Good old tip culture. I tend to stop here every visit to Vegas. I just made my fist trip back in five years and of course, made this one of my stops. Um, how things have changed. Granted, I was there around 10 pm, so I'm not surprised there wasn't someone making fresh pizzas like I remembered. That's okay. It was kinda late. The selection wasn't great. They all pretty much were variations on Pepperoni. That was still okay.
Got a huge slice and it was pretty good. What wasn't good? The girl working the counter. When we came in it was all, "What can I get for you, baby?" and a pretty friendly demeanor. Until it came time to pay. I clicked the No Tip button, because what am I tipping for? You are putting a slice in the oven, taking my money (which you didn't really do since I used a card reader), then handing the pizza to me.
Her demeanor immediately changed and she acted irritated/pissed. When my pizza was ready, she wordlessly threw it on the counter.
Now if you are taking my drink order, getting and serving me a drink, clearing my table, checking on how the pizza was, making the pizza to order, doing ANYTHING above the bare minimum the job requires, I'd feel the need to tip.
My first trip back to Vegas in five years, going to one of my fav spots for pizza and that's the service I get? My wife and I enjoyed the pizza, but the sulking attitude of the person working the counter kinda put a damper on the moment and messed with our mood a bit for our first night there.
