Ping Pong Dim Sum

The restaurant was almost completely empty when I arrived. And despite the nice presentation of the dishes, by far my favorite item on the table was the garlic chili paste - and that might be the only thing they didn't make themselves. The garlic chili paste was essential to make any of their dishes even remotely palatable. Their soup dumplings were all broken by the time they made it to our table and the remainder of the dumplings were either over cooked or undercooked. Extremely disappointing food and absurdly over priced.

A Dim Sum place with a twist. Not your traditional dim sum. They tried to make dim sum gourmet, but it kinda didn't work out that well. The food taste good, but gourmet part failed me.

There is a reason why its sooooo easy to spend ALL your money here ! From Duck Bao sliders to soup dumpling to the amazing green tea and chicken dimsum. Oh how I hate and love this place 😪

Service was mediocre. I was waited on by 4 different people. They did not communicate well with me or each other. Food was good, but nothing special. There are other places in Chinatown to eat dumplings of the same quality for less money.

Very cool atmosphere, and helpful staff. Prices were just a tad higher than reasonable, but I thoroughly enjoyed everything we ordered. The dim sum dishes were delicious, creative, and fresh to order. The duck sliders are a favorite and a must have, crispy prawn balls were excellent with the sauce, pork shumai is a classic and definitely filled with plenty of meat, fresh edamame was on point, five spice pork fried rice was very flavorful, and we had the last order of steamed buns they had for the evening. Capped it off with fried sesame doughnuts and mango flavored mochi ice cream......yummy! This place wouldn't beat an authentic Chinatown dim sum place, but the food, quick service, and modern environment definitely hooked me for a repeat visit.

Pretty good dim sum, Baozi and xiaolongbao. really pricey though for what you get. I’ve had all the same stuff all over China and it’s decent quality

Absolutely terrible. We walk inside, no hostess, no nothing. There's a massive cluster of people in front of us that haven't even had their names taken yet, we wait about 10-15 minutes before someone even takes our name down. We wait to be seated for about another 20 minutes later, which is fine, I expected that. However when we're seated and no one comes around for ANOTHER 20 minutes, no drink orders, no nothing. Finally our waitress appears to take our orders, only for us to find out that nearly half the menu is unavailable. We make do and put in our orders. Another 20 minutes pass and our drinks finally appear, and another 30 minutes after that some of our dishes appear. It's good to note that this restaurant was not busy, and more than half empty. Our waitress checked on us ONCE in the hour and a half we were here. And to add insult to injury, all of the meat dishes were mostly breading, I understand it was dumplings but I should at least taste SOME meat! The food was poor, the staff was rude, and the wait was extremely long. Do not waste your time and money at this place.

I find the one star reviews here confusing for this location. As first time visitors we were greeted with smiles, immediate seating with a crowded house, immediate waiter attention and constant attention through out our meal. We are vegan and ordered everything vegan on the menu. The dim sum is different from traditional dim sum I've had in Korea Town in NYC but it was still very tasty. The spring rolls were nice as well. The rice was a bit bland but it almost served as a sorbet after some of the spicier bites. We ordered the Stir fried tofu as the main, the portion was a bit lacking in vegetables but there was a tonne of tofu. It was crazy good, we asked the server how it was made and he knew and told us happily. Our drinks were amazing, I had the lemongrass/saffron tea and it was so good, reminded me of honeysuckle. The manager came to our table and asked us if we enjoyed our meal. In all it was one of the best meals we had while in DC.
