The rose-lavender oat latte i got was delicious! The staff person kindly filled my request of not making the drink too sweet (and even offered to add more syrup if I needed it). Friendly staff, delicious drinks! Can't beat that.

This is a really cool coffee shop. You can shop for some new shoes and other running/walking gear while you drink some delicious coffee. I got an iced Latte with sugar free vanilla. It was very good. There is outdoor seating and seating inside at the bar or by the front window. They have pastries to choose from if you want a bite to eat. They sale bagged coffee beans and will grind then for you if needed. This is a must try if you are visiting or live in the area.

A nice small coffee shop near downtown. The coffee is delicious, but pretty pricey. A bag of coffee is $23… The decor is interesting as this place doubles as a running shoe store.

Google
Got a Cortado and Iced Latte that were both pretty mid, I’d say the cortado was a little worse than mid. Bags of beans are not dated and going for $22???? Somehow the two drinks ordered took probably over ten minutes even though there was barely anyone in the shop- and it wasn’t great. Vibes were good- but they definitely need to change some things for this to be a coffee shop I’d wanna go back to given the other choices in the area.

Pine State Coffee is a hidden gem that captures the heart and soul of a small town coffee shop. Whether you're a local resident or passing through, be sure to carve out some time to experience this place. Pine State Coffee captures the essence of a relaxed and inviting atmosphere like no other. One of the defining features of this place is its team of cool and easy-going baristas who greet you with genuine smiles and a genuine passion for their craft. What truly sets Pine State Coffee apart is its ability to encapsulate the spirit of the small town. As you sit back, sipping your coffee and engaging in conversations with the friendly locals or simply enjoying a moment of solitude, you'll feel a genuine connection to the community.

Google
An excellent addition to our neighborhood. A place where you can get coffee in the morning and local beer in the evening, or vice versa if that's you're thing. They have big plans for this place in the coming months, including live music, local farmers market stands and more. Looking forward to watching Pine State Coffee grow!

Google
Best coffee in all the land! The staff are so rad and very welcoming. Their cold brew is literally the best I’ve ever had anywhere. They usually have some really tasty seasonal speciality drinks as well. Big fan of every part of this place! Local gem ❤️☕️

Google
Honestly my latte wasn’t that great. Not a fan of the beans used. The place has ALOT going on. It’s not just a coffee shop but lots of other things as well. Bathrooms were really taken care of and detailed with anything you might need. My husband and I enjoyed the outside seating early morning and enjoying some quiet time before it got really busy. Favorite part was the breakfast burritos served by a young man who came and set up outside. Those were some very unique burritos. He crafted each persons order one by one and very detailed. We had no problem waiting extra for ours.

Yelp
Not bad experience. They have their own small free parking lot. Not a ton of indoor seating, but there is a good amount of outdoor seating. The smallest size for iced was 16oz. Ordered a 16oz iced sugar free vanilla latte with whole milk for $6.22 before tip. The drink was pretty good, not the best I'd had. They had a good amount in the bakery case from some other local shops.

Yelp
Coffee was solid. Bonus points for having agave available as a sweetener. Cant say much about anything else as I went just for the coffee. I enjoyed my cappuccino very much. The parking was decent, I think the place can get pretty crowded as I wasn't able to find parking, but was able to park on the street not far. It was a strange moment when a baby roach fell the back of my neck, no clue where it came from, I feel silly mentioning it, but it was a bit strange. I casually grabbed it put it to rest. That was my cue to move on with my day.

Yelp
I stopped here periodically when I'm in the area their coffee is always absolutely delicious I must warn you though this is not just a coffee shop but it has running gear and shoes and all kinds of awesome stuff and their retail side of their business so if you like me who loves to run I find myself wanting to spend a lot more money in here and just for coffee the quality of the clothing and merchandise they have in the shop is very high-end

Yelp
I love the vibe here. It's a place you can chill at. Went mid-day and had no problems in their parkin lot, staff was good coffee was yum. I could see myself hanging out here and getting some work done or emails sent. Check it out if you are in the area!

Yelp
What a cool spot to grab a cup of coffee (and other treats and merchandise). There is plenty of seating outside. There is so much cool, different decor to admire. I ordered a latte with a shot of lavender. So good! I wish this place was closer to me- I would stop by all the time!

Yelp
Best coffee in Raleigh. Try the Nutella filled donut. Thank me later! Also, the staff is super kind.

Yelp
Really cool, coffee shop coffee was really good The staff was very friendly and welcoming.

Lancie W.

Yelp
Love the coffee shop atmosphere! Very friendly people, however the coffee isn't really good. It has a bad aftertaste.
google avatar

Ryan H.

Yelp
Cool place with outdoor seating. I ordered an oat milk cappuccino it it tasted like the sanitizer used to clean soda machines with. Not sure if it was my brain or the coffee. I'll have to go back again to check.

Yelp
Cool little coffee spot in North Raleigh. Oddly enough it is also a bike store. Their coffee was really good. Will definitely be back.

Brian K.

Yelp
Happened onto this place when looking for coffee shops in Raleigh. Odd location -- pretty much wouldn't ever find myself in this neighborhood unintentionally. One sip of their house coffee (drip, black), and I will make it a destination place again and again. Complex, minimal acidity, earthy (almost mossy) mouthfeel. Spectacular. The sensory experience compared to the first (and life-transforming) moment I sipped Stumptown for the first time. Knowledgeable baristas, sophisticated pastries, lots of outdoor seating. The coffee bar is a small, almost unassuming part of a store that sells running shoes and clothing (best On Cloud selection in town, btw), Staff was warm and welcoming. Pine State is a shining example of what makes Raleigh a great place to be...

Yelp
I love this little coffee shop in north Raleigh! The staff is super friendly, the drinks delish and the atmosphere is great for doing whatever you want to do. The bar-like seating up front is fun, but I like the outdoor seating on a nice day. Will definitely be making this my go-to spot!

Yelp
Man! I wish I lived here! I'd be at PSC every day. What a cool vibe! Great atmosphere; perfect volume for college students studying and friends visiting. Cherry tea was yummy (as was the Bacon croissant). Owner Hide was friendly & attentive. Have I mentioned I'd go back? PSC: when are you going to open a shop in downtown?

L H.

Yelp
Had a hard time finding this location at first but my coffee was really good. If I'm ever in that area I will go back

J W.

Yelp
Pine State Coffee is legitimately the best coffee I've ever had the pleasure of brewing in my own home. I've tried every single local roastery in the Raleigh area, and each time I've been let down. Not because those other roasteries are bad, but because Pine State has become the gold standard to which I compare each of them, and they always fall short. Buy Pine State Coffee. Support this business, because if it ever goes away, I don't think I can ever truly enjoy coffee again knowing that the best days are behind me. Buy a cup. Buy the beans. Buy the merch. Keep the dream of Pine State Coffee alive.

Yelp
AMAZING COFFEE! Best in Raleigh, hands down. Owner Lars is a great guy, very supportive of the local cycling scene. Can't go wrong with Pine State, and worth going out of your way for.
google avatar

Alex L.

Yelp
Lady didn't say hello when I walked in, just stared at me. I said thank you when I paid and she replied "mmhmm". Place was empty, might want to make customers feel more welcome. Food was days old also.

Yelp
Pine State finally opened their own shop, so I was excited to try it! They'd been roasting coffee and delivering to local businesses before, so I'd tried their coffee before but now they actually have a location where you can visit, have a cup of coffee/ latte/ cappuccino/ etc. They also have some snacks (baked goods mostly) and, of course, beans for purchase. They're still in between soft and hard openings, but so far it's a great place and the coffee is excellent!

Joshua J.

Yelp
Only good cup coffee we found after 6 days and 8 states of travel. Staff was super friendly and my only complaint is that I can't have another cup till November when I'm down for Thanksgiving. So coffee was dope, and the vibe there was very relaxed and chill. Definitely in the top ten of coffee I've had.

Yelp
Great full flavored coffee. It made me take a dump immediately, which is a sign of super high quality beans and skill by the employees. They had great restrooms to take dumps in as well so it worked out perfectly. Thanks Pine State!

Peony G.

Yelp
Welcoming and friendly barista. Also very knowledgeable and helpful! Urban outdoor seating which appeared to be dog friendly. Overall nice vibe

Yelp
I loved the open space and high ceilings! It had soooo much work space! I loved that they had outlets attached to the table because they want you to hang out and work or do whatever! I went to 42nd and Lawrence and spent $13 on an iced coffee and an over priced brownie only to find that they didn't have outlets and when I asked if he could plug my laptop up behind the counter (it was RIGHT on the other side of the counter from me, wouldn't have been a big deal) he said okay but then went and stood in the back and only came out for customers and then would go hide again without looking at me. I had to go to Morning Times and spend more money and it cut into the time I needed for my project. I LOVE the work space at Pine State. I even really enjoy the bike stuff on one of the walls. It feels like your hanging out at a friends house. Very welcoming. I saw some complaints about toasting your own pastry but 1) it's not rocket science 2) I really like that I can get it exactly how I want it. It would be too hot and if it's not warm enough, I don't have to go back in line and ask them to heat it again, or the other option, leave disappointed. I imagine that since it just opened and there aren't that many employees that they have the toast oven system so that you have the option to toast it (SO NICE they super didn't even have to put it out there!!) without slowing down the production of their craft coffee drinks. It isn't Starbucks where you hit a button and a shot comes straight out. They have to grind the coffee, tamp it (I think that's the correct term?) make the shot and steam your milk....would you rather wait in line longer while your pastry and everyone else's pastry gets toasted? What if you don't want your pastry heated? You'd still be stuck in line behind people who did. I think it was nice they put it out there. I can't believe anyone complains about a perk. I'm sure once they have more employees they will probably do that service for you, but until then, how about not find something so stupid to complain about? This place is super awesome.

Yelp
Coffee really is not good and when you order a croissant you have to unwrap it and heat it up yourself. This was a weird idea. Gives you your food and tells you the oven is behind you but make sure you take off the wrapper. The place is really cluttered. Paint cans on shelves and stuff everywhere.

Yelp
Warm, friendly and an awesome cup of coffee. Ample parking. Quiet, if you need to get work done. Go enjoy this coffee oasis.
google avatar

Amy H.

Yelp
Great coffee and the staff is super friendly. There's a good vibe in this place!

Matt W.

Yelp
I'd give it 10 stars if I could! Awesome coffee, very coffee-competent staff. Unique store with shared floor plan works well. Will definitely be giving my $$ to Pine State for their attention to detail rather than the big chain coffee shops in the area. Happy to have found this Raleigh gem!

Rebecca G.

Yelp
PSC is the go to place for coffee for me in Raleigh. I literally haven't had better coffee in my life. 10/10.
google avatar

Paul S.

Yelp
Very nice indie coffee shop with rustic/country vibe - I'll be back! Good hours for the area. Also offers various beers in cans. Super friendly staff!
google avatar

Jess F.

Yelp
I stopped in for the first time today and was pretty surprised. Cute spot and a very welcoming atmosphere. Not your typical looking coffee house...and I liked that. Good coffee, good eats and tons of room to work remote. I'll definitely be back!
google avatar

Nicole P.

Yelp
Delicious coffee. Super friendly staff. LOVE that they are open every day at 7a. They're still working on the space, but the outdoor area looks great and can't wait to come back and enjoy it. Much more of a laid back vibe than other coffee shops in the area. Kid friendly:)

Yelp
The best coffee in Raleigh. Omg these guys are the best!! Lars, Hide, the other dude. They are awesome!!

Lydia G.

Yelp
Pine state coffee is the best coffee shop in the world. The staff is friendly, the beans make the best brew, and they have so many milk alternatives. They also have a great selection of teas and snacks. Life advice: get an iced latte with oat milk.

Nathan V.

Yelp
I've had coffee at many places in Raleigh and this is the Best coffee in town. Take a bag home with ya, you won't regret it.

Sarah A.

Yelp
This place was so adorable and the staff was so nice! I really liked their chai. The workers were really accommodating too, they made my birthday 10x better :)

Emily B.

Yelp
GREAT coffee and baked goods! Rob at the helm infuses space with his friendly way. Local, yummy. Worth a visit, you locals and out-of-towners! Would have appreciated a "stay" ceramic cup. Kicking myself for not having my own!

M H.

Yelp
They know your name and they know what you like. They also roast interesting bean varieties in creative ways such as aging beans in whiskey barrels. A great neighborhood place.

Ariel H.

Yelp
Super friendly staff! Came in for just a refill and the coffee was super flavorful! Really cool sitting areas, wish I could have stayed to hangout!

Colin B.

Yelp
Very knowledgeable and friendly staff. Purchased a bag of their Sumatra beans and it makes a fine cup of coffee. They even take care to make a good cup of decaf which can't be said of other coffee shops. Will definitely make a habit of dropping in regularly.

Halerie M.

Yelp
Ran out of coffee this morning and stopped by on my way to work- was pleasantly surprised to find this place! The guys working were super friendly, coffee was excellent, and the space has a lot of potential. It was raining, but I definitely will be back to check out the outdoor area, which has grills, tables, and a porch swing.
