As always, i'm a fan of piggly wigglies... but this one did not have fried chicken livers. What's that all about?

I can’t help but smile, just thinking about the people I meet in Bigley Piggly Wiggly. A preacher, a poet, a tinker a soldier, East German tourists who loved the Marshall movie. Sushi was pretty good for government work, at least it was refrigerated. Clean shopping carts, really clean, not like your vegetarian aunt’s shopping cart with all her hippie clothes and pots and pans and things. Produce.

Checked out. 2 young girls too busy talking to acknowledge me. Put roast in bag upside down and only helped me load groceries in buggy after I loaded most of them. Possibly a little training would be a good idea.

The bakery knocked it out of the park!! I just asked for dinosaurs and it was a whole scene!! The cake was moist and the icing was delicious!! Several compliments!! Will definitely return for more!!

I literally called asking if they sold a specific item I was looking for that I needed. I was told on the phone BY AN EMPLOYEE "YES THEY CARRIED IT" I went out at 9:30 at NIGHT after we hung up to go pick up said item because my child was asking for it. got all the way there, it's a 20 min drive for me, TO BE TOLD THEY DONT SELL IT !!!!! even was told they were not sure I even called that store because they don't know who would have told me that!!!! first of all I know that's the one I called because they answered with biggly Piggly !! plus I compared numbers I called vs what's listed on line!! BE CAREFUL when calling regarding items they do lie about it instead of double checking first before answering!!!!!!!!!

This Piggly Wiggly location is a very unique one! The aesthetics inside this one is cool. They even have a working Redbox which is rare and cool to see!

Google
A little outdated, but such great hospitality here and the store has plenty of great options with prices being competitive the store was clean and my cashier was absolutely friendly

Yelp
This place should not be underrated. It has your standard West Virginia assortment of moderate quality meats and moderate quality vegetables, but what it does have is an assortment of jellies, jams, potato chips, and general Appalachian delicacies that makes it a few cuts above your average local supermarket. I particularly appreciated their dedication to selling West Virginia made products such as wines and jams, as opposed to selling only national brands.

Yelp
Today we went to pick up a sandwich tray we had ordered. In the past, we have ordered the same tray at the same price. The sandwiches were on a variety of rolls and croissants. They all included lettuce and tomato. This is what we got today. Slightly dried out white bread with a single slice of cheese and a single slice of meat. No lettuce or tomato. No mayonnaise or mustard. Nothing just bread and meat and cheese. If we didn't need them almost right away, we would've refused the order and gone somewhere else. As it was, we had to buy lettuce and tomato to add to the sandwiches before we set them out. This is the last time we will be utilizing this store.

Yelp
When I travel I hit the local grocery stores for souvenirs. Picked up local hot dogs and chili and bologna from Cavalier making their stuff since 1925 very good food to make on your trip back home. Hot mustards and Montreal steak sticks were great snacks. Picked up funny West Virginia shirts for only five bucks. Needed ice for my meats and they had that too !

Yelp
Who doesn't love Piggly Wiggly! It's not a big box store, it's more of a hometown small business kinda place. They don't really have the selections you would find in the Big Boy stores. However, they have what you need. The prices are fair. They serve the community that they are in. The Piggly Wiggly brand hot sauce is as good as any hot sauce out there. Their store brand is solid. Things are easy to find and it's an easy in, easy out kinda place. If your looking for tofu or organic Whole Foods, this isn't the place for you. The meat case is quality, and you get what you pay for.

Yelp
I always enjoy Foodland . I have fond memories of the store family environment . Especially aground the holidays there would be Easter and Christmas picture which was always free . Letters from Santa and the Easter. Bunny . The workers was very pleasant and helpful . And the photo lab Tom always done excellent job . All it took was a telephone call and he knew how to help you . Sad to say I shop closer to where I live now so I do not get there as much as I would like .

Yelp
First time I went in the store since living here and picked up frozen hamburger patties and a Boston creme pie. Will that night open the hamburgers and the patties were brown did not even try to cook them. Then the Boston creme pie tasted nasty like old lard the spoiled. This was my first and last time to shop at this store and is the last time. I will stick with kogers and walmart.

Yelp
If you want a great cake, check out now PigglyWiggly here at Spring Street. You can call one day and get it made for the next day. Great flavor. Wonderful icing. I purchase and have been purchasing sheet cakes every other month for the last several years for people's birthday in my work group . And they all say they absolutely love it. Wouldn't get the cakes anywhere else. I like the price of the salad mix and they also have the best fudge in the deli area.

Yelp
The standards of this Foodland make it pointless to shop at. The customer service women are small minded, over made up, and rude. I bought substandard produce at the store and returned it the next day, she asked me if I wanted something else I told her I'd have a look after I finished with her, (she was slow and incompetent when doing a return, no apology instead she acted like she was doing me a favor to take the return!) and then she told me I had to leave my bag at the counter. I spoke to the manager and he said store policy- I said my wallet is in my bag it is like my purse, (a very small day pack,) they said you can take your wallet out. I carry this bag everyday, everywhere I go, every grocery store, every department store and the only time I had ever been asked to check it in the last 5 years was at a dollar store in a sketchy section of Portland, OR. I had spent an average of $300. a month at that store and I shall never go into it again. They proved to me I was slumming and frankly I don't want to buy the food I eat from a slum store.

Yelp
I remember when this Foodland first opened, (I think it moved from the location on Bigley), when I lived in Charleston, but boy is it showing its age. It seems a little dingy and run down now. Their deli and bakery are above average. I've always stopped here as a matter of convenience more than anything else. They still have a decent selection and decent prices. I wouldn't go out of my way to stop here, though.

Yelp
Horrible produce, but good prices on meat.

Yelp
Not a great store but its worth it to stop here, grab a few a few items and avoid having to fight the traffic on Corridor G altogether.

Yelp
Great store. It has a better selection of brands than Kroger's since Kroger's always want to promote their brand they have fewer choices and varieties which I can find in Foodland! They have a great lunch/dinner bar and meats and frozen food's have good selections. Fewer choices of good fruit but otherwise I find shopping there quick, easy and enjoyable!
