Pine Tavern Restaurant

Came in around 2pm for the Happy Hour Menu. We were promptly seated and greeted by the waitress. This is a really nice setting for a tavern. Felt like I was in Boston or something similar to that. The menu was simple yet full of great choices. We tried the Shrimp fajitas and the Fish Tacos. Both were excellent and I highly recommend! We had a second order of the shrimp fajitas right after because the sauce was so delicious. We tried the Huckleberry-Lemon cider which was tasty! For dessert, we finished off with Peach Crumbler. Our waitress was very attentive and prompt. So glad we stopped here on our way back to San Francisco.

We had a lovely lunch experience here! The food was delicious and the service was good. The views are quite nice in the dining room thanks to the lovely windows. I really enjoyed my steak salad and side of Mac n cheese! We shared an Italian soda which was so fun.

I travel for work and often try to find the local go to places. Pine Tavern came highly recommended so I figured I would check it out. I went in during happy hour and was impressed immediately. The staff was friendly from the moment I walked in and made some incredible recommendations. The happy hour food was top notch and the creme brulee was one of the best I have had. I have to compliment the service as well- Madison was personable and professional and did not stop running around the entire time I was there. Her recommendations were on point and I ate entirely too much food. The whole vibe was impressive. Go here- you will NOT be disappointed- I'm looking forward to the next work trip here!

Such a cute place!! The atmosphere is really nice. The staff are very friendly and accommodating! My daughter has food allergies and they were very helpful. The food was delicious! I highly recommend the chowder!!

Found this place while visiting the area for a concert. Sure glad we did. We were able to get seated quickly, very friendly staff. Food was amazing, and the drink selection was tasty. Would definitely recommend trying, you won't be disappointed!

Had our anniversary dinner here and we're wowed by the staff, views, food and atmosphere on the river. Sat outside comfortably, dogs allowed on patio. Inside looked lovely, too! Room for small and larger parties.

Located in a historic building on Mirror Pond. The atmosphere is excellent. The service is average. Good selection of main courses. I tried the Blackened Rock Cod with Beau Blanc sauce. Fish was a little dry and the pepper coating was excessive. Other in my party enjoyed a pasta dish with shrimp. Bill for 4 was $150 with the tip (no booze).

We decided to pick a random spot for our date night, and were so grateful we chose to go here. We sat down to wait the few minutes until a table was ready, and ended up getting to meet the owner. He was so talkative and welcoming. We chatted with him about our recent move to the area, our jobs, how we came upon this place, and he ended up covering our dessert for the evening. Food, service, and atmosphere were wonderful. We ended up going back the following weekend for our engagement celebration. Absolutely recommend Pine Tavern!

This place is awesome! Great ambiance, solid staff, a menu to enjoy for everyone and quality items served. Always enjoyed heading in here with a buddy after work, having a couple drinks, appetizers and enjoying the conversation. One of the top spots in the area for me.

Came here for the first time while visiting bend and the service was very "bland". Definitely nothing over and beyond. Unfortunately the food portion of what my husband had (steak fritas) was so small and not worth the price at all. Sweet potatoes fries were amazing and definitely recommended. Honestly we won't be back though.

Met some friends while we were in Bend OR at the Pine Tavern, a favorite place for our friends and a first time for us. We sat out on the patio along the river and what ambience. Our waiter was happy and whitty as he guided us through the wine list, the food was so good and we were having such a good time I forgot to take pics . Nevertheless the food was amazing; Fish and Chips, Pulled Pork Sandwich, Steak Bites, Caesar Salad and Chicken Marsala. And don't forget the Scones with Honey Butter. Go early because it fills up fast if you don't have a reservation, great place, amazing food and fantastic service. Don't miss out on this local gem. Mangiamo!

Full disclosure I didn't eat here. Just walked in because I heard it's a cool atmosphere with the tree growing through it. That was true. Comfy booths, nice views but obstructed by some items and construction. The menu has a great variety and I've heard it's popular especially among an older demographic. I was looking for a popping lunch spot to socialize and it was pretty quiet when I walked in. I would go back but probably with a friend if I lived here. Enjoy!

The line tavern doesn't look like anything from the street, but oh what a treat when you walk inside! The bar is pretty plain, the entire side is a relic with old style wood look and kinda swanky. We stopped in to get out of the heat and have a bevy. Wine, cider and beer were good. The real gem is the restaurant, there are small little dining nooks with curtains for a romantic dining experience. In the main dining room there are two trees that are growing in through the building. So cool! Menu looks inviting. We will need to come back for some food in the future.

Excellent food and service. We stop here every time we're in Bend. Parking is convenient in the lot next door. Highly recommend!

We were turned away at the inn on Christmas because we were late for our reservation . Luckily we found another location to have our CHRISTMAS dinner.

The food quality has gone down hill since the restaurant sold. The scones are not the same. Our food was mediocre at best. What a shame. We always looked forward to eating here when in town.

The food was very good. I had fresh halibut with buerre blanc and zucchini and sweet potato fries. All I recommend. Husband had fish n chips that he says was a little dry but tasty. The service by Kyle was impeccable. The Ambiance is A+ and worth the stop if you're in for a lovely dinner. We were visiting Bend for the first time so appreciated the excellent suggestions for food. The parking is ez and nearby but like many vacation spots is pricy and packed.

Spent the birthday weekend up in bend Oregon. Stumbled into cute little tavern after skiing up in Mt. Bachelor. We ordered wedge salad (shared between my bf and I) it was a good portion for us to split. Then we ordered French dip and Cuban. Both were absolutely delicious and their unique sweet potato fries with pickled onions and cojita cheese was delightful. Must go back when we go back to Bend.

Cute place with an amazing history in Bend. The waitress was so lovely to tell us the history of the restaurant and the trees within its dining room. My partner and I weren't super hungry so we split a bowl of clam chowder, the wedge salad and a Reuben sandwich. The chowder was under seasoned and lacking the star of the soup...clams! I would not order that again. The wedge salad is as crisp and delicious. Finally, the Reuben was tangy and delicious. We really loved it. Though the service was nice and the food pretty good, I don't think I'd return. It was a one and done for me.

The food and the service was amazing! Angie our server was awesome!!! Exceeded our expectations!! The atmosphere, being family friendly, made our experience over the top! We will definitely will be back!!! Highly recommend this place!!

We were going to a show at the Tower Theater and chose to dine at the Pine Street Tavern beforehand. Our server, Taylor, was superb! Our meal was delicious and the patio setting was perfect! I highly recommend Pine Tavern and ask for Taylor as your server!

We do love our classic go-to in downtown Bend, but a recent incident has triggered a negative vibe about Bend, and it affects this lovely establishment because it concerns PARKING. Bend has gone tragically wrong. Somewhere ... someplace .. A bit of history: Bend was once a logging epicenter. It was built by the sweat, blood and tears of hard-working folk with saws, rifles, horses, trains, trucks and buckets of sweat. Now, it's more for green glam 'progressives' who have decided they will have none of that. We are too high-fallutin' for all of that grit. Like work, Like trucks. So.... the City of Bend has instituted a unique parking equation. Take note of the parking spaces on the street. The stalls for vehicles have brackets painted at the end of the partitioning stall lines. If you drive a real truck, not oversized, just a real truck like a Dodge or a Chevy and it projects over this bracketed rear linea foot or two, you will receive a PARKING VIOLATION for IMPEDING THE FLOW OF TRAFFIC. Yes, you will. And it will cost you $50. If you are from anywhere else in the world, you will not be familiar with this insane and asinine practice. So, if you think of visiting Bend, don't drive a truck. You won't be able to park it. Also, eat quick and don't shop -- you only have 2 HOURS at most in these spaces! Bend businesses, step up. You will quickly lose the customer base who built you up. And you'll sell out to the ones who will undermine your very soul. Oh, very good Happy Hour Burger and Wedge Salad. Kudos to the staff, especially the very gracious bartender. Great beers on tap.

We had reservations for Father's day evening. The place was bustling. We were seated in the dining area, next to the signature trees. The food was OK. For an appetizer we had the seared ahi, which would have been better served as sashimi I had the fried chicken breast with gravy and potatoes. The potatoes were excellent. There wasn't enough gravy. Husband had prime rib and had to trim off so much fat. Overall food was unremarkable. Service was slow. I requested a box and waited and waited. Asked 3 times. We can say we've eaten there but we won't be back.

The Bloody Mary was fantastic and the Mac n Cheese was the best I've ever had. Creamy and crunchy. I'd hella recommend this place.

It's been going for quite some time. An easy pace, unhurried dining experience is very welcome in today's hurry environment. Our party of four enjoyed our late lunch/early dinner for nearly two hours without feeling rushed. The food is very tasty and huge portions (a rare combination in my opinion). Desserts are enormous! It is spacious with indoor and outdoor seating.

This is our second time and it was lovely! We shared a steak and Cesar salad! Both were very good!!!!! The steak was one of the best flavored steaks we have had! It was my husband's birthday so we ordered the Sky High Mud Pie and again the best mud pie we have had! We were there for lunch on a weekday and it was pleasant and the service was great! We love the view and the 2 pine trees in the middle of the restaurant!

We had a wonderful dinner here. Great list of whiskey options. Parking is minimal if it's busy. Reservation is advised. The table we had was private and perfect for date night. Outdoor seating is an option in the warmer months with views of the park.

We had the best food & service - Ashley was AMAZING and made our family dinner even more perfect The food was delicious, fast, and well paced. Thank you Pine Tavern Restaurant, Ashley, and PTR staff for such a wonderful meal & experience! We'll be back!

Pine Tavern is pretty much the definition of a local landmark having opened in the 1930's. There are already a ton of reviews so I'll be brief. - The space is huge and can hold a lot of folks with a variety of seating types (ADA friendly). Nice back patio when the weather cooperates. - Nice bar, although it's not particularly large. - The menu is similarly not terribly expansive but what they have is typically well prepared. - Good happy hour menu. Pine Tavern is noted for having one of the better happy hours in town. - Service is top tier. - Take some time to look at the historic photos on the walls. Recommended.

On 3/22/24 while wondering around downtown Bend for a place to have dinner at, I just happened to spot this charming looking place on a side street from a block away while walking by and decided to check it out on my second passing. Very nice atmosphere and I was able to get a table right away upon walking in on a busy Friday night. I really enjoyed the Hefeweizen drink and my steak salad as the entree. My friendly server was a chatty gal from Tennessee who recommended to me the scone bread pudding for dessert and it was very delicious. I will definitely be coming back whenever I'm in Bend again overnight or long enough for a meal.

The pine tavern was an okay place for us to take a load off after exploring Bend. This is located right in the heart of Bend and in walking distance to a great brewery and a ton of cute shops. I got the ribs and the French onion soup. They were both great and it server was amazing! Would definitely recommend if you're looking for a classic bar style place.

I came here during lunchtime with two others. The waiter took over ten minutes to bring us our drinks. He spilled one of the drinks of one of us, forgot who had which drink, and forgot what one of three of us had ordered. The outside was nice along the water, although there were yellow jackets. The drinks were not bad, though.

Absolutely fabulous, pt steak salad and chicken marsala so good. And the "scones" with honey butter were amazing. Great service, highly recommend

We visited on Christmas Day. It was very busy since not a lot of restaurants were open. We were able to share a table with two other people so we got seated pretty quickly. They were offering Christmas menu. I ordered Turkey with stuffing. Turkey was not dry at all. A bit chewy and irresistible. Gravy tasted great. I took a to go box since I couldn't finish all of it. It also came with a salad/ soup and a dessert of choice. The salad tasted very refreshing and appetizing. The colorful cherry tomatoes and dried raspberry made it look very festive. We ordered Bourbon Pecan and apple cinnamon for desserts. The bourbon pecan one was way too sweet for me. The Apple cinnamon pie was very nice. Great balance of sour and sweet. I'm very grateful that this restaurant was open while we visited Bend. Made the holiday season warm and cozy.

The food was decent. We ordered the pasta and the prime rib sandwich special. It was ok. The bell peppers overpowered the pasta, and the prime rib sandwich was thin shavings of beef. Great caramelization on the onions, though. I was least impressed with the cleanliness of our dining experience as a cherry stem was laid neatly on the corner of the table as we sat down. The unwrapped fork handle had dried food on the handle, and the bathroom door was held together by strait hinges. You would think with a $100 lunch with beverages and appetizers, the place would have a bit more ambiance and cleanliness.

Food was great however I felt the staff wasn't very friendly. I guess we weren't dressed fancy enough! Food was overpriced

WOW just WOW! What an incredible dining experience!! Food was outstanding but the service....off the charts! We were fortunate to have Danny as our server!! He was amazing! Personality plus and spot on when it came to timing and just overall experience!!

Table not ready at time of reservation - upon being seated, waitress was virtually non-existent until she brought the tab - never once asking if there was something else we would like....we were prepared to order more food. Good food but sketchy service!

What an amazing experience!! The Drinks and food were so wonderful. We had the Mac and cheese was the best my husband has ever had. And the onion soup was mind blowing.

Great cocktails and even better food. The river patio is open and the weather is perfect. Excellent service with a smile making for a perfect place to land on a sunny Saturday afternoon. Highly recommend. I had an espresso martini to start off and it was amazing. The truffle Mac and Cheese is yummers. I opt out of the bacon, but the shrooms are delish.

The service was excellent! Friendly, kind waitress, who was very attentive and kind to our family. The food was also excellent! We had the Alaskan fish and chips, the chicken sandwich, and the kids had chicken strips and the fettuccine Alfredo. All of which, was very good!

We arrived for an early dinner (4pm) but ended up ordering off their Happy Hour menu @ the historic Pine Tavern in Historic Downtown Bend, Oregon. The last time we ate there was almost 20+ years ago so it was nice to eat there as it brought back fond memories for us. I ordered the Pine Tavern Burger and my wife ordered the Shrimp Fajitas (both were on the Happy Hour menu). We inquired about their famous hot scones with honey butter, our server Madison noted they still serve their famous complimentary hot scones with honey butter but wouldn't be served until 5pm. So she said an order would be brought out for our dessert! Such a wonderful customer oriented server! Our meals were delicious but the service made our dining experience much more memorable. Note: rustic and comfortable ambiance, you must check out the Pine Tree growing through the back dining room! Caution: free street parking is limited but there is a parking lot about one block away for $1/hr which is paid at the parking kiosk (the kiosk accepts $1 bills but no change is given back if you want a 1/2 hour. If you use a credit card, there is a 16% additional charge).

The place used to be a great place to have a quiet dinner. The service was great but the food was pretty bad. We've eaten here in the past and the food was great but the night of 12/9/23 it was surprisingly bad. I ordered fish and chips which is usually a home run here but this time it had no flavor/seasoning. Tasted overcooked and cooked in old oil. My wife had the Mac n cheese and it was delicious. I hope this was a one time issue but I may wait awhile to have it again.

Excellent service and food. Sat on the patio overlooking Mirror Pond in downtown Bend. The Prime rib was cooked to perfection and the wedge salad and chowder excellent. Highly recommend!

Best Fish and Chips I've had. Not just good or great, best ever. Right on the River, can stay inside or sit on the deck, same great view. Great vibe inside. Server handled about 10 tables and never skipped a beat. Very impressive. I seriously doubt reviewers on this site when their rating is nearly a full star below most other sites.

Stopped in here for dinner and cocktails. Located along the riverbank of the Deschutes River, this restaurant is a nice place for any dining occasion with an amazing view. The staff was very nice and attentive. They have a great dining and bar menu with daily drink and food specials. I had the Pulled Pork Sandwich with a bottle of Oregon Pinot Noir. Both were terrific. Worth a visit if you're in the area.

Real nice friendly people good food . Had private booths also total plus! Steak fish or soup salad options good ginger beer for those nonalcoholic drinks! Also premium spirits too!

I Ordered the Chicken Marsala over a weekend visit to Bend, and the chicken was gummy, little to no sauce and overpriced. I don't mind paying that much for an exceptional meal, but this meal was anything but. I make this dish at home and know how it should taste. Won't be back if that is representative of their food.

Great prime rib 5++!! Chocolate martini, made me order 2 Great bar service! Hours are short, Bend closes early! Closed at 8pm, thankfully we were able to drink our drinks past closing time.

After a couple days in Bend, OR, I am left feeling impressed with the town but disappointed in the food. Until. Now. I couldn't decide between this place and the Bend Brewery. I really wanted the fish tacos at the Brewery. But after talking to the wait staff, the tacos were taken off the menu. And the vide wasn't what I thought. So I wandered over a few doors down to the Pine Tavern. I am so glad this happened. I just had the most delicious French onion soup and the biggest tastiest Alaskan Cod fish and chips. As if I wasn't incredibly full after all of that, I ordered the Scone Bread Pudding with bourbon sauce. This was the most delicious bite of deliciousness ever. The staff is friendly. The vibe is a chill bar with good music that's not too loud and the walls are plastered with original pictures. My diet is destroyed but my spirit and stomach are full. Go here asap.

The folks at our hotel recommended this restaurant, so we went there for dinner on Thursday evening last week. The restaurant was charming, the service was good, but the food was not worth the money. The seafood pasta was bland, but the steak was terrible. First, the steak came overcooked. Then, when we mentioned that to the waiter, he insisted on taking it back and giving me a new one. The new one was less cooked, but it was thin and full of fat and gristle - it was the worst steak I've ever eaten, but I didn't dare complain again. At least the baked potato and veggies were okay. I would never go there again.

I hope that our experience was unique, otherwise how could this restaurant call itself iconic and have been in business since 1936? But resting on your laurels and dismissing extraordinarily poor service cannot define a successful business model for very long. The waitress forgot to "hit send" when she took our order. At some point she remembered and came to tell us of her error. That can be forgiven, but extreme vigilance to make sure that attention to our table should then be first and foremost in her mind for the rest of the meal. It was not, and no offer of apologies or recompense were offered. It was a miserable experience. Hope you don't have the same. Or don't go there, it's loud, overrated, and average food.

"Keep it simple, stupid!" is often the best advice one to get and give to a restaurant and it's patrons. Pine Tavern gets it. It is just this: A Tavern. Rustic. Warm. Dim lighting. Quiet, but not silent. The game is on to help bridge the transitions between conversations and transactions. Serves: Tavern "comfort" food. Well cooked. Presented as it should be in a tavern. The service: No nonsense, straight forward wait staff that simply does their job well. The waiter was as efficient as they come. Attentive, but not at all "how is everything" aggressive. Sometimes. Often times. It just comes down to the basics. A traditional dining out experience done in the expected sequence. This was such a time. This was well welcomed and appreciated. We had the garlic Fries as an app. I had a cup of French soup. Amazing. Then main coursed the Fish & Chips. Others in my fam had the Mac & Cheese, and Burgers. Comfort food to the core. Bottom line: My family and I were able to unwind, exhale, actually talk, eat and leave rested and with fully bellies. This was a Plan C or D (to be honest) that became a surprisingly good, well welcomed, diamond-in-the -rough, happy-accident.

Pricey and not great food. I got chicken Marsala and didn't eat the chicken, none of us were really impressed and for the price I would expect more. Outside looked nice, but it was full so I didn't really get to see it. Really enjoyed the bread they give out at 5pm, as well my espresso martini was good.

Our grandchildren love the scones and honey butter. We do too. Good value. If you go for lunch in good weather, the river views from the outside seating are very pleasant.
