft, this B.B.Q. is NOT to be missed! -We'll be back soon...

Google
Piggin’ Out Smokehouse feels like that hidden BBQ spot you always hope to find laid back, welcoming, and full of flavor. The pulled pork and ribs are the kind you’ll keep thinking about days later, and the sides (hello mac & cheese and cornbread!) make the meal even better. It’s the kind of place where you can roll in hungry, leave happy, and already be planning your next visit!!

We had Piggin' Out cater a wedding reception and I can't say enough good things about them! Zack was wonderful to work with from Day 1 when I just called for information. He was thoughtful, answered all of my questions, and easy to work with throughout the whole process. Eric brought the food, set-up, served, cleaned up and was also top-notch. I even had guests tell me how much they enjoyed visiting with the caterer! All of this, and not to mention that they were by far the most reasonably priced and the food was absolutely delicious! I can't recommend them any higher as they went above and beyond to make sure that our event was a success! Thank you Zack and Eric!! You are the best!!

Google
This used to be my favorite place for BBQ lunch time... Won't be going back after today. I ordered half rack of ribs with w sides, the sides are so small and the chilli and mash potatoes was dry no juice to the chilli, one little cup of BBQ sauce for a half of rack and the ribs had no crust to it. Very very disappointing. Definitely won't be talking about or recommending pig n out anymore.

Yelp
My husband and I had our wedding at Ever green Lakehouse and used Piggin Out as our caterers. Not only did the food not disappoint (YOU HAVE TO GET THE CANDIED BACON MAC!!!), but the service we received was nothing short of remarkable. We had two lovely gentleman who served the food, set up and cut cakes that we did not even get through them, and helped clean the venu and clear plates. These men stayed all night and did so much more than just cater our event. They even left us a very sweet message on our guest book phone. We are from Michigan and let me tell you - I wish they were based out of there so we could use them for all of our events. As two people in our twenties we also were very impressed with prices. If you needed a sign to book with them - this is it. 7-24-25 is a day we will always remember.

Yelp
I've passed by this place for years and today I was in the mood for some good tasty BBQ. I wasn't the only new customer today, there were 3 others in line with me too! Tight space if there would have been more customers ordering. I had a hard time ordering because there were so many things I wanted to try and the aroma of the bbq was making me more hungry. I ended up ordering the Porky's Pie Bowl - Mac and cheese, baked beans, pulled pork, candied bacon, and mild bbq sauce. OMG yep, all that goodness in one bowl. The pulled pork was so tender and the candied bacon was out of this world. I wasn't watching calories today for sure. I couldn't finish it all so yummy leftovers it is! There is plenty of outdoor seating. It looks like they have added sections of covered seating throughout the years. Minimal indoor seating. I'd come back for another tour around the menu. I need to try something from desert menu too, but I'm stuck on what I should get first, banana pudding, peach or cherry cobbler or frosted Nashville honey glazed cornbread!

Yelp
Stopped in today for lunch with a friend. I had not been there in four or five years. This experience was top shelf. The staff were pleasant and extremely friendly. The ordering process was simple and the counter attendant really helped sort through all the options. The food came out well packaged, to go. Even though we ordered "to go" the farmy ambiance really begged us to take a seat and eat in their folksy outdoor eating area. It was a beautiful fall day and our meal was exceptional. I easily enjoyed their peach cobbler that I had for dessert. This is a very "local" type place and it's a favorite for sure. I really need to come here more often. They also have a great outdoor area you can book for private events. I was clearly on a romantic date with another woman and was never treated any differently. Seemingly, very lgbt friendly.

Yelp
Meats , sauces, Kale salad, and vibe were good. B+ / A- D- on the Mac and cheese Outside seating on a low 70's, low humidity, Denver Sunday afternoon was nice. Lots of road noise from the busy intersection, though.

Yelp
We got the pot belly sampler and half slab rib plates. Super tender ribs. Cubed brisket is full of flavor and moist. Pulled pork, spicy hot links, and turkey. What a great variety. Two sides selected were their coleslaw and citrus kale salad. First time kale salad for me (ever), and it was pretty darn good! Corn bread was tasty. All-in-all, I'd say it is has some of the best BBQ here in the Denver area. Loved their pork ribs!

Jeff J.

Yelp
Looking for EPIC BBQ when attending a Redrocks Concert? We found this perfect spot near the venue. Our delightful host Hanna suggested the Pot Belly sampler and bbq pulled pork sandwich. Great green chili mashed potatoes, Cole slaw and Mac-and -cheese as well. Watch out for the habanero bbq sauce! Epic and delicious.

Yelp
The food was ok. I was expecting it to be better. I remembered the food being better. The service was good and they were friendly. The restaurant hasn't changed.

Yelp
This place is hands down the best BBQ in Lakewood. I usually get the Hawaiian or the two meat plate. Their ribs slide off the bone and aren't dry. The pork is fantastic and sausage is equally outstanding. You know it's good when the staff comes up and asks if you're okay because you've spent the last 10 minutes sobbing in real time over how good the food is while you stuff your face with yet another Rib. They've started to put me outside in my own food tent and charge for people to come watch me sob over my meals. Kudos to you Piggin Out!!!
google avatar

Katelyn P.

Yelp
Damn good. Thats all I wanted to say but yelp is requiring I have at least 85 characters. So you're on this filibustering journey with me. And it's good comfort food with the Mac and cheese.

Yelp
I was visiting Denver and I saw this place on the web. Decided to head out there upon arriving the exterior looks like a rundown shed that didn't turn me off because sometimes in these places is where you find the best barbecue however the place was empty only two bearded guys smoking marijuana outside we were totally turned off so we went somewhere else and we had a better time. I wouldn't recommend this place to tourists maybe the locals might like it over there, but take your money elsewhere.

S P.

Yelp
It pains me to give two stars, but I truly feel like I need to say something after giving this place multiple chances. Maybe they'll take the advice? Who knows. The kale salad. Y'all. If you're going to use kale as a salad green you HAVE to massage it. It's a brassica vegetable. If you don't massage it, it's too tough to eat. Especially when they barely give you any dressing (I'm not exaggerating when I say it was almost completely dry). Also - take care to fully remove kale stems. All around, it was inedible. I'd recommend switching to actual salad greens like spinach, arugula, red and green leaf lettuce. I ordered the southwest sandwich without a bun because they don't offer a gluten-free bread option. What I received was basically chipotle mayo soup with chunks of chicken and a few chunks of raw kale . Can't imagine this thing on bread with the amount of liquid the chicken was sitting in. I tried to power through and just eat the chicken (I had planned on either putting this on my own GF bread at home OR the salad I got on the side....with how soupy it was, that wasn't going to work), but gave up about 3/4 of the way through because I was too grossed out. My husband has ordered the bowls before and has complained both times that there's barely any meat so you're basically just eating mashed potatoes. If you're going to eat here, I'd stick to the plain meats only. I wish this place were better. We live right down the road and I'd love to continue happily supporting our neighbor, but I just can't justify spending a bunch of money on food I'm literally choking down. Like I said, I hate giving so few stars but with how expensive it is to eat out these days, I'd hope the restaurants would actually take the time to learn how to prepare food well. AND keep the place clean (come on! This is the bare minimum requirement when running a restaurant. Most customers don't like to be grossed out by the physical restaurant). We're all out here trying to support local establishments to stimulate our local economy, but the restaurant can't take the time to improve their side of the relationship? I hope they take the time to reflect, read some of these negative-leaving reviews, and make some changes.

Yelp
Stopped in to try some bbq and it was good. Got the sampler with two sides... the sides are only tiny (two bite sized), not even 1/2 pint so, I would recommend ordering up. Nothing special about the cornbread. Chance helped served me, was friendly and knowledgeable. This is a cute roadside bbq place, nothing fancy but, good food overall. We'll be back to try it aga
google avatar

Tatiana T.

Yelp
Tender pulled pork, delicious cornbread, friendly and prompt service, seating for multiple large parties...this place was a fun little find. The only critique I can give was that the sausage link was a little overdone so it was pretty dry, but that doesn't warrant a negative star in my opinion. The jerk chicken and ribs were both sold out, so I'm assuming they're fan faves. Hopefully the next time I return, I'll get to try one. I do love me some jerk chicken.
google avatar

Oscar B.

Yelp
My boyfriend and I loved the food. He got the brisket sandwich and I got the jerk chicken sandwich. Very nice space. We sat in the little enclosed patio on a cute couch and it was not too busy but the take out was constant, it's obviously a popular place. Mac and cheese might be my new favorite from any restaurant. Coleslaw and mashed potatoes were both amazing as well.

Jd D.

Yelp
Not too bad, but overpriced. Everything was dry and the portions were small. My platter meal did not come with bbq sauce. I guess you have to buy sauce for $3.

Theresa N.

Yelp
The sides are just as fantastic as the meats. There's a cute dining area that fills up fast but also do to go.

S L.

Yelp
The food is decent. Definitely expensiv. But the restaurant is filthy. The vestibule where you order is awful. I don't think that room has ever been cleaned. Dirt on the floor, LOTS of tchotchkes that have never been dusted, it's just gross. How do they pass their health inspections?
google avatar

Papa B.

Yelp
It's not been good since the original owner sold it a few years ago. It used to be the best place to get ur BBQ on . But now it's not good anymore. There are many better places to get BBQ than this establishment
google avatar

Elise M.

Yelp
The best bbq in town! We always love their ribs, Mac and cheese, and cornbread. It's a go-to whenever we have family visiting
google avatar

Chuck G.

Yelp
Got some takeout today, first time customer. Beef brisket sandwich was really good. Had the spicy bbq sauce on side. Brisket was very tender and flavorful. Good cornbread and slaw. I will def go back.
google avatar

Cameron Q.

Yelp
We got the piggy sampler. It was a lot of food. We chose to dip our barbecue in mild barbecue sauce and pineapple one. The pineapple one was a bit too sweet for our taste. Now, let's talk about the meats. The chicken was whatever, not totally impressed on its favor. The brisket was a bit dry. Their ribs were very good. The pork was good as well. I wished the BBQ meats have more pepper to it. They were missing the smoky aroma. Additionally, their sides were very good. The mashed potatoes had a ton of peppers We love pepper. However, it was a little bit salty for me. The coleslaws were tasty as well. We have it a 4 because for Denver standard, this was pretty good.
google avatar

Joe R.

Yelp
First time visit but I'll be back again. We had the pulled chicken and brisket sandwich platters which were very good. Dining is out doors so there are plenty of picnic benches and some are covered too. We had take out, so the protein is wrapped tightly in foil and includes your two sides and the hoagie bun. The rib basket is tasty and you can get a full or half slab. There are a couple of sauces to choose from including spicy and a sweeter molasses based BBQ sauce. The sides we had were the mac n cheese, baked beans, potato salad, pasta salad- all good stuff!
google avatar

Glenn T.

Yelp
Nice atmosphere and staff felt overworked. BBQ was fatty and was average in taste. Must of bought them on a bad night. Some of the side items were cold.
google avatar

Jennifer B.

Yelp
Eminently decent bbq with killer ambiance. We ordered the pork ribs and the brisket, but the ribs were the undisputed star of the meal. The Mac and cheese was baked, not saucy, with a hint of seasoning salt or something to give it a little something extra. The green chili mashed was literally that, green chili on mashed potatoes, but an inspired combo. The potatoes are silky smooth with the salty familiarity of elevated KFC. The green chili is thin and chili heavy - yum. The brisket salad was brisket on a bed of undressed kale and carrots. I feel like they could put in a little more effort on this one. For me, the food was a 4 but the ambiance was a 5 so I gave it a star-bump. We'll come back, but won't waste our time with the brisket next time.

Manuel R.

Yelp
Food is great Ambiente is good Service outstanding Very cool place the set Up! eating outside

David B.

Yelp
Delicious! Mashed potatoes were solid, pulled pork was tender and juicy, mac and cheese on point. Spicy bbq has the perfect amount of heat, and their menu is extensive! Next time ill be having ther brisket, and green chile mac.
google avatar

Ray K.

Yelp
Unique Outback atmosphere, tents and a tin roof, order on the porch. smoking plentiful menu, and the meats are fine , for sure, check out and dine.
google avatar

Trish R.

Yelp
Good food however way too expensive. it has a great family atmosphere. love the location.
google avatar

Yelp
Finally, a BBQ joint that serves authentic BBQ Flavors without being in a strip mall or being part of a chain. We had just returned to town from a ski trip, wanted some Q without traveling far and without any fancy frills. This is the place!... Excellent variety in a semi outdoorsy setting (Tents and awnings) setting...we shared some platters and laughs- and canned brews. Honestly, can't wait to return in the warmer months!
google avatar

Eileen B.

Yelp
This place makes me smile. Visiting my daughter she found this place. In the outside wasnt so sure but what a pleasant surprise. The food was excellent. There were six of us and we all loved our food. I got the Hawaiian barbecue which had pineapple pickled onions and so much more. My sides were coleslaw and potato salad. I kept hearing the baked beans rocked. The staff was so friendly and it's a perfect setup during COVID times. My next trip to Lakewood I will be back
google avatar

Jon A.

Yelp
If you like you BBQ hot and spicy, this is the place for you. Serious bite on the ribs and pulled pork. The brisket wasn't as hot. The wife had the ribs and finished 1 maybe 2 because they were too spicy for her. I had the sampler and enjoyed her ribs the next day. All were tender and juicy. The heat level will prevent us from ordering again ( and the fact they forgot to include the sauces). Super nice people even when we called and said our sauces were MIA.

Yelp
I've watched Piggin' Out grow over the years, from the time when it had a dirt parking lot and no customer seating. There is a paved lot now and available seating outside the tiny building where they make their daily offerings; they also have a food truck and do catering. The food is delicious! Smelling their homemade bbq sauce from the street is enough to draw you in! The sauce is fantastic, just be sure to get extra as the serving is too small to accommodate whatever mouthwatering meat you choose to go with it.l, in my opinion. Be aware, there could be a little wait to order due to the size if the shop interior, but it's well worth it.
google avatar

CO C.

Yelp
We were really disappointed with Piggin' Out. After a long day of hiking we were craving a patio, beer and yummy bbq. The patio and beer were good but the food was a total letdown.. Everything was ice cold. We ordered the brisket sandwich, it was ice cold. Sauces were cold, macaroni and cheese was cold, mashed potatoes were cold. We were really disappointed. On top of that, the "sides" come in plastic condiment cups. Literally a shot glass size of macaroni and cheese, a shot glass of mashed potatoes and a shot glass of coleslaw. Two bites tops. The prices don't reflect the serving size and we really don't see where all of these great reviews are coming from. We would have rather gone to a chain like Dickies or Moe's.
google avatar

Mike T.

Yelp
I dropped by here on a whim today while in town from Vegas, and it did not disappoint! From first sight, the restaurant reminded me of The Shed in Mississippi, so I was immediately intrigued. The counter is in a small building with room for about 4 people plus the person taking your order. When I got inside, I overheard that they were out of pork. I was disappointed because I wanted to try the southwest sandwich and I normally don't care for smoked chicken, but I gave it a shot anyway. I was really glad I did! The sandwich was full of flavor & the potato salad & baked beans I chose for sides held their own, too. Seating was outside in beautiful weather with a few other friendly patrons around, and the eclectic, rustic decor kept my eyes bust throughout my meal. The cost was reasonable and the staff was super kind, too, which all adds up to a 5 star review from me! Try it out! You'll be glad that you did!
google avatar

Peggy L.

Yelp
Food is excellent here! Since they added more outdoor seating, it's now more conducive to groups

Harry C.

Yelp
I stopped by while running errands and ordered a1/2 slab of ribs. ready in less than a minute. thick and delicious.
google avatar

Diane Z.

Yelp
This has been our longtime favorite BBQ place to visit- We've had everything on the menu and can't go wrong with anything ordered- always happy and friendly service here, inside or out the atmosphere is great, even the customers who visit here are terrific, we've made some new friends from just hanging out in the warmer weather, love how this place adjusted to our new world and restrictions that we're in place, service and food never suffered only the atmosphere got better- great neighborhood place to hang out, or worth the drive! If your a stickler for pork- must try the pulled pork -best in Colorado for sure!
google avatar

Mae D.

Yelp
It's the best meal I had while vacationing in Denver. We had the sampler with mac and cheese and potato salad...nothing disappointed! I wish I discovered them earlier so I could eat there AGAIN!

James V.

Yelp
What happened to the brisket here? They used to have some of the best brisket in town. It was chewy and dry this time around. Got to say the pulled pork was very good. Not over smoked, pretty tinder, and good flavor. Banana pudding kind of meh. Somewhat artificial and not enough wafer in it. Good homemade BBQ sauces.
google avatar

Wendy M.

Yelp
We've been here a few times before and so glad to get back this week. We ordered the ribs platter and a specialty sandwich. Both were amazing. Love that the staff are super friendly, laid back but attentive. The place itself reminds me of a cozy hide away, maybe a neighbor's place with lots of areas to sit, space for larger groups and live music. We have fur babies and love that there are water bowls available for next time. The ribs? Tender, meaty, juicy, with just the right amount of heat / spice. My PCBC sandwich (pulled pork, chili verde, bacon, smothered in cheese and spicy bbq sauce) - so good. Five stars all by itself. Also liked my kale citrus side salad and mac and cheese. My guy choose coleslaw and green chili. Love that these guys are close by and so very good.

Kellis W.

Yelp
Got the rancher sandwich and the Hawaiian huli. Meat on both was good, although there wasn't much cheese sauce on the rancher and the Hawaiian only had one small piece of pineapple, and there was minimal sauce on the sandwich. The mac and cheese was underwhelming, especially by barbecue restaurant standards. Potato salad was good, and the banana pudding was great! Food came out quickly and sitting outside was nice.
google avatar

Cindy L.

Yelp
We have been going to this place for over 20 years and I was pleasantly surprised to see the food hadn't changed. Trent who used to be one of the original master smoker is the proud owner of this place. Him and his wife Jeny(?)were so nice and fun when we spoke to them. We ordered the full slab of baby back's coleslaw and baked beans to go. The beans were just as I remember, so tasty. The ribs are tender, plenty of smoke flavor, great seasoning and they do make their own barbecue sauce, a few varieties. I hadn't been there in a while, Now they have a side patio and a full backyard patio with lots of seating. I WOULD go back to support this family owned business.

Myles H.

Yelp
Great burnt ends and ribs! I love this place. The atmosphere is so casual it is relaxing.
google avatar

Adam M.

Yelp
This BBQ was catered at a back-to-school event and I thought it was excellent. The star of the show was probably the brisket, which was super tender and flavorful. The pulled pork was tasty as well. My wife who is a vegetarian really enjoyed the poblano peppers and quinoa as well as the kale salad. The the mac' n cheese was just okay, a bit too much of a cream to cheese ratio for the kiddos but not enough to change the 5 * rating. I'd definitely come back on my own dime.

Yelp
So GOOD! Tasty, quality bbq! Friendly service and lots of seating options outside to enjoy the Colorado weather and sunshine. We looked for bbq near Red Rocks before a concert and this place popped up. We ordered the Piggin Out Sampler - $39.95, Chicken, 1/2 slab ribs, brisket, pork, two half-pint sides (baked beans and Mac and cheese), and two slices of cornbread, Flight of Sides, $15.50 to Try them all, a root beer (out of sweet tea), peach cobbler and banana pudding. Everything was delicious and loved the variety of seating options since it was raining when we arrived. This is a great spot for grab and go, take out and dining in on their patio near the bar area. We enjoyed the pork ribs, brisket, baked beans, kale salad, Cole slaw, and the banana pudding. The peach cobbler, pasta salad and shredded chicken was ok. My chef did not like the mashed potatoes much but I did. It reminded me of potatoes my family made at beach bbqs. Our feast was about $84 and it was so worth it! We will have a snack and meal with our lots of left overs after our Red Rocks concert. We liked the spicy bbq sauce and the Carolina Vinegar. We will be back to explore the sandwiches, sweet tea, bar area and other menu items. We live in Aurora but loved the bbq and would love to pick up bbq sandwiches and go the fishing and paddle boarding at reservoirs nearby this summer. This is a great option for catering and feeding a large group. Their menu is very accommodating and with different price points. Thank you and we will be back soon.

Yelp
Bought ribs and two sides of potato salad and coleslaw on 2-6-24. This place is a filthy germ-bucket that you can see for yourself - from the counter where you order to the inside picnic table where I consumed the garbage they fed me. Within minutes of leaving I had to pull off into a grocery store to use their restroom. In fact, I was miserable with an obvious bout of food-poisoning from just after 1:00 PM to 11:00PM. I reported these people to Jefferson County Department of Health. I called Owner Zack to inform of the severity of the problem, and this whiny miscreant told me he would credit my $28. meal and send me a text for confirmation. Surprise, I never received anything from this horribly dishonest bad actor.

Yelp
This place is amazing!! I would give it five stars but it's closed on Mondays and it's pretty pricy. But that aside I would for sure recommend it!! Hands down the best bbq you can get in the Denver suburbs. The meats are perfectly smoked and I love the candied beacon Mac n cheese!! Also it has been on the food network chanel multiple times. One being the show "Dine inns, drive inns, and dives" I believe. But don't quote me on that lol. Anyways just go check it out yourself you'll be happy you did!!

Yelp
Food is wonderful and eating outside in a tent is fun. This is a special treat for our family.

Yelp
After a day of skiing a friend and I stopped in to get a bite to go. The lady at the counter was extremely friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. I went with the pulled pork, baked beans and kale salad. I really enjoyed the salad and the pulled pork was pretty good. The baked beans were very sweet. The restaurant was clean and had plenty of tables. The restaurant had a few parking spaces. While waiting for our order it appeared everyone was ordering to go. Overall a decent bbq joint, but not the best.
