Loved this gem. four of us had chicken sandwich biscuits so good that we came back for breakfast the next day. We had brisket biscuit sandwiches and chicken pimento sandwich and wedgie chicken biscuit. Everyone loved them. Breakfast was a treat with absolutely wonderful shrimp and grits and Cornmeal Blueberry Pancakes. Our only criticism was more blueberries please (who doesn’t want more blueberries). Super lovely restaurant with full ceiling to floor windows. Great service and loved how they seated us. I would come here everyday if I was not watching my weight.

Google
The Moneyball biscuit and gravy was the best I’ve had in a long time. The over easy egg was the icing on the biscuit. I spoiled myself and also ordered one blueberry pancake and had to take a nap after riding my bike back across the river. I will be going back..soon. Service was great 👍🏼

Google
Cute little place. Service was nice. Everyone was friendly. There are signs to bus your own tables but staff was still doing what they can helping patrons clear tables and offered their free time. The honey bun was amazing. Now I was excited about the biscuits and gravy. I was not a fan. I say that with caution as the food itself was good not necessarily bad. But the gravy was sweet. I wasn't prepared for that and that's just not my preference. It's not what you expect a gravy to be. But great staff. I'd go back to try something different I suppose. Great staff.

Delicious!!! Such a cute restaurant. Extremely friendly staff. The bourbon cinnamon roll was to die for!!! Sooo good. The biscuits and gravy are more on the sweet side, but still delicious. Was our first time there and will definitely return.

It's the first time I've been here but I will definitely be back to try other menu items. I forgot what it's named but I got biscuits& sausage gravy with an over easy egg on top that was delicious. The coffee was very good too.

First off, it must be said that the food here is excellent. Being from the South I’m particular about biscuits and sausage gravy, and this place does not disappoint. When it comes to service, they are efficient though not especially cheerful or accommodating. First visit: I got the biscuit and gravy plate with a side of eggs. It was delicious with more than enough gravy to cover the biscuit and enjoy the sausage flavor. Second visit: I went with a chicken, bacon, egg, and cheese biscuit (The Reggie Deluxe) that comes with gravy for $16 (a rather hefty price for a biscuit sandwich but again the flavor was on point). The issue came when my food was delivered and the side sausage gravy was in a bowl that was maybe half full. There was certainly not enough to cover the biscuit, so I simply asked to please fill the bowl (which is similar in size to a small cup of soup) to the top with gravy so I have enough to enjoy it with the biscuit sandwich. Instead, I was told I’d have to pay extra because that was a ladle full of gravy. For $16 I don’t think it’s unreasonable to want enough gravy to cover the biscuit they made. This ruined what was my last meal in Reno before heading to the airport. :/

Google
Visiting Reno from Georgia, by way of Mississippi, and tbh … the food was okay, decent at best. As with most of the food in the area, it just wasn’t to my liking, but that’s not to say someone else won’t enjoy! I’m just southern I guess. I wouldn’t order again, especially not for the price.

Google
The food was amazing! The staff were incredibly friendly and there is plenty of seating. I would definitely eat here again.

Yelp
What a great find! This was our second time eating here and wasn't disappointed. The restaurant is open and fairly quiet. This is an order at counter then food brought out. The food came out quicker than o got to the table with my coffee. The biscuits have a crunchy bottom with a soft and fluffy inside . The menu has a great assortment but biscuits are the go to. My wife and I split a biscuits and gravy plus an extra biscuit on the side. They have very tasty sausage gravy or mushroom gravy for vegetarian diets. This place gets busy on the weekend but nice and quiet on a Monday. The staff was attentive and pleasant. Great time for a party of four.

Yelp
Came in to put myself in a food coma before the long drive home. When you walk in, menus are at the door and they ask that you first order before heading to a table. I ordered the Money Ball with mushroom gravy and was caught a bit off guard when I was asked if I minded it coming with scrambled egg. I asked if they don't do over easy anymore (as it's stated on the menu) and the girl at the counter said they do... but they prefer not to. I requested to keep the over easy. The house made mango hot sauce packs a ton of heat, so just use a little if you don't want it too spicy! The mushroom gravy is definitely mushroom forward (think cream of mushroom). While I would order it that way again, I'd probably opt to try the sausage gravy first. Biscuits were nice and fluffy- not crazy dense. I also ordered a Bloody Mary, which I went back to the counter to ask for, as the food came first. They quickly got it prepared for me. The Bloody Mary itself was decent. Not on my list of things to order again, as it didn't have much taste outside of horseradish, but the bacon garnish was nice and crisp. Overall I'd rate 3.5 if Yelp would allow.

Yelp
I'm not a person who likes bisquets and gravy very much but I decided to give it a chance. We arrived there at noon and the place was completely empty, the place has a concept of ordering first and they bring your food to the table. As I mentioned before, I'm not a big fan of biscuits so I took a lot to try to decide what I wanted from the menu and in all that moment the lady who was at the register was very patient. The food didn't take long to get to our table and I must accept that the food was very tasty at first it took me a little to get the flavor of the shrimp & grits because it was as if I was eating oatmeal but the shrimp and mushrooms gave it an exquisite flavor. The gravy of the bisquets tasted very good and the pancakes were crunchy from the shore. Even though the atmosphere was very quiet since there were no people it felt very comfortable eating there.

Yelp
Delicious and unique! The chicken sandwich delicious and I added some hot sauce. Made for the perfect sweet , salty and hot combo. Not to mention the pickles and stone ground mustard added a good tangy flavor. My husband got the busts and gravy and said that the gravy was one of the most delicious things he has ever had. The food came out so quick, I think 5 minutes after ordering. The beauty of a small and specialized menu. There are several tables for couples and groups of 4, and some bar seating. This is a busy place and they will not let you sit in a table that is bigger than your amount of people. For instance, 2 people would not be able to sit at a table for four. There are several tables outside, which would be perfect for the warmer months, but I wouldn't recommend it in the colder months. There is only street parking and it is limited.

Yelp
I had the Veggie Reggie Delux. It was yummy! Their biscuit was perfect, mushroom gravy delicious, veggie patty flavorful, and as always I love when a restaurant can put together a vegetarian option with as much though put into making it delicious as the rest of their menu. I also liked that you order, sit down where you'd like, and they bring it to you. Cute simple space and some beautiful healthy plants to liven up the vibe.

Yelp
The food is good, but honestly overrated for most of the items on the menu. Our waitress was also very rude and had an unnecessary attitude which spoiled the visit a little bit and i don't feel like coming back for awhile. The coffee is absolutely excellent and will revisit just for that alone anytime i need a great cup of coffee, but not as often anymore. I completely understand people for having a bad day, but there's no excuse to be snooty with a customer when they ask how long it'll be for a fresh batch of coffee since i paid for unlimited and only had one cup before it ran out. There are also pretty long wait times and the homeless in that area can be an issue which is pretty uncomfortable especially when they enter the dining room and wonder from table to table asking for money or food.

Yelp
Charming Breakfast Spot with Room for Improvement I recently visited this breakfast spot, drawn in by their reputation for biscuits. While the experience had its highlights, there's some room for growth. First off, I wish all their biscuits came with gravy as a standard--it's available for an extra cost, but it feels like a natural pairing. The Reggie, their most popular option, includes fried chicken, bacon, and cheese, topped with either sausage gravy or mushroom gravy. While the concept is fantastic, I found the chicken and gravy could use a little more seasoning to elevate the flavors. Additionally, the biscuit itself was on the dry side, which took away from the overall experience. I also tried the Chatfield, which features fried chicken, bacon, and apple butter. The apple butter was flavorful but too thick, overpowering the other ingredients, and again, the biscuit felt too dry. That said, there's a lot of potential here--the menu is creative, and the flavors show promise. The staff was friendly, and the space offers plenty of seating, which is a plus. Parking, however, can be a challenge with limited side street and metered options. They're open 8 AM to 2 PM, making it a convenient breakfast or brunch spot.

Yelp
We came here while strolling around with out-of-town visitors. We weren't feeling too hungry when we sat at the table, but we all finished everything on the plates. Needless to say, we were very happy with our lunch, and husband was glad that he suggested this place. I had The Club with fried chicken. I absolutely loved the chicken, and the piled high fresh iceberg lettuce. The biscuits, fresh and warm, are just about perfect. The service was friendly, the place is clean and cozy, and I really enjoyed everything. We have to come here more often!
google avatar

Yelp
How it works: You grab a menu on your way into the restaurant, order at the register, and they'll give you a number with your order. You can choose where you want to sit and the staff will bring your food to you. Food: The Club (with smoked brisket) with a side of mushroom gravy. The biscuits are made in-house, so they are super fresh and buttery. The biscuit was not dry at all. I can't say the same about the brisket tho. It was not the best brisket I had. It was on the drier and tougher side. I would get this with the fried chicken next thing. The iceberg lettuce and tomato made it taste healthier. The staff was super friendly and the food came out pretty fast. Do come early on the weekend as there tends to be a line out the door. But I guess a good thing about that is that it'll give you time to decide on what you want to order.

Yelp
I've always wanted to try this place. I heard they were based out of Portland, Oregon. You walk through the door, grab a menu, then order at the countertop. Next choose your table and they bring your food out to you! I had some difficulty with one of the menu items it says 2 eggs and hash browns $5, but I noticed I was charged $5 each. It's not what the menu says. I would advise the owner to change the entry on the menu. I asked to remove the $5 hash browns. The Reggie was delicious, it's big so my husband and I split it and I had the side of scrambled eggs. The Reggie has a little spicy kick to it, but was good. I asked for a splash of orange juice when I ordered my mimosa but I got the opposite. I would definitely go back and try something else and order the Bloody Mary they looked good.

Yelp
My first time here. My daughter comes often and she pics winners. Well- winner. The staff is nice and helpful- they guided me through the menu and I had some fantastic biscuits and gravy - wow- sooo good. I found a new love for Reno. As soon and you walk in you meet the staff and they were very welcoming. it's home cooking biscuits and gravy- you get your coffee and put your dishes in the corner to help out- they staff too care of us and were very attentive with questions I had . The service is good with a family feel. It's like a fast paced home cooked meal. You clean up after yourself and the staff check on us - we tried to clean up - and they would let us it's like being a guest in someone home- what a great feeling. Oh- the coffee is self serve and freshly brewed when we came in- the fresh roasted smell really brought me back to grandmas house. I will be back .

Yelp
We first discovered this spot years ago while visiting Reno and fell in love with their warm, fluffy biscuits and delicious gravy. On a recent visit with a large group, we were able to find seating quickly, which was convenient. However, the ambiance wasn't as inviting as I remembered, and the person who took our order didn't seem very friendly. We ordered our usual favorites: The Reggie Deluxe, The Moneyball, and a few build-your-own options. Unfortunately, the food didn't live up to my memories, and the prices felt a bit steep--$15-$20 for a biscuit sandwich without any sides seems high. That said, it's still worth trying if you're in the area and craving some hearty comfort food. While it wasn't as amazing as I remembered, it's a place I'd recommend giving a shot at least once.

Yelp
Pine State Biscuits is easily one of the best breakfast/brunch spots around. I love a good sandwich and this place elevates the concept with biscuits for bread and towering delicious toppings, as seen in their Club, Reggie, Reggie Deluxe, and McIsley. The service here is great, we've always received exactly what we ordered without issue, and relatively quickly after order placement. The place is usually pretty busy, which is very telling for a good breakfast/brunch place, and everyone seems to be in great spirits around the dining room, and how couldn't they digging into such amazing food! Ultimately, this is the spot if you're a biscuit fan, and if you love fried chicken and ranch, get the Club and do yourself a favor - my personal favorite!

Yelp
TLDR: Fluffy Biscuits! I hope you like biscuits! Because this place pretty much only serves them. It's a smallish place, but they cook the food pretty quickly. I ordered mine to go. I like how they separate the gravy from the biscuit. I didn't like how they separated the egg from the rest of the dish though. Created unnecessary packaging, plus my runny eggs were spilling all over the bag. I like the gravy... it's thick and chunky with sausage pieces. My eggs were a bit busted though, as I mentioned above. The biscuit really is the star... it's BIG, but not dense. Light and fluffy, and a little bit crunchy on the outside. My wife ordered the Ham Egg and Cheese biscuit. They REALLY pack in the ham. The ham was a little dry. What we like is the value. For $12, you REALLY get a pretty filling breakfast. Plus BISCUITS.

Yelp
Visited Pine State Biscuits off a recommendation from someone. Walk in and order at the counter. There are menu available for you to grab to browse before ordering. Come early or near closing to minimize wait time. Actually walked by it by coincidence a few hours before I planned to visit and there was a line outside. Ordered at the counter, handed a number, sat at a table and waited for our order to arrive. Reggie Deluxe - fried chicken, bacon, cheese, egg, topped with gravy - heavy, tasty biscuit sandwich that's exactly what it sounds like. Opted for sausage gravy for more richness. Savory and will fill you up. Seasonal Pop Tart - a monthly house made pop tart that rotates flavors with the seasons - cute, generously filled, sweet but to too sweet Only downside was just that they seemed to run out of a number of things when we got there. Asked for coconut water... out. Asked for cold brew... out. Ended up opting for OJ but staff member kinda talked at me condescendingly like I should know they ran out of stuff. Sorry I'm from out of town so I'm not familiar with the cult following *shrug*

Yelp
I've driven by this place a million times and decided it was time to check it out. Easy street parking and location is conveniently located in the downtown/midtown area. Grab a menu when you walk in so you're ready to order at the counter. I went with a classic BEC- bacon, scrambled egg, and cheese biscuit. I grabbed a coffee as well--dark roast isn't my usual style but I was pleasantly surprised at the Coava option! Once you order, grab a seat and get yourself situated. My order came out within a few minutes. It was perfect. The cheese was perfectly melted but not overwhelming amount where it turns too greasy. The bacon had a good flavor to it and was crispy. The biscuit was fresh and flaky. The egg was good too. The staff is friendly and the vibe is laid back. I'm sure it gets packed on the weekends so I'm glad I got to check out a mellow morning. Don't forget to buss your table :)
google avatar

Yelp
I love the Hash ups! We've had the cinnamon rolls too! They took our order and we got our food in 10 minutes. We've been here before and the line is around the corner. Always a good sign for good food. Don't forget to bus your own table, but they were quick to wipe it down as soon as we left. They have seating outside and inside. They have a pop up structure for people to wait under outside if it's raining. That was new.

Yelp
This food is always amazing. I had a simple sausage, cheese, and biscuit sandwich and I was blown away at how good it tasted. I also ordered a side of Cajun fries and they were so so good. I'm not a fan of gravy, but my sisters love it and both ordered a mix of their mushroom and sausage gravy; they said it was better than grandma's at Thanksgiving. The indoor seating was very loud so we opted outside. Thankfully, it was a cooler week because there weren't any umbrellas at the picnic tables. But the tables were clean and quite comfortable for wooden picnic tables. The service was quite slow, I think they were understaffed; there may have been 10-12 people ahead of us and we were in line for over 20 minutes to order at the front. Then it took us over 30 minutes to get our food. This is not the only restaurant I have seen in recent weeks that is running on low staff so I think it's more of a widespread problem than just PSB.
google avatar

Yelp
OMG!!! This place is amazing. The biscuits and gravy are to die for. It's a walk up and order first place so be patient. The lines can be long but well worth the wait. There's a very limited menu so everything on it is made to perfection. I had the Moneyball Double Down with mushroom gravy. Pure heaven. The sausage gravy is totally different and equally good.
google avatar

Diane S.

Yelp
Wow! This place is good and affordable. Only street parking and we went on a Sunday not super busy! We will be back to try the other things. It's sorta self service but they had Benigets, pop tarts and a lot of choices as well as water on tap and this yummy bbq sauce that was self serve!
google avatar

Michelle T.

Yelp
Food was good but didn't blow my mind. No jam provided for the biscuits or butter as free side. Chicken fried steak was good but it's something I would be eager to come back weekly.
google avatar

Yelp
Little place big flavor. Pick up a menu just inside the door and order at the counter. Take your number to your table. Get your coffee cup and choose from the two carafes as you turn around from the counter. It was a delicious coffee. The sausage gravy with biscuits plus an over easy egg on top and black coffee made for a terrific brunch. The gravy is flavorful and the biscuit was large and fresh. They offer a mushroom gravy if you prefer. Please bus your dishes. You are ready to go. Street parking, some with meters some without. Outside seating also. This is definitely worth a visit.

Natalie S.

Yelp
Small place and you order before you take a seat. The food was perfect. I got the hash browns with all the stuff on it including an egg, my daughter got the blueberry cornmeal pancake, and my husband got the biscuits and mushroom gravy. The mushroom gravy was some of the best I've ever tasted and the hash browns we perfectly crispy and seasoned. Cornmeal pancake were perfect and didn't need syrup just butter and your good to enjoy. My daughter who has never had corn pancakes said they are the best she's ever had. Great place for the family.
google avatar

Jordan F.

Yelp
My review is a bit conflicted... Pros: loved the take on the "pop tart" and the rotating flavors of pop tarts that they have. It is pretty sweet, but delicious. The gravy really wasn't salty, and a lot of restaurants with gravy typically make it too salty, but this place did not!!! The corn meal pancake was AMAZING! The perfect crisp and flavor for the pancake. Cons: The biscuits were REALLY DRY, and this was surprising since this place is based around their dishes with biscuits. You have to bus your own table, so you clean up your dishes and table after. Parking is awful, it is downtown so you may have to park far or pay for parking at a meter. Because it is downtown, there are a lot of unhoused that hang out outside the restaurant, so that ruined a bit of the ambiance with noise levels and disturbances. I would come back, just not get their biscuits for myself.
google avatar

Tamrah F.

Yelp
Came for brunch on a Monday. We were able to sit right away but had to order and pay before we were seated. Cute place with a rustic vibe. Drinks were served right away. The Bloody Mary was decent, but I've had better. I would probably give it 3 stars. The star of the show was the blueberry cornmeal pancake. Maybe the best restaurant pancake I have ever had. Not too sweet, with a perfect ratio of blueberries. The cornmeal made it slightly crispy, but it was still light and fluffy. Delicious! The shrimp and grits were great as well. Nice amount of Cajun seasoning without overpowering the shrimp or grits. Would definitely come again!

Yelp
Got here on a Thursday morning around 10:50am usually this place will require a wait on the weekends so come during the weekdays if you can. Still crowded but no wait today Ordered the Reggie deluxe the only difference is the fried egg on top. I forgot to specify that I wanted it over easy as my egg was cooked all the way through... probably on accident but again I'll put that on my self for now. Food is delicious as usual. They have some different hot sauces to choose from, a habanero sauce, Texas Pete hot sauce and ketchup. The habanero sauce is actually hot so if you're not in to spicey, I wouldn't even try it, the heat hits instantly . Besides that it add me a different layer of depth. Would definitely recommend, last time I've been to one was in Oregon. Parking in the area is metered parking so be prepared to feed the meter if there is a long line on a weekend, if weekday an hour should be sufficient unless you're staying around to talk and hangout with friends

Yelp
My boyfriend's food came about half an hour after mine. Apparently they forgot about his food so when we finally asked it they brought it out and it was cold. By this time I already finished my food. After we asked about our food being late the staff seemed to be mean after the encounter so definitely not a great service experience. I got the Brisket Biscuit. The smoked brisket was completely dry and it came with mustard as the sauce. However, the side of side of gravy i bought for the extra priced helped the meal. The gravy was the only thing that tasted good. I've been to the Pine State Biscuit in Oregon and it was great so I'm disappointed this one was the exact opposite.
google avatar

Mickey H.

Yelp
I love Pine State. Everything fresh and everything is yummy. I got the Nashville Hot on my Reggie deluxe this time and i was kinda disappointed. It wasnt very Nashville and it wasnt very hot. It was spicy in comparison to their original chicken but i dont think in a blind taste test anyone would guess Nashville Hot. Food was still great as usual just wasnt what I expected from "Nashville Hot".
google avatar

Yelp
I think this could be the gold standard of breakfast. Brunch, even. I'm honestly recalling all my previous 5-star breakfast/brunch reviews. Were those places as good as Pine State? It's not just the food, which is great. I'll get to that. The service and speed is unprecedented. Yes, you wait in line. But once we ordered, our food was out in less than 10 minutes. Already?! And it was delicious: the Reggie deluxe, complex, and not too heavy (shockingly). The sausage gravy is a well-made novelty. I loved my pancakes. Buttery, but still more flavorful thanks to the cornmeal. The peach pop tart was revelational, even though the marshmallow frosting was completely unnecessary but delicious. The biscuits of course lived up to the hype. Buttery, flaky and not sweet. Get it with jelly. I personally wasn't smitten with the bourbon cinnamon roll, though it was good. Also, the coffee is quality which is a great touch. Other places should take notes!

Yelp
My last review, I was debating between 4 and 5 stars but ultimately went with 5. My most recent experience was without a doubt a 5, so I figured this review needed to be updated! The main reason I was considering a 4 in the past was the service and how long it takes to get your food here. There is still always a line out the door when we come but that's something they have no control over since you order at the counter. We still waited for 15-20 mins to order this time but it was SO worth it! After ordering, I had time to get my coffee and sit for a few minutes and then some of our side orders started being brought to the table already. I was very surprised at how quick they came out! We got the peach pop tarts, bourbon caramel cinnamon roll, and a biscuit with jam to share. I've decided I always have to get a pop tart when I come because they're consistently delicious. I think the peach one is my new favorite! It tasted just like a peach pie, complete with a marshmallow frosting. The cinnamon roll was rich and filling. The biscuits are made to perfection with jam that is just the right amount of sweetness. I was shocked to see our entrees come out moments later! All our food was brought out in under 10 mins this time, very impressive considering how busy they were on a Sunday morning. The Reggie Deluxe cannot be beat, it will always be my go-to order. The chicken is lightly breaded and had a slight spice to it. It's served with just enough sausage gravy to cover the sandwich and still have some for dipping. It's very filling and you won't need to eat again for several hours! Everyone in our group LOVED their food and were especially impressed with the service and timeliness of food coming out. Props to Pine State for really improving upon that compared to last time we were here, it made a big difference and we will be back again soon!

Yelp
Sometimes a review is based on how the food was prepared that specific day. I'm a huge hash browns fan and the hash browns were not great at all. Not so bad that I would send them back just not very good. Ordered biscuits and gravy. The biscuit was good and the gravy had a rich flavor of mushroom and sausage. The restaurant was nice with outside seating. Perhaps a function of how busy they were but food service was very, very slow. You have to bus your own plates. Not a huge deal but for the price I would have appreciated bus service.

Yelp
I was excited to try Pine State Biscuits in Reno after hearing positive things about the Portland locations from a friend. Unfortunately, it did not live up to the hype. The Reggies, Brisket Biscuit, and other dishes arrived barely warm, a letdown for food meant to be hearty and comforting. The fried green tomatoes were especially disappointing, as they were cold on the inside. Overall, the entire meal was poorly prepared. The atmosphere did not help either. The employees seemed grumpy and almost hostile, creating an unwelcoming environment. Although I realize that everyone can have off days, I have rarely encountered a restaurant atmosphere as unwelcoming as this. Overall, it was a serious letdown with nothing to recommend. I can only hope this experience was not typical, but I will not be returning.

Yelp
Below mid. Ordered the Reggie Deluxe and it came out in less than 2 minutes lukewarm. The chicken was not even warm on the inside, it tasted like the sandwich was already made they just microwaved it before serving. Looks like the prices have gone up AGAIN! I will not be coming back

Yelp
Pine State Biscuits was a wonderful treat for breakfast on my visit in to Reno. Walking in I was greeted by the friendly employees at the counter, who then explained the ordering process to me. The menus are right in front upon walking in. Then order at the counter, pay, receive a number to put on any open table. The dining area has a nice casual atmosphere to it. I ordered: Cinnamon Roll: this was so delicious, my favorite thing I ate. Warm, sweet, and total comfort food. Chicken fried steak and biscuit: I thought the chicken fried steak was decent. They use real steak but the star of that dish was definitely the biscuit. One of the best biscuits I've had and I'll definitely try the Reggie instead next time. Pop tart: they only had a lemon ricotta rhubarb pop tart on the day I visited. It was just ok. I probably won't order it again. Food came out fast. The employees were all wonderful. And most of the items were great. I look forward to coming back again.

Yelp
Wow - this place is great! I had The Reggie and could only eat half (I was hungry too!). The biscuits are fabulous, the sausage gravy was maybe the best we've ever had and the fried chicken scrumptious!

This place is in the downtown area and maybe not the best area but not bad. It has some nice seating outside and a decent size inside as well. They may have a more simple menu but it works and it's good. We for the deluxe Reggie and it was really good bacon cheese fried egg fried chicken in a biscuit with gravy you can't go wrong. Mcisley is what I got and it has fried chicken pickles local honey and mustard in a biscuit and it was also very good!

Yelp
We've been twice the first time we weren't sure we wanted to wait but thank god we did. It is worth the wait! Be sure to try the veg mushroom gravy in my opinion it is the best. Coffee there has a hint of choc flavor and is good. The ambiance is comfy and earthy and clean. You order at counter . Outside seating as well. I haven't had the pancakes but I saw a guy order biscuits and the pancakes and he was like a lil kid. So happy. If there's a line it goes fast and worth the wait I promise. We are from Cali and make a point to stop here before heading home.

Yelp
The biscuits and pancakes both were delicious. We had a bigger party so we had to wait for a table, which was nice that they had one reserved for larger parties.

Yelp
This place is good but it's gotten ridiculously expensive. The portions of sides have gotten smaller as well. Don't get me wrong their food is definitely good but be prepared to spend a good amount of money. The service is ok not the friendliest. On a packed day it can be harder to find a seat in the restaurant since it's pretty small. I might go again but probably not for a while due to the prices and smaller servings.

Yelp
My friends and I came here for breakfast on a Monday. It was decently busy with not a lot of tables available. However, we were able to order quickly at the counter and find a table to eat. Food: I ordered the biscuits and gravy with the mushroom vegetarian gravy. This was absolutely delicious. The gravy was flavorful, and the biscuits were perfect. I also ordered hashbrowns to share. The hashbrowns were good and crispy. I also tried the cinnamon roll. It was more bread like for a cinnamon roll than I am used to, but it was pretty good. Service: Service was quick and friendly. You order at the counter and are given a number to put on your table. The food is brought out to you when it is ready. The food arrived promptly as well. TL;DR - highly recommend this biscuit place

Yelp
Food - 5/5 Service - 4/5 Vibe - 3/5 My friend and I met up for lunch at Pine State on a weekday and had a great time! First time here and the food was delicious! I had the Chatfield and the savory/sweet combo blessed my soul!! I was worried my sandwich wouldn't be saucy enough for me like a like it, but within the first two bites the sweet apple butter came through and it was so yummy! The chicken was so juicy, not a dry bite! We had such a kind and attentive server, Dontay (sorry if I misspelled their name). He welcomed us with a smile, checked on us multiple times, and was quick to meet our requests. I gave service a 4/5 just because it felt a little understaffed and the wait time was slightly longer than expected. I will say though, my friend and I arrived, ordered, ate and left a few minutes after our 60-minute lunch hours. This place is good for small parties (4-7 people), quick lunch dates with coworkers or your even your boo thang, the price point isn't outrageous and you get a great quality of food. The vibe was a standard small food joint, nothing bad but also nothing unique. I found some street parking, but I know I got lucky because downtown parking can be a headache. All in all I look forward to coming back to this spot and trying more sandwiches!!

Yelp
Was in town and my cousin from the area recommended Pine State Biscuit as a must for breakfast. Let me tell you, she did not disappoint! The sausage gravy was on point and the perfectly spiced chicken with the thick cuts of bacon between a buttery flaky biscuit.... Omgggg! And of course I had to grab dessert, which was a warm cinnamon roll... ya'll... they hit it hard! It was amazing!! The environment was modern hipster and casual, which I really enjoy. The staff are super sweet and on top of everything. Definitely add this place to the top of your breakfast list and thank me later!

Yelp
Delicious, large portion breakfast goodies starring some incredible biscuits! Stopped here on sat morning with the family and tried the chatfield, fries, Reggie and Reggie deluxe sandwiches all of which were freshly made and tasted great! There is limited seating inside but outdoor tables too with heaters. Place can be popular but the wait wasn't too bad. Staff were friendly and professional. Street meter parking only. The hot sauce was pretty good too! They also offer some lunch options but we didn't try any this trip. Will eat here again for sure!

Yelp
I ordered the veggie reggie Deluxe and let me say, the portions are huge and satisfying! The vegan bacon has a nice smokey flavor and good texture. The vegan sausage isn't my favorite. It has a grainy texture and the flavor is alright. But it is a massive patty. Every other place with vegan options upcharges quite a bit for a smaller portion--- and I get it, vegan substitutes pre-made are expensive. But they don't hold back here! The staff is very kind and the wait times are pleasantly quick. The interior is full of warm wood giving a rustic, homey vibe. The windows let in lots of light, but beware it is chilly inside as a result during winter. Consider a light coat if you go. Unusual but sensible practice: you order and pay before you sit. The water is self serve and you bus your own table. No need to wait to be checked out. I have to go back again to try their sweets! A wonderful place for breakfast if you're a biscuit lover. No vegan options here though, it all has dairy unless you want just bacon or sausage.

Yelp
This is my husbands choice for brunch, hands down. We've gone to Pine State many times since they opened years back and have always been consistent with their products. Their biscuits and gravy are always a hit. the Reggie deluxe and moneyball are my go to's, doesn't disappoint. I've tried the shrimp & grits which is also yummy. Today I tried the bbq Carolina pull pork biscuit which is exactly what it sounds like. I think I was expecting more given that I was used to the heaviness of the other dishes I've tried in the past. Although the pull pork and the bbq sauce was delicious, it left me hungry. I tried to order the shrimp & grits after I finished my biscuit, but they were out of it! Their desserts as delicious! I've had their pop tarts and I will always order them everytime we eat here. The pop tart filling changes and yesterday it was a fig pop tart. The crust is baked perfectly and the filling was warm and sweet giving me holiday vibes. For a Thursday in between Christmas and new years it was pretty busy but an even flow of customers much of which were from out of town. A number of cars parked outside were from California. I love the style of pine state: order, find a table, self serve water, coffee, condiments, utensils and napkins, and bus your own table. My favorite rule is not to save tables, before you order as this helps with the flow of people dining in. If you're in the area, looking for a brunch place with comfort food. This is it!

Yelp
I came here at 10am on a late summer Sunday for brunch with 4 other gals. The line took about 25 minutes to get to the register. It is a small place so moving around was not an easy task. Our orders came out almost as soon as we sat down. I would not give much praise for presentation of the food. My friend ordered the same sandwich as I did, and hers looked sloppily assembled. I got endless coffee but making my way back to the coffee station for a refill was a feat in itself. The coffee/utensil area was dirty and uninviting. It was difficult to enjoy my time with other guests standing nearby waiting in line or for a table. The whole experience at PSB didn't have a relaxed vibe to it and that is what I look for in a breakfast/brunch place.

Yelp
The biscuit sandwiches were decent. Our favorite was the one with the sausage and mushroom gravy. I'd recommend the strawberry poptart if they have it! We came an hour before closing and customer service was great! They have indoor and outdoor seating. The restaurant was clean and open.

Yelp
We love a great breakfast! The staff was super friendly and the food was great. Chicken fried steak, a couple Reggie deluxes, and the blue berry pancakes. The kids loved it. I also ordered the BFK ?!? That thang woke me up!! We will be back!
