"A night at the speakeasy Pineapple Parlor is the most fun you will have in Galveston. It begins with subscribing to a newsletter, finding a pineapple keypad behind Daiquiri Time Out, and then walking into the bar over a misty moat fountain while bartenders light cocktails on fire. Like the Volcano Bowl filled with spiced rum and blue guava that’s served with a pyrotechnic flame-throwing fire show, as well as other tiki classics like pearl divers, fog cutters, and, of course, daiquiris. Plus, each drink comes with a snack, so feel free to belly up to the bar for an entire evening." - chelsea thomas, gianni greene

"A night at the speakeasy Pineapple Parlor is the most fun you will have in Galveston. To get in, first, you have to subscribe to a newsletter—which unlocks a four-digit code—head to Daiquiri Time Out’s back patio, then locate a tiny pineapple keypad. It’s tedious, but the scavenger hunt is worth it when you see a giant ceramic volcano drink on fire. The theater here is impressive. You walk in on a bridge over a misty dry ice moat into an enchanting tiki hideaway where bartenders mix drinks under a spotlight. First time at a Speakeasy, so glad this was my first experience! The owener, host & bartenders are the sweetest ! Very knowledgeable about their menu, not pushy and no judgemental vibes when asking questions. Love that the drinks come with small bites. Definitely a must go if you are looking to have a drink in a smaller environment. Will definitely return.

We enjoyed fantastic drinks and fantastic snacks in a fantastic space with a fantastic ambiance and fantastic service. But I want to highlight how helpful Sarah was in getting us a table. Due to poor planning, we were an hour and a half late for our reservation yet Sarah did all she could to get us not just into the space, but in a private booth. We were in from Houston celebrating my girlfriend’s mom’s birthday and everyone had such a good time. They just moved to the island permanently and I believe DTO and The PP Room just got two new regulars.

We had a great time here! The vibe of this little speakeasy was so fun, the bartenders were super friendly and welcoming, the drinks were delicious and beautifully presented and went so well with the food they paired them with! Will definitely be visiting here again the next time we are visiting Galveston ❤️

This place was awesome! We got here around 5 and went right in. If you sign up on the website, you are sent the code to open the door. Once you walk in, it is completely amazing. The drinks are not only adorable but made really well. I'm not a big drinker, and I feel like the drinks were a little on the strong side but still very tasty. Each drink comes with a small snack size food pairing that is well thought out, compliments the food, and absolutely delicious. I had the Port Light which comes with a light up umbrella and spam sushi(there is a real name for this but I can't remember it now). My husband got the pain killer that came with Mango Sticky Rice. It was odd and wonderful. I feel like for the drink and the food, the price makes sense. The atmosphere and experience is worth the price. It's a great stop for a drink, but in my opinion the drinks are too expensive to keep at it all night. It's great for a get together or a stop on pub crawl, but definitely not the place to get down and out drunk (Unless you like spending that much money, in which case, send some my way). It is a must see stop!

The volcano is a whole production! I love the food pairings. The drinks are a bit intense, so order one and see how you are feeling. They are amazing, but a whole lot. It’s a great place to chill and catch up with your friends. It can get full when it’s busy, so we don’t plan to stick around forever.

Felt like I was in am episode of SpongeBob! Drinks were great, and each came with a surprise snack. Waiters were nice. Had a long wait on a Saturday night, but enjoyed the band outside at the Daiquiri bar, which had great drinks too. Will be back

We came in to celebrate a bachelorette on a Monday night. Reservations were super easy and the table was already set up for us. The atmosphere is so cool! On top of the secret door and tiki lounge, there is an hourly “show” when lights dim and the bartender sets off flames. The drinks were incredible and come with yummy food pairings. The only damper to our evening was occasional curtness from the bartenders. Our group waiting for awhile for service and when we asked how to order, the bartender was a bit short with us. When we checked out, there was also a comment made about splitting the checks taking longer. We hope this was just an off night for them - but it definitely left a sour note to our time there.

Google
Okay, so you have to know the code and you should expect a wait to get in, but it is so worth it! The decor an ambiance are so much fun. The bartenders are so nice. My husband and I had so much fun, and I need to go back so that I can try all the pairings on the menu.

Yelp
I highly recommend making a reservation and having at least 6 people in your party. This bar has very limited seating but so worth it! As the door slides open you will enter into another world! I don't want to give away all the cool details of the bar but they really put a lot of thought and work into making you feel as if you have escaped to a tropical oasis! I love that they pair food with each drink. The portions are small but you can order more sides for around 5.00. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable of the menu and drinks. I wish that you could choose a different food item for each drink but they said you can't. My favorite drink there is the chi chi!

Yelp
This is a Tiki Bar speakeasy that is the best you will ever see. The interior is done so well that no other bar in the Houston can compare. Each drink is paired with a small bites appetizer to balance your experience. The service is exceptional and prompt. Think that the DTO experience is good? Well this is a higher level experience and it doesn't disappoint. I recommend getting a reservation so you don't have to wait. There is limited seating. There are only two tables for large groups of up to 10 people. The bar only seats a total of 11 seats. So the max is about 30 people at one time in the bar. So this creates an intimate experience. You must sign up for the newsletter to get the passcode. Call ahead to reserve a spot so you don't have to wait over an hour for access. Avoid doing a walk up. You will not be disappointed with the experience. Be mindful that the price of drinks is high because they give you smalll bite with the drink.

Yelp
This place is too awesome! From the decor and ambiance, to the service, to the food and drink... 5 stars across the board. I was excited to try it because I love the speakeasy vibe (secretive dark places please me so much), but how they hid it all is extra clever. If you didn't know it was there, you'd never be able to tell or find it. It's brilliant how they pair snacks with each drink, and we are talking top notch snacks! No trail mix or plain chips here. The drinks themselves are so inventive and I love their creative twists on classic recipes. You'll want to go through this whole menu.

Lisa R.

Yelp
Brad and his team have nailed it! This speakeasy style Tiki bar has all the elements that made places like Trader Vic's, Tiki Tatsu-ya, and Trader Sam's famous. It only seats around 30 people, making it even more special! Well conceived variations on classic tiki style cocktails coupled with delicious tropical food pairings made this one of my favorite bar experiences ever. Tips: Entrance is via a coded door lock! You must join their mailing list to get notified of access code. The code changes frequently, so do it now! As a party of 5 or more you can make a reservation at Resy. Otherwise, you'll have to wait in line to get in, which could take a while, but you can grab a drink at Daiquiri Time Out while you're waiting. I don't want to spoil the surprises in store for you, so I won't say anything more other than - GO, JUST GO!

Mike K.

Yelp
Very cool semi-hidden spot. Well worth a wait to get in. And if needed you can always grab a drink at the front bar.

Candy J.

Yelp
Transported me into an era of past time. The cocktails are spot on. The details that Brad has put into this place are incredible. It is definitely a passion for him as you can see by looking around. Service is great. So unique. Nothing like this around.

Jeff S.

Yelp
Service sucked took forever to get a drink my date was upset and mad also. Would pick somewhere else

Bernardo M.

Yelp
Went here during a small beach getaway to Galveston and was absolutely impressed! The ambiance was that of a traditional tiki hut and was giving very romantic vibes as well. The space was great for a date or even special gathering with friends (if you can reserve a table). I enjoyed that every drink was coupled with a food plate that complemented the flavors, it was truly a niche experience! The drinks themselves were also fairly strong and full of flavor, so that's always a plus, haha! Highly recommend getting the secret code to this spot and checking it out next time you're in Galveston!

Yelp
I am a huge lover of tiki bars and have been to many all over the country! I was absolutely thrilled to find out Pineapple Parlor existed and was only 30 minutes from me. We got there Saturday December 8th at around 5:45-6:00 PM and were told it would be about a 35-40 minute wait for our party of 2. I could see the list and it looked like there were just a few parties ahead of us! At around 6:45-7:00 we decided to check back in with the host as it had been about an hour since we originally put our name down. He let us know he was still waiting for a spot to open up but that we were next in line. So at around 6:45, we were next in line. This is important to remember. We waited for about another hour and during this time we did see 2 people walk in and get sat before us but we would like to hope they were apart of a larger group reservation and did not get sat at the bar which holds only 10 people. At around 7:45, we checked in again and were reassured we were still next in line but nobody had left the bar yet. At this point we were absolutely starving so decided to go elsewhere to find a snack, then have more food and drinks once we got to the bar. We waited more time after this, but by 8:45, about 3 hours since we originally put our name in, we decided to head home disappointed. I finally received a call from Pineapple Parlor saying it was our turn, at 9:39 PM about FOUR hours after we originally checked in with the host. I let the host know we had already went home. Since the wait time had been 4 hours, I asked if anything had happened where someone accidentally got sat before us and he said no. Remember we were next in line at 6:45 PM, so this means for 3 hours, no one out of the ten people at the bar left. I find this very hard to believe. I asked the host on the phone if there was anything Pineapple Parlor could do to help make up for this experience if we wanted to return, I suggested a reservation for 2 people or anything they could offer. I was sadly told there was nothing he could do and that this was "just the nature of this bar." If it is really true that out of the 10 people, no one left the bar for 3 hours. I have a couple of suggestions for this business. Either implement a max seating time for people at the bar to allow for other guests, go to a reservation system only for the bar seating with maybe 2 seating times per night, or do not take down names for a waiting list at all. Doing one of these things could help an experience like mine be avoided. I really wanted to try this place but sadly don't know if I will be back to try it again. I would love to know if Pineapple Parlor can do anything to make it right. For now I wouldn't suggest going here if you live some distance away and are hoping to get in. Overall I left extremely disappointed and sad. Going to this place meant a lot to me.

Yelp
Wow! We have been to many-a tiki bar around the country and world, and we were impressed. I initially found them on Instagram and my husband is a tiki fanatic and gets deep into the lore, so I knew we had to make the trip down from Houston to Galveston. The atmosphere was on point. You could tell they were truly craftsman of their trade and pulled out all the stops. From crossing the fog - crested lake upon entry, to watching the steaming volcano erupt through the ship's porthole window, it was truly an immersive experience. The drinks also did not disappoint nor did their house-distilled rums. You could taste the freshness and effort they put into hand - crafting their own spice blends and fruit juices. All the workers were extremely friendly and knowledgeable. An extremely enjoyable experience and we will definitely be back.

Yelp
This place was amazing. Delicious craft cocktails- I wanted to try them all! The decor is so much fun and our bartender Brittany was so patient and helpful as we navigated the menu. The small bites that come with each drink werre also very yummy!

Yelp
Felipeeeeee we miss you lol ok this place was great thank you for such an amazing time we will be back

Joe G.

Yelp
Excellent service, strong drinks, unique experience. We tried several different cocktails and each one came out with a little snack to eat with it. Our bartender was very kind and attentive and gave great recommendations on drink choices. We had the best time here!

Clint L.

Yelp
I almost hate to leave a good review because I want to keep this place to myself. The tiki drinks are exceptionally well crafted and watching them being made at the bar is almost a show in itself. Each drink is paired with a little snack to keep your fortified for the next one. The speak-easy entrance vibe is really cool and the style once inside is exactly where you want to drink that zombie or painkiller. So, don't go there, really, don't go there, I need an empty seat for me

Lauren E.

Yelp
Fun atmosphere and tasty cocktails. Loved the ambiance. It was a 45min wait when we went but it is a really small place and it was worth the wait. The price for each drinks includes a small appetizer that is paired based on the drink you select.

Christina B.

Yelp
I am giving this place two stars because the vibe is really cool and the idea is great. However, the service was extremely unwelcoming. The bartender came over to take our order and it seemed as though we were putting her out by ordering cocktails. We were there for a birthday and it really just brought the celebration down. I ended up walking out because she was just so rude to our group. My friends stayed and had one drink and left. Nobody was impressed.

Victoria V.

Yelp
Mel and Philippe were amazing! It is a veryyyy small place so try and come off hours but everything was amazing. From the ambiance to the service to the drinks/food. We had the BEST time and it was the first day of their new menu! So it was a lot of fun chatting with the bartenders about new menu items. Definitely check them out!

Yelp
We went to Galveston for our honeymoon and loved this place it was delicious and so much fun. The owner was talking with us and told us all about the drinks and the concept. The place is beautiful. Just make sure to make your reservation but 10/10 can't wait to go back

Karis P.

Yelp
This tiki speakeasy is one of its kind in Galveston and I'm obsessed! The owner, Brad, who also owns DTO, is so friendly and makes you feel so welcome. I love ordering the shareable volcano drink because it's the perfect amount for a small group or couple and it comes with 3 small bites instead of just one like the other drinks on the menu. Yes you heard me, every drink has a small food item included! This place is very on theme with a bridge over water, tiki huts, and various tiki related drink glasses. I've been many times and can't wait to keep coming back, 5/5!!

Mark M.

Yelp
I signed up online to receive the door code, but still wasn't able to get in, even in late September when much of the tourist season traffic has subsided. It seems that in addition to joining their online club you apparently also have to know someone to get in. Come on guys, this isn't New York City. Your exclusivity may have worked for the first few months when you're hot with word of mouth and benefiting from the summer traffic, but eventually you'll get a reputation for exclusivity where people won't even try to get on, and then in the winter you'll be begging people to come. I've seen this cycle with clubs in Houston that try to do the velvet rope exclusivity thing, they burn out fast, and it's going to be even worse for you down in Galveston with the seasonal cycles down there.

Eddie N.

Yelp
A seven week old speakeasy that's just as much fun as it sounds like. A Tiki bar that has a myriad of specialty drinks that each comes with a small amount of food perfectly paired with each. You have to have a code to get in, don't worry, just join (it's free) and they send it to you. You enter into a small alcove where they take your name and personally escort you to the seating area. This place is small and intimate. The bartender is the owner and is a gifted mixologist. It's a little hard to find but so worth the effort. Wow, we enjoyed it so much we can't wait to go back.

Andrew C.

Yelp
A+ tiki experience in Galveston! As of 6/2024 if you're going on a weekend, be prepared to wait. They only take reservations for parties of 5 and over. Even though we ended up waiting over 2 hours, the wait was well worth it. The place is pretty small, but chocked full of ambience rivaling Tiki-Tatsuya for those familiar. All drinks are all paired with a small side dish. The Jet Pilot and Mai Tai I had were awesome. Food is also very good. Chicken skewer and crunchy rice with seaweed salad was great, while the bao bun left a little to be desired as the pork tasted fairly unseasoned without the typical Char Siu/ Five Spice BBQ sauce expected. Being that it's fairly new, it seems like this place is still settling in. I am looking forward to coming back very soon and seeing how they will make an awesome experience an unforgettable one.

Hank R.

Yelp
Go....NOW!!! Bartender staff, especially Mel!!!! So sweet and knowledgeable. She took exceptional care of me and educated me about the drinks, food, and bar itself. You get a single potion appetizer with every beverage. Who does that? And they, like the drinks, are tasty and unique. I'll most definitely be back!!!!

Randall P.

Yelp
Fun new addition to the island. Great tiki bar ambience. The owners did a great job on the decor. Nice menu of tiki bar inspired cocktails. The Chi Chi was my favorite.

Jimmy M.

Yelp
My husband and I tried this new speakeasy for the first time this past weekend and we loved it! From the ambiance to the servers, the drinks, the music and more, everything was top notch. Truly a tiki experience that we can't wait to experience again with family and friends!

Riley P.

Yelp
This was a really fun place with a unique atmosphere. The drinks and service were great and the drinks come with surprisingly delicious food pairings. This place is a perfect addition to Galveston and we will absolutely be back for more!

Adrian P.

Yelp
Very cool concept and atmosphere! We enjoyed the drinks and the food. Gotta try this place.
