The 38 Best Restaurants in Toronto, Canada | Eater

"A few all-you-can-eat Korean barbecue spots still dot the city, but diners who prefer quality over quantity turn to a la carte places like Piggy’s that emphasize sourcing and culinary culture. Co-owners Joeun Kim and chef Tory Chun, along with Kim’s sister Julie and mother Gi Ja Lee, leverage their respective expertises, from business sense to UX design, to create a great customer experience. Before diving into the rich proteins, try the naengmyeon (cold noodles), made from scratch using sweet potato starch, which are sourced from South Korea. Then be sure to order the signature dwaeji galbi (pork ribs): The meat is aged in-house, marinated in a fruity blend, and — like all the meats at Piggy’s — cooked over 100-percent Korean oak charcoal. Best for: This is a grilled meat lover’s paradise, but don’t overlook the other delicacies, like hand-folded dumplings (with a medley of pork, beef, tofu, and vegetables) and Korean pancakes made with shrimp and chives." - Tiffany Leigh

If you’re craving an authentic Korean BBQ experience in Toronto, Piggy’s Island is a hidden gem. It’s the only place in the city that uses real charcoal, giving the meat that rich, smoky flavor you can usually only find in Seoul. Don’t miss the steamed egg—fluffy, cheesy, savory, and airy, it’s easily one of the best side dishes around. Pair everything with a cold Korean Terra beer, and you’ve got a meal that truly hits all the right notes. To top it off, the service is outstanding—super friendly, attentive, and fast. Whether you’re a seasoned K-BBQ lover or a first-timer, Piggy’s Island delivers a memorable and delicious experience every time.

I watched so many reels on social media and read the reviews about charcoal BBQ so I was very excited to try this restaurant. Unfortunately, it came short on meeting my expectations. I spoke to the waiter and asked him to give me a recommendation as it was our first time there (3 adults, 2 teens 12 yrs old and a kid). We spent around $290 including tax and tips, which is not your average walk in the park family dinner. He recommended the table top BBQ - family meal for 4 people which offers variety of meat and we ordered 3 extra dishes to complement our meal (dumplings, Korean oancake, cold noodles). All of the meat wasn’t that flavourful, not marinated, just no flavour at all and the meat quality was mediocre. He also said we couldn’t get charcoal BBQ as it was only for marinated pork. But thinking back now, couldn’t we order marinated pork and other meat to get charcoal bbq?? Anyhow, I read the reviews here and others were able to so I don’t understand. I’ve tried other Korean BBQ places before and the meat quality is way better, plus they also give unlimited refills on side dishes (not that we ordered that many refills). Was it a good experience? It was Meh. For the amount of money spent, I was actually expecting better quality, at least the same experience that other social influencers have been posting about. There are better ones out there.

Had a wonderful experience at Piggy’s Island! The food was absolutely delicious — from the crispy Korean pancakes to the hearty stew and sizzling BBQ, everything was packed with flavor and beautifully presented. The service was warm and attentive, with staff checking in regularly to make sure we were enjoying our meal. What made it extra special was the adorable serving robot that brought our dishes right to the table — such a fun and futuristic touch! Highly recommend this spot if you’re looking for tasty Korean food, great service, and a memorable dining experience!

It’s my first time at Piggy’s Island and the service is phenomenal. The food was delicious and I loved their sides. Our waitress was so attentive and fun, she cooked our meat perfectly. It was such a wonderful experience!!

Google
We were kinda excited coming to this place. The excitement remains as we stepped inside the restaurant. The cute little decor was what held my attention, and then the flop season occurred. First thing first, there wasn’t many options to choose from; severs didn’t know how to explain several dishes, she only said, “it’s good.” We ordered a combo & cold noodles. Cold noodles was alright but when the meat came out, it was not as expected. Portion is small and not as appetizing. Service was also slow and lack luster. This meal cost more than 100$ and these are all the pics I took. Either it was bad that I didn’t bother to take or it’s merely what it really offered. Among all other competitors out there, this is one I suggest you can skip. 3/5

Absolutely amazing experience!! The food was incredibly delicious - every dish was full of flavor and beautifully presented. The service was top-notch; the staff were attentive, friendly, and made us feel truly welcomed. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a memorable dining experience.

Google
This place is an old favourite. This time we tried their cast iron pork belly KBBQ and assorted pancakes (jeon), which are new on their menu. The food showed up fast and the cast iron cooked the meat fast without burning. The quality of the meat itself was top notch. The server is there to help you grill the meat to perfection. The jeon is also something special that you can't usually find in other Toronto restaurants easily. I highly recommend trying it with one of their rice wine selections. It's an experience hard to find outside of Korea. The service is fast and attentive. Highly recommend!

Yelp
Piggy's used to be one of my favourite K-BBQ spots and was so popular back in the day before the pandemic / fire they experienced. I decided to come back and support the restaurant after the re-opening. The food quality is still among the top and I love UFO fried rice and banchan that came with the food. We ordered aged pork belly and I believe if I remember correctly the rib eye. The banchan was good. They also gave us buttered or margarine corn on the house. My fav of the banchan is the potato. We were able to refill our banchan and lettuce at no extra cost. However, the buttered corn is not refillable and extra. Service is nice and they even help you cook the food for you. Casual spot and enjoyed my meal. It's a lot less busy than it used to be. I hope their business picks up. I quite enjoyed my experience though it is quite expensive these days to enjoy it as often. My partner thinks it's a bit different to how it tasted before. Though I can't be too certain I remember how it tasted before. It could be the cut of meat we ordered this time.

Yelp
First time dining after it reopened. I am disappointed. Items we wanted tonight was "sold out" and food was not that great and smaller portions from post pandemic/ fire. Overall I don't think I'll be back.

Yelp
Food: Tea was great. We ordered a pork and kimchi soup which was indicated as spicy. We also had tuna tartare and the radish kimchi fried rice. Service: They had good service and accommodations as I asked if they only had table bbq, and was informed that I could order the soups from the lunch menu as well. It's good to know that that was an option. Ambiance: Decor definitely screams island. From the wood plank benches to the surfboard and island video projected on the back wall, they've nailed it on the theme. Overall:While we didn't choose table bbq, smelling everyone's meal around us definitely made us want to return.

Yelp
Came here with friends for just a fun night. We were a group of 7, but they sat us in 2 tables which was a bit awkward. It was super busy so took a while to order and the waitress was super forgetful and was running around the entire restaurant. The food took a while to come but was delicious. There was also a 20% off discount if you paid with cash, so we did that.

Yelp
Food was great, really fun atmosphere with great service and a busy ambiance blahhhhhhhh

Yelp
They finally opened after their renovations and I was excited to try this place again. The decor is great! I love the cute idea of calling it piggy's island with all the aesthetics!! A good amount of seating that didn't feel cramped or close to other tables. I went for the kbbq and I ordered the short rib and the garlic beef. I'd say everything was pretty fresh and good except that I found the meat a bit chewy. The service was prompt and efficient. During this dinner, they changed the bbq plate out twice which was appreciated as I didn't like my meat to taste like char. The prices were decent as I think it's on par with other kbbq places. Overall, a great place to get good food amongst friends.

Yelp
Restaurant looks refreshed and cute with a piggy bar. Service is friendly and attentive. Food wise, we only tried the lunch platter, so ratings may be different on bbq instead. Bbq at our neighbouring bbq tables do look good. Lunch platter has a nice variety of entrees, sides and soup. However, our hot dishes (Bulgogi and fried chicken) came out a little cold. I would also prefer the pancake being more crispy. I am not a fan of the fried fish (not small bones enough that one would eat it with the bone), and too much work to pick it out. Lunch platter is 28$ per person. Pic shows amount of food for 2 people, which is sufficient but doesn't stand out. We would come back to try the Korean bbq tho. Seating is good for smaller people but tight for larger people.

Yelp
I recently came in for a weekday lunch with a friend and tried their set lunch for 2 (ssam-bap jungsik). The servers were very friendly and helpful with ordering and they made sure that banchan refill (limited to 2 times) was done promptly. The banchans were all were prepared; my friend who tried Korean food for the first time loved the eggplant side dish. I loved that they offered the soybean stews in individual earthen bowls. Their spicy and non-spicy pork bulgogi were also very well done with just the perfect amount of marinade. Accompanying veggies for wraps were also plentiful so we didn't have to ask for a refill. We also ordered steamed Korean dumplings which were packed with meat, tofu and veggies. This was so delicious! I don't normally order dumplings when I go out because it's usually the store bought ones that are steamed or friend but here, it was made in house and the quality was definitely there. I am looking forward to returning to try out more of their new menu items soon.

Yelp
I've been to Piggy's a couple times before the fire, each time I remember it being so good, lovely vibrant atmosphere and the food was top notch. When I heard that they had renovated, I wanted to come try it out. We had the bbq combo for $99 (2-3 pp) came with 5 different meats, tteokbokki, corn cheese, some apps with vegetable pancake. The food was good don't get me wrong, but I thought it was pricey for what it was. When we asked for more pancake, they said it was not part of the refillable side dish, also when we asked for more cheese corn, they said it was not allowed for our combo. They did not even give us an option of how much it would be to get extra. The service was okay, it was pretty dead on Sunday evening, when I came in and was shown a table with stools, I requested a booth. There were many available and he told me 2 of them was reserved, so I pointed out the many other booths then he let me sit in the booth. It would just be more comfortable for my 2 young boys than the stools without backs. We had to flag them down for more tea and they put all the meat on a few times trying to cook for us, which made us feel rushed. We wanted to take our time to cook it. The beginning I understand when they try to put it on to cook, but they came back a few times to put the rest of the meat on which means we had to eat it quickly before it got cold, which is difficult when your trying to feel the kids at the same time. Anyways, I don't think I will come back and I hope they consider having some flexibility with refills on the sides and not just say no, some customers are willing to pay extra.

Yelp
This restaurant has finally reopened since it was on fire or burned down a few years ago. It is now known as Piggy's Island. The interior setting of the restaurant looked somewhat different than before. The menu was not big. It didn't have a lot of variety but was good enough to have a pork section, a beef section, a cold noodles section and a sharable appetizer section. I came here with my family, a group of 5. We ordered two order of pork ribs and two orders or pork bellies, a seafood pancake and a kimchi fried rice. Please note that ordering a minimum of two items is the rule dining at this restaurant. Other than what I have ordered, there also have side dishes on the house. Everything looked very good and tasted delicious, from side dishes to appetizers and to the main dishes. Waiters and waitresses checked in on us from time to time and changed the BBQ plate for us once they saw burnt on the it. Food were good and the service was wonderful. The only minor negative criticism I had was they did not have any large tables. All 5 of us were crowded at a medium sized table and could hardly find space to put our plates or our order on the table. Anyhow, it's a wonderful experience and I would come back for their beef.

Yelp
My friend really wanted to try out piggy's after it reopened. The ambiance was fun, I like the way the restaurant is laid out. However I have had better kbbq, considering this area has so many different options. It was also very expensive. I felt that the meats lacked flavour and the seafood pancake was soggy. We got the beef shoulder blade and pork belly. It wasn't bad but it wasn't amazing either. Not sure if I'll be back.
google avatar

Yelp
Excited it reopened after the devastated fire with new name and under new management thinking the food would be good or even better than before. Well.... it was a big let down. The menu is much smaller and more emphasis on actual kbbq. Price was higher than before and the service was slow (not enough staffs) I guess they are still "new" and their staffs have to get used to the layout. Taste of the food is ok, but for that price, I have many other options to choose from. So needless to say, this will be a one time deal for me.

Yelp
Great comeback! Interior turned out very good. Very busy at times but great service, food was as good as before. We had the pork belly and you can never go wrong. Some selected meat is cooked over charcoal so will try that next time. Highly recommend!

Yelp
Korean bbq restaurant that reopened. The food was not bad. The meats were pretty good quality. Side dishes were okay but corn & pancake were not refillable. Prices are higher than other restaurants. Service was okay and restaurant design with many pigs were nice.

Yelp
Great spot for Korean barbecue. The meat is fresh and they give generous portions. Good spot for dinner with your friends. The service is quick and attentive.

Sara Z.

Yelp
Would give it 5/5 for KBBQ dinner experience and 3.5/5 for lunch experience. We ordered a set off the lunch menu and was told the set now is $8 more expensive and missing some of items written in the menu. We changed to something else and enjoyed it but they should've updated the menu.

Yelp
2.5 stars Hands down this used to be my favourite Korean bbq restaurant. However, ever since I'd been to KBBQ in LA this pales in comparison. I was so excited to bring my aunts and uncles to try this restaurant but they left disappointed and I left feeling like I had let them down when I had highly recommended this restaurant. I don't know if quality has gone downhill or my expectations/standards of what KBBQ should be have increased. The meat was just not the quality we had been expecting.

Yelp
The marinated pork was a little uneven - while one part had good quality, tender, well-marbled meat, another bit was all or mostly fat - while fat is important, the texture was very inconsistent. That said all of it was still very tasty - the marinade is excellent. The pork jowl was a bit plain. The meat seemed good quality, but there was a lot of skin, which seemed very thick, so it was a little tough and didn't crisp up well. The dips were pretty good. The sesame oil was of great quality and though simple, went will with the marinated pork. The sweet onion sauce was pretty good too, though neither was enough to flavour the jowl; I'm not a fan of Korean bean sauce as it's heavy handed and one-dimensional. Cold noodle in broth (regular size) was decent, though the noodles were a bit clumpy. The portion was pretty sizeable. The 6 banchan (side dishes) were unexpectedly good and innovative. 4 of them were unusual (I've never seen them before): Pork in aspic, Marinated eggplant, Pickled lotus root & Lettuce in spicy sauce. All the banchan were good. The free corn (to put on the BBQ) was nice too. You get a free low-tier pop if you tag them on Instagram, and 10% off if you pay by cash, so that sweetens the deal.

Yelp
For first timer to an order by item table BBQ, my friend and I had an enjoyable time. Prices were not terribly steep but it would have been nice to have a selection of items not just table BBQ and like 4 or 5 rice or noodle items. Service was excellent as all the staff kept an eye on each other's tables to make sure customers are grilling meats well and not overcooking. For pork items, it was a gas grill and for beef, it was charcoal. When doing table BBQ, minimum 2 orders each must be ordered however we did not find that the portions was sufficient. Also, if one is not familiar with korean table bbq, just need to note to be very careful of grease splatters as we had some hit face and hand and it hurt. For ambiance, it was moderate to loud. Given that the grill was in the middle of round tables, it can get hard to hear the person across from you. We love the idea we can make payments by the door instead of at our table so that staff can do cleanup in between. For 2 people, we ordered pork belly and marinated beef and 2 other small items and overall cost with tips came out to a little under $200. Would we come back again? Maybe. Food and flavours were great but cost was just a tad expensive for our budget but understanding their location cost and quality of the items, this should be expected

Yelp
The cute pig symbol intrigued us and the great reviews added to it. Do get a reservation, it took us about 30mins to be seated. The waiting was worth it. The servers are friendly and the service is Swift. We got the army stew, potato pancakes and the peach soju twist. It was a lot of good for two people, we ended up taking the pancake home. The stew was nice and spicy the sausages and spam were ok and the next time I will opt for one of the other stews though. The pancake was cooked very well but needed the sauce as it was bland. The sides were delicious, the best kimchi I have had yet. I like mine slightly spicy. About $55 for 2 people was decent we could not even breathe was how much we overate. The soju is a must try. And I am going to try the BBQ next time we are there. Food: 4/5 Ambience: 4/5 Vfm:4/5

Yelp
What's not to love about grilled meat? On a Saturday night, Piggy's was packed. We had to wait about half an hour before we were seated. In a strip mall, there's a lot of parking on site. Service was excellent; the small dishes were replenished constantly. Highlights of our meal were the pork belly (who doesn't love bacon?) and garlic beef. Our server also put pieces of the cabbage from the kimuchi on the grill with the former - a lovely idea as it added a nice kick to the pork belly. I didn't notice this, but I have been told that Piggy's is a little more expensive than other places. For the quality of the meat, I didn't really find the price point outrageous, but to each their own. I will definitely like to return and try other items on their menu. Good for: Korean BBQ

Yelp
How's the Service other things are okay, but they are stingy and cheap about their side dish. we had 8 people and they didn't want to bring 2 sets of side dishes. either offer it, or don't offer it. doing a half ass job offering it is even more retarded. maybe they dislike large group of people. it's always a problem when we bring lots of friends with the side dish. so if u go with a large grp of people and u like their side dish. I guess good luck. Food is pretty good, but yah that side dish thing makes me don't want to bring any people there. kind of a let down really

Sandy W.

Yelp
If I could leave a 0 star I would. The ordering process was so complicated with so many ridiculous rules, we were told by the restaurant manager that we can't order different sets of meat because they didn't want to clean the different types of grills that came with the different meat. Never been a concern at the 30 other KBBQ establishments I frequent nor do I understand why their cleaning process needs to dictate how their customers should eat, seriously what does it have to do with me? Super weird and messed up that they didn't allow the customer to order what they wanted to eat. Never coming back here and will never recommend this place to anybody based on the service. You're better off going to Daldongnae or Mapo with your money.

Yelp
Piggy's was great. I went on a weekday night and they were still pretty busy. We were seated immediately as we had reservations. The servers were very attentive kept checking up on us (and our grilling meat) to ensure everything was alright and our food wasn't burning. Our orders pretty much all came at the same time and our table was overflowing with all the food. The pork that we were grilling was delicious and tender. My favourite dish was the octopus hot pot we got. I liked it not for the octopus but for the udon that came with it. It was so soft - the perfect texture for how I like my udon. The udon also absorbed the soup base quite well. However, there was barely any octopus in the hot pot. I think they could've put more to make the dish better overall. I liked the soup base for all three dishes that we ordered; however, they did all taste the same / very similar (not sure if that's good or bad)! Regardless, it did taste good and I would recommend Piggy's if you're going in a group so you can order / share multiple dishes.

Yelp
Traditional Korean dishes, with a twist. Service: Waitresses were generally very attentive, and if not, were just a push of a button (at your table) away. Food: The banchan were not the typical free appetizers served at Korean restaurants, with some better and some worse. Appreciated the fried egg pancake, egg plant, and radish, but bok choy was a miss. The bulgogi x octopus hot pot was delicious, especially on a cold wintery evening. The sweet and spicy combo of the soup, enoki mushrooms, octopus, bulgogi, and udon noodles really hit the spot and blended into a delicately-balanced soup. The soup is also plenty for two people, likely could even feed three! I'll be coming back to try their other items (namely BBQ) on the menu, stay tuned. Overall: Korean comfort food at its finest, definitely worth a visit!

Yelp
We're fans of Korean food and frequent the options in Koreantown on Bloor. Piggy's Restaurant just north of the TO border is comparable in food quality and is slightly more refined in presentation, service and price point. We came on a busy weekday night and were seated shortly in a comfy table stall. We picked the signature pork belly BBQ, as well as the UFO rice just because the fried rice surrounded by a saucer of egg/cheese looked so cool. When the vast array of side dishes came out, I knew we ordered too much food for two. They gave us 7 side dishes that included typical kimchi but also potato pancake and salad in sesame dressing that was amazing. The pork belly came in a fancy tabletop drip pan, each strip was nicely scored for a better cook. It was deliciously tender with just the right amount of fat content, and accompanied by seasoning and fresh lettuce. Yes, parking can be a bit harder to come by in the crowded plaza but that's when you know it's legit Korean food. And yes, watch out if you see a shinny floor patch it's as slippery as it looks with grease. I don't mind a few minor obstacles to get by for good food.

Yelp
I'm providing a simple yet satisfactory review for this one. Not trying to act out poetry but... Busy Yummy Smelly Pricey Busy busy place on a Saturday eve. Try to go early since the shared lot for parking gets very hectic later on in the day. The food is mouth-watering. Lots of meat! Very satisfactory in terms of taste. Now it's time to work it all off!!! Smelly in a good way. Oh that Korean BBQ smell. Now it's also time to do the laundry...To wash out that smell. Pricey. Our five adults and two toddlers cost over $300 with tip. Well worth it though for the experience. Heck if you have a fat wallet, I suggest you frequent the place! Just work it off after the fact. Isn't there a gym just north of there on Yonge St??? LOL! Happy K-BBQing! May go back one day!

Yelp
I have been to their downtown location, Little Piggy's, a few times and has always enjoyed it. This is their Thornhill location. Piggy's offers authentic Korean cuisine and is a popular spot for KBBQ. Please note that this is not AYCE, and they are a full-service restaurant, so they do offer a wide variety of traditional Korean dishes if BBQ meat isn't your thing. The restaurant was spacious with a homey vibe. We got the King Kalbi, which was a platter of non-marinated large cuts of premium beef short rib. Highly recommended for 3-4 people. There is a smaller portion available for 2 people. While it was non-marinated, the cooked BBQ meat tasted amazing with the accompanying sweet sauce. The beef ribs cooked quickly on the grill, and I loved the smokey flavor that the charcoal provided. Speaking of charcoal, they are specially imported from Korea. Next up was the Pork Belly, and they were thick! Piggy's Restaurant is one of the few restaurants in the city to serve up extra thick slices like what locals enjoy in South Korea. Excellent quality of meat and the pork belly had a good balance of meat and fat. If you look at their extensive menu, the meats are priced for two people. The bill can add up if you get more than 2+ kinds of meats, but they do offer lettuce wraps and a wide assortment of banchan (side dishes), which are re-fillable. Overall, the staff was accommodating, great food and service.

Yelp
Korean cuisine with a pleasantly interesting twist in their dishes. We really enjoyed this restaurant, which serves Korean BBQ as well as traditional Korean meals. This review does not account for their Korean BBQ, as we haven't tried it yet! First off, their duck patties were the highlight of the night. They kinda taste like high-end crab cakes, absolutely delicious! Their kimchi fried rice was served on a plate surrounded by steamed egg, which enabled an impressive combination of tastes and texture. Then there's the seafood pancake, thicker and fluffier than most places and we gave it two thumbs up! There is free parking in the shared plaza lot, and it gets really hectic during peak hours so you may have trouble finding a parking spot. Highly recommended. Get reservations, because this place can get mad lineups out the door.

Yelp
Since my GF mentioned this place, it was about time we came here. Though she adorably admires the cute little piggy logo, its not the reason why most come here. Rather, its the quality and authenticity of Piggy's that makes it a popular go-to for Korean BBQ. Keep in mind if coming here during peak dinner hours you may be prepared to wait, but it's well worth it. Our group of three decided to order an array of items, Pork belly, Kim-chi fried rice, salad, beef broth soup. Overall their portions were sufficient, delicious and quality was evident. It totally beats out AYCE Korean BBQ. However keep in mind, this place does get a bit pricey, but it's all about quality.

Yelp
Came around 2 PM for a late lunch. It was not very busy at the time. We opted not to get their BBQ and went with the large pork bone soup in a hot pot and a pancake. The pancake tastes good, but the pork bone soup despite the size of the pot, came with pretty much 4 or 5 pieces of meat and not much of anything else. Granted, at that point I realized what they meant by "adding extras" to the pot: it literally means you will get pork bone and soup if you don't. Maybe 5 or 6 pieces of rice cakes. Now, yelp review mentions good or excellent service. Unless "great service" means they take your order and bring you side-dishes and your dishes (aka doing their job without looking annoyed), it was pretty terrible for a restaurant with only a few tables of customers at the time. There were waitresses coming and going to bring dishes, but none of them asked if we wanted refills on the side-dishes, or any other things you would expect of service. When we pressed the bell on the table, no one came either until we pressed it a few times; only then did someone come 5 minutes later. Perhaps if we had ordered BBQ, we might have received better service. You know, you get what you pay for.

Yelp
Obviously I returned here after hearing about the return of cold pig feet! It's chilled pig feet presented atop of bunch of raw onion slices, tossed with apple and Asian pear with Korean mustard drizzle. Just don't ask anymore and try. My English quota is at limit for the day and it's one and only in GTA at this moment :p Considering the order being served with mussel soup, I guess it's good to go with soju. But I chose cold noodle instead, feeling too hot somehow, I had to wind down myself a bit. Don't worry about the service, there's button to summon the server anytime and I find the food quality is simply above all the Korean restaurant. In fact it's the only Korean restaurant i would pay. For those believe Korean cuisine is all about bean paste soup, pork one soup and occasional bbq, do some adventure here time to time. It may not be the everyone's taste and I admit some are modified to cater our pallet in North America. But hey, they are still one of few offers these specialty dishes at the same time and I assure you won't find better deal elsewhere :D

Yelp
As of yesterday, York region allowed indoor dining again. It's my friend's birthday weekend and she was feeling for KBBQ. Reservation was made earlier in the week as we never want to stand around and wait for a table especially during covid. Upon arrival, the host took my temperature and showed me to the table. It appears they closed off a section of their seating near the entrance of the restaurant and they placed a stuff toy occupying the seats which looks really cute. The restaurant was clean and spacious and tables were spaced apart. We felt safe and very comfortable. The wait staff were really friendly, attentive and efficient. They came around to change the grill three times, took away empty dishes and got us extra side dishes. Between the 4 of us, we ordered the marinated beef ribs, rib eye, pork belly and pork jowl. We each got our own places with condiments which is something I really appreciate and love about this restaurant. The meat was delicious and the portion was perfect to share between the 4 of us. For drinks, we ordered the pineapple juice asoju twist pitcher. It's a delicious fruity beverage with pineapple pulp that was served in cute classes with a smiley face. The waitstaff even made sure we got 2 smiley face and 2 winking face which was really cute!

Yelp
Had a pretty good first visit. We went specifically for the huge dumplings and were not disappointed. We also had beef bulgogi, pork bone soup and ox bone soup- they weren't the best we've had but we were satisfied. We went on a long weekend at 6 pm and were seated within 10 minutes. It was a very fast paced restaurant and we didnt enjoy hearing the host shouting at the servers. What bothered us most was the oily/dirty table and floors. Use caution when you walk to and from your table!

Yelp
Heard that this place underwent massive renovation for a year and was now a hotspot in richmond hill. When we arrived I gave my name and phone number to the guy upfront and text was sent to my phone redirecting me to a website that real-time tracked our group's place in line. Pretty neat. The restaurant was absolutely packed on a friday night (good sign) and we were told it was gonna be a 40 min wait. We figured "oh what the hell" and decided to wait it out. When we got seated I noticed the huge smoke vents above every table to suck up all thay kbbq smoke (check). My group of 3 ordered a kimchi stew, tofu soup, seafood pancake, 2 orders of pork belly, 2 orders of marinated beef and a ufo fried rice. We got the usual assortment of banchan but we also received some really interesting ones. Aside from reg kimchi, we got a homemade 6 month fermented kimchi which was more sour and delicious. We also got two salads. One salad had a tangy sauce on it the other one had a creamy, poppy seed dressing. The poppy seed dressing was crack. I was dipping my meat in it too. The kimchi stew and tofu soup were nothing to write home about. Very average dishes that you could get at owl of minerva. The seafood pancake was the best one I've ever had. Packed to the brims with ample fresh seafood. The pork belly was the real star. Thick cut and soooo succulent. The beef was not bad but if you're gonna pick one protein to try here go for the pork belly. The ufo fried rice was also bomb af. Kimchi fried rice base topped with beef and surrrounded by steamed egg. MMMMM. The bill came to ~$220 so yea, definitely really pricey place but the food tasted amazing. I'm decreasing my overall rating by a star because of the price, otherwise if purely based on food, I'd prolyl award a 5 star.

Yelp
This place is pretty jammed packed on the weekend. A good selection of meat choices for their KBBQ and accoutrements. But the most important part about a KBBQ experience is the ventilation and space. Glad to report that I didn't come out smelling like bbq for weeks or that I would have to dispose of my clothes. Prices are a tad on the high side, but it is what it is. I've been here for the non BBQ experience, which i actually prefer. Solid Pork Bone Soup (PBS) options or BiBimBap (BBB). If you want service, don't forget to hit the button!

Yelp
This is probably one of the best kbbq places in Toronto. The meat is well marinated, very juicy, and very tender. The price point is a little higher than other places, but they use the best ingredients and they have a lot of side dishes! The presentation UFO fried rice is super cool, but the portion is a little small given its price. It's basically just fried rice surrounded by steamed egg. The cold noodles are not the best. I wouldn't recommend it at all. The noodles are way too thick and chewy and the broth is super sour. The dumpling hotpot for 2 is huge. The dumplings were a little overcooked. The skins of the dumplings were all falling off. There's supposed to be 6 dumplings, but there were only 5 in the pot. We had to ask them for the last dumpling. There are usually very long wait times on the weekends. Their online system is very bad. It doesn't refresh at all. One time we waited half an hour outside and half an hour inside. Good thing we spent the last half hour inside because throughout the entire wait the system did not update. Even after the meal the status was still the same as before.

Yelp
I loved the interior when I went. Apparently they just renovated so everything looks neat and tidy. It was a cold, blustery winter night and I welcomed the heat, which is not my usual reaction. As you can tell, the ventilation was not optimum here but that's what naturally happens at a Korean bbq restaurant. Food was great and lots of side dishes. My favourite side dish was that ball of what looked like ice cream. It was cold but my dinner date thought it was coleslaw. I also liked that pancake side dish thing. We ordered garlic pork and UFO rice with flying fish roe and kimchi. I usually die from the tiniest iota of spice but this UFO rice had a nice kick to it. You're supposed to mix it all together before you eat it, which is what we did :) I do recommend adding the cheese because if you don't, it tastes like egg. XD The garlic pork was already seasoned and marinated. We grilled it and staff actually came over and cut it into smaller chunks for it. Great service! They had a bell button to call for service but we secretly think it doesn't work because we've pressed 4x to get the bill and nobody came for a good 10 min. Insanity. It's a little pricey but def worth visiting with a group or for a special occasion.

Yelp
Not your typical ayce Korean grill house. Minimum order for kbbq is two. They have a variety or different section/grades of pork and beef to choose from. They're a little stingy on the sides refills and the server forgot a few things. Note: rice and stew are not included in the kbbq meal. However if you order a side of rice, it'll come with a mini soya bean paste stew. Their stew was nice and flavourful!

Yelp
Having read a number of reviews describing poor service at Piggy's, I was pleasantly surprised with their ability to handle our party of 14. We were seated in a series of 4-person tables, and were well tended to throughout the busy Saturday dinner rush. Within my table of 4, we ordered thin pork belly and garlic pork, with two servings each (the minimum). They brought up the pork belly first, which was cooked on a rectangular tray over the standard tabletop stove. Then the pre-marinated garlic pork was cooked over charcoal. Portions are quite large, and each serving comes with a plethora of side dishes (with free refills, other than the vegetable pancake). I thoroughly enjoyed the meal, but would probably go for meats with stronger flavours next time. The parking lot was quite full when we arrived, but there are a lot of spots, so I don't think parking should be an issue. Definitely satisfied with my experience.

Yelp
What a great place for food! Ordered their pork combo for $40 for 2 person and it was enough. Service there was friendly and quick. Was told this place was recently renovated and now I can see why. Big enough to fit a party. One of my top places to go

Yelp
Went here as a recommendation from my Korean friend and I was disappointed. Korean grill house is better in terms of taste and service. We came around 9pm on a Sunday so it wasn't that busy - when we sat down, most people had already finished eating. My family went here for my brother's bday and we had kbbq. We ordered a seafood stew, 2 portions of their tradition pork belly, 2 garlic beef, a squid cheese fondue, a Canadian beer specifically because they had ran out of Heineken, and their bulb soju drink. They brought out the wrong beer and forgot about my drink and had to be reminded. I had asked multiple times for the same thing such as getting hot sauce, or a certain side to be refilled Everything that we ordered was bland. Garlic beef had no flavour of garlic, pork belly was not marinated, and the squid was fishy. Don't go here and waste your money - for the amount that we spent going to Chako or Korean Grill House would have been a better and cheaper option

Yelp
We went to piggy on a weekday night as a group of 4 and order Korean marinated beef for the grill (double portion) and pork bone soup hot pot (medium). The service was average, maybe because they were pretty packed on a weeknight? But they did refill a few of our banchans when we requested it. In general, the food itself was average at best. Out of the 2 dishes we order, the beef was the better one, decently marinated and it was grilled over charcoal. However, I wouldn't say it is memorable...and it was quite pricey. The pork bone soup was disappointing....we order mild, which was probably part of the reason why it lacked the complex flavour, but the meat actually stuck to the bones!

Yelp
It's best to book a reservation ahead of time. You can use the yelp app to be added to the waitlist. I like the interior and the layout, clean and modern. For this trip I just ordered two beef items. They were delicious. I like how the server cooked our first piece of beef. Wasn't sure if she was going to cook the 2nd one but we decided to do it ourselves. Service was good but a little slow as it was busy. Price wise it is comparable to the other korean barbecue spots but I feel it was just very slightly more expensive(might have just been our cut of meat). Definitely coming back again to try the other stuff.

Yelp
If you have never tried Korean food before, this is a warning. It is hella spicy, but taste so good! Piggy's is a popular place amongst the Korean community. You might have to wait a bit for a table. They have a huge selection of bbq dishes as well as hot soups. We got the dumpling soup, and beef bbq. The beef comes raw and you must cook it to your liking. The beef is deliciously marinated and tender. There is always a line up to get into this place because of the bbq. If you are adventurous and want to taste real authentic Korean food then try piggy's.
