On the Grid : Pine State Biscuits

"This popular food cart turned brick & mortar is a definite tourist destination. Normally I would avoid someplace with a line wrapped around the corner - and some mornings I will absolutely do just that, because there are plenty of delicious breakfast joints in this town. On a morning that I can be leisurely, I will gladly wait in that line for a stacked-high delicious fried chicken biscuit sandwich. And the line doesn’t really take THAT long." - Factory North

Google
$20 for a 16 ounce mocha and a freshly made homemade bacon egg and cheese biscuit. Absolutely delightful! Made from scratch biscuit that was 3 inches across and stood 3 inches tall after they loaded it with bacon ! If you want cheap garbage go elsewhere.. if you want quality tasty breakfast food and coffee then come here

Very impressed by both the food and staff. Came in during the week for breakfast and my family ordered a variety of different items. We had our dog with us so we sat at the outside tables available. Parking in the area may be limited or require payment. Most of the food since it involves biscuits do tend to be on the heavier side so I would come if you want a nice filling breakfast. The staff was kind, attentive and was quick to make recommendations. Would recommend the Chatfield or the Wedge for the biscuit sandwiches. Between the two, I preferred the Chatfield. If you're looking at something other than biscuits, the shrimp and grits were also impressive. Their house cinnamon roll was so delicious and rich in flavor that we took most of it to go for later.

Google
Solid biscuits. A little over priced for the proportions, but it’s solid food and you are eating in downtown Portland so what do you expect. Brisket lacked flavor, but the Carolina gold bbq sauce was very good in the biscuit. Parking is quite limited and pay.

Google
First time to the NW 23rd location. Really sheik interior compared to east side location. I had the Regina Deluxe and it was great! Moist chicken, thick bacon, savory sausage gravy and their signature biscuit.

Google
Amazing breakfast food! We got the Mcisley, the Reggie and the Reggie Deluxe. All were great and super filling. The sandwhiches are huge! The blueberry pancakes were also amazing. They have a great texture with the oats in the batter. Our food came out fast and everything was cooked perfectly. The fried chicken is especially great. It is lightly breaded and goes great with everything. Highly recommend for breakfast!

Google
This is my second location that I've eaten at. My brisket was all right for flavor, wasn't bad, the texture was good. My bisket was nothing but the brisket and biscuit. My friend ordered what I believe was a friend chicken biscuit. That thing was HUGE! She didn't know how or where to start eating it. She finished it, though! For the price, I would say it's worth a try. The service was so so, but I'm sure that's because they were pretty busy and had a constant stream of customers. One last thing, the biscuit is really the star of the show!

Google
Fun spot for breakfast, with very good food. Visiting the area and decided to head out for breakfast and Pine State Buscuits is only a few blocks from our Airbnb so we have it a try, quite good food and fun atmosphere. I ordered 2 of the Blueberry Cornmeal Pancakes, just the right amount. The pancakes have a light blueberry flavor with crispy edges, served with butter and maple syrup. Very good pancakes. My partner ordered the Veggie Reggie with a vegan breakfast patty, soy bacon, Tillamook cheddar cheese and a mushroom gravy. He totally enjoyed the biscuit and the sausage with gravy is amazing. Overall, great food, nice vegan choices, and great service

Google
Pine State Biscuits in Portland is a breakfast and comfort food paradise that never misses the mark! Their Biscuit with Mushroom Gravy is absolutely divine-the biscuits are buttery, flaky, and melt-in-your-mouth good, while the mushroom gravy is rich, savory, and packed with earthy flavor. It's the perfect dish for anyone craving a hearty, vegetarian-friendly option. The Shrimp n' Grits is another star on the menu. The creamy grits are perfectly cooked and topped with tender, flavorful shrimp and just the right blend of seasonings. It's a Southern-inspired dish that feels right at home on their creative menu. With its cozy, casual vibe and consistently excellent food, Pine State Biscuits is a must-visit spot in Portland. Whether you're starting your day or looking for some serious comfort food, this place delivers every time!

Yelp
Located on a corner street with plenty of meters street parking around, there is indoor and outdoor seating. We chose to sit outside since it was a nice and sunny day - and even sitting outside staff checked on us frequently! Wanted to try many thing on the menu so we ordered a Reggie, Reggie deluxe, Mac & Cheese bites, fried green tomatoes, hush puppies, coconut water and of course Marion berry jam - because when in the PNW (why not!) and strawberry butter! Reggie - fried chicken, cheese, bacon and gravy (you can choose between sausage OR mushroom - I got both!) doesn't look too good but it was tasty!! The biscuit was nice and flakey- and I couldn't finish it! The Reggie deluxe is the same as a Reggie but with a fried egg. Max & Cheese bites were tasty nice crunch and gooey insides. Fried green tomatoes -just meh, not much to say about them. Best part is they have so many different and seasonal jams and butters! Will be coming back when I visit again!

Yelp
Returned for a gluttonous lunch: biscuits and gravy, Reggie Deluxe, Pop tart, pancakes, Hash Browns- Heaven

Yelp
Friendly, found a nice table in the back that wasn't too loud. The biscuits were amazing! And they had espresso and the food came quickly, people say this is just for tourists but you're missing out if you don't give it a try. I wouldn't dare try to go on a weekend though lol.
google avatar

Yelp
Very good, quality ingredients. I prefer buttermilk biscuits, but there biscuits are still really good. I got the veggie with vegan sausage and mushroom gravy. It was delicious!

Yelp
We visited Pine State Biscuits during our trip to Portland. I saw their Reggie Deluxe on social media and had to try it. The interior of Pine State Biscuits was warm and welcoming. The staff were friendly and pleasant to interact with. And I appreciated the self-seat, self-serve(water), and self-dispose set up they had. The Reggie Deluxe did live up to the hype, and I'll definitely be eating here again on my next trip to Portland.

Yelp
Tasty!! This is a unique place, and I would say this is definitely a Portland local food place to try. This is essentially a biscuit sandwich breakfast place. They have so many options. I ordered the one with fried chicken, sausage gravy, and bacon (The Reggie). Oh my gosh was it delicious! The gravy was a bit salty, but I like salty. They also offer mushroom gravy which I tried, and it is not as salty. I also ordered a vanilla latte. It was smooth and yummy. It was so good I ate here twice in a row on my trip to Portland. This is definitely a must try when in PDX!

Yelp
I stopped in for lunch on a Friday and had the Veggie Reggie with some fries. The biscuit, "bacon" and the gravy were great, but I wasn't a fan of the flavor of the "sausage" patty. I just realized I was supposed to get a cookie with my order but I didn't. Dangit! Service was friendly and my order came out fast. My dog and I appreciate that they have a pet friendly patio, which have heat lamps.

Yelp
A great spot to cure your weekend drinking the day after. Their dishes are hearty to say the least with big buttery biscuits, fried chicken, creamy gravy, and bottomless black coffee. We came late on a Sunday and it's still rather busy. The staffs got great energy and were very hardworking though so we got our orders promptly after. We went with the Reggie, McIsley, Large Hashbrowns, and the Biscuit Beignets. Although the spread looked overly heavy, we're surprised at how easy it was to work through. Both biscuit sandwiches were well-balanced in flavors and ingredients. The fried chickens were fresh and crispy and worked well with the sweeter honey sauce and pickles in the McIsley and the sausage gravy in the Reggie. Another hit was the beignets. You can get a mic of both the cinnamon sugar and powdered sugar. They're served with a delectable butterscoth sauce with a hint of banana. We loved these, a great treat that you should totally try. I would skip the hashbrowns. They're not bad and well-seasoned but way too flimsy for our liking. All in all, a very solid meal and I would be back when there's a hankering for some of their unique biscuit sandwiches.
google avatar

Natalie C.

Yelp
Maybe a bit overhyped? We got a Veggie Reggie, a Build Your Own Biscuit (veggie sausage, egg, cheese), and cinnamon sugar beignets. While the biscuits were super soft, fluffy, and fresh, we didn't care too much about the actual sandwiches. They were really filling but nothing to write home about. It just reminded me of food you get when you have the munchies, you know? We ordered online and when we arrived, it was really crowded and tough to make our way to the pick-up spot. It felt disorganized and everyone seemed on high alert. Maybe I'll go back for a biscuit and pop-tart sometime, but will skip the breakfast sandwiches!

Yelp
Ventured out to the Alphabet District and found this great place to grab breakfast. First of all, the area is clean and busy with people out for a bite to eat or shop. I have heard great things about Pine Street Biscuits and all the rave reviews are legit! We ordered the Regina and Brisket biscuits with a side of mushroom gravy. The biscuits are perfect- flaky and tasty. The meats on both were cooked perfectly. It was filling and satisfying. The coffee is also very good. Highly recommend.

Yelp
This place is a classic place to get some hearty and filling food. There is usually a line, but it does move semi quickly. During this visit, I opted for the chicken fried steak and a side of Cajun fries. The chicken fried steak was made well, and the gravy that went with it was delicious. The fresh biscuit also went well with the meal.
google avatar

Camille S.

Yelp
Probably the best biscuits and gravy I've ever had! So well seasoned and the biscuits were soft. Amazing! My fiancée got the Brisket Biscuit and loved it as well! We had never eaten here, but it's been on my list for years. Also got the beignets and they were so good. We got half powered sugar and half cinnamon sugar, but the real star is the sauce that it comes in. It was delicious! We did wait in line for a bit and waited awhile for our food, but we came on a Saturday afternoon so that's to be expected for a brunch spot. Inside was a bit loud so we ate outside. There are heaters.

Kay ..

Yelp
The workers at this location are super nice and very friendly. Everytime I visit, the food never disappoints. I got the Veggie Reggie (though I'm not Vegetarian) and a blueberry cornmeal pancake to fuel me before my hike! Both were so good. The tofu "bacon" in the Veggie Reggie was super flavorful, and the shiitake mushroom gravy was just so good. The blueberry cornmeal pancake is one of favorites, but beware that it is a hearty, dense pancake. So, if you're looking for light and fluffy, this might not be for you.
google avatar

Norman C.

Yelp
I came here with a few friends on a Saturday morning. Be prepared to wait a long time especially during peak breakfast/brunch hours! I can say the wait is totally worth it! However if you want to be quickly in and out, you are able to order online as pickup ahead of time! I got The Chatfield biscuit which consisted of fried chicken, bacon, cheese topped with apple butter. Definitely a food-coma worthy meal!
google avatar

Felinn A.

Yelp
2nd stop of the day and this also did not disappoint. I ordered the Reggie deluxe to go and it was a hefty order! The biscuit was very fluffy and warm along with the melted cheese, fried, egg and not dry fried chicken. The gravy sauce was also very tasty! I do wish they slathered a little more on it but I understand as it was a to go order. I hope to come back and try their hash ups and biscuits with jams! Worth the stop, just be prepared to take a nap after eating here.

Yelp
The last time I had this was probably 10 years ago lol I do remember it being tasty but so heavy for a brunch food. My sister loves biscuits so of course we had to stop here. Glad I stuck with the tried and true, Reggie deluxe with mushroom gravy. It was just right. My mom surprisingly got the shrimp and grits, which I wasn't a fan of. Never liked grits. It was salty to me. We added biscuits and it sort of helped but still I would skip. My other sister got the chicken fried steak....? that was pretty tasty too with the gravy and biscuits. Definitely a Portland staple so if you haven't been! You should go! Service was okay, and plenty of seating for a weekday late afternoon.
google avatar

Allyson L.

Yelp
I've been to the Pine State Biscuits location in Reno many times and had to stop by a location in Portland. There is way more seating than what I'm used to and their Portland bandanas are super cute! We ordered the classic Reggie and also a special Halloween cinnabun. I'm glad that the Reno location tastes just as good as the one here. I love the sausage gravy. The cinnabun is very sweet, but was so cute!
google avatar

Samantha T.

Yelp
My expectations were sky high. This was solid. Probably enjoyed the hashbrowns more than the biscuit sandwich though (get the hashbrowns!!) I'd go back and get something lighter than the fried chicken and gravy biscuit.
google avatar

Zabrina G.

Yelp
Finally made it into Pine State Biscuits! It was so good!! The mocha was great! I got the Reggie with sausage gravy and my husband got the Reggie deluxe with shiitake sausage. The fried chicken was delicious, I mean it was all delicious!! Staff was super friendly and seating was plentiful, including covered outside seating.
google avatar

Ashley A.

Yelp
Overall everything was pretty good! The chicken fried steak was cooked to perfection. And my club, where I don't normally eat red meat, was so delicious. I'm a big fan of cinnamon rolls so I was excited to it try out especially for the bourbon glaze but it was alright. I can tell it was sitting out for a while so it tasted a little stale, somewhat dry. The customer service though wasn't the greatest. I wasn't a big fan of a drink that I got at first so I wanted to get something else and he gave my boyfriend such a hard time. I know it's frustrating to remake certain things but it doesn't make it better when it feels like a burden.
google avatar

Alli G.

Yelp
I've been hearing about this place since moving to Portland. It mostly lives up to the hype. The prices were fair, the service was good, and the food was really nice. I recommend splitting some portions as they are really big. Mushroom gravy way a standout
google avatar

Jeff L.

Yelp
The food was good, not great but good. Service was friendly and accommodating. One thing I didn't like was the vertical size of the biscuit sandwiches that made it hard to bite into before the whole thing eventually crumbled. I'd gladly sacrifice some fried chicken volume in order to take a bite of all of the ingredients at once.
google avatar

Alex S.

Yelp
Delicious breakfast sandwiches! The sausage gravy is amazing. Such a big serving it was hard to finish the whole thing, but always tasty!
google avatar

Derek T.

Yelp
Biscuits aren't exactly something you think about on a daily basis but Pine State Biscuits begs to differ. Crunchy on the outside, fluffy and buttery on the inside. This is how a biscuit should be. Smear it with honey whipped butter and now you're just living in a dream. Yeah, it was a great experience with each bite that i was tempted to get more biscuits after but me and my tiny stomach had a vicious argument over that so I opted for just the one this time around. Now if you're especially hungry then definitely get a biscuit sandwich but if you're just trying to snack, get the biscuit n spread. So all in all, this is a great place for biscuits as the name implies, you can't go wrong here.
google avatar

Chris C.

Yelp
Worth the wait. Which wasn't that bad even on the Saturday of Labor Day weekend. Shared a Reggie deluxe and hush puppies with my wife, with the mushroom/sausage gravy combo. It was so delicious and savory... could have eaten a whole one but I'd probably still be in the resulting food coma if I did Staff was very nice also. Definitely recommend if the line isn't too long
google avatar

Frances L.

Yelp
10/10 would recommend pine state biscuits, hits the spot! wish it came with more gravy.
google avatar

Grace R.

Yelp
You stand and place your order at the front register. They give you a mug for coffee and tell you to fill it up, then point to where you get your water. You have the option to give a tip right then (for what??). Ah, they do bring your food to your table (by number). When done, you bus your own table. Our dining companion really loves this place (most likely because it's vegetarian friendly). For me, it was just meh. The biscuit is dense, and didn't taste buttery. The sausage gravy didn't have a lot of sausage flavor, but was ultra black-peppery. It's just so-so for what I think is a higher-priced breakfast.
google avatar

Hannah M.

Yelp
I met God in this place. Food is fantastic, service is great, prices are very good. I would sell an organ for the sausage gravy. Will definitely be back!
google avatar

Cami S.

Yelp
The reggie with the sausage gravy is tasty, you can also order 1/2 sausage and 1/2 mushroom gravy which I would recommend! The biscuits were fluffy and flaky which is so delicious. The hushpuppies were a little dry and the ketchup that came with them was too vinegary for my liking. The wait to order took longer than the food to come, but totally worth it!
google avatar

Stephen K.

Yelp
I stopped in since I happened to be in the neighborhood, and they were actually open at the time! We got several items which ranged from just OK to rather good. Most impressive was the bourbon caramel cinnamon roll...very flavorful, fresh, and delicious! Not quite as good, but still overall good were the "biscuit beignets". There were three powered sugar and three cinnamon sugar in the order, as well as a caramel dipping sauce. We also got three biscuits, and they're just OK...they taste heavily of sodium bicarbonate. We've yet to try the pumpkin cheesecake and the pecan pie, but they look quite nice. Each item was individually packaged, and thoughtfully labeled, which is highly appreciated. Service was super friendly and super prompt. The store was also very clean, and featured a self-service water station. Parking for this location is an absolute nightmare.
google avatar

Yelp
Unfortunately I think we hit them on an off day. Had the hash-up with egg and sausage patty, with a biscuit with butter and marionberry jam. The biscuit is where it's at and is amazing. Hash up was ok - the cheddar is just like a slice of cheddar tossed on top, and the egg was completely overdone - hard to the point of chalky. My friends were quoted ~20min wait for food but took 45 min and order came out wrong and took like another 15min just to bring a forgotten egg out. Am disappointed- I want to love this place and like the biscuits, and def am sympathetic to staff shortages. I suspect this was a one-off, and will certainly be back again at some point, but with so many great places in the area, won't be rushing back any time real soon.
google avatar

Virgilynn B.

Yelp
Food is made to order so you're going to wait a bit... service was friendly and ambiance was nice and clean, lots of seating indoors and out. I ordered the Reggie with sausage gravy. It was delicious! I ordered gravy on the side. Lots of good flavor, enough for 1 but could be shared between 2. I also tried a bite of their cinnamon roll. Not to impressed with it but was ok. And I also tried the potatoes with mushroom on top which was really good and complimented the sandwich well. Add this to your bookmarks if you're coming to Portland!
google avatar

Teddy Z.

Yelp
Yummy, yummy, yummy!! Would totally return and eat here again. In fact, wished our visit to Portland was longer so I could eat here more than just once!! The servers were nice, the variety of offerings were solid, and ALL the food we had tasted great! My partner and I "shared" everything. He ordered the Wedgie with Ranch (vs Blue Cheese dressing). It was delicious! I ordered 1 Blueberry Cornmeal pancake and a side of Hash Browns with an over-medium egg. Then for dessert, I had to try one of their seasonal homemade Pop Tarts! OMG! The Pop Tart was amazing!! I finally settled on the Caramel Apple Pop Tart because I was too full to order the PB&J one also. THIS is why we MUST GO BACK! The filling was warm and gooey, the pastry was flaky and fresh, and the icing with the warm caramel popcorn just made it look sooo appealing and taste perfect! If you're in the mood for a tasty breakfast/brunch in Portland, you MUST check out Pine State Biscuits. You won't regret it :)

Yelp
It was recommended for us to try by many friends. The expectations was really high, and I kind of expected the food to surpass. Food was great. I got the Reggie and Brisket biscuit. The chicken on the reggie and Brisket was a little dry. The gravy on the reggie helped, but the Brisket Biscuit didn't have gravy (recommend ordering extra on the side) The late morning coffee cocktail was a great drink!

Yelp
Uhh would give 10 out of 5! We were visiting Portland and a friend recommended Pine Stare Biscuits. We went early and there were no lines. Since you place your order before seating, we were not rushed and can look at the menu and the baked goods. The food came out pretty fast and everything was done so well. The biscuit and gravy was amazing. We ordered the Marion berry roll. I am not a fan of Marion berries but this was delicious. They described it as a cinnamon roll but with the berries. This did not disappoint. Kids had pancakes and bacon. Pancakes were so delicious and bacon was crispy just how we love it. Finally the star was the shrimp and grits. So amazing. I almost went back to order more for myself but the line became too long. When we come back to Portland, definitely coming to Pine State Biscuits.

Yelp
The last time we visited Portland in 2019, we had missed Pine State Biscuits by just an hour after they closed. We were determined to try it out this time, and had the opportunity to do a pick-up order. - PARKING - Street parking only - be mindful of paid parking spots! Mobile parking apps make it easier to keep track of time and to add on if needed! - SERVICE/ENVIRONMENT - We placed our order online - note that this location will not pop up until their regular open hours! It was very easy to navigate on the website and I received a text when the order was ready to be picked up. The inside of the restaurant looks fairly deep - will have to try dining in next time! - FOOD - Reggie Deluxe ($14.00): Since we got this to-go, I asked for our gravys on the side. I had ordered both the Sausage and Mushroom gravy but they only gave me one. Overall the Biscuit Sandwich was good, but I did feel like the Biscuit itself was denser than other spots I've been to. I think if they had just cut the Biscuit more evenly, it would have been miles better. Biscuit Beignets (6pc - $4.00): DELICIOUS bite sized treats!!! I love how the biscuit dough didn't get dry or overly dense after being deep fried. The Bourbon Caramel Glaze was a delicious accompaniment to dip the beignets in! Caramel Apple Poptart ($5.00): Sounded better than it tasted. Think apple turnover with some glaze and caramel corn on top. Bourbon Caramel Cinnamon Roll ($6.00): Super fluffy cinnamon roll! You can REALLY taste the Bourbon in the Bourbon Caramel Glaze, as well as the slight bitterness from the Coffee Salt. Really delicious twist to your typical cinnamon roll! - OVERALL - I'll have to try the food fresh and dine-in to really see the quality and taste, but take-out wasn't a bad experience! I really liked their Biscuit Beignets - although it sounds like a silly thing, its delicious!

Yelp
One of my favorite restaurants in Portland! I'll always bring visitors to Pine State Biscuits! I recommend trying out the Blueberry corn meal pancake as well as doing a combo of the gravy ( mushroom and sausage gravy). I always order the Moneyball with sausage or bacon. Can't recommend it enough! Just note that serving size here is huge. So come with an empty stomach. Also, love the ambiance here. It's very laidback and dogs are allowed on the patio!
google avatar

Kenny H.

Yelp
Different location but this is my 3rd experience with the restaurant. Zero disappointment with the food! The line of customers was the only drag with the experience. Took a bit for a table and foods but the place is always packed, shows the community loves the grub! The reggae deluxe is my favorite with sausage gravy over easy egg for the win.
google avatar

Jeff N.

Yelp
Order at register then sit down. Self serve coffee Watch biscuits being made They bring out the food Enjoy fantastic biscuits with quality premium stuffings and toppings Watch people Enjoy the music Bus your table It would have been a solid 5 if the staff wasn't so flat. You're on stage! Especially the biscuit maker. Smile, pretend you are enjoying the role. Worth the trip!
google avatar

Annie H.

Yelp
My go to order is the Reggie. The gravy is so creamy and savory. It's a heavy meal and I always want to take a nap after eating the sandwich. I've always gotta have something sweet after a savory meal and I absolutely love seeing the different flavor pop tarts they've got on rotation.
google avatar

Pam Pam G.

Yelp
Visited Pine State after hearing recommendations for years. I'm not usually a huge biscuit person but I was a big fan. The Reggie definitely deserves its title as their signature dish -- the gravy pairs wonderfully with the biscuit and the fried chicken is juicy and flavorful. My cousin got the brisket biscuit which was only ok -- both the meat and the biscuit were a bit dry but the caramelized onions on it were tasty. We also ordered the biscuit beignets which were definitely worth the hype -- they were fresh, crispy, and still hot when we got them. Delicious!
google avatar

Kathy N.

Yelp
Y'all, this is possibly the best breakfast joint I've ever been to. I ordered the Wedgie while my friend got the Chatfield. I didn't expect that the Wedgie was going to be swimming in ranch, and as someone who only likes a little bit of it, I was prepared to be disappointed with a very strong, overwhelmingly tangy flavor, but this wasn't the case at all! It had a light flavor that perfectly complimented the chicken and huge stack of lettuce on top. I thought the lettuce was bizarre at first but it helped bring a fresh and light element to the plate. The fried green tomato was also delicious. I never had one of those before but now I'm obsessed. Every aspect of the meal was perfectly flavored. I didn't try my friend's item but she said she was afraid it was going to be extremely dry. However, that wasn't the case at all and she praised the apple butter. The biscuits were also top-knotch. These people know what they're doing. The only complaints I had was there wasn't enough seating given the popularity of the place (line out the door) and they needed to restock the utensils more
google avatar

Derrick G.

Yelp
One word encapsulates Pine State Biscuits, which is incredible. The biscuits are perfectly made, and the entrees served with the biscuits are unmatched. The Biscuits and Gravy are the best I have had to date. The biscuits and gravy can be ordered with sausage gravy that I ordered, but can be order with mushroom gravy for those on a plant-based diet. Also, I ordered a brisket biscuit sandwich, which isn't typical but tasted amazing. The brisket by itself was better than most briskets I have tried in traditional BBQ restaurants, but with the addition of caramelized onions on a perfect biscuit, the sandwich was out-of-this world good. Pine State Biscuits is a one-of-a-kind biscuit restaurant that you must try.
google avatar

Yelp
Yes, there is always a line. Sometimes longer than others, but it goes pretty fast. Peruse the menu and know what you want to help move things along. They can do anything that you want. Don't grab a table until a while after you ordered and don't be a table hog! Bus your own table and wipe it off the best you can. This is absolutely made from scratch awesome food! Super friendly service, nice digs. A really great place. So glad we checked it out!

Yelp
Let's hear it for the biscuit Crisp top, buttery soft inside. Each bite was everything you hoped and dreamed it would be. The fried chicken was juicy, flavorful, and crisp! The iceberg on the Reggie was soooooo good w/ the ranch. Brought me back to elementary school lunch, but in a good way? The gravy here is top tier. The fries are good, but probz wouldn't get again cause it's a lot of food w/o them. They have only a few desserts and sometimes they're sold out or it's for a limited time. But while you're here, I'd suggest picking one to try! We got the bourbon cinn roll & duuuuddeeee - Booze in a dessert (esp a cinnamon roll) is a game changer. I wouldnt change a single thing about what I ordered and would without a doubt, get the same order every single time. -Now, these items are the move- THE REGGIE DELUXE THE CLUB BOURBON MAPLE CINN ROLL

Yelp
I was really excited to check out Pine State Biscuits! Biscuits are my favorite so when I heard about this place it was definitely a must do on my list while visiting Portland. I was not disappointed! When we arrived there was a line to order out the door, but this moved quickly. We were worried about getting a seat because it was so busy but this was not an issue at all, there was pleanty of seating. We ended up sitting outside because inside was a bit too loud. They have a few vegetarian options on the menu but are lacking vegan options. We ended up ordering the veggie reggie deluxe with an extra side of gravy, hashups, a biscuit with jam. We also had an arnold palmer and a chai with oatmilk. The arnold palmer was very tasty good, my wife really enjoyed her chai, it is a local chai and it had little sprinkled of chai on top. My wife thought it was going to taste like a candle because of the little sprinkle on top and how strong it smelled however, she was suprised that it tasted perfect. The chai was perfectly spiced and had a great flavor and it has just the right amount of sweetness. We both enjoyed the chai. Our food did not take too long to come out which was surprising given how busy it was. The veggie reggies were huge and absolutely amazing. The shiitake gravy that came on them was so flavorful and good, I wish I would have ordered even more of it. The biscuit with jam was perfectly warm and buttery, it was really good. The least favorite was the hashups, my wife liked them but didnt care for them as much as everything else but I enjoyed them. They were really good with some kethcup and texas pete sauce. I only have one small complaint is that we sat outside and it was cold out and they didn't have the heaters on but this wasn't the biggest deal. Overall, I was blown away by the friendly and welcoming service and awesome food! I will definitely be back and missing the food here as I head home to California. I loved this place and highly recommend giving it a try! We even decided to by a shirt here to represent my new favorite breakfast spot!

Yelp
Yelp reviews show either a love/hate for this place. I actually liked it. Came here when masks were still required thus you wait outside in a line until it's your cue to come in. You order at the counter and they give a you a number that corresponds with your order, for their service staff to deliver to your table. Food portions were big. Prices were average. The biscuit I ordered was just perfect. One negative to note is not everyone cleans their table after use. Considering cleaning rags were not far from where you place the dirty dishes in a bin. I

Yelp
My husband and I got here a little after 10 AM on Sunday. There was a line out the door, but we decided to wait since we weren't in a rush. It was about a half hour wait, which isn't the worst because you would easily wait double that time for brunch in NYC. Once you get inside, you order/pay at the counter and then they bring the food to your table. The wait for the food was a little crazy. We waited 40 minutes! There was a couple who sat down maybe about 15- 20 minutes after us but they still got their food before we even did. This definitely made it a not so great experience, but the food is actually pretty good. Here is what we ordered: Reggie Deluxe (fried chicken, bacon and Tillamook cheddar topped with gravy and a fried egg) - I don't normally love biscuits but this was really good. The gravy was nice and flavorful. But I'm glad we shared this because I could see myself getting sick of eating this. It's a pretty heavy dish Hash Ups (golden hash browns with grilled onions, mushrooms and melted cheese) - you can opt to add meat but we decided not to. Although this was a bit greasier than most hash browns, it was still really good. It could have used some more mushrooms and cheese. This is another dish meant for sharing Red Velvet Pop Tart - they have homemade pop tarts that rotate, so you just need to ask what they have available. We had the red velvet one, which was a little too sweet for me Overall, the food is good but I'm not sure if it's worth all that waiting.

Yelp
It's hard to decide what to order when everything sounds delicious - you cannot go wrong. I wish there was a place near me in Tacoma!
