This was my first visit to Pinefish and I greatly enjoyed it. The decor was warm & welcoming. I started with happy hour duck fat fries and oysters which were both absolutely delicious. The restaurant week menu had a great variety of menu items. I enjoyed the ceasar salad. The short rib was absolutely amazing. It was delicious and incredibly tender and the mashed potatoes served with it had a perfect velvety texture and creamy taste. I didn’t care for the desert but overall had a wonderful experience. The whisky cocktail on the RW menu was delicious as well. I definitely enjoyed my visit and will be back in the future

Google
this place is overall just okay. the atmosphere is nice and decor is fun to appreciate - if you’re lucky enough to get the right table, which we were not. the cocktails are normal center city price and are good. the food is just okay. we actually came here for restaurant week and got the crab cakes and the stuffed flounder. the best part of our meal was the cauliflower served alongside the flounder. think i’d only come back for happy hour.

I absolutely adore this place! Great hospitality, good location! And GREAT FOOD! My friends and I come here all the time. I think I might have just ordered just about everything off the menu! From the scallops to the mussels, or Pan seared salmon. to the Brussel sprouts! Everything has been delish! Oh and let’s not forget the blueberry pie! YUM🤤

Enjoyed Happy Hour yesterday! A little bubbles, some pork belly, oysters, clams and shrimp. The garlic butter sauce on the skewers was delicious And a great spot for a quick bite if in a rush - quick, friendly service

What a lovely restaurant experience from before I arrived til we left. We had a reservation at 7:00, and last minute I needed to change it to 8:00. There were no reservations left online so I called and spoke with Leslie. She was so understanding and kind and told me to not rush (had to pick up my son from airport and bring him to dinner with us). The arugula salad was fresh and delicious; clam chowder was chock full of clams; the surf and turf came with twin lobster tails and filet mignon that was cooked perfect to temperature; the crab cake had scallops and shrimp and lump crabmeat in it so it was a bit different than a traditional crab cake, but very tasty nonetheless and I loved how the edges were crispy; even all the desserts were delish: we got key lime pie, chocolate cake and the standout dessert was the blueberry pie (get it, you won’t regret it!). The staff was attentive and all so nice. It was our first time there and Can’t wait to go back and try everything else on the menu, especially the whole grilled branzino!

This place when I first walked in I thought was pretty cool and layed back. It took 45min for my party of 7 to be serviced. No, it was not crowded. The food ...never again. My son pancakes were not done in the middle, my bacon was so hard. I showed the waitress and sent them back. Two other peers food wasnt done. My brother never received his side dish so he cancelled it. The manager, you wouldve thought, would have came around to check on the tables.I will never go back.

OMG...this was a GOOD surprise. You definitely need reservations. Very cute and rustic atmosphere. The food was AMAZING and very reasonably priced. Would definitely come back. And then we tried dessert....WOW!!!

Awesome happy hour with delicious $1 shrimp which you peel yourself, and more. The oysters were a little grainy, but the drinks were a good deal and the food overall was great.

Yelp
We came to celebrate my best friend's birthday and had a great time. Its a rather small and intimate space so great for our party of 4 and quiet enough that we were able to catch up and enjoy the food. Staff were all extremely kind and attentive. They checked in about hunger levels and food ordered, since we were sharing everything and not too hungry. We were able to try quite a few things and I thought everything we had was delicious. I love root vegetable chips and thought the ones they had with the beet hummus were so light and crisp. The mushroom fondue was probably my favorite dish, super rich and savory and I just wanted more bread to soak up all the sauce. The best part is that most dishes available were vegetarian so we were able to load up on a ton of different things. Overall, kiddo was a great dining experience and definitely would return. I love a tight seasonal menu and everything tasted fresh and light! Prices also seemed fair, especially if you're coming with a party to share various dishes.

Yelp
Great restaurant! They have many vegetarians and vegan food options. A good restaurant is judged by their bread, and this place has great bread!! We asked for extra. The staff were super nice and friendly. It is a great date night spot!

Yelp
Where to even begin... Patrick was the most delightful server by whom I've ever had the pleasure of being served. Knowledgeable, gave great suggestions, and sold the melon margarita like an absolute cocktail champion. My gorgeous friend Kate and I split the Mycopolitan mushroom fondue with poached egg and sourdough croutons to start. This was a hearty, meaty (but veggie) dish that reminded me of a warm nuzzle on a cool autumn night. We were gifted pork ribs by the owner for absolutely no reason at all. I ate them with my hands. The barbecue sauce was crafted with figs from a regular's garden. We talked about the barbecue sauce for approximately six minutes total. Up next was the Fusilli alla norma with charred eggplant, smoked garlic paste, basil pesto, and breadcrumbs. This was like Nona made. A nice extension of the mushroon fondue. The eggplant was charred to a crispy perfection. The Basil ravioli with smoked peach gastrique, brown butter, and popcorn dust looked like a science experiment and tasted like heaven. We can't wait to return. Thank you, Kiddo.

Yelp
I didn't take pics but man kiddo just knows exactly what a great spot this is. The wonderful vibes. The great ownership and staff. And the food! Everything about this place is magical.

Yelp
Almost empty restaurant when we came for Sunday brunch - weather was nice so we were quickly seated outside. Unfortunately the neighborhood has very limited parking so we had to park about a 15 minute walk away. We tried the fried apple fondue, the biscuits & jam, and the fried goat cheese salad. Food was pretty good! I liked the apple fondue which I kept going back to. The fried goat cheese salad had grapes and was super interesting - unique but I didn't expect it to be cold. The biscuits were flaky and pretty good. I really wanted to try the Kiddo pastas - maybe next time! - I also really appreciated the variety of vegetarian options on the menu.

Yelp
Vegetarian perspective Food: Amazing food selection for vegetarians, with a menu highlighting seasonal fresh produce. Split a lot of dishes with my friend. I think the basil peach ravioli was our favorite. And the focaccia bread they brought once we ordered. Drinks: i got a passion fruit cocktail that was perfect for summer. Great selection of non alcoholic drinks too, my friend really enjoyed hers and it was presented in a way that looked like a fancy cocktail. Service: above and beyond service. From the moment I got there everyone was just so amazing.

Yelp
After two visits to Kiddo, I can confidently say this is a great, trendy place to bring both out of town friends or your partner for a nice date night. The menu changes even week to week based on seasonal produce (even the flavor of jam accompanying the goat cheese fritters was different across my 2 visits!) I personally enjoyed the food during my March 2024 visit more than my July 2024 visit. The bucatini I had in March was unreal, and the pork was not as salty as the version I had in July. Overall, what I would order again are the goat cheese fritters, the duck breast, the bucatini, and the pork. The variation in the menu certainly keeps you on your toes but is an amazing way to try out amazing, inventive, vegetable forward dishes. The noise levels in the back / main dining room can get a bit loud during peak hours but the great service and food more than makes up for it. I look forward to coming back and hope to try their dessert and brunch selection next time!

Yelp
Loved dining in Kiddo's corner restaurant in Midtown! With friendly, timely service, delicious food, and a more-relaxed atmosphere due to the city emptying out for Memorial Day weekend, we greatly enjoyed a relaxed brunch experience. Definitely recommend ordering the buttermilk biscuits with apricot jam (4 to an order), which we devoured too quickly to photograph. Our foursome ordered, and enjoyed: - The daily special omelet, - The omelet with spinach, lion's mane mushrooms, goat cheese, spring salad, - The Duroc breakfast sausage with poached eggs, fermented pepper sauce, house potatoes, arugula salad, and - Sourdough English muffin with mushrooms, caramelized onions, salsa verde, sunny-side up egg, house potatoes. along with an Americano coffee and blood mary's!

Yelp
Another amazing culinary experience in Philly at Kiddo. Our son, now a Philly resident for the last four years, selected it. Kiddo was in a quaint, homey setting with a bar at the entrance and then an adjacent dining room area. The dining room was a bit noisy but we could still hear each other fine. It appeared to have a neighborhood crowd and there was great eclectic art work on the walls. We had impeccable service. Our waitress was helpful in making some selections and our food come out quickly, with every course spaced out perfectly. We started with the goat cheese fritters and the cheese plate. There were 5 fritters sitting in a delicious blueberry jam. When we bit into them, the goat cheese just melted into our mouths. The cheese plate had 4 slices of a delicious toasted bread, and I especially loved the black truffle cheese and pickled onions. They gave us the leek snack dish as an added bonus! We split the Kennett Square mushroom fondue which was delicious with the restaurants's amazing homemade bread, the malfadine pasta with asparagus, (the crunchiness of the walnuts in it was SO good), the Egyptian spring onion crespelle with ricotta salsa verde and the duck breast. The duck breast was cooked perfectly and we loved the side salad with farro that it came with. We ended with a plate of four cookies: a snickerdoodle, a strawberry shortbread cookie, a sugar cookie with grapefruit icing and a double chocolate cookie. They were delicious but we were partial to the snickerdoodle cookie and the sugar cookie with grapefruit icing. We were all satisfied with the amount of food we ate without feeling overly full. We loved the atmosphere of Kiddo. We had fast and courteous service and the meal was simply amazing!!

Yelp
Very cool vibe and the food was some of the best I've had. Loved the stuffed pork chop and Brussels salad!!!

Yelp
Get a sitter for the kiddos and head over here asap! This new restaurant in the old Pinefish space is the perfect place for a date, girls night, group hang, and you could even bring your parents here. It's a small menu and vegetable forward, but there were 2 meat entrees when we were there and the duck was excellent. They have a small drinks menu and I really appreciated that they had a non-alcoholic section- love a shrub mocktail with all the fixings, makes a girl feel special! We got a snack (brussels), salad (chicory), pasta (lumaconi-like a fancy mac and cheese), and the duck (perfectly cooked) and we barely had room for dessert (so we got one to go and split the zeppoli). Service was great and all the food we got was delicious, interesting, and beautifully presented, but not pretentious. The soundtrack was on point, immaculate vibes, I'm not kiddoing when I say this is my new favorite spot to recommend to people!

Yelp
We were party of 7, and decided to try the Brunch menu, after having been here for a fantastic dinner previously. The brunch menu had some interesting pairings of ingredients, and all sounded great. Not being able to decide, we actually just ordered the entire menu of large plates and a few of the smaller plates. (See their menu in the photos). Well, when the food arrived, which looked extremely appetizing, we knew that we had made the right decision. Every plate has its own character, and the flavors were all great. The ingredients again, were obviously farm fresh with the eggs exhibiting a wonderful orange colored yoke. Again the goat cheese fritters were exceptional with a melt in your mouth texture. The ambiance is relaxed! Service was great, and yes we will be back!

Yelp
Kiddo has taken over the location of the old Pinefish. Outside a similar layout, you'd probably wouldn't make any connection as they have done an amazing job renovating. Now I do miss Pinefish, however, Kiddo should do well. First, cocktails. I loved walking in and passed their bar with the exposed brick. Maybe being seated at the bar wouldn't be such a bad thing. I'm not normally one to rave about a vodka drink, however, did very much enjoy the Foot Traffic. As for food, you can probably get away with a pasta and main or a pasta and a few apps. Their mushroom fondue was a great way to start things off. Then came the Pork Chop, which was very filling. The menu is on the smaller side, but there is no shortage of quality. I believe they rotate the dessert menu, so not sure how my ranking of the Pear dessert (very good) will influence your selection. Needless to say, they have some decent desserts for you to take your pick. Overall, IMO, you should check out Kiddo. Reservation recommended.

Yelp
This place was surprisingly amazing. Love what they did with the place. Very inviting colors and decor. It's both laid back and elegant. The staff is amazing. They really have a family feel. You can tell that the staff likes the management, as no one seemed stressed. The chef Wyatt was so nice and he came out to the tables to check on everyone. Love when I come into a restaurant and feel the warmth and cohesiveness. The server, Bo, was awesome. He was very knowledgeable of the menu and had a good sense of humor. Our drinks came out quickly. It wasn't very busy, but was starting to get there. My wife and I sat at a high top table in the bar room. It was very nice and cozy. There is another dining area on the other side of the bar room. It's the same quaint ambience. To start we ordered the cheese plate which was delicious. I would recommend they raise the price of this option and add a third cheese. Just more yumminess. The cheeses and condiments were excellent. The sourdough bread was delicious. The Texas toast that comes with the cheese plate was very tasty. The bread seemed freshly baked. The goat cheese fritters were perfect. Lightly battered and lightly fried. The sunchokes came in such a delicious sauce that I needed to ask for more bread to dip. The pasta dish was excellent. The romanesca was the star of the dish. Perfectly cooked. This place really does wonders with the veggies. The star of the meal, however, was the duck. Just perfectly cooked. And the confit hash underneath was like an elevated stuffing to die for. A truly elite dish. I hope they keep it on the menu. We will be back very soon! Highly recommend.

Yelp
I went to kiddo for a birthday dinner with a group of girlfriends. We had a great time and it was a nice atmosphere. We pretty much ordered and shared the whole menu except the duck. The tempura apples we delicious. It's incredibly hot but delicious. The bucatini was phenomenal. The rotolo was just ok. The Creste De Gallo was, hands down, the BEST thing I ate there. We got two orders because it was so good. I'm not the biggest pork chop fan, but my friend loved it. The drinks were less than spectacular. I had the Landline, which is their version of an old fashioned but it tasted likenit had almost no bourbon. My second drink was a Woodford straight. For dessert, we had the pear galette which was delicious. One of the best galettes I've ever had.

Yelp
Came with a large party of 7 and did the pre-fixe event menu. The service was quick and well paced, but we didn't feel rushed! I loved the veggie forward menu--any dish with mushrooms was a highlight for me. They brought out an appropriate amount of food for everyone so we were full but not overly stuffed. I especially love the rhubarb shrub (non alcoholic drink). The desserts weren't my cup of tea but others at the table really loved them. All in all, would definitely recommend!

Yelp
very cute place! it's newer to the philly food scene but located in a cute area to walk around (hard to find parking). A friend and I stopped in for brunch with a reservation. it took a little bit to get some water and for our server to get to us (10 mins) so we were ready to order when he came over. He let us know about specials and then took our order. I got a macchiato and the zampano to drink. you can really mess up a macchiato but zampano was fine nothing very stand out about it. for food I got the duroc sausage breakfast meal and it was very good, well seasoned and salted(I wish there were more potatoes to get all the yolk and sauce). my friend got the omelet and said it could use a little something extra, needed some spice and some salt. I wish they had some more gluten free options! overall it was pretty yummy and maybe a good stop in spot for cute photos and to try some of their food. Nothing to write home about but still quite good!

Yelp
Love it here and love that they minimize their waste! Delicious drinks and nice atmopshere.

Yelp
Came here for brunch this last weekend. What a lovely experience! Mind you I don't really approve of brunch - half the stuff you can make at home for 3/4s the price. But this place was great! Staff were so nice, patient and helpful. Small but good drink menu with delicious non alcoholic options as well. We had the biscuits and apricot jam and goat cheese fritters as appetizers. Fritters weren't overly salty which I was worried about. Nicely fried with a refreshing apple jam. Biscuits were excellent - nice and flaky. I had the biscuits with mushrooms eggs and potatoes. Eggs were cooked well but still had a bit of runniness to them. The mushrooms were delicious and it all came with this cilantro dressing. Potatoes were also excellent with some peppers thrown in for good measure. It was so hard deciding what to get because honestly everything, especially the savory dishes, looked fantastic. Prices were reasonable, great experience and even though it was brunch and close to their breaking time before dinner, we didn't feel rushed out at all. Highly recommend them!

Yelp
It was a pleasure to dine at Kiddo! We had a birthday to celebrate and this was the perfect place. The interior is warm and inviting, white walls with various pieces of art on the walls, dark with glowy candles. It can get a bit loud but it sort of feels more bustling (in a good way) than annoying. We started with braised cabbage, goat cheese fritters and mushroom fondue. Delicious! All three! The goat cheese, however was a stand out. Crispy outside, gooey warm center with a small hint of sweet and salty. I ordered the special for evening; pasta with cream Parmesan sauce with pork. This was so good! Creamy with a bit of texture from seasoned bread crumbs on the top with savory, juicy pork in each bite. One friend ordered the pork porterhouse with sweet potato purée that was so well done! The other ordered sweet potato and carrot rosti. Our food was so fresh, innovative and delicious. The server was delightful and everyone took such good care of us. They recognized my friend's birthday with a candle! Such a top night with really delicious food (oh! And cocktails! And a beautiful bottle of Zinfandel!) Make a reservation and go! You won't be sorry!

Yelp
Kiddo is such a cute new place. I love the feeling of the bar in the front. The back is cool too with a lot of funky wall art. The food was really good. I love how they have seasonal dishes. I hope they never get rid of the goat cheese fritter though. Those were amazing. I loved my pumpkin ravioli and our cocktails were great as well. The cheese plate left a little to be desired, and my friend didn't love her meal as much as I did. but otherwise- we had a great meal!

Yelp
Food was exquisite. Close your eyes and enjoy the taste sensation. We were here for a birthday and it did not disappoint. The service was excellent and everyone was pleasant. Yeah, it was a bit loud, but I would not use that to distract from coming here.

Yelp
We had a really disappointing and poor experience at this restaurant. We tried brunch and were rushed through our meal and were uncomfortable with how we were treated. I brought a friend from out of town, excited to try something new with him, and was embarrassed that this was where I took him. The experience felt aggressive and dismissive and we felt like we were more of a burden than happy to have us there. The food was fine but nothing great. Their branding/online photos are more enticing than the actual food you are served. I would avoid going here if you want to dine in a relaxing, welcoming environment.

Yelp
Pasta Happy hour delight! Mafaldine pasta texture was perfect. A pickled cherry tomato flavor exploded deliciously in my mouth.smoked chestnut mushrooms added special flavor to this dish. Fusilli with charred eggplant was irresistible. Boardwalk cocktail with Vodka & white wine blended perfectly to offset hot weather. Pleasantly decorated relaxing space with comfortable seating. Friendly knowledgeable staff added to the overall happy experience. Look forward to another visit. (Regina)

Yelp
The food and hospitality were both outstanding. We had Whitney as our server and she was very knowledgeable about the menu and made great recommendations for both food and drinks. We started with the goat cheese fritters that were so crisp and not overly fried or battered and the blueberry was the perfect compliment not super sweet. We got the early girl tomato salad the tomato's were just the right ripeness. We then got the malfadine pasta. We finished with the duck which was cooked just right and the pickled cherries were a great balance. We will be back again!

Kristina C.

Yelp
5 stars all-around for kiddo! We came on a Friday night during our visit to Philly and sat at the bar. The vibes were great - the lighting, music, service, and beautiful decor were all on point. The bartenders were very friendly and knowledgeable of the drinks and the entire menu, which they said changes frequently based on what is fresh and in season. We had several dishes to share, along with a round of yummy cocktails and wine. The goat cheese fritters were little melt in your mouth clouds of deliciousness, with an amazing black pepper and pear jam. I wish I had a vat of this jam .. The Brussels were fresh, seasonal, and cooked to perfection. The mushroom fondue had the rich flavors of a French onion soup, with a perfectly poached egg atop. Dipping the house made sourdough bread in this creation was *chefs kiss*. I will be dreaming of the bucatini - the sauce was fresh and flavorful and the mushrooms were savory and smoky; a perfect balance. We all agreed that the pork chop was the best we have ever had. It was juicy and flavorful, with a delicious glaze on the outside. The salad with this dish was also spot on, with crunchy roasted hazelnuts, pears, and shaved brussels. The flavors went so well together. Dessert arrived and we dug in too quickly - forgot to take pictures unfortunately. The cookie plate was such a fun concept; we tried and loved all 4 of the different cookies. The apple pie zeppolis were out of this world. Such a fun take on this dessert and paired with the homemade vanilla ice cream, it was really over the top. We enjoyed espressos and coffees with our dessert, it was the perfect way to end our meal at Kiddo. We'll be back soon for more food, drinks and laughs. Can't wait to check out the brunch menu, too!

Yelp
Returned again for brunch and another dinner. Always a good meal. I'm obsessed with the pork chops! It's just so good and prob the best I've had.

Yelp
Kiddo has been on my list to check out for some time now, and it was a wonderful experience. Nice ambiance and some excellent drinks/small plate. My experience at the bar was great and I hope to return soon to experience a full meal.

Yelp
Went the first time for brunch and returned many times after for brunch and dinner. Buttermilk biscuits with homemade jam are my favorite ever.

Yelp
I think this place will do well and I hope it gets the attention it deserves. The food was creative and interesting and delicious. I love that it's vegetable forward but offers some meat dishes. Everything we had was very good and complex and priced fairly. Also having three NA cocktail offerings was a plus for those of us who don't drink. Warm atmosphere with ambient trip hop in the background made for a pleasant dining experience.

Yelp
Absolutely delicious! Great service and creative, nourishing plates. We loved the bucatini in particular!

Yelp
I went here for my anniversary and it was the perfect spot! Everything was delicious and had so much flavor. They were running a cabbage special that was incredible, the Asian inspired sauce was amazing. The goat cheese fritters & sweet potato pasta dish were fantastic. You really can't go wrong with anything on the menu. We got 3 appetizers, one pasta and one large plate for 2 of us and it was the perfect amount of food! Would definitely recommend. Service was phenomenal. Everything was coursed perfectly. The chef even came out and spoke to us. We are currently doing dry January so we didn't try the cocktails but had one of their N/A Black Raspberry Signature Shrubs. Tasted so good. We're looking forward to coming back to try more. I never really right yelp reviews but had to for this place, just wow!

Yelp
Some of the best vegetarian cuisine i have had in Philadelphia. Rich and unusual. Mushroom fondue and crespelle are both standout.

Yelp
Beautiful meal. The roasted carrot salad and the carrot rosti were so flavorful and well constructed dishes. Congrats.

Yelp
Just hosted my daughter's wedding at Kiddo...an AMAZING experience, from the really helpful staff to the charming setting to the over the top delicious food. We couldn't be happier with the way they helped us create the perfect event and memories for a lifetime! Thank you!!!

Yelp
Love it! Great ambiance and everyone is super friendly. I've only done happy hour and brunch. Loved both! Veg friendly

Trevor A.

Yelp
I tried 5+ dishes here and each one was amazing. Best pork chops I've ever had. Will be my go to spot when I'm in Philly.

Dorina N.

Yelp
The food was not that good, nor was the drinks. The staff was very friendly. It was just the food had no flavor, and the drinks did not have enough alcohol and was very water down.

Yelp
Came to Kiddo with the hope this was our new neighborhood spot. Sad to say it was a major disappointment. Dinner began with a 20 minute wait before anyone even came to our table. First course we got was a mushroom fondue, which I will say was delicious. One of the highlights of the night. The second dish was pumpkin wedges that were wildly undercooked and dry. We never ever send things back, but we asked if they could take the plate away. The chef was kind enough to come personally apologize and give us the brussel sprout dish and the cheese plates. While they were complimentary and overall tasted fine, I feel like I would have been disappointed if I'd paid for those dishes. They were average at best. The server then came back to ask for drinks and I'd asked for a wine recommendation and it was so uncomfortable for some reason. She didn't have any recs and said she could ask the bartender to come by? She then left and while we're waiting for the final course another server showed up asking if we wanted dessert even though we hadn't gotten the rest of our food. The pork entree finally showed and while the pork was fantastic, the sauce was much too sweet. We ultimately decided to forgo dessert even though we were celebrating an anniversary and I had made note of that on the reso. No one said anything, which was fine, but I feel like it was multiple small things that ultimately led to an uncomfortable and overall unenjoyable dining experience that wasn't worth the money. We will not be coming back, sorry kiddo :(

Yelp
Kiddo is an exciting new restaurant to add to the neighborhood! Extremely clean/sleek atmosphere with warm inviting vibes. Very knowledgeable and friendly staff. Food was absolutely amazing, fresh and delicious. Would recommend this place 1000 times. Dont question it, go!!
