The Best Restaurants, Wineries, and Wildlife in Adelaide, Australia | Eater

"Looking like an A-frame Swiss chalet from the outside, inside it’s dark, moody, and outright sexy; it’s a cozy laneway bar to end the night with an espresso martini and cocktails that celebrate local distillers, winemakers, and South Australian ingredients." - Amanda Smith

Why Adelaide Is Australia’s Most Exciting Food and Wine Destination

It's such a gem in the city! The Pina Colada is simply delicious and they always have great DJ sets. We went for the 10th anniversary celebration and I hope this place will continue thriving for more years!

The Baltimore sting was delicious. My partner loved the negroni. The pink moon clover was a bit in the sweet side. Disappointed to see a cocktail bar of this standard using cheaper options eg triple sec instead of Cointreau so we didn’t stay as long to try these cocktail options. The staff were prompt and friendly and the bar has a lovely intimate feel.

Was walking past and the vibe of this place caught my attention, honestly kind of a hidden location on Leigh Street but I’m lucky I spotted it, great service & delicious cocktails by Lachlan, beautiful atmosphere & amazing music!! I will come back here such a hidden gem!!

Google
Pink Moon has some of the best cocktails I've had in a long time - as a bartender that's definitely an achievement! Staff were super friendly and helpful, and the service was speedy. Very cool decor, great music. Absolutely worthy of 5* and if I wasn't on holidays here I'd be back every weekend. Shout.out again to the staff!

Nice courtyard that you can enjoy ur quality times with your friend. They can offer many different booze 🥃 🍸. Would considered come back. Nothing to complaint about.

Google
A lovely little bar here. Very much enjoyed all the cocktails we tried, quite a large list of cocktails to try! Highly recommend the Gin and Juice.

Google
Really impressed with the drinks and atmosphere. Came back a week later and it was $5 gin and tequila shots. Great drinks, great service.

Google
Who would have thought that Adelaide would be cool enough to have a venue that’s effectively conveyed a lane way into a covered bar? With Scandinavian feels, Pink Moon packs a punch with its cocktails, great service and Uber hip atmosphere. The jambon was also a great accompaniment with our drinks - yum!

Yelp
I should point out that this place is pretty pricey, but then again the beers here are also pretty unique, so I guess that goes with the territory. This little bar is located in one of Adelaide's side streets, namely where there tends to be more of a hip crowd than the more youngish crowds you tend to find around the corner. However, this bar is a rather nice bar, though it certainly does get pretty crowded at times. However, it wasn't too bad.

Yelp
When I was a kid, I used to dream about buildings like this. Such a cute little cubby with cute little windows. Hidden & squashed between two big buildings. The botanical section in the middle is so well excecuted with the little uplights in the garden. Great, friendly service. The size of the venue is quite limiting though, difficult to get a seat given it was during the holiday period and nothing much was open in the area. Cocktails were just delicious. We went on a night where torrential rain hit so we we had to find an alternative venue as there weren't any spots left inside, so didn't get a chance to try more food or more cocktails (sad face) :( Will be back again perhaps on a less busy and less torrential night. xo

Yelp
I came here on a Friday fully intending to try the fried chicken. After browsing their Instagram page, I came across a corn, avocado and bean salad that sounded amazing! I needed some protein so I asked for the fried chicken to be added to it however, only the grilled chicken could be the addition. Still enticed by the salad, I grabbed it with the grilled chicken and was thoroughly satisfied. The full description of the salad is charred corn, avocado, wood fired capsicum, jalapeño, black beans & citrus yoghurt dressing. The dressing was beautiful and light and suited it perfectly and the salad was fresh and crunchy. The service was quick and friendly, the food was amazing - I will definitely be back to try that fried chicken!

Yelp
Just when you thought they couldn't possibly have another cool place onto Leigh Street, they were able to squeeze one more in. Pink Moon Saloon is an adorable little bar made to resemble a ski lodge. It may look small from the outside, but it does extend back into a bar, courtyard and kitchen. The bar has a collection of local and import craft beers as well as some fancy cocktails which I'd be interested to try next time. There's a wood fire oven in the back that creates a great alpine atmosphere, especially during cooler weather, but be warned; expect to have that smoky smell come home with you in your clothes. Very good first impression. I hope to be back soon and try some more food an drinks

Yelp
A tiny, narrow small bar tucked away in Adelaide. It has a woodsy, home type feel with the bar situated as you walk in and the kitchen in the back. Standing room in front, opening up to a small open courtyard and then more indoor seating in back. Not a lot of places to sit so get to know your neighbors, but I think the vibe is that we are all friends in this type of bar. I found the service very good, asking us if they should "make room" for us, but we preferred to stand. I tried a very refreshing cocktail, but next time maybe I'll try the Pink Moon Clover club, if I am feeling adventurous (and spendy). My guy stuck to the beers per usual (PS- they remembered his name even though he's only been there once...make what you will of that). :) They have about 4 or 5 on tap, mostly local flavors, but certainly all Australian. Wines also mostly from SA with a few from VIC, TAS and WA thrown in there. I did not try the food, but hopefully next time. It doesn't look to be a big menu, but then again not a large kitchen. It does look satisfying however (ploughman's, sandwiches, etc). Great after work joint in the ADL CBD.

Yelp
Tonight was the first time we have been here and it's safe to say we will return The service was spot on and looked after us from the minute we stepped into the place and made us feel at home. Prices are average for this part of town and it was a very busy time of night we visited.

Yelp
Watched this place being built from the start from my previous office. Good drinks, quite snug so can be hard to get a spot sometimes but it's worth a visit. Staff are cool and knowledgeable.

Yelp
This is probably the most bizarre place in Adelaide so far. Leigh St in itself is a pretty awesome pedestrian friendly shared use street with outdoor dining and constant movement of people. Pink Moon Saloon is a like a Wendy House sandwiched between two buildings in a tight little laneway. It stands out so much that it looks totally out of place - which is absolutely fantastic. Stepping into the threshold and you can't even tell that you're in Adelaide. The smooth timber walls and exposed ceiling makes you feel like you're in someone's wood cabin in North America and there's a wood fire burning away. There's even a thermometer, arrows and other bits and pieces to finish off the whole cabin feel. It is absolutely fantastic. The menu itself looks so complicated because it is so simple. Don't come here expecting a big meal - they've got fancy salads and sandwiches. Don't fret though, the sandwiches are massive and the salads fresh and plentiful. The bottled condiments and sauces are a clever touch as well. Overall, it's more of a drinking hole than a restaurant, so if you want to catch up with friends on a Friday afternoon this is the place to go. We definitely need more Pink Moon Saloons in Adelaide.

Yelp
Great place good wine, beer selection. Great staff and patio. CLT++ Come with friends, colleagues, bring a date. So the folks from Clever Little Tailor, along with some of their amigos have put together this little alleyway-in-an-alleyway joint. It's a mixture between ski chalet and hipster drinking hole. I mean those as positives by the way. It's not too flash, but not too polished either. The staff are attentive, helpful and knowledgable about what's on their menu (call that a proxy for "they care") and there's a healthy mix of beers/wines and cocktails that should leave most tastes satisfied. The after work crowd started rolling in at 5pm and it isn't such an enormous joint that there will be seating room well beyond that. But that's fine. Depends what you're after of course. In short, PMS (great acronym!?!) adds another eclectic choice to the discerning Adelaide alleyway imbibers choice of watering hole. Looks like this one will be a keeper.

Yelp
"Don't talk to the log lady" reads the sign on the door to the dining lodge. Pink Moon Saloon is meant to conjure up images of a mountain chalet somewhere deep in the woods. And the experience touches the other senses too. The air is thick with the smokey scents of the kitchen. And this is carried through to the food. BRISKET SANDWICH. Essentially a luscious pulled beef and cheese sandwich, with slaw in there somewhere. Rich, moreish, utterly delicious. It comes with home cut potato discs on the side and some picked onion. You know, for a bit of freshness. CLUB SANDWICH. My dining companions have done this dish many a time and insist I'll love it. Square white bread - yep, nothing gourmet about that part - encase a mess of smokey thick-cut ham (or bacon?), succulent grilled chicken, chipotle sauce, and a whole lot of other stuff I couldn't distinguish. It's an ugly piece of food but, serious, last meal kind of stuff. The flavours, together, almost made my eyeballs pop out. Again, served with those retro potato discs a la family BBQ. A piece of pickled cauliflower made me feel like I was being healthy. PERSIMMON GLAZED RIBS. Not very meaty. Sweet, but not particularly flavourful. Not much a fan. Service is swift and knowledgable. Drinks are well considered, but not cheap. In love.

Yelp
I'm glad to see there are some interesting new spots popping up in Adelaide. Pink Moon has adorable interior, but the drinks are too rich for my blood. $12 for beer or $18 for a cocktail - wow. It seems like a place you'd go once with out-of-town guests and then find somewhere cheaper to drink.

Yelp
Visited during the TDU 2016 after my wife read a review in The Australian and suggest I try it with my cycling companions. Great spot - several of the group had the daily special which was chicken 'chops' which, by consensus of the group, was "the best chicken they ever tasted". I generally regard chick on a menu as uninspiring but this was truly very, very good. I like dark beers than there was a good selection - I had a Mornington stout or porter which I will try to track down now that I am back in Perth. Seems to be a back lane thing happening in Adelaide, and Leigh St has some good spots on offer - coffee in the morning or further drinks after dinner.

Yelp
Perfectly timed with the arrival of Spring, the award-winning spin-off of Pink Moon Saloon brings us the Pink Moon Deli. This is little venue does all great things between two slices of bread. If your old toastie just isn't cutting it anymore but still want that breadie goodness at lunch, I suggest you stop by here for some nosh. They offer a beers on taps, and a humble wine selection. Coffee and freshly squeezed juice is also their thang. Fried Chicken Fridays is what I suspect will get this little place pumping. Matched with a the acidity of a cold cider, it would be hard to beat. Hello Spring, you have finally sprung! Be warned, food is a little steep pricewise. A piece of fried chicken will set you back $6.00. Sandwiches are around the $9.50 mark.

Yelp
Tony is awesome! So friendly and welcoming.... Gave us fabulous recommendations for food and beverage, finding the perfect food for my pescatarian friend. Food was excellent despite our need to move tables THREE times. His colleague aka 'Tom Yates from House of Cards' is also v easy on the eye. Marshall however was amazing, so much better than Tony

Yelp
Lovely little place that gives you the feeling your far away in a small wooden bar on top of a mountain. Its light and breezy and the owner is great to have a chat with. The drinks list is small but quality. There is limited seating and can get very busy and a bit cramped. I prefer to get in early or reserve a spot to really get the most out of this cool little bar.

Yelp
An interesting place to grab a drink on Leigh street. The front entrance is very unassuming but once inside you feel like you're in a fancy log cabin. Nice selection of bottled and Tap beers along with various cocktails. The finger food goes down well. Seating can be limited due to the space. Well worth a visit.
