My husband just bought a pair of 'The Mayor' high top sneakers and knit cap. We loved the quality and style of both products. The two employees at the new District Detroit location were super pleasant and helpful. We love the Pingree story and mission and are excited to become a part of your community.

I’m absolutely in love with my custom shoes from Pingree Detroit. The craftsmanship is unreal — rich leather, beautifully structured, and durable in a way you can feel from the very first step. They’re the kind of shoes that make a statement without trying: style, substance, and sustainability all in one. What makes them even more meaningful is knowing they were handmade — ethically, skillfully, and sustainably — right here in Detroit. I can’t say that about any other pair of shoes I own. There’s something powerful about wearing a product crafted by people in your own community, with materials and methods that honor both workers and the planet.

I’m a big advocate of supporting local industry & ethical manufacturing processes. And for that I render A+ in that department as Pingree is trying to make a difference. I purchased a grey leather work folio and have handled a range of their products. In terms of price I think it’s on the higher end and their construction skill is ok. Materials & build is robust, however stitching quality needs improvement, yet bombproof, just not refined. I added a couple pics for reference. Quality it seems more on par with heavy duty goods you’d source from Russia or China; I doubt it’ll ever fail and it will get the job done. That’s not necessarily a bad thing, however given the price point and refinement I say 3 stars. I hope the quality improves as I’m on board with their raison d’etre. Even with the military discount I’m hesitant to repurchase for the time being. I’m a veteran & really want to support an organization like them. A 3 star isn’t meant as bad, however considering price point and value I cannot give 4 or higher…perhaps in the near future though. Edit: Hooah for the pro-activeness of the org’s leadership. I’m a critical guy and probably dig deeper than most. I was a former Technical Warrant Officer and leather and sewing is one of my many hobbies that I enjoy.

Really love the new shoes they made for me. The staff were super friendly and the custom shoes came on time exactly as they told me. I don't have a habit of naming people for their privacy, so I'll just say I had a chance to meet many of the team in the workshop and the person who made myself shoes made me feel very welcome. If you want a super unique Detroit product (the shoes are hand-made with a unique number and the bio of your maker) and an experience that is world-class, get a pair of shoes custom made for you by the team at Pingree. The transaction from origin to delivery has been consistently exceptional. Proud owner of the drawstring backpack which is a travel dream-in, around, or out of town. Holds everything including technology (iPad), bottled water, with clear, easy; yet secure access. Thank you for an exquisite experience! Bonus: it has the new padded strap which feels effortless.

Hi, y’all my name is Cara McWilliam- I have been to the Eastern market shop the last two weekends and I just wanted to give some feedback on my purchase. I get so many compliments I could sell the Motown Venue out of the back of my Bronco. 😆😂 Anyway, I’ve had this beautiful bag now for a couple weeks now and would like to suggest a seatbelt clip to secure the strap from slipping. It’s a bit annoying so that’s the only reason for not 5 ⭐️. I’ll give 5 ⭐️ for my second purchase the Detroit Drawstring in Green and black leather. I love your work, anyone on the fence about getting a new bag, you won’t regret it. ☀️

Amazing custom shoes! Gave them the ultimate test in NYC last week, super comfortable! These will become a normal wear for city walking.

Wallets are super nice and high quality, I have had mine for 5 years now. They also make really nice B2B gifts, I had mine customized to our event, the handmade aspect was a great conversation starter.
