"Toothfairy Bakery is a dessert shop in South Beach that has soft serve and an assortment of cookies, cakes, and pies. All of the above are really delicious, especially the incredibly creamy and perfectly flavored soft serve. The baked goods are great too, and heavy on childhood nostalgia. One bite of the phenomenal oatmeal cream pie or the fudgey cosmic brookie is enough to give you summer camp flashbacks - while also making you mad at your favorite childhood snacks for not tasting this good. It’s mostly a to-go operation, and there are only a few seats inside the small shop, which is pretty minimal other than a paint job that makes you feel like you’re trapped inside a giant piece of cotton candy. Food Rundown photo credit: Michael Pisarri Soft Serve This is some of the best ice cream in Miami. The pillowy ice cream holds its shape but is still soft enough to run a plastic spoon through with zero resistance. Flavors include cookie butter, almond joy, taro, and strawberry. You can also mix flavors, which is a particularly good idea with taro and strawberry. Oatmeal Cream Pie The oatmeal cookies are delicious and the perfect consistency for a cream pie - firm enough to hold everything together but not so hard that cream squirts everywhere (stop giggling at those last three words, please) when you take a bite. The cream also has a great coconut flavor. If Miami had a Cookie Olympics, this would be our pick to take home gold in almost every competition photo credit: Michael Pisarri Banana Split Cake This cake is one of the most visually interesting ones in the display case - and it tastes good too. It consists of three multi-colored layers of cake separated by (what tastes like) dulce de leche. On the outside of the cake, there’s a very aesthetically pleasing banana frosting that looks like The Michelin Man, if he made a wish to become delicious. Guava Piña Colada Cake This cake could not have a better name, because it tastes exactly how it sounds. And this is good, because “guava piña colada” sounds (and tastes) objectively wonderful. photo credit: Michael Pisarri Cosmic Brookie If your mom used to pack Cosmic Brownies in your lunch when you were little, these are going to trigger some serious childhood flashbacks. This version is more of a cookie/brownie hybrid and, sweet nostalgia aside, they are 3,000% better than the ones we remember eating when we were in fourth grade." - Ryan Pfeffer

**A Must-Visit in Miami Beach - PineCrest Café** If you're on Alton road and 15 St looking for an authentic taste of Cuban-American culture with a delightful twist, PineCrest Café is the place to be. From the moment I walked in, the ambiance was inviting, with a spacious and cozy setup that makes you feel right at home, whether you're there for a quick bite or a leisurely tea session. I decided to explore their extensive tea collection, which did not disappoint. Each sip was an experience in itself, perfectly complementing the vibrant atmosphere of the café. But the real stars of the menu are the empanadas and Cuban crackers - an array so vast and delicious, you'll want to try them all. From savory to sweet, each bite was a testament to the culinary expertise behind the scenes. Now I have another cool spot on SB besides Atelier Monnier, the French Bakery for super croissant and French authentic quiches or for the amazingly priced wines. What's more, PineCrest Café caters to all times of the day with its 24-hour service. Whether it's a midnight craving for their famous cakes by the slice or a morning coffee with some freshly squeezed juice, they've got you covered. They offer a wide variety of beverages, including beers and sodas, ensuring there's something for everyone. The service at PineCrest Café truly stands out, thanks to Jennifer and her co-worker. Their dedication to customer satisfaction is evident in their warm smiles, attentive service, and genuine care in making every visitor feel special. Jennifer's knowledge about the menu and her recommendations made my experience even more enjoyable. Their efficiency with orders, whether you're dining in or opting for delivery through Uber Eats, GrubHub, Postmates, or DoorDash, is commendable. If you're planning a birthday celebration or just want a slice of cake to brighten your day, PineCrest Café has an impressive selection of cakes that are not only visually appealing but also delicious. In conclusion, PineCrest Café on Alton combines great food, a warm ambiance, and exceptional service. It's a must-visit for anyone looking to indulge in Cuban-American flavors and more with a touch of local charm. Thank you, Jennifer and team, for an unforgettable experience!

Google
This place is an authentic Cuban experience of food and flavor. The pastries (guava and cheese) is a sweet delicious taste of fruity tropics. Hamon croquette is a staple, the sandwiches like the BLT turkey melt with Cubano bread is so delicious. The women that work here are so sweet, pastry on the house and don’t forget to order a cortadito.

Google
I have order the catering menu several times. The pork is probably the best in miami! A must try! We will continue to order from this location! And amazing price for their catering menu. Kudos to the team and the cooks

Google
Good location. Ok coffee. But no Cuban coffee is worth $4 Dollars here showcase did not have many pastries. However they did have a nice assortment of large cakes. A few outdoor tables. They have a few parking spaces out front. But remember (a private lot) don’t leave the lot or you will be towed.

Seriously?

Google
The food is decent but a bit overpriced. The (morning) servers are extremely rude and impatient. Almost never say good morning or thank you. Nothing like being greeted with rudeness and a stern face. I go there several times a week due to its close proximity to my job. My patience is wearing thin with these ladies. May have to find another bakery. Kindness and pleasantries go a long way. (Owner) I hope you’re reading this. Update: Nothing has changed. Morning staff seem to be miserable working here. Try bringing in some friendlier workers and I’m sure business and tips would improve. 🤷🏻

Google
I come here everyday for my morning coffee and the ladies have my order ready before I even open the door! They’re kind and the food is reasonably priced. Great spot for a quick coffee and meal.

I've been here a few times. The pastelitos and empanadas are great. I ordered a cake for my wife's birthday and it was very delicious and tasted fresh. Highly recommend.

Yelp
This was my first time hearing of and having anything from this chain restaurant. My husband and I woke up at midnight after a long day of travel and exploration craving something local that we can't get at home in Indiana. The Cuban fare offered at this establishment caught our eye. We ordered through Doordash done of their most popular menu items: Classic Cuban Pastelitos - Guava Cheese (8/10), Traditional Spinach Croqueta, Ham & Cheese Empanadas (one baked (8/10), one fried (9/10 - hubby said a dipping sauce would've made it a 10/10 ) & a fried Beef Empanada (10/10). The fried empanadas were light and Crispy on the outside and the beef was so flavorful on the inside. I thought I'd miss it not coming with cheese in it, but I didn't! The pastelitos were somewhat reminiscent of baklava... like if baklava and a cheese danish had a baby! It was a nice, sweet treat without being too heavy. I haven't tried the croquetta yet, but it was a bit green, which I didn't expect. It is spinach- filled, but it didn't look like the pictures online. Honestly, I was full sheet the empanada and pastelito! Would definitely recommend for a late-night bite!

Yelp
Located in the heart of south beach this bakery is open 24/7 so cure your cravings early morning or even late at night . Lots of things to choose from, empanadas, croquettes, fresh bakery , smoothies, cakes you name it. Need a good Cuban coffee they have that too. Gets pretty busy in the mornings so be patient . Absolutely love this little bakery .

Lauren R.

Yelp
Went in for ham croquettes. They were $2.08 a piece which we thought was nuts, so we opted for a dozen that was $16 and change. We were then informed that the prices had changed to $20+ even though the sign had still said $16. What a disappointment

Jesus M.

Yelp
My usual place for breakfast, great service, great selection. Won't disappoint. Ignore the 1 stars and go with the flow

Michelle L.

Yelp
Amazing pan con bistec (steak sandwich)and everything is always so fresh. You can call ahead and order and then just pick up. Saves me on time. Their coffee is so good too. You won't be disappointed. A staple and if you're a tourist, a real treat! This is Cuban American delights!

Lourdes V.

Yelp
Very good service the girls that attend the Bakery are very oriented to customer service. They helped me with the parking application which is not easy. I was there today 12/14 at noon time. I am not millennium, the company parking should think in something more friendly, just get a machine that you place your card, and pay it. Please make it easy for people. It is not the girls job at Bakery to help with that terrible application. Thanks to the girls that were very friendly and attentive and have good manners to deal with people. Sincerely, Lourdes Vargas

Yelp
Great spot, just like there brother locations. Service was good, clean environment and warm pastelitos.

Hillary I.

Yelp
I picked up a flan cheesecake for my friend's birthday about an hour before they closed. The man at the counter was a little frazzled but helped me pick out a cake. The menu was not the same as the cakes they had on hand, so it took some trouble shooting to figure out what to buy. The cake itself was really good and was only $32 which I thought was a reasonable price for a cake to feed around 10 people.

Vlin K.

Yelp
Don't go here unless you want something else than lunch food, my smoothie was very good but they were out of most menu items. There are better options. Lady at the register was attentive and there is seating. Average little cafe.

Sean G.

Yelp
Ordered a Mini Cubano on Uber Eats and just got a ham and cheese sandwich. No roast pork, mustard or pickles. I also ordered a pan con bistec. It came with soft and rotten vegetables. Perhaps they were microwaved? The lettuce was definitely rotten. No little potato sticks either. I threw everything away. THIS IS NOT CUBAN FOOD. Embarrassing and I feel bad for tourists who order this crap.

Serena S.

Yelp
I always order from here through delivery -- the tostada is my go-to and I absolutely love it! All the items on the menu are very delicious and traditional.

Genesis T.

Yelp
Pinecrest bakery serves delicious cakes, pastries, pastelitos, empanadas, tostadas, sandwiches, coffees and a lot more. I love the pan con bistec, guava and cheese pastelitos, and their breakfast combo of fried eggs, bacon/ham, fries, cuban bread and coffee.

Anthony L.

Yelp
The friendliest people around and they are like this 24 hrs a day! Love the Colada which is served with a smile and love. The pastries are to die for, large serving for all pastries. Plus they are open 24hrs. Imagine strung out on Cuban coffee and sugary sweet pastries

Manuel L.

Yelp
Good secure I come every morning and it's amazing it's one of the best I ever come to

Jaime B.

Yelp
Worst churrasco sandwich I've ever had, honestly I wish I had stopped eating it and thrown it away. The meat was chewy as if it had been microwaved instead of grilled. I hope I don't get food poisoning. I love their breakfast sandwiches so I thought I'd try their other sandwich options. Big mistake. Don't get the churrasco here whatever you do!

Cierra R.

Yelp
Walking in at 5pm on a Thursday and the place has nothing on display bc they are out. Fine I'll find something I'm sure but the people manning the counter (one male and one female) are talking in Spanish over some receipts. I walk in and say "hi" politely and they don't even look at me and don't even acknowledge that I walked in, just act like I'm not standing there at All. No hello, no "one second please" I just really felt that that was rude and poor customer service so I just left. I won't go back it looks like this place has gone downhill since I last visited. CAO bakery is much better in my opinion on food quality and customer service. It's not hard to atleast make eye contact and give a nod that you're busy. I'm glad to wait. I'm just jot glad to be completely ignored.

Moses P.

Yelp
I'm only writing this review so I can remember where I get the Tequeños. Tequeños is normally my favorite snack but this place is now my favorite place that has it. And I'm willing to make extra drives to have it.

Shana S.

Yelp
I've waited a few days to see if anything was resolved... but no. We ordered delivery and several items were missing. Contacted Uber eats and they said they cannot do anything about this. We tried calling the bakery several times that night. We were hung up on twice. Then my Spanish speaking husband tried again and they claimed they couldn't hear him. We have not been refunded or called or anything. It's a shame. This was one of my favorite places to get treats for my clients. Never again.

Pamela M.

Yelp
Someone else chose for me to go here, and the place is kind of alright... if it's convenience you're seeking, it's a choice. But, as far as the food it's not something I'd recommend or go back to. At least not what I had. It's very carb-heavy, bready stuff. The flavors were not really something that would have me begging for more. The meat just had a different not as good taste to me. I don't usually leave any of my bacon behind, but I don't know how to describe it, maybe it's not sourced from the best place (low-quality meat) is all I can think of. I don't know if it's true - it's all that I can suspect. We each had a guava pastry that my friend wanted us to try because she enjoys it so much. It was good! I think if you're just getting pastries, maybe this is a better place versus sitting down for brunch. It's a very no-frills kind of place, but for me, there are better options out there.

Crystal P.

Yelp
I tried to place a cake order with the bakery two days ago via their online ordering system. Which says you should receive a response within 24 hours. Didn't receive a response. So I called the next day. They told me no manager available and to call back next day. Okay, so I do that this morning. The first time they put me on an automatic hold and hang up without even picking up the phone. I call back and same thing. I call a third time, puts me on hold and then a lady picks up the phone and then doesn't listen to my question and says sorry and hangs up.

Chris Z.

Yelp
I love this place I go here every day! Excellent employees consistent awesome coladas and pastries. I've taken people here from out of town and they loved it. Definitely on my daily stuff list every day stop!! Highly highly recommended

Byron S.

Yelp
24/7 WOW! We were walking past after hitting the movies and we stopped by here at 11:30pm. The select was impressive and the fresh coffee and orange juice was great. We had them box up a few desserts and we took them home. Make sure you stop by and give them a try. Enjoy.

Ori L.

Yelp
Amazing breakfast spot it's cheap and delicious! If you're looking for classic Latin breakfast pastries this is your spot!

Diandra L.

Yelp
What's not to love about Pinecrest Bakery? It's convenient, it's quick and it's cheap! Plus this spot has a parking lot, which makes it easy to grab some snacks before the beach. I ordered the mini cubano- which I thought was a great deal for $4.99. It was still huge and tasty! My mom and sister got some croquetas and a cachito. They were out of a lot of things and the service was a little sluggish, but overall a solid place to get your favorite Cuban treats. I spied their menu and they seem to have lots of non-traditional lunch options like burgers, salads and bowls. They all sounded good so I would definitely go back to try!

Weslie I.

Yelp
Idk why this place only has 3 stars. I ALWAYS enjoy the pastelitos and love the cafe con leche. Not too sweet not too bitter. Perfect. My wife thinks they have the best cortaditos. I can confirm this, you'll just have to try it yourself.

Mica L.

Yelp
You're in Miami, so enjoy a taste of Cuba. Cool 24 hour Cuban breakfast & bakery place. The coffee & pastries are better (& cheaper) than the fast food chains around. I also appreciate that you can be in & out quickly, even when it's busy :)

Alexis B.

Yelp
I really enjoy this bakery. The café con leche is really good and so are all of their pastries. The serve is usually pretty great and the staff is friendly. It has the typical Miami Cuban bakery vibe. Not hip but it's clean and familiar. My only complaint is that they don't offer a non-dairy or lactose free option. I can't have dairy anymore so it's always a bummer that I can't have a café con leche anymore.

Andy V.

Yelp
Right off the bat, what i love about Pinecrest Bakery is that it's open 24 hours. Recently I found myself in South Beach around midnight or later, starving. Lines for McDonalds were crazy and I was the type of hungry that couldn't stand waiting, so i got myself down to Pinecrest where i was able to order immediately. It's cute from the outside and in. Some seating outside along with some chairs inside. Like me, most everyone was getting their food to go. They had a few pastries in the glass display, they looked good too, but I needed something a little bit more heartier. I chose their Cuban sandwich which came to about $9. The sandwich took a few minutes and I was on my way. The sandwich was huge, almost too huge if that's possible. It wasn't hot all the way through because I think it couldn't be pressed all the way down. My hotel was a legit two minute walk from there so I realize things do cool down after time, but this definitely was not the case. The sandwich was a little dry too. I ended up eating half of it. Honestly maybe I just caught them at a bad time? I mean, things looked good, but it wasn't that great. Giving them three stars for this only because the menu is pretty wide so there has to be better options. Maybe skip the Cuban sandwich and go for something else. That's definitely my plan next time around.

Cindee T.

Yelp
This morning I paid $10.50 for their standard breakfast plate which includes eggs, toast and a cafe con leche; the below picture is what I got. It literally looked like one egg, highly disappointed. I also want to mention, I'm a Miami resident, born and raised. I previously lived near their Bird Road location and loved the service and staff. Their standard breakfast platter was around $6.00 (with tip). I recently moved to the beach, I work off of the same salary as before just a different location and I noticed that for the same breakfast platter, it's double the price and comes out to almost $11.00, not to mention look at the amount of eggs they gave me. Will not be returning to their Miami Beach location ever again, if they want to cater to residents versus tourists, they should take this into consideration because they are losing what used to be a very loyal customer.

Jann M.

Yelp
I had two unsatisfying visits to this bakery. I did not write a review the first time. I gave them the benefit of the doubt the 2nd time, but shame on me. I'll just go across the street to Cao Bakery or visit Vicky bakery (best authentic Cuban bakery in Miami!!!) Anyways, I went on my lunch break and ordered two pastelitos on Saturday. The total amount was $4.85. I paid it with card and went on my way. Hours later, I checked my statement & saw that I was charged $10 extra. I went after work and asked why this was, I did not have my receipt & they claimed to not have any copy of the transaction, so they were unable to help me unless I spoke to the one who attended me or the manager on Monday. Thankfully I found the receipt & I was charged $10 for gratuity !!!!!!!! I was livid ! She was not very welcoming and seemed very annoyed during my visit. She decided to place an unauthorized $10 gratuity on my $4.85 bill. I went in on Monday to speak to the manager. She was very understanding & helpful. She gave me a refund. But I am never coming again. Not to this place. I mean, just look at the reviews, not even 4 stars. Be more hospitable next time & maybe you'll deserve a $10 tip. Don't take it from people.

Sonny D.

Yelp
I always stop in here every Friday when picking my dry cleaning up next door (Cool & Clean dry cleaning) to pick me up a slice of cake. It's nice to know you have options to by for one and not have to buy the entire cake. Here you can do both but one slice is a nice treat to end the work week. The carrot cake, cheesecake, white cake w/sprinkles, chocolate cake, red velvet and others are so fresh and baked to perfection. They also serve sandwiches and other items in case you want something to go with your desert. Parking can be limited at times but it's worth stoping in.

Ephraim M.

Yelp
Wow to see so many bad reviews it makes me think ownership doesn't care about the image of his or hers business and they approve bad service. Everytime I come here is ok to wait they have great café and pastries that I don't mind waiting as the BLONDE GREEN EYE Lady is always very nice and professional, but today when I just order a pastel and a orange juice the lady that served me JUANA or Juanita is the worst person to have serving Food to clients , she is very disgusting dealing with the food and has such an attitude that I should get my money back for the bad experience I just encounter here food is great but her attitude and demeanor IS NOT RIGHT.

Ashley F.

Yelp
Classic bakery, made a quick stop on a Sunday afternoon for some goodies. They were all tasty!

Brent T.

Yelp
If you are looking for a Cuban coffee and some pastries make sure to come in the morning. This bakery is open 24 hours a day. I actually didn't come here for a long time because a couple of my friends told me it was not fresh in the evening when they stopped by. I just stopped in around 8 this morning and the staff was friendly enough for Miami Beach standards. It helps if you speak some basic Spanish like many places in this area. The coffee was a great price. Full colada was $1 and a croissant plain was $2.50. The coffee was very good and the pastry was fresh. I wish I would have tried this place sooner for a morning coffee. The location is close to Lincoln Rd on Alton Rd. The building is newer and very clean. Plenty of seating inside and outside on the patio in the front. The music added to the Cuban ambiance and was not too loud. If you are up early and want a peaceful Cuban style coffee and breakfast I would recommend trying this place in the morning to make sure you have a good experience. Just from what my friends have told me the pastries aren't the freshest in the evening. But when is a pastry ever fresh 24/7?

Jordan N.

Yelp
Who from Miami orders croissants, egg sandwiches, and a Philly cheesesteak in a Cuban bakery for which I've been seeing some reviews here? Nobody. Go for the Cuban staples - even if they may not be the best in Miami, they're always at least decent, and this is more of a snacking/dessert stop with a coffee break. Perhaps Pinecrest Bakery would be doing themselves a favor by taking those other items off the menu. Pinecrest Bakery is a local 24-hour Cuban bakery chain that recently crossed over Biscayne Bay from Cuban Miami into non-Cuban Miami Beach - and for which I'm glad, considering that there is not a typical Cuban or Latin American bakery in Miami Beach or even Downtown other than the Argentine ones. Don Pan's departure from downtown left a void (and deservingly so, since that branch was a really bad one from my experience). And as Miami grows up to become more international, Pinecrest Bakery has grown alongside it - incorporating some Colombian (pan de bono), Venezuelan (cachitos), and Argentine / Uruguayan (chaja) pastries as well. With a large selection of items in their display case, there's bound to be some hits and misses, but with more hits than misses - if you lean Cuban, or Latin American, that is. The only flop was their mousse that I had - the mango guava mousse was too gelatinous and composed of a weird flavor. But Cuban coffee, fresh squeezed orange juice, Cuban pastries, empanadas, and tequeños were all good and affordable. And for a late night jolt of sugary caffeine, this is the place to be. It's all-in-all a good addition to South Beach's scene, especially for the people on the Beach who are unable to venture out to sample Miami's stereotypical bakeries.

Hugo R.

Yelp
Don't understand the poor reviews. I go there 2 to 3 times a week. The servers are personable and professional. All our business's have been effected by the staffing issues.

Mark J.

Yelp
Stopped in for a tea. Staff was friendly and helpful. WiFi was fast. There is indoor and outdoor seating.

Mrs. D.

Yelp
Don't order toast here. They barely cook it right. Stick with the sheft food on display. 4/10

Antita B.

Yelp
Everything here is delicious! I come here to get coffee/hot chocolate and bakery items like croquetas, empanadas, pastelitos etc. everything is fresh and so good. I've had their soups and sandwiches before and they are all delicious. Great place to get a quick bite to eat and you won't be disappointed. Service is fast, friendly and excellent.

Denise R.

Yelp
The food is fresh and delicious. Shayla and Lisandra are excellent employees. They remember what you ordered previously, even if they've only served you twice. I totally recommend this bakery.

W B.

Yelp
Terrible service !! Took forever to get my order - all I order was a cubano sandwich. Took over 20 mins. And when I got back to room - sandwich was not what I ordered. It was a beef sandwich !! While I was there at least 2 people came in and never got waited on. Young man working the counter was the worst !!!

Mimi R.

Yelp
Omg, delicious pastries! Great, friendly, fast service! Prices are great too! Will be back on my next vacation here!

Pedro F.

Yelp
The worst service in Miami Beach. After waiting in line, an employee decided to serve at a different area of the shop. When I inquired, the employee said that she serves "wherever" she feels like it. There was no regard for the customer's time; the staff chatted with the "people" they knew for long times while serving. Please avoid.

Angelo M.

Yelp
What kind of Latin bakery doesn't have hot sauce or Ají to go with their empanadas?? Picked up some here today and the girl looked at me like she didn't know what I was talking about. Looked for a spot to sit and the place was a dump. Common corporate...get a grip.

Johan S.

Yelp
vengo diario por que la atención es muy buena, la comida siempre fresca y muy buen ambiente

Jorgie Z.

Yelp
I used to like going to this bakery until they changed there staff none of the ladies there talk English they take for ever to do anything and if they do it fast they do it with attitude there customer service is horrible and half of the time someone goes in there they talk bad about the customer and don't realize that we also speak Spanish I rather go to CAO Bakery a block a way which is 10x better if I can give 0 stars I would. My friend just ordered 2 sandwiches from there and look at the hair I just found I would think with a whole pandemic going on they would sanitary especially because there dealing with other people's food.

Louis C.

Yelp
This place is great I love it and go there all the time the staff is very very helpful the food is cheap and good don't miss this place

Marissa P.

Yelp
Got a Philly cheese steak & egg and cheese on croissant sandwich. They were ok. Egg and cheese was very greasy and resembled a grilled cheese more than just on a croissant. They do have freshly squeezed orange juice that is great! Resturant was clean and welcoming staff was nice. If you need a quick bit would recommend if you want something more of a sit down and enjoy/take your time come i'd look around.
