We visited this place on a weekend in the afternoon. The crowd was less and thus the entry was quick. This is my first time visiting and looking at fighter planes this close. I was super pumped up. The hangars lives to its expectations. There is good information available. It takes a lot of time to go through all of them. The outside planes are, well, pretty much just iron and steel sheets and nothing else. I wish they maintained them and allowed for an entry.

Google
Huge air museum! At least 5 buildings stuffed with aircraft, plus many more on the outside pavement. Good placard descriptions, plus volunteers offering information on the displays. B17, B24, B25, and B29 were stars amongst many others. Plentiful bathrooms and water fountains, there appeared to be a cafe though I didn't go in, and of course a gift shop. Huge facility!

Google
The museum was really neat with all the retired planes and gear, weapons and uniforms. The place was clean and there were a few simulating photo ops. We went as a field trip, the only thing that took a star off was we weren't offered maps so we just kinda free roamed. There wasn't a lot of interactive options for kids (like audios). Lastly, there should be water fill up stations, we were all out of waters. We still had a good time.

Went to the museum with my 4 and 8 year old and their grandparents. We recommend for folks with some mobility limitations that you should consider prepurchasing team tickets since the day we went which was weekday after Christmas was very busy and the tram was sold out for 2 hours for our group. We also did not bring a stroller and regretted that decision. There are I believe 5 hangers with indoor viewing of aircraft but a large outdoor space as well. There is a cafeteria although we did not eat here and a very small playground. Restrooms were plentiful. It seemed difficult for people in wheelchairs to get up and down the dual levels. I watched a family go up and have to wait to get down as there wasn't an elevator just a staff operated wheelchair lift. My 4 year old was maybe just a bit too young for the museum. He was interested but lost attention quickly. 8 year old appreciated it a lot more.

Jan. 2025 - We went primarily to see the B17 as well as many of the other WWII aircraft, which were all great, but I was also amazed at the collection of military jets, the helicopters and the other assorted planes. The museum is dog friendly (and strongly discourage anyone from leaving a pet in a vehicle.) We spent about 4 hours, going from hanger to hanger, and back again if a special talk was presented at a particular time. We also strolled the outdoor areas, amazed at the overall collection.

Google
I went on a Sunday . There was one other person in front of us in line to buy tickets There were a few cars out side but once you're walking around seems like very little people.its very open so there was plenty of space to move around,so it was not busy at all.perfect for strollers and wheelchair access, and some are hands on/photo opportunities. Outside is all dirt,so I would suggest if you're walking it to wear comfy closed shoes, esp when it's windy out . My kids always like coming here and can't wait for the military section of it when it opens.

Google
We enjoyed our visit here. There were many more aircraft than expected. We enjoyed seeing several Rutan designs as well as a row of 747. There was a building dedicated to a B17. We were very privileged to see a 101 year old WW 2 vet who was giving live presentations! He was still very sharp. God bless him! Wow!

Google
Loved the tram tour! The guide was extremely knowledgeable and let us board early. We took a ton of photos. The Flight Grill has a huge selection of amazing food. It was easy for me to pick out lunch, even for my restricted diet!

Yelp
Pima Air & Space Museum in Tucson, Arizona, is a great place for anyone who loves airplanes and history. The museum has over 400 aircraft, including almost all generations of passenger planes. You can see how commercial planes have changed over time, from early models to modern ones like the Boeing 787 Dreamliner. Other highlights include presidential planes, the F-4 Phantom from the Thunderbirds, the Blue Angels' F/A-18 Hornet, Soviet jets, WWII bombers, and the SR-71 Blackbird. The exhibits are well-organized and full of interesting details. The guided tram tour is a great way to learn more about the planes and their history. The museum is big, so plan to spend a few hours exploring. There's free parking, a kids' area, and a café for snacks. Whether you're into military jets, passenger planes, or presidential aircraft, Pima Air & Space Museum is a fun and educational place to visit.

Yelp
Excellent museum with indoor / outdoor exhibits. Should take HOURS to do it all....this is a GOOD thing to do.

Yelp
If you have any interest at all in aviation or aviation history, then you absolutely must visit Pima Air & Space Museum. I came here alone and easily spent 4 hours wandering around and checking out each and every aircraft on display. This was a fascinating experience and I was wowed with every turn. I decided not to do the tram ride because I didn't want to "rush" through seeing the aircrafts on display outside and rather spend my time looking at them more closely. If you have mobility issues or simply don't want to walk around the vast space, the tram would be a great option and I'm sure they share a lot of information you wouldn't learn otherwise. I would consider it next time.

Yelp
I have been to Tucson numerous times over the last 18 years but I had never made it to PASM. I am glad that I finally checked it out The place is huge with over 80 acres of planes and memorabilia. Admission fee is $22.50 for an adult under 65, non military. Admission Fee Includes The Main Hangar (3 hangars combined into 1: Hangar 1, Spirit of Freedom, & Flight Central) 3 World War II Hangars (Hangars 3, 4 & 5) The Dorothy Finley Aerospace Gallery The Arizona Aviation Hall of Fame 80-acre outdoor display grounds Collection of 400+ aircraft and 125,000+ artifacts Access to eat at the Flight Grill There is also the 390th Memorial Museum (a separate museum on the grounds). There is not really a fee to get into that but they do ask you to give a donation or buy items there since they rely on the donations and sale of souvenirs, etc. That was definitely a favorite and highlight for me. They have a full size B-17 plane in there, along with tons of information, pictures, memorabilia, etc. They have some amazing docents, who really want to talk and tell you the stories. They have no problem approaching you and trying to talk to you. I enjoyed watching some of the movies, newsreel footage, and looking at all the pictures. I am watching Master of the Air on Apple TV which is all about B17 bombers and their crews and it totally correlates with this museum. This place is massive, and we were there for 3 hours, moving at a fast pace, and did not see everything. So definitely plan your visit accordingly. There is a tram if you can't walk the grounds, or need to move faster. There is an extra fee for the tram.

Yelp
Hubby originally wanted to check out the famous Boneyard (AMARG), a large, open-air parking garage that stores retired aircraft in dry climates to prevent corrosion. In a search for other interesting military-related museums, we came across the Pima Air & Space Museum. It is one of the world's largest aerospace museums, offering an awe-inspiring journey through aviation history. Hubby is a 20 year active duty United States Army veteran retired & he loved it! Pima's collection is diverse, ranging from the Wright Flyer replica & vintage biplanes to Cold War-era jets & modern military aircraft. Highlights include the legendary SR-71 Blackbird, a sleek reconnaissance jet capable of flying faster than a bullet & the massive B-52 Stratofortress, which dominates the outdoor displays. It also houses rare gems like the Convair B-36 "Peacemaker", one of the largest piston-engine bombers ever built. The Museum is home to the 390th Memorial Museum, a sobering tribute to the men & women who served in the U.S. Army Air Forces' 390th Bombardment Group during WWII. A special shoutout to the docents! Hubby spent time with several discussing the B-17 Flying Fortress, military history & their service to our country. Wear comfortable shoes & bring a water bottle! Pima is spread across 80 acres & features over 400 aircraft & spacecraft from every era of flight. We spent a solid four hours & could have spent more time walking around & taking in the history.

Yelp
We spent the better part of the day in this museum, it's a great place to reflect. I've been here before, maybe 10 years ago and they have greatly improved this museum! We also took the tram ride and I'd recommend doing that. Especially on a hot Tucson day. You ride around with a tour guide that gives talks on selected aircraft and/or models. There are a number of restored planes to look at inside and a ton of planes outside to walk around. And from all branches of the service and some from private industry. It's an excellent aircraft museum. I'd recommend it!
google avatar

Jessica P.

Yelp
This place is such a cool Tucson gem. I've never seen so many historical planes before in one place. I love that they had people ready to provide information on the planes and the history as you walked through it. There are multiple indoor areas and a large outdoor area all filled with aircraft. We had such a great time reading about the different aircraft and seeing them in all their glory up close. Definitely recommend!

Yelp
We were melting in the 111 degree AZ heat and were desperate to hang out in a place with AC. We thought Pima Air and Space Museum would be great to just do that and check out the museum too. LOL...only AFTER we purchased our tickets did the young lady inform us that there is no AC in the hangars! We felt a little duped...could that have been mentioned beforehand? I strategically sheltered under the huge fans in every hangar while the fiancé explored. He seemed to have a grand ol' time. There is quite an impressive display of planes, missiles, etc. We were bummed there was no access to the bone yard. FYI: The only AC is in the food court and gift shop. 19.50 per adult

Yelp
This is one of the coolest museums in Tucson and a must visit. My family and I love going at least once a year. This place is huge so I would recommend planning a full day here from open to close. They have so many historical and awesome planes and artifacts here both indoors and outdoors. I am blown away every time we come here and they just keep adding more to their already amazing collection. Definitely add this to your Tucson to-do list!
google avatar

Marc L.

Yelp
If you are in to planes and history you will not be disappointed. Pima has been on my list of places to visit for more than a decade and I finally got a chance to visit thanks to my Dear Friends who made it happen. The hangers are wonderful. I love seeing my favorites. F14, F4, F15, F104, Super Guppy oh man the list goes on. Hydrate you are in the desert, shade your eyes and make sure you have enough battery life for pictures.

Yelp
Wow!! What a fun experience!! Definitely going to be doing this again in the future. So many aircraft from older to newer generations. Got to meet and talk to veterans, which was very humbling. We went in the summer, took the tram and it was well worth the extra price. But in cooler weather it would be amazing to walk around. Plus it's dog friendly
google avatar

Erin E.

Yelp
This is a must see if you're visiting Tucson. As a local, I've been several times. There's a small playground for the young kids if they need a bit of stimulation. There's a food court, as well. Lots to do. If you're interested in history, you could take the whole day. The hangers can be very warm in the summer months, so bring lots of water. Enjoy it!
google avatar

Stacia W.

Yelp
This is one of the best attractions in Tucson! The staff and volunteers are exceptional. The 101 year old veteran of WWII signing books and telling stories was a memory for a lifetime! Highly recommend!
google avatar

Yelp
Pima ranks as one of the top three airplane museums in the US. For space, it's not so impressive although it has a few interesting displays. - extensive collection of military aircraft from the Cold War era, including some Soviet planes - decent collection of WWII era planes - lots of helicopters - some interesting civilian planes including a few you might not expect such as a 787 Dreamliner and the NASA SOFIA 747 - I think the outside yard is the place to spend most of your time. It will take a while. The inside (hangar) displays are impressive as well.
google avatar

Bill D.

Yelp
This is a great, privately funded air museum that has some great displays and aircraft, and many rare ones at that. I spent 3.5 hours there and if it were a bit cooler out, could have spent about another hour there, so if you like aircraft and history, plan on spending some time there. I do feel it would be nice to offer, for a fee even, the opportunity to go inside some of the aircraft (talk about a great way to raise money).
google avatar

Stephany M.

Yelp
Bring water and comfortable shoes! Came here with the hubby and our 3 dogs. Thought we were going to be here for an hr or so. We stayed 3.5 hrs! There are 5 hangars. Each hangar has AC but would say you'd spend more time outside as there are more planes out there. The new 390th year museum is the only hangar that had a dog bowl for the doggies to get water. We went early Jan and although nice weather, it does get pretty hot walking outside. They have tram options at certain times but we had the doggies. They have a grill here where you can get snacks and a drink to walk around. They also have a gift shop at the end which has a ton of options, from shirts to legos to magnets. Great place to visit if in the area!
google avatar

Casey S.

Yelp
This place is a dream come true! My son has done extensive research on the B-29 and the SR-71. His goal is to see as many of the remaining 22 B-29 in the United States and this was #2! The SR-71 is a sci-fi lovers dream, it doesn't even look real! We spent an amazing day checking out all the planes and helicopters. I do recommend that you eat before you go or wait until after. We waited 45 minutes for food and it was terrible but I'm not taking a star away for the food because this review is about the planes.
google avatar

Erika P.

Yelp
Driving by you have no idea how massive this museum really is. Between the yard itself and the multiple buildings- you could visit twice and not see everything. Taking the tram in the summer heat is a great idea, the buildings are cooled and have water bottle fill stations and they sell water as well. The Cafe looked cute but we had other plans. The gift shop also had a ton of items of varying price ranges which was great.
google avatar

Jeff O.

Yelp
Always a fun visit if you're out in Arizona. Love planes. The weather this time of year is great for walking around in, or you can carry a little umbrella with you. This place is great!
google avatar

Tina B.

Yelp
This was one of the coolest experiences ever! I love watching old war movies, especially WWII ones where you see these amazing planes in combat. It was surreal to actually see them in person. The history in this place was really touching. Reading about specific missions and historic events was really interesting to me. Part of it is inside and they have the larger planes outside. It's a pretty extensive collective and a lot of ground to cover. They have a gift shop if you're interested in memorabilia as well. It's $19.50 for a 1 day adult pass (non senior). If you go in the middle of summer during the day it will get hot walking around outside, so take that into consideration. In one of the hangars they also have some pretty cool exhibits, besides planes, with plaques to read historical information. They also have the boneyard nearby, but I didn't go to that lot. Overall 10/10.

Yelp
Please consider air conditioning. The end. Okay, just kidding. We just moved to Tucson from Utah, and we were excited to check this place out. DISCLAIMER: Hill Air Force Base in Utah has a FREE air space museum with air conditioning and heat that is incredible! So I'm biased! All in all, we enjoyed our visit here. I kind of felt rushed due to the heat though. I wish summer tickets were a little cheaper knowing that you're going to sweat your @$$ off and spend less time than you would in the cooler months. We looked at a lot of things but didn't take the time to read all the information. We spent about 2-2.5 hours which seemed to be less than quite a few people. Plus side is they allow your own water and they allow pets. They also have a cafe with drinks and popsicles (desperately needed today). It's a worth a visit!
google avatar

Talisa M.

Yelp
Entirely worth a visit to the Pima Air Space Museum. The amount of history, interactive spaces and displays is truly impressive to one's eyes. Such a variant amount of space and air vehicles on display! Since you'll be visiting on your own and taking it all in, I'll stick with some sharing some things that I feel are more supportive, and maybe to the parents more so. -No outside food or drink allowed in with the exception of water bottles. Food court inside with limited menu, no gluten free or dairy free or vegan friendly options. (Double check your food) -Plenty of bathrooms, familiarize yourself with them. Some are gender neutral most are individual and all have a bit of child supportive elements like stools or diaper changing stations. -If you go on a cold or rainy day, layer up. The hangars (large garages for planes) are not heated and most is outside. Outside can be very muddy. -Most drinks and snacks are candy and soda. -Plenty of interactive zones and kids play areas, the kids game area requires cash and coin only. -NO BAGPACKS. Diaper bag is an expectation but must have diapers. Our kids are older and we just had wipes and we had to put it back. -If your leaving and coming back in, get a hand stamp for re-entry. -Plan for a few hours -Eat before and bring snacks in the car That's all! Hope if you go you have fun

Yelp
I haven't been here since i was like maybe 8 & all I remember was the big planes but that's it. I wanted to visit it with my husband at the age of 31 and I absolutely loved rediscovering this Tucson Gem. My new favorite color is Desert Pink! What is this color you ask? Purchase the 8 dollar tram tour to find out. Highly suggest doing the tram tour it was well worth the 16 dollars! Don't skim on this experience! We can't wait to go back and see their new exhibition if military trucks. I would also say don't skip on the cafe the sandwiches were VERY GOOD! Highly recommend I will be going back!

Yelp
If you are at all interested or fascinated by planes then go to this Museum. It is highly under rated. Also don't believe the negative reviews don't know where they are coming from. The positive reviews are accurate Positives - there are.numerous shuttles through out the day and you don't have to get there at Open to get one. They last around 45 minutes and are informative - make it to hanger 4 and 5 - there is so much to see that many individuals get worn out in hanger 1-2. - you need 2 days to do this museum justice but one day or afternoon is enough to get a great experience - the staff is friendly and accommodating - you can bring your doggie! - fun to walk around outside and check out how huge some of these planes are or to get up close and personal with some of them. - great place for adults and kids - it's huge so there are large crowds but since it's huge you never feel crowded Negatives - don't plan to eat here - the cafeteria has too many options and it takes forever to get over priced mediocre food. Bring your own food or eat elsewhere. They have in/out hand stamp - it's not like many modern upgraded museums with out a ton of interactive displays. It's old school - which I like - but I do know many folks like their electronic screens and interactive displays and touchscreens. - it's a lot of walking - because there is so Much to see! Overall If you are in the Tucson area then go check this museum out - even if you only have a 1/2 day so spare. Well Worth it
google avatar

Jessica B.

Yelp
This is a great place! There is so much to see you could spend a whole day there. There's a tram tour which takes you around outside which lasts about 45 minutes and is highly recommended. Then there's different hangers to explore between aerospace, and other aviation types. The price for 2 adults was $55 (which included the tram tour for two). We will definitely come back when we have a full day to explore and see it all!
google avatar

Tatum R.

Yelp
We absolutely love visiting this museum, and I feel like I see new things every time because there is so much to take in! There are some interactive elements too which were fun to try, and all of the staff we interacted with were friendly and informative. I think this museum is a great spot for all ages and interest levels in aviation. You can definitely get a lot out of it if you want to stop and read or skim the surface by simply walking around and taking in the exhibits There are indoor and outdoor exhibits, so definitely bring some water, hats, and comfortable shoes because you'll most likely be wanting to walk around for a bit.
google avatar

James M.

Yelp
My Son is in the Aviation field and visited from Phoenix, he has been wanting to visit this museum for some time. He loved it, we spent hours here until it closed. Prepare for a lot of walking unless you pay a little extra for the Tram. I got over 10,000 steps in while enjoying all the exhibits. Make sure to bring bottled water, lot of sun while exploring the plane yard. Be sure to eat before going (snack bar was closed on our visit) and you will get hungry. Sun Screen is a must for fair skin folks. All the exhibits were well done, so much to see & if an Aviation enthusiast you will be in heaven. Definitely worth the visit for aviation fans or just the curious. There is a discount for Seniors (65 & over), but not one for Military which seemed strange being that a lot of the exhibits were part of military history.
google avatar

Bob M.

Yelp
Last time here was 30 years ago, the growth has been a big plus, more to see, its great, more to see and more to come with the upcoming military vehicle museum
google avatar

James B.

Yelp
I visited here for the first time recently with an out-of-town guest. Neither of us is a plane aficionado, but the exhibits were interesting all the same. We also had lunch at the museum restaurant, which is reasonably priced.
google avatar

David C.

Yelp
This is an incredible museum. You need a bare minimum of two hours here and I think 2.5 to 3 hours is about right.
google avatar

Jean M.

Yelp
Dog friendly! We had a fantastic day walking through the hangers, around the grounds, and especially seeing the B-17 with the most knowledgable and kind docents. Shaded parking is available, as are tram tours of the boneyard. Placards provide historical details on each displayed item. There is so much history--from WWI past Viet Nam, plus commercial and civil aviation, and some one-of-a-kind inventions. There is a rocket booster in front-special to me, as my dad worked on it.
google avatar

Roxanne B.

Yelp
$20 and well worth it!!! Give yourself at least 4 hrs if u love planes!!! There are 4 hangers and over 75 planes outside!!!! There is a B17 that is separate and worth your donations to keep it going, staff was very informative!!! There is a onsite restaurant that looked delicious
google avatar

John C.

Yelp
The only thing I didn't like was the extreme heat that day. :-) It was fun to see so many old and different types of planes from the USA and other countries. Wished we were able to board some of them and see the insides. Would recommend to go early in the morning before it gets over 100 degrees outside. This museum is a must see for anyone that loves the history of planes starting from the Wright Brother's.
google avatar

Ryan N.

Yelp
This place was awesome!!! Has so many planes and they are rare planes. To see the joy on my son's face was totally worth it!! Giving 4 stars. If you go in the summer, the hangers are not a reprieve to being outside, they are worse temp wise. Be prepared. Also, the cafe is not good. Really expensive for what you get. Taste was ok. Plan not to eat there. Go in the winter or spring months for max enjoyment
google avatar

Linda M.

Yelp
Disclaimer: this review is several years overdue but feel it's still relevant. I attended a private event here while on a business trip to Tuscan. It was in the evening and the museum was closed to the public so we had the whole place to ourselves. We wandered around outside for the first hour or so. Something about seeing all the planes at sunset made them even more spectacular. I was in line to go up inside the AirForce One used by Kennedy when they announced dinner was being served inside. Well there was no way was I going to get out of line for an experience I'd probably never have again! So I stayed and went through the plane, getting to see the place where JFK sat Funny how small that plane was compared to the huge planes now used for Air Force One! I've been to other air museums, most notably the National Air and Space Museum in Washington, but this was difference. Obviously smaller but wandering the tarmac was interesting. Definitely worth checking out. 2023-2

Yelp
Cool experience with Tram ride and 4.5 hour to walk the hangers. Worthwhile if you go on a mild weather day.. I did this 15 years ago in July and it was too hot to enjoy the outdoors parts . We stopped in onsite grill for coffee and a big cookie which was good. The B17 390th wing exhibits were extra neat.
google avatar

Ruthie R.

Yelp
A staple place in Tucson. If you're a plane afficionado, this would be heavenly. If not, it's definitely fun to look at the different types of planes and read about the history and look at the artifacts. You will spend a good hour or two walking around the big lot, going into the different warehouses, and discovering new planes and pieces of history. They even have a cool NASA space warehouse that has some cool replicas. There's also a kid room in that warehouse for smaller kids. You can take a tram if walking may seem too much and if you'd want more of a talking introduction tour. It is a cool place for kids and they seem to enjoy looking at all the cool planes and getting into some of the gadgets. You can even see some of the aircraft in the nearby base fly their planes over this area. It's fun watching jets do turns and such. Overall, it's definitely a Tucson staple and something everyone should do atleast once.

Yelp
I was fortunate to encounter docents Al Chaulk and Gerry Giordano on my recent visit to Pima Air and Space and they really made it all special for me and my guests. Al knew such obscure details like the amount of explosive in a 30mm cannon shell and how many heavy US bombers ditched in the North Sea and English Channel during the war. Gerry regaled us with lurid tales of his combat sorties in the skies of Vietnam. Pima Air and Space is very lucky to have these two outstanding volunteers! Kudos to both!
google avatar

Yelp
Easy to find and parking is covered which is nice. Entry was about $40 for us both and we added the outside tram ride for an additional $8 each. This is a must and seems to run every hour. Surprisingly they didn't take AAA or AARP but do offer a discount if you live in Pima county. We spent HOURS here and I still feel we didn't see nearly enough. When you enter the museum, you're surrounded by so many sights, info and history. It's a bit overwhelming but take your time and enjoy. There is a huge outside field with 100 planes (everything from JFK's Air Force One) to the first ever military medic helicopter. This is where the tram comes in. You have the option to walk around and read the placards in front of each plane or you can sit in a covered trolley and listen to the employee explain what exactly you're looking at. Both are good options, just different. There was an issue with the PA system on the trolley and the seats are meant for a small child, but we still enjoyed our time aboard. Behind the initial museum is another one, much smaller but just as cool! There is no charge to enter but donations are appreciated. The amount of historical information was vast and so interesting. Two stories of true American hero paraphernalia. They have plenty of volunteers to answer any and all questions and everyone we encountered was happy and helpful. We decided to stop for lunch in their cafe and to our surprise, the food was VERY good! I opted for a grilled chicken Caesar salad and the hubby ordered a grilled philly steak sandwich. He said it was one of the best he's enjoyed. The prices were quite reasonable which was appreciated. $32 for our lunch with his side of fries and a coke. I am a huge museum goer and give this place a solid A!

Yelp
Really great museum. Wonderful exhibits and really fun place to spend a couple of hours if your in Tucson. The tickets are bit pricey for an aviation museum. Veterans and Active Duty Military personnel get in for free, expect for the tour which is 8 dollars. I would avoid the tour it's underwhelming and lacks the nitty-gritty details if your any kind of aviation buff. But if your going walk around be warned it's a massive complex so bring water and pace yourself. Overall I really enjoyed my time here and have to say I'll be returning again next time I am in town.

Yelp
I'm usually not a big fan of "tourist" type attractions, but this place exceeded my expectations by a large factor!! As a former Marine who spent years working of aircraft (Mostly the A/6E Intruder), I am not very easily impressed with aircraft displays, but the shear scope of the museum and it's hundreds of aircraft succeeded if breaking the barrier... There are literally hundreds of aircraft available to see and touch. From experimental stuff to spacecraft, it is all here. We went on the tram ride (45 minute narrated tour) that almost seemed to be a letdown because we wanted to see and hear about so much more than what was covered. Don't get me wrong - the staff are amazing - but there is SO much to see, the tour would have to last 3-4 hours to begin to cover everything. Please schedule PLENTY of time to see this gem in the desert. Allowing only a few hours is going to lead to disappointment when you realize what you will have to miss. (Note: this almost exclusively an outdoor museum. During the summer - be prepared for early hours and possible extreme conditions)

Yelp
This place is awesome for the historical planes very old to too not so old. The tram ride was great. And informative People there live planes many are military retired pilots . Definitely worth the price. Our bucket list was checked off but will return as didn't have time to see every building Sadly the plane graveyard no longer has tours

Yelp
As a out of town visitor, you pay a little bit more than local residents, but that's okay. You enter into various large hangars that housed various aircraft (with signage and in some cases audio recording). Most hangars were not air conditioned, even though they had several giant fans from the ceiling. You walk from hangar to hangar in the museum to check out the planes, equipment, uniforms, etc. Some displays allowed you to sit in the cock pit or the back and touch. Outside were more real airplanes and other models to see but it was so hot that we just walked from building to building. Only the cafeteria was air conditioned! I think the videogames should be just 25cents or 50 cents for the kids as something to do, but that's just me.

Yelp
Super cool spot to visit with the family if you're into airplanes, space and US history. I loved the fighter from Top Gun (a similar model), the Blackbird spy plane and so many more. The scale of these machines was never clear to me and it was a real education. Informative displays and there is a guided tour on a tram if you're interested in even more insight into the displayed aircraft. Really nice facility with great amenities like an on-site grill and gift shop.

Yelp
This place is huge! There is a very large area outside with seemingly hundreds of planes. It's probably not that many, but my feet were tired by the end. The outside area is all gravel. If your kids need a stroller, you might want to stick to the inside hangars. All the inside areas were cooled. We got very hot trying to see everything outside. There is a tram that goes around the outside area but it was not running the day we went. It costs extra but I will definitely pay it to get the narrated tour. The signs describing the outdoor planes are minimally worded. The inside hangars (there are, I think, 7) are marvelous. They have planes on the floor and planes hanging overhead. There are signs giving the history of the plane manufacturing and usually a story about the pilot or the missions the plane flew. You could wander for a week's worth of mornings without being bored. The paths between hangars seemed to all be paved. We saw several stroller families and wheelchair users. The restaurant (more than a snack bar, they had real food) seemed OK. The gift shop was pretty good too. They had a lot of good designs for shirts. It wasn't too expensive for all you get to see. Pima County residents get a small discount.

Yelp
My husband and I took our grandkids to go see the beautiful aircraft collection the Pima Air & Space museum in Tucson Arizona have. Our grandkids and us had a great time seeing how well the museum displays all the airplanes. This is not a bone yard museum, this are actually aircraft's that have so much history. It's a must go see museum.

Yelp
Be ready to spend a few hours if you're thinking about visiting this super duper awesome place. Add a couple more hours to your original plan if you're also super into planes and choppers and you intend to read every single description and to watch every single video they have. Visiting this museum will require you to do a lot of walking so be ready for that. Also, put some sunscreen on yourself because when you're outside, it can get hot. Really hot. It is the desert after all and there's absolutely no covering outside. Bring an umbrella if you need to, but know that it could get pretty windy. The museum has multiple hangars where they have different aircrafts and you could easily spend an hour in each hangar. If you're like me who never really got up close and personal with different types of aircrafts (jet fighters, Hueys, Drones, etc) then you'd be amused at how awesome they are. Reading into some of the history would even amuse you some more. I'll keep this short and simple. If you're ever visiting Tucson, be sure to put this museum on the list of places to visit. And remember, don't forget the sunscreen!!

Yelp
Oh goodness, this place is both fun and educational! They have an unbelievable number of planes, jets, and helicopters (truly, an incredible variety) spanned across 80 acres both indoor and outdoor. We spent well over 4 hours there, but you could customize it to your group (whether it be shorter/longer or walking/guided tram tour). Remember that it's still the desert, so be sure to bring water, a hat and sunscreen! Definitely worth a stop!
