Great place to enjoy a fresh pizza, spaghetti or a fettuccine Alfredo.. the service is great and they also serve beer and wine 🍷... enjoy it my dear friends...

Did they change owners or something. I loved coming here but their service sucks. Even take out. The cashier has no customer service. The 4% sur charge to use your card is crazy. If i order take out, im not tipping if im getting surcharged on top of the pricey items. But maybr thats why she couldn't bother to respond when I said thank you. And to boot, the pizza crust tasted like cardboard. Not coming back here for the dry pizza and the dry customer service

My family has been eating Pina’s pizza for over 30 years. We’ve never been disappointed in the quality of food or service. This pizza has become our staple piece to our family’s Friday nights.

After all the years that my wife and I have been enjoying our visits to Pina's pizza. Tonight they said that they didn't have a BUTTON to charge me for what ordered. 1/2 order of fried Zucchini. Which I get all the time. So guess this will be my last visit there. Thanks to the manager. Guess they don't have a Miscellaneous BUTTON.

The food is amazing! The service is wonderful. I love the lasagna and Hawaiian pizza. Good size portions. "Michael makes the best pizza ever"! “Outstanding customer service” The restaurant is always nice and clean. The bathrooms are clean.

Not Bad Good Food And Service

I really wanted to leave no stars but I can't. Just waited 30+ mins. "Couldn't find us" seen a comment similar to my experience on here. Really wanted to eat there but their service is really bad they just laughed it out. 5+ people for no reason. Didn't even mind saying they would give a discount for having me and my sister wait so long. We just left, don't come here.

Best Pizza place in town!! We ordered the buffalo wings and a Pina Special Pizza, they tasted so fresh and delicious. I loved how big the wings were and the buffalo sauce was actually spicy! Can’t go wrong with any pizza here, everyone loved the crust of the pizza as it was light and crispy. Love to support local family businesses, we can’t wait to be back ❤️

Their pastrami pizza is AMAZING!! Son loves the meatball sandwich; antipasto salad is delicious. Food was ready at the time promised. Only drawback is they charge extra for using credit card.

I have found out that the unhelpful, unkind and inhospitable employee was a man named Mike, he's the manager guy...I recognized him in the store's Instagram posts. He is the man behind the counter about whom I wrote on November 13, 2020. He's not a nice person. This is why I never returned to the store nor have I ever recommended that anyone patronize it. In one moment a rude, frowning and prejudiced employee, even if he's a family member, can ruin a store's reputation.

I hate giving this place 1 star because we been eating there through out the years , but our visit yesterday was disappointing. Our party of 10-15 goes out every Sunday, and we chose Pina's because it's usually good for larger groups. Kat did her job, but she seemed to be the only one working while several other employees stood around. Our food took over an hour to arrive, and when I asked for a manager, they told me Kat--who was already overwhelmed--was the manager. I tried to understand the cause of the delay, whether it was staffing or the kitchen, but nothing was explained. We stayed only because we were trying to be understanding. Another disappointment after waiting for our food we had to pay an extra 20% tip for party of 8 or more. Not saying servers don't deserve, it just wasn't an enjoyable experience.

The pizza was so fantastic everything else is overshadowed! They have been serving consistently excellent pizza for decades!! The service, unfortunately, continues to get worse. Only on inside dining. Take out is fabulous!! Our mozzarella sticks tasted freezer burned so we did send those back! The food and the owners are why we love Pina's!!

Not too many places around like this that exist anymore. Places that held true to their guns... keeping the same recipes/flavors, and keeping the same look inside not falling to modernized crap. Got introduced to this place as a little kid getting their stuff from the carnival at St. Dominic Savio.. slices of really good pizza and submarine sandwiches . When I moved away I'd make a point to get this stuff. Back now and love it

Went With Friends The Food Was Good The Service Was Okay First Time Here Also The Menu Is Great Plenty Of Choices The Only Thing The Parking Is Limited

Everything about this place is great. Service is wonderful. We always get the best waitress Aniana. Fresh and delicious food. We had a pepperoni,mushrooms,jalapenos. We also had the 4 cheese pasta and fettuccine Alfredo and a minestrone soup. The Ambiance was nice feels very cozy. It's family friendly.

What's has happened to the service at Pina Pizza House ? Customer service is unbelievably terrible ! My wife and myself stopped in to have dinner a lady told us to sit wherever we would like ! Sat down and nobody ever came to serve us ! We got up and walked out ! All we could hear coming from the kitchen was everyone in there talking and laughing up a storm ! They never even acknowledged us leaving!

Been eating here since I was a kid in the 80's! Friendly service whether you choose dine in or carry out!

Admittedly, it had been quite some time since I last visited Pina Pizza. I was still shocked though, when I recently learned one of my favorite places had started adding a four percent surcharge on credit card purchases. Granted, there are a few other places that do the same, but I would have never expected such nickel-and-diming from the great folks here. My second-favorite Italian restaurant, in Anaheim, added a credit card surcharge awhile back but, after I (and, no doubt, others) spoke-up, I was happy to see this bogus fee removed. I know there are merchant fees involved with credit card acceptance, but those fees have always been there and all other businesses also pay them. I also recognize the cost of doing business always increases, which is why I never complain when menu prices go up. It's these extra, unexpected fees that disappoint.

Been coming here for 16yrs. I use to live a couple blocks away, then I moved so I don't get it as often. I'll go out my way to pick up from here when I'm craving it. Pizza has been consistent since the first time I tried it. The best thing I've noticed is the pizza gets better for leftovers. I put it in the air fryer the next day 5min @ 350, it comes out crispy. This is the only pizza I know that gets better as leftovers Buffalo wings are perfect, but I order it extra crispy

I frequently come here for lunch. I was here last week and Mya was our server. She is always FANTASTIC - friendly, efficient, and professional. Thanks Mya for a great lunch !

Amazing good along with amazing waitress Sonia after so many years driving by WOW we have been driving by one of the best restaurants!!!

Loved this place!! Staff were extremely accommodating we got there 30mins before closing and they were extremely patient with us. Pizza was delicious! Topping options are great!

Went to Pina Pizza House for the 1st time yesterday. Had pepperoni pizza and salad. Wasn't sure what to order so I played it safe. My husband ordered the lasagna. The pizza was amazing!! My husband said the lasagna was the best he's ever had. Looked at what other patrons ordered and was impressed with the amount of the pasta plates and the look of the meals. Will be returning to sample other meals. Our server was the best!!! Sonia was very attentive, professional and is easy to talk to with a great sense of humor. I saw how she interacted with other customers, and she was genuine and sincere. When we return, I will be requesting her section. Great food and reasonable prices.

Great place for food in Downey. I've had a few different pizzas (I'm really fond of the Pina Special), the mozzarella sticks, a good number of salads, and their meatball sub, and all of it was very good. The meatball sub is particularly tasty. The service is good and the people are very friendly. It's an enjoyable visit every time.

The food was amazing. We came in on a Friday. They have some great specials. The server was very nice. I highly recommend this place. My kids got pizza's and my husband and I shared the chicken alfredo.

Food was amazing! Got the lasagna- delicious and filling. Also, the pastrami pizza, it was so good. Came in on a Friday, got seated quickly. Nice staff, the food portions are generous. Overall will return for dine in. I had to grab their seasonal short bread cookies to-go for dessert , one word delicious. They were soft when I took a bite and love how they say merry Christmas!

Been a while since I had pizza here. To be honest, the quality went down but now it looks like it's on its way back up again ordered pizzas twice and both were perfect pepperoni extra cheese and the house special ordered well done and they were great.

Traditional, family friendly, good value for money spent; most importantly the best pizza in Downey. Pasta recipes are delicious. Aglio Olio that I crave between visits. A true treasure that does not disappoint.

Hits the spot. Nothing exciting but very consistent. Doesn't taste like cardboard like alot of pizzas do. So thats a plus. Service is good. Ive had it several times will keep going. Customer for life. Pastas are bland. So I stay away. Pound cake or butter cake they have are delicious.

From the time I made my large order for a small birthday party, they were attentive and thorough from ordering in advance to my pick up time. They said they didn't make one pizza half and half like I requested, so they were making me another one and they added it plus an extra sausage pizza. They owned an easy mistake and gave me 3 for 1!! I highly recommend this business. Some chain restaurants are losing this personal attention that most of us still want. Small businesses need our support. They've been in Downey since the 1950s. They know what they're doing. The food is SO good.

We are so glad to have tried this place. My wife, 2.5 year old and I had a car repair. I had seen this place walking by in the past. My mechanic recommended a few of thier dishes. Everything was so good and home made. I did the chicken parmigiana sandwich on garlic bread. My wife had the Aglio Olio (added shrimp) and it was the perfect olive oil and garlic sauce. They also have great options for kids :) Highly recommend for good eats!

Took forever to get a menu, and to get our food. Pizza had good flavor but it was soggy. My girlfriend asked our waitress if it usually takes this long, and she responded with it depends on the cook. The only woman that really helped us out was Kat. Thanks kat!

Forgot to take photos of the food but it was so delicious!! Love how they make their dough fresh daily, you could really taste the difference. We also ordered wings as an appetizer & they were so big and flavorful can't go wrong with any of the flavors. I think we ordered all but the garlic parmesan. Even as leftovers the food was amazing! We love to support small local family businesses in the area. Please give them a try you won't be disappointed. Thank you so much to the amazing staff! We can't wait to be back

Used to come here a lot in high school. Haven't had their pizza in years! What a mistake on my part! Had their Pina Special tonight and it was absolutely delicious! They are very generous with their toppings and it is very tasty. Next time I'm craving pizza I'm definitely coming here again. :)

This is the oldest family run pizza house in Downey. The pizza is great! They make their own dough and the toppings are always fresh. Would highly recommend Pina Pizza if you're in the area.

I ordered 2 X Large Pizzas and requested them to be cooked well done on 1/5/2025. When I went home and opened up my pizzas both pizzas were very soggy! Pizza should never be soggy and the crust should be able to hold the toppings. I was very disappointed and will never order Pina Pizza again. I usually order pizza at Frantones but my wife wanted to try Pina Pizza back again. Never again will I return to Pina Pizza my kids were not too happy eating soggy pizza. For the $72 I paid for my 2 XL pizzas it was not worth my money. I could of paid less at Frantones but gotten better quality pizza that is not soggy!

Terrible pizza waited over 40 minutes for this (I know it sates to give more time for this pizza) mid pizza with very little to no cheese, "topped with Romano cheese" yeah right. Hated this family recipe

Let's start with the good. Our Server, Nate, was on point. Very personable, good suggestions, overall good experience. Food: The restaurant is at half capacity right now. It took almost exactly 1 hour to get our food. One item (kids meal) took well over an hour. Their gluten free pizza is quite literally the worst GF pizza I've ever eaten. No exaggeration. The crust was extremely chewy and hard to cut. It arrived not being cut all the way. Couldn't pull it apart and even with a sharp pocket knife, I had trouble cutting it. The sauce, and topping left a LOT to be desired as well. Chicken wings were good. Not amazing, but good. Their wine selection is also pretty bad. Boxed wine or $4 bottles of watered down nastiness. Not sure how a place like this stays in business. I could literally create a better menu in less than a day.

Looking for a new pizza place and this one has been around forever and close to our house. We ordered the Pina Special and it was so delicious! Loaded with sausage, pepperoni, cheese, onions and peppers! Normally I'm not a huge fan of peppers on my pizza but these were thinly sliced and added a nice flavor and crunch. Free bread as you sit down and 20% off on Fridays! Our waitress, Diamond, was extremely friendly and attentive making sure we had everything we needed, including drink refills.

I came to this restaurant when I was 8 years old and I never forgot the taste of the pizza. It was the best pizza I ever had from what I remember. It was so good that I remembered the name of the restaurant all these years. I'm now 30. I googled it and found it! My family and I came today and it was just like I remember it. It's the best pizza ever. Also- the waitresses Sonia and Sia were both so amazing and treated my family and I with so much love. This is definitely a family favorite not only because of the food but the amazing service. Thank you Sonia and Sia!

Food was good staff is friendly. My son's baseball team hosted their end of season party here I would definitely return.

We have been coming here for years. Whether a large order for a group or a small dinner, the food is always excellent. The prices are reasonable for what you get. This is the second time that Zoey was our server. She is always friendly and attentive. In this era of customer service, she is a gem.

I realized, when I compared a pizza we had in Plymouth Massachusetts to my all time favorite (Pina's) that I have never reviewed them. Well here it is. I'm assuming I had their pizza for the first time back in the 70's. In high school it was our go to and honestly we took it for granted. It isn't until you move, that you realize what you've left behind. I've been to New York a couple times, I've tried Chicago deep dish. This is the best pizza on the planet! Growing up with this place just down the street may have something to do with my opinion but we traveled 45 minutes as our kids were growing up for them to experience it and now we travel 400 miles and still find our way back. Does the chicken parm get the same rating? No. It's good but my new home town in Southern Utah has my #1 ranking. But the pizza!!! Always the best!

I have to say I am so impressed with their gluten free pizza! It was perfect thinness and crunchiness! I got olive oil, tomatoes, bell peppers and pepperoni and it was delicious! Every bite I took had perfect flavor and perfect crunch! By far this is the best gluten free thin crust pizza I have ever had! As for my boyfriend who doesn't eat gluten free loves it also! He also got the ravioli with meatballs, but the small has only one meatball! Anyways for future I will be ordering gluten free pizza from here! I was moaning with every bite!

My wife and I went for the valentines dinner. We were not disappointed. The food was phenomenal and the service was great. We loved and will be back.

We were a party of 12. There was a party of approx 25-30, arriving at the same time. A few minutes later a party of about 8 came in. Our server was Arielle and she also served to the party of 25-30. She did a fantastic job! I'm 59 and I've been going here for that many years, my parents even longer. This was the best server we've ever had and under these circumstances, that's huge!!! She couldn't do it alone. Thank you to all of you, support staff, in the kitchen.

First time here.., I personally loved their pizza . The customer service was super good too. Waiter was a sweet girl that checked on us and recommended the large pizza instead of the XL pizza (it was only 3 of us). That said, my bf and brother did not think the pizza was that good. They compared it to little Cesar's pizza :/ so I think it's personal choice of whether you like it or not. I def liked it so we coming back either way lol.

This is a place of sweet memories I went there today for the first time in over 40 years. It was just as delizioso as I remember it. A true Italian family run restaurant with recipes from decades ago in Italy. Everything is homemade for instance the sausage. A real treat. Wonderful memories revisited.

Went to Pina with a friend yesterday for a late lunch. They were super busy but the service was still superb. The Father's Day Menu looked enticing and we gave it a try. The new chef hit it out of the park on that one! OMGosh..... ah-mazing. Hope you'll do that menu again for other special events. Love this place!

Pandemic hit a lot of places. Pina has improved since then and glad to see they survived and thriving. They are a landmark in Downey and a must visit.
