Pinecrest Bakery Bird Road - Review - Bird Road - Miami - The Infatuation

"There are Pinecrest Bakery locations all over Miami. Now there’s one more on Bird Road, which marks their third location on this street alone. It’s good news for people who think there’s no such thing as too many coladas, pastelitos, and croquetas. We haven’t been here yet, but want you to know this spot exists." - Mariana Trabanino

Google
Always a wonderful time when I visit this location, from the staff to the food,etc... we'll done!

Google
The staff of this place is amazing, always attentive and working so hard to fulfill every order in the fastest time possible, even in the most busy time of the day. Milk and Betei are very professional and friendly and knows the majority of their costumers order even before we order. The previous manager is so far the best manager that I know for any business and so far the new is doing a very good job. Keep it going girls!

Google
We ordered an Anniversary vanilla cake with pineapple filling, and it was absolutely delicious. People had cake 2 and 3 times. We were able to pick it up on Sunday to keep the surprise alive. Thanks for all.

Google
Thank God, the deliciousness of Cuban, pastries and coffee has evolved and continues to increase in South Florida. Don’t forget to visit Pinecrest bakery for all the wonderful pastries and coffee and they’re open 24 hours…… great sandwiches and empanadas…. Baked chorizo… croquettes… lots of goodies too many to mention!!…. Maybe they’ll open in Cuba one day….

Google
Just want to say thank you for being 24/7. Our loved one was passing and we ordered coffee and pastries at 2:30 in the morning and you all were quick and accurate.

Google
I have been coming to this bakery every morning for years. Lisbetty, Milka and Wilfred are amazing, very friendly and make my order when I walk in! My daughter’s love coming with me sometimes to see Lisbetty and Milka, my youngest Sophie likes practicing her Spanish with them. All around a great place with good food and great employees!

Google
This place is the best. They are like family. Service is great and food never disappoints. The crew that works here is absolutely the best. .

Google
Extremely unorganized, spent 20 mins waiting for a pickup order that I received a notification was “ready” as I parked. After the 20 mins, I am told that I am waiting for them to start cooking part of the order and asked me if I wanted a replacement. I asked for a toast and croqueta as the replacement and waited an additional 20 mins. I love the restaurant but left very disappointed. I will not be going back to this location

Yelp
Lovely new store Very helpful staff and eager too! My only negative comment was the power went out. I ordered a colada for the staff next door and they made me pay in cash and since I didn't have any cash I had to walk out empty handed. So sad but still love this place!

Yelp
It's alright, this location has no wifi, airy. Anyhow it small but not very busy it's a alright place to be idk I just leave good reviewsss

Yelp
The food is delicious. This place gets pack. The line was long. Only 4-5 small table available. Service is delayed because they are busy. Workers try their best to work fast. Took 20 min to get my to go order
google avatar

Yelp
Love this place ! The pastries are always incredible and the service is always quick. It does get busy but they are always prompt.
google avatar

Yelp
They're always busy in the morning and don't have enough help. A simple order of coffee and a pastry takes longer than it needs to be especially with the inconvenient parking. Not the place to drop in if you're in a rush. To avoid this, place your order online and pickup at counter. You will have to fill out a check out log which is very strange but I guess it's to track orders.

Yelp
Hands down the best Pinecrest location of them all. The food is super fresh and all of the staff is friendly and very helpful. A testament to this is the long lines that form at their peak times! Delicious croquetas and toast! We always stop by when in the area and have yet to have a bad experience!

Yelp
I have visited this location twice now. The first time was quite frustrating. It was a Friday morning and the place was packed. I walked in and stood there trying to figure out where to order or be served. It was very visually confusing as there was a counter where people seemed to be ordering but also a register where people were ordering. People came in after me and it was then that I noticed they were getting number tickets. I quickly grabbed one before I further lost my place. The ticket dispenser is not very visible and if you have not been here before and it's crowded, you will miss it. Anyway, once I got my number I still had to wait for several minutes to have my order taken, then wait for it to be prepared, then pay- and overall this stop took a lot longer than I cared for. It felt hectic and stressful. The second time I visited was also during the week. This time it was much quieter, thankfully. I grabbed my number immediately upon entering and overall the process was smoother and more pleasant. The cafe con leche was really good. Service is ok. They are not overly polite or friendly, so don't expect to be wowed, but it's standard. This location is very convenient for me when I'm on my way to work and I have enjoyed the food and coffee, so I will visit again.

Yelp
The service is amazing, especially Milena y lisbetty they are the best I recommend the place 100%

Max M.

Yelp
We ordered for pickup through yelp... Service was incredibly rude and not helpful. I had to wait 20 minutes after the food was ready.

Yelp
Truly authentic Cuban bakery with every single pastelito, sandwich, cakes and all are made with love. The staff is even more amazing which makes it always a great place to stop! Super clean and pleasant spot to enjoy your snack! I added a picture of just how sweet this place is since they even remember nickname I use to order my coffee:-) Thank you Mayra, Willy, Lisandra and company! YOU GUYS ARE THE BEST!

Charles J.

Yelp
Waited 30 mins after I order for a toast.... If you don't speak Spanish they will IGNORE you so prepare yourself to be disappointed and disrespected

Yelp
Pinecrest is one of my favorite bakery chains in south Florida, so when I see one, I know I can get something good & it's better & cheaper than most cafes. I love their Cuban coffee & pastelitos. They're also clutch for having a points system, & always send you things for free food & drinks.
google avatar

Luz H.

Yelp
OK at best. This is the closest bakery to me so I go often for convenience. But honestly wish it was alot better. Most of the time its a hit or miss. My order this time : Papa rellena - was ok Pastelito Carne- good Pastelito Guava- good Croqueta Casera Jamon- was ok Tequeno de queso- very good This place is usually packed on the peak morning hours but they have alot of staff and usually take care of you quickly.
google avatar

Yelp
I order almost every day from Pinecrest bk, today i had the Best Cuban bread ever tasted, amazing Thanks you. Ok
google avatar

Nathaly M.

Yelp
The croqueta de la casa, has all the potential to be great....but,they're so bland. Please add a little saborsito.
google avatar

Yelp
Always friendly service and happy smiles from the crew. I recently bought went to buy a cake for my children's birthday party. I went last minute to get everything, and I was told that orders are taken three days in advance, but they were surprisingly accommodating and got everything done within a day!! I was so grateful and amazed. Good customer service is essential in keeping customers happy!! Love this bakery!!!
google avatar

Raquel P.

Yelp
The pastelitos are good but the best one is the Cangrejito de jamon. Unfortunately they never make them and instead they do cangrejito de chorizo which is way too strong of flavor. Everyone comes and asks for Cangrejito de jamon and this bakery when they make it is only a few of them. They should pay attention to inventory of things that sell and people want. Also I bought a slice of choco-flan and it was old and dry.

Yelp
Pinecrest Bakery is the nearest place for me to satisfy my croqueta and cafecito fix. That being said, I'm probably here every weekend! The bakery is always full, but they work off of a number system so you don't need to worry about flagging down a friendly employee. They've got sandwiches, custom cakes, postres galore and of course - croquetas! I spend my time in the first refrigerated section which consists of croquetas, empanadas, papa rellenas, pastelitos and all that other perfectly fried goodness. They have regular croquetas and also croquetas de la casa which are larger, more flavor-filled version of their croquetas. They also make a mean cortadito that is the perfect amount of sweet. Pinecrest Bakery gets 3 stars for it's consistency. You can always (it's open 24 hours) find something good (not great), for a great price. For those of us that are looking to eat on the lighter side, they also offer really good options for breakfast like eggs your way (which could be egg whites). Not typical for a cuban bakery, so that is a huge plus!

Yelp
A well-stocked bakery that's open 24 Hours, 7 days a week? Nice! I stopped here on my way to have dinner with friends at one of their homes as I was asked to bring a dessert and I don't bake. I wanted to bring something nicer / more unique than Publix or Winn-Dixie bakery, and Pinecrest Bakery seemed to fit the bill. A slice of Oreo cheesecake, a slice of strawberry cheesecake, a slice of tiramisu and a slice of one other cake came to about $11 total. Everything I bought was excellent and tasted fresh (as opposed to being made early in the morning and sitting in a display case all day...that wasn't the case here) and the desserts I purchased at Pinecrest Bakery were appreciated by everyone. Note that this place does include an extra charge if paying via credit card.

Yelp
Great little bakery around the corner of my house. It has all types of pastries, pastelitos, empanadas, cakes, Cuban bread, coffees, and sandwiches. It is usually packed in the weekends so when you come in please grab a number and wait for your turn to be called. I've tried the empanada, pastelitos, cafe con leche but my absolute favorite is the croqueta de bacalao (cod croquette). It's crispy on the outside, gooey on the inside and packed with flavor. I'll definitely return for more.
google avatar

Yelp
Classic wonderful Cuban bakery with freshly baked pastries. Very friendly service everyone was excited to help me and help me figure out what to try for the first time. I will come back!

Yelp
I LOVE PINECREST BAKERY! Wake up wanting a hot cafe con leche with una croqueta de jamón and a tostada de mantequilla *chefs kiss* i can not express how much I love this place. Highly recommend!!
google avatar

Yelp
I can't sing enough praises about this staple of a bakery in the south miami area. I love this place. Like actually love this place. Anytime you see a line for a business and the customers are upset it reflects poor service. In this case a line with smiling faces reflects great food and service. I'm always helped by Milca, Milena or Yanara; each as kind and attentive as the other. I've received nothing but friendly, fast and courteous service from them time and again. My reviews have one consistent theme: customer aerviceProTip: call your larger order in ahead of time to ensure it's ready and you don't wait in line.
google avatar

Melanie O.

Yelp
Pinecrest Bakery is within reasonable speed, friendly and delicious! My only complaint about this location is that getting a number is right next to the door so many people crowd around the door and don't continue walking forward. But every pastelito is delicious. You can't go wrong with the classics, I ordered a pastelito de queso, guava, carne and a croquetta and a café con leche all for less than $10! There aren't that many seats either and parking can get a bit hectic in the location. But it's open 24 hours, the pastelitos I've always had are fresh and a decent size! It's my go to Miami bakery!
google avatar

Adrian P.

Yelp
love the fresh food at 530 AM when I stop in before work, but just horrible work habits. It's custom that they handle two orders at the same time and the wait takes twice to three times as long as a result. I can say that its one person, but really it has spread amongst all as there is never a manager on site. Even if you tell them politely that you were here first, they still will do it they next day. Going back to Vicky's on Coral Way and 80th, May be a bit out of the way, but that doesn't happen. And read the review below from Carlos S, pretty much the same complaint.

Amanda T.

Yelp
If I'm in the area & must have some pastelitos, I'll stop by but I dread it so much. The bakery is pretty spacious with seating areas inside. The food is good most of the time. They make some really good pan con tortilla. And my pastelitos today were just warm & the croquetas kinda cold. But the attitude...my goodness, never fails. I stop by periodically since it's close to work so I know some of the girls have been there a while. But you're greeted with a face that says "I don't want to be here". They also have a numbers system that is all over the place in the mornings. This afternoon I went to pay with my card (total $5.76) and I'm told it's a $6 minimum. I mentioned I wasn't aware since last time I was there it was $5, I didn't have cash & there was no sign. She asks me if I want to order something else, while the other girl tells me the $5 minimum didn't even last a day, whatever that's supposed to mean. So there I am looking at them in disbelief over 25 cents. At the end the lady told the one charging me to just charge me, but she did it by just waving her hand at her. I don't know if all bakeries are the same, but the one by my house, doesn't treat their customers this way.

Giselle G.

Yelp
There's always items missing on orders. This is not the first time it happens. I ordered through Grubhub but it's really the businesses that do not provide the items to the drivers for them to deliver correctly. I'm not going there again ...this business always does something wrong with the order... misses items etc. etc.
google avatar

Amaury J.

Yelp
They were great! I think this is the best Pinecrest Bakery I've been to. The staff was friendly and attentive, and they were very quick. I placed my order over the phone and it was ready in 20 mins. I went in, picked it up and paid in store. I would definitely come back and order from here again.
google avatar

Olga A.

Yelp
My mommy my sister swore and swear by this business it's a Cuban/restaurant it's actually very famous it's a chain to be exact they have at least about four of them and everything they have is Cuban so if you like Cuban dishes and you're happened to be American invited to go buy one and taste or pastries or even their sandwiches she's all extremely delicious mom orders everything from them because they do cater out as well up to birthday cakes in and say they're pricey but it's worth it
google avatar

Brittany B.

Yelp
I LOVE Pinecrest bakery, and they have the best Cuban pastries. But some of the staff at this location is so mean.
google avatar

Alton W.

Yelp
Terrible, terrible customer service. Arrogant, rude staff. If you speak English, this isn't the place to visit as the staff do not or rather pretend that they do not. No apology needed after the fact.
google avatar

Leslye L.

Yelp
Loyal to this bakery, it's still my favorite! The service is always a pleasure and everything is always delish + fresh. Tip: The breakfast menu is LIT! My favorite staff members are those in the AM shifts. Haven't found another spot that tops off Pinecrest. Highly recommend.

Yelp
Excelente bakery muy buena calidad su oferta y sus trabajadoras de la madrugada de 5 estrellas su atención Ana y Yaimy 100% recomendado
google avatar

Yelp
I'm stuck between 2 and 3 stars here. As a bakery, it would earn a solid 4 stars from me. It's not the best in Miami, but it is consistent and very good. So why 2 stars? The service. That's it. I thought their location on US-1 & SW 67th Ave was bad. This one is worse. The way the employees speak to the customers is downright rude. They seem bothered by having to help the folks that are spending their money to pay their salaries. One of them rolled her eyes at just about anything anyone would ask her. It must be a toxic environment back there that is in need of new management which I believe is all it would take to make this place the inviting, fun place it could and should be.
google avatar

Alexa C.

Yelp
It's important to have a nearby bakery open around the clock serving pastelitos in every flavor and hearty Cuban staple sandwiches ready for those early mornings, mid lunch meals, and late night cravings. Sure, it can be a bit annoying at times when there's a long line especially if your order is complicated but that's everywhere. Cafecito is prepared here by the minute and that's vital to fueling Miami's neighborhoods with our preferred caffeine potion. Have your order ready by the time you reach the front of the line because it does get hectic at times. You'll be able to walk to the counter and point at the items you want since they are not all labeled. For some reason, I always incline towards the cheese croqueta. The sandwiches are a great to go item for your lunch break when coming during breakfast hours. The prices are low so you can take plenty of items to go for sharing purposes without breaking the bank.
google avatar

Nicole L.

Yelp
I have stopped here once before at a different location. Both locations I have been to look almost identical. There are an array of Cuban and other pastries. But this trip I was after a cafe con leche after running the miami half marathon. I asked for one with just at a little sugar and that is exactly how I got it. The one thing I really liked was that it was not to hot to start drinking right away. Some other places serve it too hot and you have to wait for it to cool down. Next time I will have a pastry too!
google avatar

Eni N.

Yelp
I was craving pinecrest bakery since last night and went this morning. I asked for a cafe com leche and got hot milk - no coffee whatsoever. My tostada was burnt and inedible. I am not a wasteful person nor do I leave reviews but today was a first. I threw the entire breakfast away and leaving this review. Sorry, but it takes forever to get served then to only get home and it's awful.
google avatar

Shan G.

Yelp
This place has everything you could possibly want. The food is amazing and cheap, they're open 24 hrs, the staff is friendly, the place is very clean, and the food is prepared very quickly. It's super ideal for all the college kids over here. For $11.50 you could get a yummy sandwich with freshly baked bread, a ton of fries or chips, and a drink. Highly recommend
google avatar

Felix M.

Yelp
Fast Friendly and great taste. Make sure you get there early and pull a ticket or you will be waiting for a while. Either way it is worth the wait.
google avatar

Ruben V.

Yelp
Place is ok for pastelitos and stuff like it, don't waste your time ordering breakfast, I have tried them several times and they just don't know how to cook, the eggs are burnt and the fries are soggy and full of grease, don't even ask about the bacon and ham
google avatar

Carlos S.

Yelp
30 min to buy a coffee, and there's wasn't a lot of people in line only 4 people in front of me and took 30 min to buy a cup of coffee. Slowest service of all Miami bakery/coffee shops. 30 minutos para comprar un café, no había mucha gente, solo 4 personas por delante. 30! Min por un café, la panadería/cafetería mas lenta de Miami. Un desastre de logística.
google avatar

Liz G.

Yelp
The customer service here is way better than the other location I've reviewed but recently my pastelitos, empanadas and coffee have tasted funky. :/

Esmari L.

Yelp
They suspended the purchase points without alerting their customers. The company changed their system and no longer honors the hard earned accumulated points for a free breakfast or other. When my husband asked why no alerts were given, so the points could be used, the employee proceeded to say they didn't know why that it was a management decision. Poor management. We'll have to change to Vicki Bakery, Versailles or the better croquetas of La Carreta. Any other establishment with better quality items and valuable customer service.
google avatar

Emily H.

Yelp
I am updating review because their guava pastel is very good. The guava filling has a unique flavor in comparison with other bakeries. Keeps you guessing on what it could be in a good way.
google avatar

Maria E.

Yelp
Sadly everything we ordered was dry and old. Everything seemed to be from yesterday's or two days ago's batch. The pan de Bono- hard as a rock and DRY. The tequenos, dry.... we ordered 3 cafe con leche WITHOUT sugar- THEY WERE ALL LOADED WITH SUGAR. When asked "these are without sugar right?" The lady said "yes!". Won't be coming here ever again.
google avatar

Patty B.

Yelp
I have to give it a 1 star. What an unpleasant experience with the person who helped me. So rude not friendly or helpful. She was actually bothered with my questions. Only stopped here for my daughter. So rude
google avatar

Len L.

Yelp
Great Place! For a Bakery, the decor is pretty nice (dark woods and stone tops)... Food is good and wait staff is extremely quick in responding to customers. The place is even open 24 hours - what more can you ask for? Re: Food - Good, solid Cuban bakery. Have never had anything bad here and everything is fresh - always... even overnight they have a cook and they are bringing in fresh pastries. Good Pastelitos, Good Croquetas (and several types - flavors and premium "House" croquetas). The empanadas are all good... even have a Colombian one. I think that their sandwiches are VERY GOOD... and prices are reasonable at about $5.99. Try the 'Croqeta Preparada' or 'Medianoche' (my favorites)... Steak Sandwich is good also. They have a pretty good assortment of beverages (juices, sodas, Coffee Drinks). Sweet pastries always good and fresh. Honestly - what's not to like??? Good place - Try for yourself!

Jackie V.

Yelp
2 starts for stupidity. The sign outside says OPEN 24 HOURS. My husband and I went at 9:30PM and they told us they were closed.
google avatar

Lourdes A.

Yelp
Cannot believe what a deliciously made cortadito and pastelito de guayaba can do for the morale---euphoria!! And , it was empty, too. I guess people just ordering by phone. Everything tasted like Versailles; different than usual. Maybe, Versailles bakers assisting, now? Anyways, best pastelito I've had for a long time and croquettes AND cortadito.
