Crispy, decadent, and absolutely perfectly seasoned chicken. Not too salty (which tends to be the case for lots of fried chicken chains). Thai tea is yummy, I don't taste the overtly strong artificial powder taste of other Thai teas especially at some milk tea shops. Real yummy. Low prices. Very happy and satisfied.

Ordering was pretty easy it was off the kiosk in the front... the service was awesome as well my order was a bit messed up and she made sure everything was correct before. Sure it was on my part... I ordered Thai iced tea with coconut milk and Crystal boba it was nice and refreshing...with a See ew with chicken and shrimp.. very generous with the protein. I really enjoyed it. The only thing missing was some sort of spicy condiment... I didn't ask for any but I would have figured they would have put some in my to go bag.. but I guess I have to ask next time....I will definitely be going back to try something different.

Customer Service plus. Friendly, helpful, explained the ingredients in each of our selections to make sure were not allergic to anything (we’re not). Did I mention she had a cheerful personality? Ordered food, given a device that buzzed when our food was ready. Our food was so fresh, hot off the grill. She provided extra spice and chilies, sauce to increase the heat. Excellent quality. The Tom Kha soup had a slightly different taste than we are use to, but not a bad variation. Wife got the fried rice with shrimp, I got the Pad Thai with chicken. The 3 items were very filling. The open venue with long tables, couches, etc for seating and large roll-up windows provided the indoor/outdoor environment. Very enjoyable meal.

Went here on a day where they weren’t busy and it took a while to get the food from them. Which I think they are new so that might be why. We got two mains and an appetizer and it was about 48$ which to me is a little pricy and the food was not bad but just took a long time and noting too special.

Ordered yellow Curry chicken & it was honestly VERY GOOD. Delicious flavors, came with 2 scoops of rice & was priced fairly. Quality and authentic Thai food.

Do not get the spring rolls. 18 dollars for 4 rolls.. each roll has one shrimp that has been sliced in half. So i got 4 shrimps and all lettuce for 18 dollars. Never again.

Everything was amazing, the atmosphere and the quality of the food was simply great! The kind woman that took my order was beyond fantastic, I highly recommend this place if anyone wants some Thai food. Great prices too! 😃👍🏽

Always hits the spot! Fast, good, hot, spicy, not dry...just perfect! Staff is friendly and the consistency has always been done right.

I'm a big fan of their chicken wings. They are nice and juicy with the perfect amount of crunch. Not overly done. So good. I've tried both and I still can't figure out which one I like more lol. I wish they had more pieces available to order.

Quick and dirty review, this is a little food vendor inside a National City food hall. The cashier was friendly and all smiles, food was largely portioned and well priced. Food was great, lots of flavor in the panang curry, good thick-ish sauce. The texture of the tofu was firm and chewy (how I like it). I'm open to trying the other vendors in this food hall but I anticipate returning for some thai food down the line.

Hidden away in National City's food hall - noting it's almost full of venues with only 2 or 3 still shuttered - this little gem is easy to walk past as it's just to the left of the entrance from the big dinning room. The food is amazing. Three of us ordered different items and they were all prepared on the spot. Very generous potions, including the Pad Thai with pork belly that, unlike most places, did not skimp on the meat. I ordered a space rating of 3, and it was perfect. The young lady with the heart shaped glasses at the front could not have been nicer and more helpful. She brought our drinks out to the table while we waited for our beeper to let us know the food was ready. Ambiance is fine. It's a food hall. The only criticism is that many venues are playing music and it just makes noise for the customers, while I'm sure the employees of the venues enjoy their tunes. Fortunately, this restaurant did not have the tunes blazing, so they did not contribute to the noise. We've had Thai food all over San Diego County. This is now one of our favorites. We'll be back.

Got the Pad Thai and Tamarind crispy chicken. Highly recommend both. Got the level four spice for both and added siracha to my noodles.

I ordered the Pad Thai w/ shrimp - level 2 spice, an order of spring rolls, and a Thai tea. The flavor is on point, smells delicious, and the food service is quick and super friendly. I highly recommend especially if you enjoy Thai food! Photo doesn't do a justice for this deliciousness.

I photographed the dishes here a few months back, and couldn't wait to come back in and try them all out. I was in the neighborhood today, so pow! Had their tamarind crispy chicken and Tom yum fries. Friggen awesome! Whatever they dust those fries with is off the hook, but the fried basil mixed sends them over the top. The chicken was definitely crispy and full of flavor! I wish I could eat more, cuz I'd definitely order some of their other items. Until next time!

Ping Yang Thai is my go-to place whenever I eat at Market on 8th. I love getting the pad see ew. The wide rice noodles are perfectly cooked and the flavors are well-balanced. The protein I got was the fried pork belly, but the other choices are just as good. Stopped into the food hall with the family...they all opted for mexican food and i was trying to be a bit healthier. This was the best option here. my food was super yummy and i have no regrets with my pick!! so glad to have such a cool place in the area. Can't wait to come try the other spots and maybe meet people for a happy hour.

The food at this place is good. I've only tried the curry and the gyoza but both times I got it, it was good. A little overpriced and the service is a little slow but I like the food enough to have come here a few times.

The business name of this vendor at the Market on 8th food hall is self-explanatory. Starters, individual skewers of meats and vegetables, greens, and house specials were the main menu categories. During my visit, a few items were sold out, specifically the Northern Thai style sausage, the bacon-wrapped enoki mushroom skewer, and the bacon-wrapped asparagus skewer. The house special was a preset combination consisting of a protein served with sticky rice and papaya salad. There were four choices so I picked the BBQ pork set as opposed to the chicken satay, BBQ chicken, or deep fried pork. It took at least 15 minutes before my food was ready inside a cardboard takeout box. The pork was cut into small pieces with a cup of tamarind sauce provided as a dip for the meat. The sticky rice was wrapped in tin foil, and the papaya salad was served on a small tray. I liked the salad the best because the veggies were refreshing and covered with a light dressing that contained lime juice and fish sauce. For the price of $14.50, I thought the food was average in quality and portion size.

I'm trying to patronize every lil eatery in Market on 8th and last night, finally did so with Ping Yang. I had a few questions about the menu and the gentleman was very kind answering all of them. So, I decided to get the pork belly skewers (3 for $7.50) and to make it a combo, add $4.50 (comes with sticky rice, salad, and 2 pieces of the veggies egg roll/ vegan gyoza/ or chicken gyoza). When you pick your skewer (3)- it must be the same protein. You can also choose 2 sauces. I went with the house green sauce (jalapeño & something else to make it creamy- real good!) and the teriyaki. I will admit, the entire portion for the skewer combo was perfect. It wasn't overbearing and I didn't feel weighed down and tired after eating. I will definitely go back to try more items on the menu. Look for additional items written on paper!

I love this place!!! My fiancé and I come to market on 8th just for this spot. The chicken satay and the drunken noodles are our go to. Be careful as the drunken noodles are spicy but delicious!! The peanut sauce on the chicken satay is sooooo good. I also recommend the honey chicken plate. Everything here is amazing. The people are always so nice. I absolutely love this place one of my favorite Thai places in San Diego

The food is outstanding...love went into this dish. Employees are very friendly and service above standards. The market place has plenty of space to sit and enjoy the weather.

PHENOMENAL! I'm not a big pad Thai girl but I tried my boyfriend's and it was actually pretty good like I could eat it if someone got it for me I LOVE Thai food though and have super high standards for it since I've had a lot of subpar and awful Thai food. This one is a gem!! I got the fresh spring rolls (not the absolute best I've ever had but solid for sure) and the Thom ka! The Thom ka so good omg I've never had it before but boy did it hit the spot. Definitely going back. The service was super sweet too they were very kind over the phone and when I got there to pickup.

This is my favorite spot to order from in all of Market on 8th. I enjoy foods from the other restaurants as well. But this place is my favorite so far. I really enjoy the garlic chicken plate, spicy chicken pad see ew, and the spicy shrimp pad Thai. You can choose what protein you prefer per dish (chicken, shrimp, beef or none). If you like foods really spicy, ask for extra spices. Level 5 isn't always spicy enough in my opinion.

Hi my name is Chef Woods The Black Thai. My son invited me out for lunch, that meant I was paying. He suggested Thai food knowing that I liked Thai food and it was not far from our church. To my surprise, when we found the place it was in the 8th street Market and it was big as a box. But the food that came out was an explosion of Thai flavors. I got to meet the only two employees, the chef was once a former Monk from Thailand. Who turned to cook Thai food once coming to San Diego. Did I say that the food was great, almost the best Thai Food I have had other than my own, outside of Thailand. It made me jealous, that it was not me doing the cooking. Never allow looks to distract you from quality food. If you are in the mood for Thai, go see Ping Yang Thai.

Gave an early dinner run here tonight. The pork honey rice was a good protein boost. Although it tasted more like teriyaki I thought it was fairly good. Thought I saw more traditional Thai dishes here so I'm curious to try them down the line.

Came here today without knowing this is where I was coming. I've drove past this place a couple times and have told myself I'd try it soon. Well I was craving Thai food today and decided to go to place down the street by my house. When I got there I realized it was closed due to issues in building? I quickly looked up a place on here for another Thai place to go to. I saw this one and liked the reviews and it wasn't to far from me. When I got there I was pleased to see it was where I been wanting to go all along. The outside of building is called La Central Public Market that's why I didn't know it was in there. Well I went in and my daughter got yellow curry and I got the pad see ew noodles and a Thai tea. Oh my gawd!!!!! It soothed my soul!!!!!! The taste was everything and more of what I wanted And needed!!!! The portions are good and the the prices are decent. I will definitely be back for more and try other vendors in there as well.

We originally went to 8th street market to visit the Filipino spot but stopped at Ping Yang instead. My bf ordered the honey pork rice bowl. I ordered the green papaya veggie salad with shrimp. We also had the 4 piece fried chicken wings. Pleasantly surprised! The food was amazing! Fresh, seasoned perfectly, soooo delicious! We paired dinner with beers from the beer tasting room. The ambience was so relaxing. Great service, dog friendly. Will DEFINITELY be returning.

Stumbled upon this stall and wanted some small bites. I got the cheesy wontons and pork belly skewers. The cheesy wontons have a garlic flavor to them and have a lot of cream cheese filling! Super delicious with sweet and sour chili sauce. The pork belly skewers surprised me! They were not dry at all and seasoned with a little salt and pepper. It came with a creamy green dipping sauce and sambal chili on the side. If I were hungrier I'd definitely try some more entrees but from what I had, both items gave me a good first impression!

Everyone in San Diego needs to eat here! Everything is incredible from the team to the food. Everyone is incredibly kind, considerate, friendly, inviting and beyond. The food is equally incredible! Make sure to order gyoza. There are a few versions and they're all incredible. Also be sure to order the honey pork rice and the pad see ew. I generally get the fired pork belly which as you can imagine is incredible.

The pad Thai was amazing and very flavorful. We also had pad se ew and that was also good. My husband's biggest complaint was we got an order of sticky rice and it was not sticky rice- it was steamed rice and a big let down when we got home. I'm not saying it broke his heart... but he was pretty upset. But pad Thai and pad se ew was yummy

This is my new favorite Thai place! I've ordered a handful of times now and it is consistently good. On top of that, they have excellent customer service and even greeted me by name at my second visit. Pretty impressive! Our favorites are the Honey Pork, Pad See Ew, and Pad Thai. The lychee drink they offer is also very yummy. They are located inside Market on 8th so parking isn't always the greatest but with a little patience and possibly a bit of walking, it is definitely worth it.

Service was fast and friendly! I ordered the chicken rice plate and it was fire!! My man ordered the honey pork bowl and I stole some of his! Both were delicious and the pineapple drinks were refreshing.... next time I'm ordering the gyoza!

Super delicious Thai food in National City. Their fried rice is great and their soups are a real treat. The Market on 8th is a very nice location as well.

We picked up a number of apps from this spot while visiting Market on 8th. The spring rolls and chicken wings were my favorite - fried perfectly crisp on the outside. The thai sausage was delicious and flavorful as well. I wasn't a huge fan of the cheesy wontons personally. but enjoyed everything else.

This was the first spot I tried in the market. I just love Thai Food!! Anyways, I ordered the cream cheese wontons, pork belly plate that came with sticky rice and papaya salad. The wontons was bomb. You know it's good when they wrap it in a square looking pouch. The pork belly dish was a bit dry. Wasn't much of a fan of the sauce. And the papaya salad that came with it was bomb. I got a medium I believe. Overall price was a bit much but I understand that food market places prices are higher than usual. I would definitely come back here to try other dishes. :)

At market 8 National city. Not to far from anything. The one 'n ONLY Thai Food around N.C. Everything is so Yummm... You guys have to JUST GO THERE..

LET ME TELL YOU...... every time we come to Market on 8th, this place is my go to!!! I pretty much have tried every single thing on the menu and loved every single one of it. My most favorite of all are a couple of things.... Pork Belly fried rice is to die for!!!! it has the perfect crunch to the pork belly and the fried rice has the right amount of everything with a kick of sweetness to it. Garlic chicken wings is just a classic snack to munch on with a side of beer from Barkada (alcohol vendor inside the market). Also, the terriyaki gyoza hits the spot when you just want a small snack. Even my daughter loves snacking on these. Papaya salad is a must every time you order here. It's fresh, it's tangy, it's spicy-ness kicks my tastebuds butt and it's delicious. Best pad see ew I've ever had! ALSO, they always ask if you're allergic to anything before ordering. Never really had anyone ask me that before so that makes me feel very taken care of. They really care about their customers! Anyways, another thing I ALWAYS and I mean ALWAYS order from here is the Milky Green Tea!!! No words to describe it. Just mind blowing! Best one I've ever had! Just try it and you'll know exactly what I'm talking about. Delicious and affordable food! What more can you ask for? Oh yeah, super friendly staff! They're quick and just awesome people! I met the owners and let me tell you, they're really something else! Funny and just very welcoming. They were very informative when it comes to asking for recommendations the first few times I came here. Overall, I love Ping Yang! My go to Thai food! If you haven't been, you're missing out!!!!

Waited for 10 minutes, took 8 minutes to put the thin ass meat on the skewers and 2 minutes to cook. Over priced and not worth.

Been here three times so far, enough to say that they have a consistent friendly service. The food is also great. As a starter, their fried chicken chicken is a great food item to start with. It is on point, crisp on the outside and moist on the outside. You get about 5-6 pieces at most - No crazy messy dripping sauce on it, which is exactly how we love it. Their pad Thai is also very good, had it with shrimp or tofu, and they were both satisfying, not overly sweet, fresh tasting. Their fried pork belly is perfect, it goes well with the sticky rice and papaya salad!!! One of our favorite dishes is their garlic chicken, it is is definitely palatable and flavorful! Portion is not super huge, foods are priced according to current market but still reasonably priced, the food workers, not sure if they are the owners, but they surely all work super hard, and often times, they open and serve food up to 8p-8:30pm compared to the some other places at this food market, which close way before 8pm. You can depend on this place to take care of you if you are hungry for good foods, and you get a service with a smile. We love this place and it is definitely worth coming back. Essentially, we recommend it.

Delicious food and great service. I had the honey pork rice bowl and it was delicious. I really appreciated the friendly and efficient customer service. Also I appreciated that they asked if I had a food allergy. I don't, but my son does so I really appreciate when restaurants consider people with food allergies.

They added a carrot cut out as a flower for garnish, it was cute. Presentation could have been better though. I did get sick after eating this so it was the first and last time buying from here for me.

This is one of those places I should've definitely taken a picture of my food! It was SO GOOD and the guy with the glasses who rang me up was so sweet and helpful, he helped me pick the spice level of my papaya salad since I was hesitant but I'm glad he pushed me to the 4 because it wasn't bad, I will deficient back and try level 5 spice! I got the pork belly set and it was DELICIOUS. Also got the shrimp spring rolls and it was so fresh. Probably my favorite place in here! (Market on 8th)

I stumbled on this when the original restaurant I was going to was closed. At first, the area wasn't a great location, BUT I insisted to find this place and was take to a old huge warehouse looking building(?) we wandered inside and I immediately loved the ambiance and felt we hit a hole in the wall, jackpot! A lady was singing in the sitting area that had tables and chairs, a couch sitting area, a bar, outdoor patio with hanging lights, so many different restaurants! it reminded me of Spain, an indoor marketplace of cute kiosk restaurants so many to choose from. But I was adamant about Pad Thai! And had the marinated deep fried pork pad thai and a thai green tea jasmine cold drink with coconut milk! omg so yummy! the lady at the register was so sweet and patient with all my questions and explained the menu etc. My new go to place! The food, the sweet lady and perfect ambiance was perfect for a date night or for group gathering for celebrations!

I ordered the pork belly skewers with the green house sauce and let me tell you they are phenomenal! I don't think I've had skewers that tasty! I can't stress enough how good the green sauce was. I will be definitely be coming here more often! Everything taste fresh and amazing.
