"Founded in 2013, Astoria’s Pilot House is an infant by Kentucky bourbon or Scotch standards, but positively mature measured by Oregon’s youthful distillery scene. Pilot House’s nautical-themed offerings include a tequila-style agave spirit, both American-style and London-style gins, an absinthe (wormwood included), and a single malt whiskey with each barrel “ocean aged” on a fishing boat. Take that, Kentucky. Portland tasting room and bottle shop hours vary, so calling ahead is recommended. Or swing by the more expansive Astoria or Cannon Beach tasting rooms open daily." - Adam Sawyer, Nathan Williams

Amazing and fun tasting experience! Tried the gins which were excellent (especially the barrel aged gin which is something I haven't seen before) as well as a few unique flavor infusions like chai vodka. Safe and comfortable tasting room with great local art, and a wonderfully kind owner who shares the passion she and get husband have for the craft of distilling with anyone who is interested. The taste, care, and attention to detail with their products is great!

A friend suggested this spot for the Painted Lady gin, and it was well worth the visit. Chase was amazing help during my stop. The Zaragoza Old Fashioned is def a great pick, a fun twist on the classic. Left with 3 bottles and hope to see them deliver to California soon

Recently, my boyfriend and I made it in to taste at Pilot House Distilling with Mike. What a treat! We had the place to ourselves on a Thursday afternoon and Mike was so gracious and knowledgeable. We tasted through several spirits, including the barrel-aged gin and several of the whiskeys. Wowzers. They all were so good! I wound up taking home a bottle of the Oregon Single Malt Whiskey, which is ocean aged! And yes, there is a distinctive salty note on this whiskey that I absolutely love! Thank you, Mike, for a fantastic experience. We shall return!

Walked in today and the gentleman behind the counter welcomed us warmly! He took the time to explain the entire product offering because we can't taste right now. really helpful picking out what we wanted to try, and when we were done he was happy to talk about the general Portland's distilling scene and recommended some other places to check out.

Post Covid review This is a very cool place. You can buy a variety of whiskey and gin and other hard liquor and cool pre made drinks I got the mule and it had a nice ginger kick. Also can get bouy beer too they are owned by the same company in Astoria. Prices are the same for liquor throughout Oregon so save yourself a trip to the skanky store and come here instead and you can also taste them. I got their barrel aged gin and I am sipping it.

Great place for beer/wine/liquor tasting! We had beers from Buoy brewing. Nice atmosphere inside and dog friendly! We had a great time talking with the two bartenders there.

First time in, only two other people inside. Bartender said he would be with us when he could. Ten minutes later, after no service, we left. Do better.

Fantastic spirits and a great atmosphere. Zack was awesome and very informative about the products. I highly recommend if you're in the area, stop in and enjoy.

Yelp
You Really need to go to Pilot House Distilling. The people here are lovely. They are welcoming and they have a great personality. They have bourbon, gin, rum and vodka!! They distill they own stuff. And best of all they have tastings. The price for the tasting are 3/1oz pours of the liquor of your choice for $12.00. Which is great. Husband and I split a tasting. Go and have fun and hang out a bit as the place and the people have a fun personality. We sat at the bar but they also have tables and can do private classes.

Yelp
What's up: Kicking off our tour of Portland, we're hitting up this place as our first stop in their Distillery Row tour. We recently got food at Matt's BBQ across the street too! Parking: Street parking all around the area. You might need to walk a bit since the surrounding area was busy. Environment: It was empty when we entered. A staff member greeted us at the bar and when we asked about the Distillery Row Passport, they had one left. Score! We ordered a flight of tasters and picked a few to taste as well as picked one based on the staff member's recommendation. He also brought over some glasses of water to our table. Plenty of seating available from counter top seating to couches. The only annoyance was that there were little flies that kept coming after our drinks. What was ordered: - Flight (3 tastings) - Distillery Row Passport (for $25, you'll get a passport of distilleries and discounts. Get them stamped off and receive a gift at the end) - A bottle of the Anejo tequila Yay/Nay/Meh: Yay. We were able to kick off our distillery tour. The drinks were decent and we were pleasantly surprised by the Anejo; we even grabbed a bottle to take home. Credit cards are accepted.

Yelp
I stopped by for a flight after doing some laundry. It was super fun! Mike and Zoey were super friendly and had lots of great tips about things to try based on my palate. Everything I had was super tasty. The space was super comfy and had lots of fun books. I will have to come back some time to try their other drinks. Note they don't have any ice, but they provide plentiful water droplets for helping the spirits open up.

Yelp
I'm skeptical to leave this review as Pilot House Distilling is the best kept secret on Mississippi, or at least for me. I recently began going to PHD and have enjoyed the amazing selection of spirits and beer. Zoë is my staff favorite, always so knowledgeable and great company which is the main reason I keep coming back. I love the chats and how comfortable Zoë makes the environment. If you get a chance I would highly recommend this establishment.
