Pink Nori

We’ve been ordering from here regularly over the last 4 years, but the quality has noticeably gone down. I ordered an Alaska Roll and the salmon was an extremely fatty cut, and it smelled off. I was too afraid to eat it and unfortunately had to throw it away. The Gyoza, edamame and scallion pancake were ok, but were cold by the time they arrived. This used to be our favorite sushi spot in Astoria, it’s a shame.

This is a very good sushi spot in Astoria! It has a nice ambiance and still casual vibe. They have a wide assortment of sushi rolls and other items like sashimi and noodle soups. We tried the Gorilla Roll and Flaming Dragon Roll, as well as some gluten free options. It's very cool they have a separate gluten free menu! We also ordered some virgin drinks, a mango mojito and Pina colada. They were good, not great. The sushi was very flavorful and delicious. The pricing and service was very good.

came here to eat dinner with my boyfriend and loved it. we ordered a bunch of different sushi rolls so i can’t remember exactly what to recommend but everything was so good. he had the fried cheesecake and i had lychee as our dessert and we were beyond satisfied. highly recommend!

Food was very fresh. The food arrived at a timely fashion. The staff was friendly and attentive. Great selection of wine. My only recommendation is that they expand their selection of cocktails to an espresso martini. Otherwise, great place.

Pretty good sushi restaurant. I've had better sushi but definitely this spot is worth trying. I really like homemade sauces that come with some of the special rolls. The Food was ordered to go and it was very nicely packaged.

This was my first time coming here ans it certainly won't be my last! I love that they have an entire gluten free menu available and placed on the table when you're seated. The service was a little slow/Disorganized (my appetizer was served before my drink) but that did not outshine the amazing care and attention I received. Our waitress was wonderful, the food was incredible and overall the restaurant was comfortable and welcoming to be in. I can't wait to go back again!

Came here during lunch and it was amazing. We had the Salmon Carpaccio and Takoyaki as appetizers and it came out perfectly. Nice presentation and very delicious. We had the Teriyaki lunch specials and it was good and filling. The service was nice and quick as well. Can’t wait to go back. Highly recommend.

I love pink nori. I have been going there for 11 years. The food is consistently delicious and the customer service is amazing. Even though I no longer live in Astoria, they remember my order every time I go back there.

Delightful experience. I've been here probably a dozen times over the past few years and they always leave me with a good experience. The vibe is very atmospheric and nice with the pink neon, the food is great, the prices are affordable, and the servers are always very friendly. Once a waitress (I believe her name is Hanna) happily tailored a top choice order for me when I came in with a stomach ache and I was able to enjoy a fantastic meal of foods that would not upset my stomach. This is excellent service. I have never lived anywhere near this restaurant and yet I find myself traveling out to Astoria several times a year for special occasions to enjoy the incredible Pink Nori sushi roll (it's the best specialty roll I've found yet). Highly recommend this spot.

I didn't have crazy high expectations about this place but I've got to say - it's pretty good. Came here with my family for a quick dinner together and the employees were great at accommodating our seating request - we were 6 at the table. Pink lights all over, plenty of seating even if it's a fairly small place. Cute decor. Service was pretty fast and it looked pretty clean. We had so many sushi pieces that it was kind of difficult to identify, but it's okay. Loved the pieces with the spicy tuna. We also had a duck salad, probably my favorite dish of the night. The downside of the dinner was my drink, the Lychees martini, which was NOT shaken at all and overall only tasted of alcohol with an aftertaste of lychees. I couldn't really drink it. Now, this is not a fancy place, it's pretty casual. But it's good if you are craving sushi or something a bit oriental.

*Delivery Review* FOOD: This is our go-to place to order sushi from in Astoria. We've tried other places and Pink Nori consistently has the best sushi from freshness to the fact that the rolls never look like they are too loose or falling apart on you. Our favorite special rolls are the Sexy Pink Lady which has salmon and mango in it (we love mango) and the Thinly Cucumber roll which is my go to if I don't want rice. It's wrapped in a thin slice of cucumber and has a variety of raw fish which makes it amazing. Go to regular rolls: Salmon Mango regular roll Spicy salmon roll Spicy tuna roll Spicy yellowtail Yellowtail avocado roll Something else we tried is the fried rice which was surprisingly amazing. It reminded my husband of hibachi style rice work more flavor than regular fried rice. One meal I didn't love is the mango chicken. I wanted to try something different. It kind of tasted like they cooked some chicken, threw cubed mango on it and added some steamed broccoli on the sides. I doubt it was actually cooked in a pan together. The sauce was very thin. They have a pretty extensive menu so its not too surprising that not every dish is amazing. DELIVERY EXPERIENCE: We've only had good experience with them. They deliver rather quickly! We're hoping to go in person some time so I'll update when we do!

I was in the mood for sushi so my I came here with my boyfriend for an early dinner. It was not busy so we got seated right away. I ordered their lychee cranberry non alcoholic drink and it was so good, it was sweet but not overly sweet. For our starter, we ordered the scallion pancake that came with a gingery sauce which was a bit tangy but absolutely delicious. We also ordered their ocean roll and mango roll. I loved their ocean roll because it had scallion. All the flavors in the roll just mixed so well. The mango roll was very refreshing and filling. The service was great and everyone was very attentive. Will be my new go to spot for sushi.

Sushi always tastes fresh. We have tried the rolls, sushi, and sashimi and love them all. Miso soup that comes with the rolls is also yummy. We have only ordered delivery from them. Time to make the orders and delivery time is pretty good. No complaints there. We have ordered from them a few times now and it's been one of the better sushi spots in the area.

I cant rate the food since it never came. I ordered it twice and never came. When I called the store, they blamed us for not being able to reach their driver. The second time we ordered through uber eats, the driver took over an hour even though we are less then a mile away. Still waiting

I got takeout from Pink Nori, so I can't speak much on the in-house service or decor. But! The speciality rolls really blew me away. I got the "Sexy Pink Lady Roll", which while not authentic, was so tasty and absolutely massive portion size. Would recommend!

Some of the best sushi takeout I've had in a really long time! Th seared scallop just wow! it was phenomenal. The regular scallop sushi piece was also very fresh. I like mine with a thin slice of lemon . The Sun kissed roll again wow! The combination of flavors are just perfect, the smokiness, the crunch, the heat all came together perfectly. I can't wait till I'm hungry again lol

A solid option for convenient sushi, with attentive staff, quick service and a neon pink aesthetic (which really isn't for me, but maybe for you?) I'd stick to the basics: the maki and roll combos are good choices at decent prices, but it gets less and less worth it the more expensive you go-- I got the chirashi which was fine, not great, but expensive. I think the fish they have just can't compete at the prices they're asking for. Come here for easy and reasonable sushi. Stick to the rolls. Go elsewhere to splurge.

Hi! I loved my experience at your establishment last year. I ordered excitedly last Monday 11/18 on ubereats and it was really not great. I'm usually someone who finishes all my sushi, but the texture to the spicy tuna rolls was terrible, the avocado was cut so huge in the eel avocado roll to where it ruined the rolls, and the salmon in my Philadelphia roll was kind of purplish... we threw a lot of it away. I went in person last year and the quality was phenomenal so I'm just wondering how the quality went from a 10 to a 1 so fast.. maybe there was a new chef in that afternoon?

Food was spectacular. It came with lots extra including miso soup AND a salad, both of which were phenomenal especially the ginger dressing. We chose the side option as the chicken gyoza and it came with SIX. All of them delicious. The Teriyaki sauce on the chicken was great and there was a decent amount of chicken, about 2 slices. I can't remember which sushi rolls it came with but they were also amazing. Service was very polite and helpful in ordering, they made it easy for us to share and we saved a lot of money doing so while still getting lots of food. Even the playlist was top notch and the lighting very cool. The only reason I don't leave 5 stars is we did not try much more than pictured. But I know what we DID try was 5 stars.

This is literally the best sushi I've ever had in my life. Everything is delicious and fresh. It's not overpriced. The cocktails are amazing. This is my all-time favorite sushi place. I gotta shout out the Ocean Kiss roll which is single-handedly the best sushi roll I've ever had. I will always keep coming back to Pink Nori

Decided to give it another try due to a deal on doordash combined with a sushi craving. Ordered the sushi deluxe meal, which includes 9 pieces of sushi, 1 tuna roll and miso soup. The portion seems to be the norm for the prices in the area but I was hoping for some premium fish. It came with salmon, tuna, yellowtail and white tuna, plus the tuna roll. Most of the fish was sweet but a few didn't have as much flavor.

This is a great local spot. I come here all the time. The only complaint I have is that when I order takeout, they pack all the different sushi in one container. I'm not someone that's picky but sometimes you don't want your items to touch. Otherwise, the sushi is high quality. Very much recommend

I been going to pink nori for the last mm 7 years. Either it's a takeout or stay in. I never had the slightest bad experience. Hands down my fav sushi place ever.

The food was absolutely delicious! I wish the portions for the appetizers were a bit bigger but that's only because I'm a fatass and loved every bite! I wanna come back and try more sushi options and drinks. The staff and waiter were professional and attentive, overall I loved it.

A friend and I was going to hang out, so we decided to have sushi for dinner, we were torn between two other spots, but we made the right decision by going to pink nori. One of the best spots I've had sushi from, fresh, delicious, reasonable. It's a cute comfy spot. Drinks were made to perfection, forgot to take a picture, the lychee mojito were definitely tasty. I think would be my go to sushi spot until I find another competitor. Would can't wait to go back. Food - 5/5

We got take out from this place. Nothing special it's another typical sushi spot. The pieces were ok. We got the three rolls which is honestly a really good deal and comes with miso soup.

Some of the tastiest sushi in all of Astoria and the five Burroughs. As an American Greek native, of Astoria NY, Pink Nori is awesome for vegan options during our times of lent. Pink Nori offers many sushi rolls with varieties and variations in the form of delicious veggies such as avocado, cucumber, asparagus, etc. They also make very tasty options for pescatarians and nonrestrictive dieters in search for delicious sushi and sashimi. Their service is very friendly and quick. Pickup is as fast as it gets, taking about ten minutes to be prepared on average.

Met a friend here for dinner tonight and it absolutely delicious! We ordered cocktails that were mixed well, delicious, and fairly priced. We then feasted on a bunch of special rolls, I can't recall the names but WOWOWOW I was pleasantly surprised. The inside of the restaurant was dimly lit and served well for a dinner with friends. Service was also awesome, can't remember the name of out waitress but she kept checking in to see if we needed anything. Big points for the gluten free menu! While I am not I do have friends that are, and it's awesome to have spots close by that everyone can enjoy.

Pink Nori is one of my to go to sushi spots when I'm in Astoria. The service is always great and the restaurant is always kept very clean. The have a very relaxing and enjoyable ambiance and the food is always delicious. Today I ordered The Yellow Tail Jalapeño which is Sliced Hamachi topped with a small sliced jalapeño and cilantro with ponzu sauce, the I ordered the Paradise Roll which was tuna, salmon, yellow tail and jalapeño topped with avocado, cherry tomato, caviar and mango sauce. The mango sauce definitely complimented the sushi with a delicious hint of sweetness. Overall a great experience. Finding parking in this area is a little bit of a hassle as it is on a very busy avenue. If you're lucky you can leave your car on the meter which is your best choice.

This is my go-to spot for sushi. The rolls are delicious and not over priced. Not cheap either. My favorites are the pink nori which is meant for salmon fans. Delicious! Rainbow roll usually has very fresh fish. I really enjoy my rainbow rolls. My fiancé always gets the spider roll and loves it.

They accept door dash orders and then just don't bother delivering them. Since they accept the orders door dash won't give refunds. Tried calling 4 times and no answer. On the 5th try had to deal with horrible rude service. Huge scam.

Great sushi spot, better for sit down than takeout! Food: I ordered out the lunch specials from pink nori and they were good for what you received. They have a 3 sushi with a miso soup special and a 2 sushi with a miso soup! My favorites were the m the Boston roll and the spicy Kani roll. Both with spicy Mayo and they were very good! I also liked the tuna and salmon rolls- very basic but good! The yellowtail was my least favorite, but still good m. Price: the lunch special was a good deal (pretty typical fo the area). You can get 3 rolls with a soup for $14 and 2 rolls with a soup for $11. Ambience: I like how the outdoor seating looks and the indoors seems to have a fun vibe

Saw the great reviews and stopped here for shrimp tempura. The shrimp was stale and not fresh. It was $10 so I just threw it out. I wouldn't stop by here if I hadn't eaten in 30 days and it was the only place in a 600 mile radius.

Just ordered from you from a delivery service. We wanted to try out your food for when we choose a restaurant for a catering service that we need. The food was absolutely delicious and there was a great deal of food in the lunch box! Also, I must eat gluten free and you actually have a gluten free menu that is more than just salad! I was able to eat tempura! So happy. We will definitely be using your services when we cater our project! Thanks!

We had food delivered. The sushi was delicious and very fresh. Soup salad and appetizers offered a nice variety. Would definitely order from here again. A little on the pricey side but you're paying for quality.

I think this location is a cute date spot with good service. The menu offers a wide variety of options and the food comes out quickly. But, I think delivery is a hit or miss. I ordered the Dragon Roll and Pink Nori Roll. The Dragon Roll was a big disappointment. There was plenty of avocado but barely any eel inside the special roll. For the price point, I felt I could have just ordered an eel cucumber or eel avocado roll and gotten the same thing. The Pink Nori Roll was good. I liked how they sear the salmon on the outside and finely chop the shrimp on the inside. The honey miso glaze was put in a separate container for delivery so I just used it as a dipping sauce. It is a bit on the sweeter side so a little bit goes a long way. Nonetheless, it was a very unique roll and I can see why people like it so much.

If you're looking for a consistent spot for good sushi rolls and are not looking to get too fancy, Pink Nori is a solid choice. Takeout times are reasonable and the food carries well. I've ordered the boat from there a few times and it is always fresh. Even though their sushi and sashimi is pretty good, I think they definitely rock their sushi roll game the hardest, with some interesting combinations. Fair cost-benefit for anyone looking for Japanese food in Astoria.

Stopped by to grab takeout for lunch. I was looking at their regular menu but then noticed they had lunch specials. I grabbed the 3 maki roll lunch special with miso soup for $14! The miso soup was a warm delight in this winter weather. I got the eel avocado, salmon, and yellowtail scallion. My favorite sushi has always been eel and the eel avocado did not disappoint. This was my first time trying yellowtail, and it was nice to try but I'm not a huge fan of it. I already know which ones I'd try next - they have a good variety you can select from. Would definitely come back again - great food and decently priced.

Today's days we want a sushi restaurant that goes beyond the typical California roll, and this restaurant fits the bill! I love their signature rolls. Absolutely delicious!

Still good after all these years! I was in the area today and remembered how good their sushi was so I had to stop by. I got the 30th Ave roll (with shrimp tempura and spicy crab) and Fusion Roll (with eel, avocado, tuna, masago) for takeout. Both rolls travelled well with me back home. They were super fresh and tasty, with the vinegared rice and everything perfectly seasoned. I had to stop eating for a minute and just savor everything. Ugh, I've missed this place too much.

We had the crispy wontons with cream cheese- broke up the sushi really well. The grilled salmon jalapeño roll was excellent. That spicy Mayo was delish. Spicy scallop was scrumptious. Yellowtail was fresh. The avocado eel tempura was yummy and his salmon philly roll was a change-up. Stuffed.

I came here today and the food was bomb. We got tocket shrimp which was perfectly done: sweet and salty with a crunchy bite. I loved it. The sashimi came with salmon, red and white tuna and something else I forgot but was so fresh and tasty. I was so impressed. I chose to have the lunch box shrimp and vegetable tempura. It came with miso soup, salad, shrimp shumai and a California roll. My friend ordered the beef teriyaki. To me it was okay. All in all it was delicious. So theres this sushi place in my girlfriend's hometown in Pennsylvania. They made these things called crazy rolls which were tempura shrimp and crunchy crab meat. We love it so much and miss it dearly. Fortunately we found a place that makes exactly what we miss. Man did that bring memories from back home. Not quite perfectly like it but fantastic in its own way. And quite affordable too so I don't have to break the bank. The 30th ave rolls were the way to go. Hype as hell

There are so many sushi spots in Astoria, but I have to say Pink Nori is #1!!! The staff is very friendly, the place itself is CLEAN, the fish is ALWAYS fresh & delicious! The special rolls always hit the SPOT - I also must say the dessert is incredibly tasty! It's rare to find lychee as an option on a dessert menu at other spots, but they have it!! I don't know about anyone else but sometimes I order a lychee martini just for the lychee well no worries - you'll get a whole cup full! Definitely recommend trying this place out - won't regret it!

Great sushi place. They have all the standard sushi's and a dozen original rolls. Very good. Also a nice collection of sake, I recommend the unfiltered ones for a change of pace. Service is attentive and the atmosphere pleasant Great spot!

We stumbled upon this sushi place by accident on a Friday night. It surprisingly wasn't too busy when we went in. From the outside, it's a small store on a busy street in Astoria but the inside really comes to life. The waiters and waitresses were very sweet and service was good. They constantly came around to make sure everyone was attended to. The Dragon Roll I got was pretty good but not up to the price point. The prices for the special rolls are comparable to city prices and honestly typical of Astoria/Long Island City prices nowadays. I will say that each of these rolls are some of the better rolls I've had for the similar price point. If we had to recommend one roll to get, it would be the Pink Nori Roll. We really enjoyed the Pink Nori Roll which had a sweeter twinge to it. As people who are not huge sashimi lovers but wanted to try a roll that had some semblance of raw fish, the seared salmon was very nicely done. Overall, if you are looking to satisfy your sushi cravings with some good, fresh quality sushi, this is the place for you! Food: 4/5 Ambience: 4/5 Price: 3.5/5

The food... on point! The service ... very good ! The ambience... very relaxing to spend hours there... I love this place

First time visiting and we left with disappointments. We ordered scallion pancakes, Connie salad, pink nori, godzilla, and ocean kiss. #1 The scallion pancakes tasted average but the sauce elevated it to make it good. The sauce is the star of this dish but unfortunately they gave so little of it. The plating is awful. Who plates like this (see pic). #2 Kani salad was a huge disappointment as its portion size was miniature with very little Kani and mostly cucumber. For the price of $7 is a total rip-off. The plate also filled with fingerprints which was gross. #3 pink nori specialty roll was okay; lacks flavors and the freshness isn't all there. There is almost no sauce to dip with so it is dry. Not very mouthful. Portion is small. #4 Godzilla roll was a joke of the portion category. Lacks flavors. #5 ocean kiss was the only decent one; it lacks the freshness in the raw fish but at least its sauce helped enhancing its flavors a lot. Otherwise, servers are okay. All in all, I would not revisit or recommend to others. There are many places better under the same cost while providing better portion, mouthfeel, freshness, flavors, and plating.

Food: 3/5 Ordered sushi and sashimi for 2. Not the best but not the worst. Moderately fresh but nothing special. The dragon roll was subpar, lacked taste and it fell apart so quickly. Difficult to eat. What a bummer. It's your typical neighborhood take out sushi place. 18 pieces of sashimi, 10 pieces of sushi, two rolls and two soups. Delivery was approx $65. Delivery: 5/5 Came within the advertised time. The delivery guy was very nice and sweet.

The food is amazing !!!! The service is spectacular Even to go!! I get a couple of delivery's from them and I live it !!! Everything is so flavored, good amounts and tasty. The prices are really good!!! And the sushi is Amazing !!! You definitely should go more than once.

Did take out on sushi today and wanted to find a popular spot and seemed like the Yelp community highly likes this place so tried it out! I like their shrimp mango roll (not many places do this combo so I'm glad they do), eel and avocado (always a go to for me at any sushi place), and the California roll which has two crabmeat in the roll which is great!! I would love to go back and eat there in person.

My favorite sushi spot in Astoria! I order from here A LOT. The Pink Nori roll is out of this world! Absolutely get it. The four spicy seasons appetizer is very good. The lemon is an interesting garnish.
