SO I'm not a huge ice cream nor froyo person, but sometimes it's nice to go grab a scoop or a swirl with the main squeeze who, dare I say, has a froyo addiction, and the only cure is more froyo.
Now to set the scene. It's around 10:30pm and whilst the place we wanted to grab a bite is only serving a late night menu and we're not really hungry hungry, we settle on hitting up Pinkberry next to Felipe's on Carrollton.
It's nice and bright with pebble flooring and light colors. The menu has a clean font, and there are calorie counts next to everything if you want to tally up at 10:30pm. I usually order a small but selfishly I wanted more toppings to surround my mountain of original flavor. I love that the fresh fruit is nice and cut up all bite size, and then you go to the toppings...it's really hard to make just a few choices. I went with my staple the coconut, crushed hazelnut wafer rolls, and the luxe topping milk chocolate crunch. So damn good. Of the fruits, I chose strawberry.
The staff was very nice, and asked us if we had a Pinkberry Pinkcard, of which after 10 purchases you get a freebie as well as on your birthday. Of course, Robert had this and swiped away!
Coming from someone who is NOT a froyo connoisseur, the original Pinkberry flavor is very yogurty, sour-cream esque to me. The sweet strawberries offset the light sour-sweet of the froyo. I like a lot of textures and chocolate, and the flavors I went with met that demand. I think the medium was overreaching my abilities on the froyo serving, but at least I tried.
Alas I'm sure my froyo adventures at Pinkberry will not end with this late night. I'll be back for the Chocolate Hazelnut. Till next time!
