Pik Nik BBQ

Truly a life-changing culinary experience. I went here on a rainy Saturday while visiting family in Tarrytown. First the waitress Gabby was so incredibly kind, and professional. She was attentive but not overbearing and was really invested in making sure the food and experience was top-notch. It was. I ordered the Pork Belly Cuban. While not your traditional Cuban the chef here has put a lovely spin on it taking smoked pork belly and then perfectly rendering the skin down to crunchy perfection. The result was an exquisitely moist sandwich with perfect amount of texture and loads of flavor. The spicy chicken sandwich takes you on journey with the perfect amount of chili pepper with a sweet and pineapple like glaze. The extra sesame seeds on the buns elevates the dish even more and the addition of stilton Bleu cheese leaves you wanting more. Want fall of the bone ribs bursting with flavor? Chef makes them incredibly delectable carefully Seasoning the underside with milled spices and smoking them until they fall of the bone in what taste like hickory. Lastly the chef himself made an appearance at our table hearing my party absolutely gush about the tiny detail and love put into each of these dishes. Chef brought us a tasting of the brisket and kraut. Like each other dish served, the brisket literally fell apart upon touching it, and melted in your mouth. This is a pro who knows thier craft, and we couldnt have appreciated the experience more. We talked the chefs ear off and let him know the phenomenal work he is doing at Pik Nik BBQ. This was hands down the most unexpected, and 🔥 FIRE BBQ I have eaten at in years. I dont think I need to go anywhere else when I come and visit my family now!!!

We visited Pik Nik for dinner with a party of 5. The seating was limited but very cosy. The food was delicious. We ordered the following: brisket (lean was good but in-between was fantastic), pulled pork (tender), ribs (flavorful), fried chicken (crispy and juicy), cornbread (one of the best I've had). The chef was super friendly and came out to deliver the food. We will definitely be back!

It’s probably one of the best BBQ places outside Texas! We ordered brisket and smoked bird and even white chicken meat was melting in the mouth! Servers were very nice and gave attention not just us, but also our dog. Love this place!

Small BBQ on Main Street. Averaged price for good BBQ. Order your food at counter and staff brings it to your table. Seating is limited. Brisket was excellent. Ordered a box with 2 meats (ribs & fried chicken) and 2 sides. This was enough for 3 people. Ribs were very good, chicken was decent. Will return if in the area.

I LOVE a good BBQ spot and in this town, it's the place to go. Visiting Sleepy Hollow for the first time and had to eat before walking all around. Great menu, fairly priced for the area. Food was fresh and delicious. I liked the Mac and cheese but I feel it needs some more salt. I recommend the PLT and the Sloppy Brisket and the fresh French fries. The corn bread was different but good. No kids menus available but we were able to manage. Outside seating available but only a few spots. The service was great and we will definitely return if we visit again.

An Irishmans first American BBQ experience. Loved it , the fried chicken and ribs were my favourite , loved the biscuits , the pickles were great too. The pulled pork and brisket were good but not mind blowing , the cornbread was a bit overdone , sausage was excellent as were the chicken wings. it's quite small inside so a bit tight , overall I really enjoyed the meal though

Everything looks delicious there! I ordered Box #2 with the Burnt Ends & Ribs, and sides of fries & mac and cheese. And for dessert, I had the churros and a brownie. Food was amazing! Service was excellent! Everyone was super nice there! It was $68 all in the end, which is a great price! Went at 3pm on a Thursday and was empty. Plus, a clean bathroom in the back!

The Ruben was excellent. Kind of reminds me of the two bros from Pittsburgh. I'd recommend that surely. Chicken Wings were great too, sauce and marinade with a solid hint of thyme, loved it.

Pik Nik catered my husband's 40th birthday, and the whole process was a dream. First of all, the food is truly amazing. We used to live near Dinosaur in Harlem, and Pik Nik is better. We'd had basically the entire menu, but the ribs, pulled pork, and pastrami are standouts. For sides, I love the baked beans and the mac n cheese. All off-the-charts flavorful, and the meats are cooked perfectly. In terms of the party, Alberta was lovely to work with. She was communicative throughout the process of choosing a menu, setting up a delivery time, etc. She and an employee personally delivered the food, got us set up with chafing dishes and sternos, and then picked everything up at the end of the party (and they were flexible about the pickup time, which I really appreciated). All our guests raved about the food. All in all, I highly recommend Pik Nik for a meal, or even better for a fun party.

I had to walk out without my food because I got tired of waiting. I get to the place at 7pm and placed a takeout order; it took a while to pay because their system is messy... Then I just waited and never got my food. After sitting in front of the cashier until about 8pm I walked out without my food. This restaurant is a complete waste of time and money; it cannot for the life of anything take an hour to get takeout food anywhere; especially when the online estimate was only 15 minutes. This place is a waste of time unfortunately. I'm also pretty sure the two dudes who ordered right after me got their food as I didn't see them around when I walked out. There was also a couple who sat next to me and ordered food to dine in and of course they got their food.

I shouldn't have expected much from a BBQ spot in Tarrytown, but I was thoroughly whelmed. What I got: Brisket- a tad dry, and even though I asked for fatty they gave me lean. Pulled pork- not bad. I liked how they included the fat cap for extra flavor. Chicharron- decent, but this is hard to screw up. Collard greens- had a bit of curry flavor, which was atypical Prices are pretty expensive relative to the quality imo. They were out of ribs and pastrami when we went, so it's possible those are really good. But based on what I had, it was just ok.

This place is so good, our sandwiches were amazing. The armosphere is nice and the staff was very friendly.

A pretty small place but the brisket makes everything else a distant memory! The only thing these guys could do better is to implement a waiting list for the limited seating. It was a little stressful to be told "If a table becomes available, grab it." I would rather have my name called than worry about someone grabbing a table before me. BUT- the worry turned out to not be an issue. We got our table and enjoyed our meal.

This was my first time back in over a year and this place never disappoints! The space isn't very big so you need to make a reservation or come during off-peak hours if you want a table. The service is quick and the staff is friendly. You order your food at the counter and then it's brought out to your table. I had the Texan sandwich and it was so good. The brisket was tender and flavorful. It could've used more sauce, but I added a little bbq sauce and it was perfect. The Mac 'N cheese, potato salad and cornbread were the best sides. Honestly can't go wrong with anything you order here. Definitely the best bbq I've had in Westchester!

Good place for family/kids, food was great with the exception of the Cornbread. You have to try the Burnt Ends and Kale n slaw.

Not a large establishment and it's street parking ir walk to the lot. Their chicken and waffles are delicious so are all their bbq items great place to enjoy southern comforts.

Would not go anywhere else for our Barbecued Ribs! The Mac n Cheese... indulgent! Will have to try their Brisket but having a hard time letting go of those finger licking ribs!!!!

Thursday October 3, 2024 I found myself inside of the Pik Nik... It was an evening out with friends and seeing a concert at the Music Hall. You know what they say, when you have a bad experience with a restaurant, it probably might be near the end? Hmmmm.... I ordered Beef Brisket, and for about $20 I received two slices of brisket, cut in half making 4 pieces on the plate. The potato salad was extra (kinda sloppy creamy mess) and one beer.. about $45 I begged for the beer that I paid for, because the lady at the cash register couldn't keep up with new customers, and taking care of previous orders. They seriously need a back of bar expediter. I was half done with my food before the beer was delivered. Then leaving the other half behind. Will I return, probably not. Seems to me, the past experiences were quite similar? GUYS, PUT YOUR ACT TOGETHER AND LETS SEE IF YOU CAN GET ME BACK? (or not?)

Really great bbq flavor! I had one of the sandwiches (I believe it was brisket). The smokiness and tenderness of the meat was great! It was a little dry, and would've paired well with a little BBQ sauce on top. (Not a deal breaker but would've really put the sandwich over the top.) It came with light mustard). I ordered collard greens as a side. The greens were cooked well, but the flavor reminded me of vegetable soup. Generally, it was a tasty meal. I would return and try other things on the menu as well.

The place is really slipping. Maybe employ another person to help out with the back bar area? Both and only two draft beers were completely empty. Leaving beer choices to the refrigerator, singles. Don't plan to eat on a budget, because the meal with one side was over $28 plus beverage. The meat portion was quite small with only two slices of brisket cut in half. $19.99... the girl at the cash register was over whelmed when she couldn't keep up.

Great food! We had fried chicken, ribs, Mac & cheese and cornbread, all great. Better for take out. There were about 4 tables and it was super hot in the summer with the all the cooking in the kitchen.

I love Pik Nik. I ordered the BBQ chicken basket with the kale and apple slaw and Mac and cheese. The food was terrific. The kale and apple slaw was the best I've had. They also have a pretty decent house sangria. The good came out pretty quickly, and everyone in the restaurant was nice and friendly. I'll eat there again if I'm ever in Tarry Town.

After a long four plus hour drive to Tarrytown for business I looked up local restaurants and thought to myself, can't go wrong with bbq! I ordered the fried free chicken sandwich (no tarter sauce), 1/2 lb of brisket and bread pudding. Food is never great to go so the scale varies but the brisket was good (bbq sauce may not be for everyone, very distinct), chicken sandwich was good (chipotle sauce may not be for everyone, very distinct) and the bread pudding was too wet for me. I wish I saw the specials before ordering but overall I would def give another try or recommend to non locals. Service was outstanding as well.

PikNik is Tarrytown's resident BBQ restaurant, and unlike most northern BBQ places it doesn't disappoint. They smoke everything fresh everyday and it shows. It's just a small place more oriented towards takeout, although there are a few tables. Service has always been friendly and also prompt in terms of takeout. Prices are a little high for my taste, but hey that's Tarrytown. Pulled pork was great; full of smoky flavor and with a generous portion. Brisket and ribs are almost must-haves, as is the chicken wings (Carolina Mustard) according to my wife. Burnt ends were just ok--on the fatty side as they weren't burnt enough (ironic). BBQ isn't a revelation but it is solid. In terms of sides, mac and cheese, collard greens (non-traditional), pickles and potato salad are the best bets. Cole slaw and fries are solid too. Cornbread is just alright as it's on the greasy side; not sure why they pre-slather it with butter. Similar goes for the sweet potato wedges, which are good but don't need the honey they're covered with. Brussel sprouts were nasty the one time I got them. Great to have high quality barbeque nearby. Getting hungry just reading this.

8/8/24 Manager is rude! Order was wrong called and let them know and somehow I was getting a lecture about honesty. Unbelievable not everyone is out for a freebie! Order was wrong after my lecture I was then told I could get refund or make item over that lecture was completely unnecessary for $14 sandwich. Perhaps he needs a lecture in customer service. I will never be back!

The food is some of the best i've ever had at a barbecue place, specifically the brisket sandwich. Atmosphere is really welcoming and food is delicious.

With friends or family, this quaint establishment provides the atmosphere, food quality, and service worthy of multiples visits. Everyrime I eat here, I am reminded why this is my favorite place to eat in Tarrytown. While not a BBQ connoisseur myself, I have no doubt that any meat lover would have an amazing experience here. Be it brisket, ribs, pulled pork, or the variety of sides, there is guaranteed something here you will love.

Great food, AMAZING customer service, and decor was spot on!!! EVERYTHING we had was great! We can't wait to order again this week!!! Unfortunately, we inhaled it before taking any pictures!!

If you're in town, I would urge you to stop by for bbq. This spot is probably the best place in terms of food in the area. I ordered the ribs and they tasted flavorful and smoky. The best tasting ribs I've ever had. The meat fell right off the bone and had a nice buttery texture. Same with the pulled pork--best I've ever had. The sauces were a perfect compliment. I ordered French fries for the side and they're decent. The country biscuit is amazing and would recommend that. The baked beans and sausage are alright. The cornbread is mediocre. Customer service is decent and the food came out pretty fast. Highly highly recommend.

Drove all the way from Queens and they were not serving their signature meats. Ordered the brisket and burnt ends. These were probably the worst attempt at burnt ends. They basically cut thicker slices of the same brisket into chunks and called it a day. Hardly any smoke in the brisket like they cooked it in an oven. Service was great, the girls at the front were very helpful. The quaint decor added this bistro ambiance. Would not recommend.

Take a second to read my initial review. So as promised, I go back and despite the temptation to order the daily special of pastrami, I stick with my gut and order the ribs. Cut to the chase...these are some of the best ribs I've ever, REPEAT EVER, had. Meaty and oh so tender. You look at them the wrong way and the meat falls off the bone. And their homemade BBQ sauce is delicious! My buddy had the pastrami on a reuben and said it was great. BTW, everything included the russian dressing is made in house. I'll be back but I might get the ribs again!

Cute but very busy bbq joint in tarrytown, near sleepy hollow. They sell out often, so need to go here as your stop over. We went for early dinner (5pm) they were sold out on a lot of their meat items for that day already. Tried wings and pulled pork. Pulled pork was good, juicy and tender, but wing was way too sweet for our taste. Maybe have the sauce on the side. Their coleslaw is one of the freshest I've tasted, not soggy and drenched in sugar type, but crispy and seasoned just enough. Sweet potato wedges are also really good. Must go spot.

Candidly, this place is a pleasant surprise. You don't know exactly how good the food could be until you come and taste it. I ordered the ribs and I have to say after eating at a bunch of BBQ places, this is really one of the best. They provide you with some sauces to go along with your food. Try the pulled pork if you come here or the ribs. Both are fabulous. I will come back. This place does get a bit busy so get here early.

This restaurant feels cramped. Moreover, sitting near their heat lamp is not enjoyable, especially on a hot day. The food is ordered at a counter, which is fine by me, and common at bbq restaurants. While the meats are selected by weight (as they should be), this restaurant is too inflexible on how you can order. For example, they offer lean or fattier brisket or "in between" by the 1/2 pound. I asked for 1/4 pound of lean and 1/4 pound of fattier. But I was told I cannot do that. The young lady at the counter was curt about it too. I then asked for the "in between" and was told they aren't serving that right now. So...I begrudgingly went with 1/2 pound fattier, which is the marbly point of the brisket. I'm guessing they don't slice to order, which is a no-no in my book of brisket. This probably accounts for why one can only order by the 1/2 pound. Also, I prefer standard pencil thick slices of brisket neatly presented overlapping on a tray. Pik Nik served it as if it was carved up by a spoon. They also put a Korean twist on it all with sliced ginger and pickled onion. But the latter is inventive, and I liked this international touch. And in truth, the brisket was tastier than it looked, so this was an obvious plus. It had a nice bark. It was also moist and seasoned well. The pulled pork was a little dry but "okay" overall. The mac n cheese was surprisingly excellent. I was unable to sample the ribs because they were sold out, which I cannot fault them for late in the day. I did see some ribs on other tables though. Unfortunately, they looked quite dry and overcooked. However, because I didn't eat them, I will give them the benefit of the doubt. All in all, Pik Nik is a decent and satisfactory restaurant, at least for Northern BBQ. It's better for takeout though. I would also not consider this a destination place. Still, if you're in the area, you may enjoy it.

My husband and I never went to Tarrytown so it was our very first time eating at a place that sells BBQ. The place is tiny but very cozy, with the strong smell of different kinds of meats that waver in the air as soon as you enter. The prices were very good, especially for how filling the 1/2 lb meats you can choose from. I ordered the Ribs box which included two sides and my husband ordered the Brisket. The sides we chose were the Mac n' Cheese (HIGHLY recommend as it was cooked to perfection with a delicious crust on top), homemade pickles (has some spice which made it refreshing), potato salad and homemade cornbread. For dessert, the staff informed us of banana pudding which we absolutely enjoyed. 10/10 recommendation if you ever want some delicious BBQ. We will be coming back again in the future! :)

This is a quickie. I tried their 24.00 sampler and if this is what's in store: YASS! Real BBQ. What took me so long to try??????? ribs, brisket, love! Will update when so have more time to try full meals! So far: YUM

I would say the bbq here is okay. I feel like everything was overly salty and the bbq sauce wasn't as rich and full of flavor as it should be for a bbq joint. I will say that the brisket was so tender, and I ordered the lean option, so I can only imagine how the medium and full fat one would be.

Went to this restaurant the other night and it was a calm evening. The service was really fast and efficient and the food was good except the chicken. My favorite thing we ate was the ribs and the sweet potato wedges. The chicken was meh.

First time visiting Pik Nik: Ordered a variety of take out food, enough for two (2) nights: 1) 1/4 rack of St Louis Ribs - four big ribs, super tender with just the right balance of spice and sweet. There BBQ sauce on the side is great for dipping. Only improvement was to make the ribs crispier, so they have a little more teeth Crunch when you go in - bargain at $8.50 2) Fried Chicken Bucket- excellent honey batter fried chicken, tender, 5 pieces in a cool retro bucket for $14.99. Needs more crispy for the bite- threw it in a 400 degree oven at home for 10 minutes- then it gets a 5 star perfect rating 3) Pik Nik PLT - it is very hard to find a true to recipe Porchetta in NYC area. Pik-Nik is true Porchetta - Rolled with crispy pork skin, rosemary and fennel. The carmelized bacon, avocado and lettuce and tomato added to the sandwich, but were minor bit players to staring pork roll. Unfortunately, the roll needs replacement- it fell apart under the stress of this great sandwich 4) French fries/ first the good news - a single serve fry ($3.75) will easily feed two people. Such potential- I tasted one when they first gave me the takeout bag and it was hot, but limp. Here again, I applied my 400 degree oven at home - all is forgiven, very tasty fresh cut fries. Friendly service, nice take out shopping bag and extra napkins ( you will need them) and sauce. Will examine the draft beer next time I come. Hopefully- it is ice cold, in chilled glasses and not too expensive.

Wouldn't know how the food is considering they were completely out of everything by 7:30 on a Saturday. Service, sucks. Had to ask for a chair. You order your own food. Three tables inside. Complete fire hazard, can't get out if you are sitting on the window bench. Don't bother.

Ordered. PlT (pork belly), brisket sandwich, ribs and Mac and cheese. Everything is delicious. Ribs fall off the bone and so tasty. Brisket is yummy. Pork belly just melt in my mouth. Can't decide which taste best. Will definitely come back!

Out of about 50 barbecue spots I've been to this one is probably in my top 3. The ribs and the fried chicken are my personal favorites! I hope to visit again very soon.

I don't claim to know BBQ, but I know GOOD. This shi* is the real deal. They were out of stuff that I wanted which tells me they sold out, and reinforces that these folks DO throw down. I ordered the Burnt Ends (which don't taste burnt AT ALL.) and any cook knows is the best part ... But, we eat it in the kitchen because it don't look too appetizing. Pik-Nik tho', serves up the burnt ends in quite a yummily appealing manner. These triangular chunks of moist almost crisp, beefy juicy love are not for the gen-pop because it WILL increase your HDL and LDL. I ate them in the car with my hands and have the greasy steering wheel to prove it. Next time I'll be sure to have Pik-Nik pack me a napkin. The homemade PICKLES! are a perfectly sweet sour and spicy complement to the meat and superior MAC n CHEESE. The cornbread is made with mostly cornmeal. Dense and not too sweet: not your typical, but I believe is authentic. I used the bathroom while waiting for my order. It was pretty SPOTLESS. Can't wait to try the other stuff they serve up. Fire up them pits cause I'LL BE BACK!

I was first altered to Pik Nik BBQ some time ago through my brother. While I can take or leave BBQ and Southern food in general, I'm always looking for new places to try and to support local businesses - so I made it my intention to check this place out. I got that opportunity the other day when my brother chose to takeout from Pik Nik for his birthday dinner. Pik Nik sits on Main Street, nestled among a number of other businesses in the main commercial hub of Tarrytown. Because of COVID-19, they are mostly doing takeout - though I did notice a couple of tables set up for outdoor dining. They're doing all ordering and pickups at the door, but from what I could see the inside is small - hence indoor dining wouldn't really be feasible for them. The menu has a nice selection - lots of meats to choose from as well as a good variety of sides. I noticed that they had "boxes" which included a protein and choice of two sides. That seemed to make the most sense for us to order, so I decided on their pulled pork box and chose sides of cucumber with fennel and potato salad with bacon. We called early in the afternoon and gave them a pickup time later on which worked out great. The pulled pork was really tasty - they gave a generous portion and was seasoned well. I've found that pulled pork can be dry at times, but I did not find that at all here. The sides were also good - the potato salad had a cream base but wasn't gloppy; the potatoes remained intact and the bacon was the icing on the cake. The cucumber with fennel was a nice contrast to the potato salad and added a sharp, fresh taste to the box. We also ordered some cornbread and mac & cheese to share. The cornbread was pretty good and had a nice sweetness to it. The mac & cheese was nice and creamy with sharp, almost mild heat element to it. Service was great - the food was ready at the promised time and everything was packed neatly. Overall, I enjoyed my meal at Pik Nik BBQ; they provide an expansive menu with great service, and really deliver the goods as a whole. While I never really crave BBQ, I would definitely return here if I get an inkling for it.

The ribs were great. Menu is limited. My only advice is to request no mustard with your ribs- that is of course, if you don't like mustard with your ribs. They hide it under the ribs, so it gets on them and you've eaten half the rack before you get to the tainted ones.

Ate here for lunch recently with my family and in-laws who are from south and used to good bbq. They said their pulled pork sandwiches were just about the best they ever had. The pulled pork was so tender i thought it was brisket at first, then i ate my brisket sandwich and mac and cheese and was very satisfied. Ive had take out from here 4-5 times with mixed results. 5 stars dine in and 4 stars to go!

OK start with oh my goodness where did I just taste the best very best and I haven't even added a sauce and by the way, there are many I love mine plain just give me the most delicious slab of deliciousness. Oh yeah that's my word for meat. That's been cooked overnight brisket. Oh my goodness I just can't say enough about how yummy this is my very favorite meat and I really don't eat a lot of meat but I cannot resist how yummy how fresh how delicious this can be offered up sometimes on a wonderful board accompanied by now get this so many side dishes to choose from, of course I like mine with a little vinegar. Yes, yes yes and yes, this is the only place and by the way, they really know how to host a party. All food comes in heated containers never ever for one moment. Do you think it's takeout it says if you're in the restaurant and they put it on your table, this is my go to when having family and friends over when hosting a get together you cannot resist amazing this all tastes in your own home.

Super delicious BBQ with innovative flavors, friendly staff, and mouthwatering sides. Come hungry and leave loosening your belt. Slow and Low and worth the trip!

Finally, GREAT BBQ in Westchester! My boyfriend and I went the other weekend for the first time. We were desperately seeking good bbq on a hot day. We've tried a few places in lower Westchester and have been underwhelmed but the pics on the PikNik Instagram page inspired us. We were so happy with the food that we bought another order to go and I returned the next day with my parents so they could try the food too! The good: oooh there's a lot of good here. We loved their wings which we had plain, jerk and BBQ. Even the plain had great flavoring from the smoker and dry rub. The sauces just enhanced that. We also enjoyed the brisket which was his favorite. Pik Nik offers a choice of lean, marbled or in between and we had the in between which was PERFECT. Ugh. Usually the lean is kinda like wood and the marbled is delish but very fatty. In between was chef's My parents had ribs the next day and loved it. My dad, who is originally from South Carolina and loves baked beans, basically just took the whole order for himself. He loved them. The bad: I don't know if I'd call them bad but we were not a fan of the collard greens. Hard pass. The ugly: nothing really. I wish the restaurant were larger/ had more seating but I don't know if they get enough patronage for that which is unfortunate. Final word? the place is a gem if you like BBQ. Period.

At least in my experience, when it comes to BBQ, you get what you pay for. But sometimes you just pay too much and get a bad product. Pik Nik was absolutely fabulous. I ordered the burnt ends. Tender yet crusted and just the right amount of fat. These guys know how to choose the meat and then cook it so the flavors shine. Yes, it is a bit on the expensive side but man is it worth it.

The brisket was delicious. Melted in my mouth like butter. I had it with the collards and mac and cheese. I had no complaints. PS: There are carrots in the collards‍

I hate to brag on a new place but.. Tristate area typically disappoints in Texas style Q. Not this place. The brisket was mouth watering good! Ribs falling off the bone. Sides the best! All for a reasonable price.

A storefront restaurant on Main Street in downtown Tarrytown. Very nice menu with a wide variety. I tried The Texan, sliced hickory smoked Brisket with pickles, very good with lots of flavor. I also had a side of Baked Beans w/ Sausage, sauce was thin and watery. My wife ordered the Brisket w Mac 'n Cheese, a special of the day. very good but on the spicy side. Surprised to get good BBQ outside of the South.

From the two platters we ordered, mine was the better. Rib platter with two sides cost $23.99. The ribs were fall off the bone and had a nice smoke ring and were meaty. Flavor was ok. The side of potato salad was quite good, Mac & cheese had a good top. I asked for pickles and the cashier/waitress was nice enough to give me several at no charge. My husband had the beef brisket platter ($21.99) and as you can see from the photo some of the meat was chopped and other pieces were in slices. It was a mess. We weren't ask how he wanted it and there was no option on the menu for a choice of how to get it cut. Unfortunate ..as meat had the bark-look but most of it was dry and void of flavor.. especially the chopped pieces. He had the mac & cheese which was good because the top was nice and crunchy but once you got to the inside it was watery. His beans were heavy on the vinegar. I choked when I tasted it and I like vinegar but it was too much. The place is tight, with several tables outside on the sidewalk and if memories serves me 4 or 5 tables with chairs inside and then along the wall was 4 or 5 high tops with swivel stools. We opted for the regular tables as the chairs had support where the stools did not. When we arrived the door was open. There was a small floor fan somewhat cooling me off but my husband who is slim was very warm. It's in the high 80s today and very sunny. They needed to close the door and turn up the a/c to make the customers more comfortable. . If I could give half star for us this truly was a 2 1/2 star meal. The brisket was dry and beans too vinegary. The bread pudding we brought home and heated in the microwave was very good. I'd buy that again.

I'm not gonna lie..... I'm not the least bit obsessed with BBQ joints- it's not in my DNA. But hubby had just finished getting his haircut over at Sebastian's Barber Shop In Tarrytown and afterwards, noticed Pik Nik then decided on a take out order. (By the way...this is all info my non-Yelper hubby fed me). Story goes though, Hassan Jarane who owns Mint Premium Foods (which I love)- also owns Pik Nik. So I guess it's no surprise, menu here- also has that unique and classy touch. But this much I do know- I've personally driven by Pik Nik and it's perfectly located almost right in the middle of busy Tarrytown's Main Street. Based on hubby's pics, Pik Nik does look cute. He thought the Rustic design made him feel like he was somewhere in Kentucky- but with a really cool Art Deco vibe. Hubby enjoyed the Corn Bread and Broccoli Slaw he brought home. He also liked the St. Louis Ribs with sauce on the side- but felt they would've tasted way better, if ribs were already made with BBQ sauce to give them a caramelized touch. As for me? Hubby did right and made sure to ask the folks at Pik Nik whether or not my Veggie options had any pancetta, bacon, etc. in them. Sure enough- they didn't. However, the Kale+Cucumber+Apple Salad was indeed unique- but I thought it was a bit sweet. Fava Beans had a real nice spice and heat- but they too, were a bit too sweet for my liking. Now that I know what I know- Pik Nik is unlike any BBQ spot you see in NYC (or even Westchester). I know for sure my husband will return. And who knows....maybe I will too- for their other Vegan or Vegetarian options......even their Desserts.
