Really cool factory tour! I must confess I'm not really into sardines but coming here may have converted me. It was actually one of my favorite things I did on my trip to Portugal, if you're all interested about the history, food, or most importantly the history of food, you'll love it.
You get a fun tour of the old offices along with a viewing of a (very) short film, a primer on the history of the company, a tour of the actual factory, and at the very end a tasting of one tin of sardines. You also get to wrap your very own can of sardines. I think for some tours you have to pay to get the can afterwards but for the one I did it was included in the price.
The staff here are also very nice. We accidentally booked our tour for the wrong day, we asked if we could reschedule last minute and they were able to slot us in. Our tour guide was super nice and informative as well.
Great gift shop too! It's way too easy to spend an entire paycheck here! Lots of cool goodies here including limited edition tins and accessories.
