"Conveniently located halfway down the Peninsula, Hillsdale mall has a lot going for it. And while San Franciscans might head straight to the second location of their favorite Palette Tea House, and the San Carlos crowd will stick with the new spot for their favorite pastrami at the Refuge, the real wild card here is Pinstripes, the restaurant-slash-bowling-alley experience, where tired parents can snack on woodfired pizza with a glass of wine — and turn kids loose on the lanes." - Lauren Saria, Becky Duffett

Nicely decorated and very conveniently located in Hillsdale mall. I loved that despite the overflowing crowd, their service was so prompt and perfect. The turnover is fast and so even though we showed up on a busy Sunday evening, we got seating after a very short wait. They have a nice selection of wines for all palates. My husband ordered Pinot Noir while I ordered a mildly sweet & bubbly Riesling and we loved ours. The Cast Iron Pesto Focaccia turned out to be an excellent started. For mains we had the Spicy Crispy Chicken sandwich and the Lobster Mac & Cheese. The latter was on a deal and so we got a huge plate at half the price ! My children also ate the kids cheese pizza and loved every bit of it. Overall great experience and we will certainly return for more ! ADD ON: we returned for more and the weekend brunch buffet this time and it sure was good ! It had myriads of brunch hot and cold items, a great spread of desserts and bottomless mimosas. Loved it !

Don't order the lobster pizza or the Italian jambalaya but do order the short ribs. I like the restaurant it has a nice modern vibe and food is decent except some of their food name is very misleading. The lobster pizza has absolutely no lobster meat I can find unless you count the miniscule possibly micro pieces of claw meat? It's mostly shrimp pizza and I don't think it tastes good even though I'm a big lobster and shrimp fan. The jambalaya is a mess and the big fish pieces are dry and tasteless. There is no jambalaya taste in it at all. Name it something else. I can stand them calling such tasteless concoction jambalaya because it's one of my favorite food. The short ribs is actually amazing. Very moist and delicious and I highly recommend that you order the full rack because it will go fast. The kids meals are a great deal at $12. I also think service is very good because our waitress was very attentive.

We got Ahi Tuna Pole Bowl and Ultimate grilled cheese from the lunch combo. It did not disappoint. Also got the Caramelized cheese cake for dessert. I say price is not bad

Excellent place for a party! We booked a small party here that included some bowling and a private room for dinner/dancing. The staff here were fantastic. It's clear that these folks really want to do a great job and they did. All of my guests were thrilled with the experience and service. The food was really good as was the bar service and appetizer service. Pricing was reasonable and parking was easy. Definitely recommend it and a big thank you to Mariela, Brian and the rest of the team.

Food was delicious, price was reasonable (wines were half off!), an amazing free dessert for my dad’s birthday, great atmosphere, and impeccable service from our amazing waitress. Highly recommend and will come back again

We made the reservation online to play bowling on my kid’s birthday. Suggest to come with more than 4 people or you might need to share the table with other strangers. The food is better than expected and they provide water if you don’t feel like drinking. We reserved for two hours, but our bowling lane was down for at least 15 minutes(not sure if anyone was monitoring the lanes, but we need to told the waiter and the waiter had to call someone to fix it. But they didn’t give us extra time to play… The overall experience is not too bad, just feel they could have some improvement. Ps. In the reservation form, we let them know it’s our boy’s birthday, but nothing happened…

Came here on a Saturday afternoon for a girls' day. My friend put our names on a list earlier that day, and I was waiting for them to reply when an available spot would be open, but since it was getting late, we decided to just do a walk-in. Upon arrival, we found out the entire place was booked! I wish there was a way for us to be informed earlier. I've shopped at this mall before, and I've seen Pinstripes from the outside, but was never sure of what it actually was on the inside. I was surprised to know there was bocce ball and bowling! Well, the name makes sense, but when you walk in, if feels like a bit more upscale Yard House restaurant than a play area. I didn't even get to see the bowling alleys because they were upstairs and hidden away. When I walked up to use the restroom, it was full of graduation parties and other celebrations. Everyone dressed really nice. We decided to just eat dinner here. The service was great. I liked that they asked us if we wanted the food to come out all at once or one by one with the appetizers first. We wanted it to come all at once, and we shared it family style between 4 people. We got the... Chicken and goat cheese pasta: This was delicious but there were like 3 tiny pieces of chicken. Sad. Wish we had more bang for our buck here. Margherita pizza: Tasted good although salty. I wondered if it was the cheese. When my cheese fell off, I tried it alone. Turns out, the tomato sauce on this was overly salted. I dipped the crust in the ranch that came with our apps. Calamari: Nice breading, crispy, and had a decent portion. I like when calamari is thin and breaded. Truffle fries: Crispy and tasty when it was fresh. I liked that it wasn't too greasy nor doused in truffle oil. For the drinks, we got the puccinis and the Tuscan sangrias. They weren't particularly strong but they were refreshing! The servers gave great recommendations. I'd love to come back for mimosas and/or happy hour. My friend saw chocolate fountain inside and got excited, but I think that's only for brunch.

Yelp
Finally checked out Pinstripes for my birthday hang out with friends back in August! It was a cloudy, but warm day. I got good parking at the garage right behind the place. They accept bowling reservations online. Reserve early for weekends; they fill up quickly. This place is pretty impressive: two floors of activity with the ground floor catering to all your gastronomic needs i.e. fancy looking full service dine-in restaurant and bar plus a weekend brunch buffet! I checked in at the host desk right up front and paid for 1 bowling hour, party of 9. They led us up the stairs to the second floor where we spotted staff setting up long private dining tables and the bocce ball lanes. The bowling area was in the back with its own set of doors. I felt like VIP! No longer do we have to ask for shoe sizes from an employees-- it's self serve right near the door. Efficient and organized. Since we had a larger party, they gave us 2 lanes right next to each other and we commandeered the whole comfy sofa situation. A friendly waitress came by with menus and explained we could order as much food and beverages desired before bringing a water carafe & glasses all around. We had dinner scheduled for right after but my friends deserved some sustenance. Eats: *Sweet Chili Glaze Chicken Wings *Margherita Flatbread *Truffle Fries *Crispy Calamari Drinks: *Blueberry Mule Bowling & dining was soo much fun! I regret only spending about an hour here but it does get more expensive on weekends after 3pm, about $30pp/hour. Staff was so sweet and brought me a loaded sundae with huge scoops of vanilla ice cream, chocolate brownie, crunchy pretzels, and real cherry topped with a candle! Also included was hot fudge, which I poured on. Overall, an excellent experience! I would definitely bring family and friends here for a fun time.

Yelp
This is specifically for the bistro & during the Santa buffet brunch! I think the pricing reflected the options for the buffet brunch well EVEN THOUGH, the website stated it was $45 per person and we were charged $48 each instead and we didn't even get any alcoholic beverages or add ons. When I brought it to the servers attention, it seemed like he just made up assumptions but I didn't have the energy to argue over $18. We originally had plans to take pictures with Santa in San Ramon for hella more $ and a smaller menu so I'm glad we ended up here somewhat last minute. However, my biggest issue was getting ahold of the staff for the bistro prior to our reservation. My sister and I made two separate reservations and I wanted to confirm they could seat us together because we were a bigger group of 10. Luckily, they were able to put us together on the day of so I got no complaints since it worked out. The place itself was nice and clean so it felt inviting. As soon as we walked in Santa was seated right at the front for the kids to see. I don't think they were ready for us though because they were literally adding more decorations and props as we were trying to take pictures with him lol. Either way, hella options for breakfast and lunch. I'm always down for an omelette station & the waffles were surprisingly fluffy & the best I've had so far. I think they could improve on the service end of things. For example, I asked for a kids cup or lid with a straw so my daughter wouldn't break the glass and then they would tell me they would have to find out if it was available, or I'd ask other things that they would say wait for the waiter and it'd take awhile for him to pop back at our table. Regardless, we'll probably be back especially for special events like this. I'm also interested in booking parties here in the future.

Yelp
Came here for Sunday brunch buffet, and as much as I hate buffets and eating anything cooked in mass quantities, I was pleasantly STUNNED and gotta give these guys mad props because all the food I had here was delicious! Mind blown! Mouth happy! Stomach stuffed! Upon arrival, I had a feeling this was gonna be good because the place was packed at 11am! When I started to grub down, I found out this wasn't just gonna be good, it was gonna be great! They have so many options. You can check out my pics to see what I had, but everything was amazing. What stood out to me the most were the fresh fruits, fluffy waffles, bacon, sausages, prime rib and horseradish, smoked salmon, crispy breakfast potatoes, and thin crust pizzas with the gooey cheese pulls! And the service was excellent! Our server was very friendly and attentive and came back to check on us a lot! Looking forward to doing this again soon!

Yelp
We had a 12:00 reservation on a Thursday to celebrate my daughter's birthday. We were seated right away. We also reserved an hour of bocce ball to make it a fun luncheon. Bocce ball is $40/hr. (Bowling is $80/hr.) You pay for the bocce or bowling ahead of time before you are seated. The price of bocce and bowling varies on time and day you play. We sat next to the bocce court so you can play and eat at the same time. It was fun playing indoor bocce for the first time. Didn't realize how heavy the balls are. Good thing about bocce ball is it's fun for all ages....even our 5 year old granddaughter. It's not crowded on a weekday which is nice. The table was also near the restroom which is very convenient (especially if you have little ones). Food: We ordered chicken noodle soup, flatbread with lobster, bistro burger. Hubby said the soup was slightly too salty for his taste. The flatbread with lobster was good but I think it was pretty small. Bistro burger was hearty. Most lunch items start at $14 with the signature sandwiches starting at $20. They do have week day specials on specific items. ie. Thursdays are half price hand crafted drinks. The kids menu was $12 - which included parmesan bread, a drink (apple juice, orange juice) choice of entre such as mac and cheese, cheese pizza, and dessert. Our granddaughters selected cheese pizza and mac and cheese and a sundae for dessert. They finished their dessert but not their entre (of course.) The kids menu was on a piece of paper with menu on one size and puzzles for the kids and 2 crayons. That is a fun for the kids Our birthday daughter received a celebration dessert but we were charged $12 for the sundae with pretzels. (No freebies for the birthday girl which was a little disappointing. ) Service was good. 20% gratuity automatically added for large party (we had 6 people). Overall it was fun playing and eating. (I deducted one star - 1/2 for small portion of the flatbread with lobster and 1/2 for no complimentary dessert for the birthday girl.)

Yelp
Service: We made a reservation for their special Santa Brunch! Parking was right next door and took a little bit of time to find. Alfredo was our server Food: lots of options from your omelettes to fancy meats. We came around 1:30pm on a Saturday and it was poppin but not too crazy. The service was nice and we had a reservation, lots of parking but had to get there early to find a good spot! Very strong holiday vibes :)

Yelp
We frequent Pinstripes for the neighborhood ease of walking and great ambiance. The courtyard is full of decorative seasonal lights and just really gets the spirit. Last night for a quick nibble we sat at the bar with our Old Fashion and super tender beef sliders in a slightly sweet dipping sauce. Three to a plate with shoe string potatoes. Since they took off the fig ham flatbread (I'm still grieving) we tried the lobster. It was so delicious from the oven with a hit of chili flecks that were a bit too hot. Once the cheese cooled off it really affected the flavor and became less appetizing. The service was timely and quick but as frequently we dine there they served seemed overwhelmed and they are backing up as you place your order to get to the next. We felt as if we just had this one chance to get it all out knowing we wouldn't see her again. Busy time of year yes but this is year around. The bar has a hard time serving the whole restaurant demands for its size and number of people it can accommodate. They had the front door open again (48 deg last night) and the cold wind blew on us the whole evening. Chilly indeed. Overall was a good experience as the good food and cocktails keep us going back. On other occasions we have had the chopped salad and that is full of favorites all on one plate.

Yelp
Place is nice, I only had drinks. $17 each and minimal liquor. Ambiance was nice there. Maybe come back for happy hour and bowling.

Yelp
restaurant, private event rooms, bowling and bocce ball all in one place...arriving for a private event...entrance the lower level...pass the restaurant and up the stairs to a private room...round tables, screens and buffet table setup...large private room for parties...buffet had a large variety of options, but average...all the chicken skewers and beef were quite dry/hard...pizza and other items were better...finished with eating and on to bowling...pass the bocce ball area and up to bowling...bowling area is nice...pick up shoes and head to the lanes...all the screens are animated with option to take pictures of each player before starting...it's nice, but little cumbersome to figure out in the beginning...it's a fun space for a big event...

Michelle P.

Yelp
Brunch buffet... variety is great, their food set up is spread out, so make sure that you do the once go around before you start filling your plate. The staff is very attentive with refilling drinks and clearing plates. The wait can be long, so make sure you make reservations ahead of time. Parking can be challenging in the garage. The ambiance is very casual. Lots to see in the area while you enjoy your food.

Yelp
12/9/23 Zach and I had dinner here with another couple for dinner back in December 2023. My friend made a reservation for 4 outdoor seating since we were bringing our dogs to dinner as well. It was pretty chilly sitting outside; heat lamps are placed outside by the tables. I don't remember what our friends got for their entrees, but here's what I did document: - Calamari (for the table) - Spicy crispy chicken sandwich (mine) - Baked lasagna (his) I'd say that the food was pretty average compared to the service which was actually way better. The chicken was a bit dry and Zach said that the lasagna tasted basic and somewhat bland. The calamari was okay too and was more breading than octopus. Our waiter checked on us every so often and made sure we weren't getting too cold. Even the manager of Pinstripes came by to say hello which we don't see often when we go out. My friend had mentioned that it was my birthday coming up so they gave me a Pinstripes hat and medal. I could do without the medal (I think that is better suited for kids), but I definitely will utilize the hat.

DANIEL W.

Yelp
Well we are glad pinstripes is still our go to spot on Friday nights happy hour. Frank, Gab, Giovoni always make it a point to say hello and serve us the specials are still good drinks also can't wait to see what else happens this year,

Xing Hui L.

Yelp
I recently dined at Pinstripes in San Mateo with my team after our offsite activity, and it turned out to be an excellent last-minute choice. We were a group of about 18, and the staff was incredibly accommodating, quickly seating us and ensuring we had everything we needed. I ordered the blackened ahi tuna, served rare, which had a wonderfully tender and buttery texture that melted in my mouth. The dish was perfectly complemented by creamy risotto and a touch of spice. To wash it down, I enjoyed the Basil Black Cherry Fizz mocktail, which was refreshing and added a nice twist to the evening. While it was a Tuesday evening and the venue felt a bit quiet, the ambiance was still lively and social thanks to the energy of my team, making it a great setting for conversation and connection. Overall, our experience at Pinstripes was delightful, and I'd highly recommend it for group gatherings or a casual dinner out!

Brandi P.

Yelp
Service was absolutely horrible from start to finish. Not the service that we would expect from these prices...it was a if we were an inconvenience to the staff and that was a huge let down. Even with a reservation we were left off of the birthday and events board when we walked in. We weren't walked to our lane so when we got upstairs it was mass confusion and we were asked why we walked up or what we were doing here...even with a receipt in hand. We were taken to a dirty lane and had to wait for them to clean it up (well into our paid reservation time) No explanations of anything even though we said it was our first time. No waitstaff to take drink orders so we had to go find them. $120 per hour for a lane of bowling...of course you are going to be happy and cheer on your friends as they bowl and have a good time, the staff came over a few times to tell us we were loud...umm what? Not the service that I would expect to have on my birthday outting...none the less we had fun but this experience was a huge let down.

Renee F.

Yelp
I've visited Pinstripes several times but this was my first time to their Brunch Buffet. For $34.99 you can have made-to-order omelet bar with lots of meat and veggie and cheese choices, prime rib and ham freshly carved, hot foods like bacon, sausage, scrambled eggs, balsamic brussel sprouts, Parmesan risotto, oven-roasted potatoes and Neapolitan style pizza. For pickier little ones, chicken fingers, Mac and cheese, fruit and yogurt parfaits. There's also a mini waffle station with great toppings like lemon ricotta, whipped cream, Nutella, chocolate or caramel sauce, and warm maple syrup. Or if you prefer toasted bagel with salmon and all the fixings. Shrimp cocktail, several types of salads. And biscuits and gravy. And to finish it all off a chocolate fountain with lots of goodies to dip. There is something for everyone. We also added mimosas which come in orange, grapefruit, cranberry & pineapple . The food was delicious and our service was good. I look forward to going back again with friends.

Yelp
I have been here multiple times for bowling with my family and company events on a larger scale. This location is great and can accommodate small or large groups. If you are going there for bowling, I would highly recommending making a reservation online for your lane. Checking in was fast, the cost of shoes is included in your rental and you can order food and drinks from their menu to come directly to your lane. We bowled for 2 hours and had a great time. Their bowling system is easy to work and they have a cute little feature of using the picture you took for your profile to be used in the animations as you bowl a strike, spare, or miss. The interactive part was entertaining for my son. For dinner alone, their menu is pretty big and they have an option for almost everyone on their menu. The staff has always been friendly and now my kid has come to love coming here because of the fun he has. Would definitely recommend for a group outing for both kids and adults. Will definitely come back and maybe try their morning brunch as we have heard good things about that as well.

I also think service is very good because our waitress was very attentive.

Yelp
Sadly giving this 2 stars. My mom had been raving about this spot so we decided to come here to celebrate a birthday! The service was SO slow and although our waiter kept apologizing he didn't get any better. After our meal, my mom and I had the worst stomach aches. We had shared all of the dishes we ordered together so it must have been something we ate. After dinner we headed up to bowl and that was a fun experience! They gave us cute socks that had Pinstripes written on them and the staff were much more attentive.

Haiyang H.

Yelp
Came back here with kiddos for dinner before movie. It is much a better choice than food at Cinépolis. Kids enjoyed the fries, pizza and Mac and cheese. I had salmon. Good texture and flavor. I had some wine which was decent. Food was served pretty fast. Service has been consistently friendly and fast. Restroom is located on the upper level. Good place to revisit

Yelp
Pinstripes is one of the cleanest bowling alley that I went to in a long time. They have two bars (upstairs/downstairs), table dining downstairs, and restaurant quality foods. It's located at Hillsdale mall so parking can be easily accessible. It tends to be crowded on the weekends, so be ready to wait before the food gets to your table. The two times I went to Pinstripes was for bowling and dining. For bowling, the bowling area is so spacious and clean. We were able to play while the server went back and forth with our food and drinks. We ordered: calamari, pigs in a basket, cocktails and wines and they were way above average compared to other bowling places. For dining, I ordered wings 9/10, jambalaya 10/10, truffle fries 10/10, and a mango cocktail 10/10. The only reason I gave Pinstripes 4/5 stars is because on both occasions I went there they forgot to give me one of my orders. They tend to get busy, so I understand mishaps can happen. But expect to wait 30+min on a busy day to get your food. I still recommend checking this place out since it's one of the better bowling places in the area.

Yelp
This review is for lunch in early Aug 2024 and dinner in late Sept 2024. The food was great on the first visit but I had an issue that I brought to the attention of management. So I gave the place another try, which is why this review is for two separate visits. Menu is broken up into sections (salads/soups/sandwiches/flatbread for which you can do combo), along with pastas, chefs specials, etc. (Weekend is an all you can eat brunch.) Food is great. Ten stars out of five stars for the super salad, which I ordered on both of my visits. The candied pecans, blue berries, raspberries, humboldt fog goat cheese, grains, figs, veggie chips, avocado, grains on spinach with honey red wine vinegarette was amazing---and I did not even add a protein on purpose (despite being a big meat eater). I would love to replicate this at home. Even my parents loved this salad, and they are picky eaters. We also shared the full rack of baby back ribs--which were nice and meaty, tender, full of flavor, and finger lickin' good. They came with BBQ sauce on (which I liked), and cut up in three portions of about 3 ribs in stack. It came with parmesean fries and a few slices of pickles. We also received a bowl for the rib bones, along with an extra napkin and lemon wedge for our fingers. We had the ribeye, which was tender too (but the baby back ribs were better). The three cheese polenta tasted like mashed potatoes with some corn (was okay) but needed something else, and I liked the crispy crust. The stalks on the asparagus were too thin so the ends were stringy to eat. The restaurant is beautiful and two stories. Upstairs -- lots of stairs -- has more dining area and a larger bathroom whereas the downstairs only had one bathroom (one person/one room). It has a bocci ball area next to the restroom which is across from the open kitchen area where you can see a pizza oven and lots of staff working behind the counters. A bar is located near the front of the restaurant which has lots of seating. You can sit outside on the patio area which has a larger play area for kids and is nice to hang out. Located in the Hillsdale mall, the place is on the corner very visible. We had great service tonight. Our server checked on us regularly, brought us another bottle of water when we were low, and let us know that anyone in purple shirt could help out if they were busy. I would recommend for food, atmosphere, and service. I would visit here again next time I am in town.

Jeannie W.

Yelp
We were there for happy hours. Not too many selections for the food in happy hours. We ordered the chicken wings and tenderloin sliders. Chicken wings were very good with a little kick. Tenderloin sliders were tasty. It's a very comfortable place to relax and enjoy your drinks and food. Definitely will come back to try regular menu items.

Diana M.

Yelp
I've come here a few times with coworkers for holiday parties and after work drinks, as well as with friends in the local area. I'm not from SM so I feel like this is a local favorite with all the hype in the world, and I'm not here for it. I absolutely would not recommend this place at all. The cost of food is high, the service is lacking at most, and the food is never . It's always a miss for me, especially with cost and service on top of that. It is quite crowded and always busy though. It's beautiful inside with a neat bowling alley and more knick knacks upstairs but I would skip this place all together unless you need to attend an office party.

Sherry B.

Yelp
Alfredo was our wonderful waiter today! So friendly and efficient. We sat outside on this sunny but cool day and had a delicious lunch!

Natalia B.

Yelp
Had a holiday party here. Place is big and decorated so beautifully for the holiday season. There are two levels. The lower level seems to be for dining only. Upstairs they have bocci ball and bowling. There is also a bar and a large room meant to host large parties. The food was okay. Nothing too exciting except for the chicken wings. The chicken wings had a delicious honey bbq glaze. There was also Mac and cheese, salad, sliders, and tiny fried cheese balls. It was served buffet style so the food got a little cold and tasted kinda bland. The service was quick and friendly. It was a nice spot for a holiday party.

Connie N.

Yelp
We came around 7:30pm on a Tuesday and it was empty, understandably since it closes at 9pm on a random weekday lol. The restaurant itself is nice, especially around the evening with the open windows and dimmed lights. I ordered the Lobster Mac and Cheese, Truffle Fries, and a mango juice. The Mac and Cheese wasn't bad. I liked how we were given bread to dip and eat with the meal. I'll admit, it was dry at the top and the sauce was sitting at the bottom, but after mixing everything together, everything was incorporated better. Fries were good though! To be fair, there are a lot more options to choose from, so I would not mind trying different items of the menu our next visit.

Jennifer H.

Yelp
Came with a large group of coworkers and they seem to handle larger groups well. Service and drinks were great! Had the honey glazed salmon and the berry blossom mocktail which was tasty. Several coworkers had the ribeye with three cheese polenta and asparagus. The ribeye was a hit. Dessert was delicious, a brownie with vanilla gelato.

Ricca Cathrina E.

Yelp
Went there for a quick birthday celebration. Thumbs down-- no acknowledgment of some sort for the birthday. Reservation ticket shows bday info. We ordered burgers which were awesome, Mac and cheese which was good and calamari which was okay. They forgot our calamari but the orders arrived fast despite of. Place was really nice. Ambiance was great. Greeters and servers were nice . There were big parties and we waited a long time to get our bill. Quite frankly it seemed they forgot about us.

Yelp

Yelp
Went in for Father's Day brunch and it did not disappoint! We had reservations so we were seated quick. They have 2 areas, upstairs and downstairs. Both areas carry the same options. Once we got settled, I helped the kids make their selections and grab their food. A little overwhelming for them and the hot food was a bit hard for them to open and grab food but they enjoyed it. Their favorite part of course was the chocolate fountain. I think they made 2-3 trips dipping whatever they could. They had a good time. I had a little bit of everything that I could. I didn't want to potentially waste food so I avoided food that I would normally eat. I went for the prime rib, cut in front of you, and it was delicious. I also had an egg white omelet made just for me - not the best but it wasn't bad. The risotto was sticky and very thick, I'd probably skip that next time. The parfait was delicious - it was the granola and honey for me. I will definitely have to plan better if we decide to go back. There was so many options and I wasn't prepared for it. But it definitely will be in our options for future special occasions.

Yelp
Excellent breakfast brunch buffet! This buffet had so many amazing options for brunch: omelette bar, prime rib and ham station, bacon, eggs, pasta, chicken, bagel and lox spread, prawn cocktail station, pizza, salads, multiple desserts and chocolate fountain, parfaits, fruits, breakfast pastry station, and waffle bar among much more! Well worth the price and the service was amazing. Unlimited coffee too for the brunch. Family friendly and I believe kids under a certain age eat free too for the brunch. Weekend Brunch Buffet available Saturdays and Sundays. Best brunch buffet in the Bay Area!

Yelp
They have many events as an event venue going on here plus a full bar and restaurant running. It's a happening place. Went here for bowling private birthday event upstairs. They have their process together and organized. Bowling buffet style food was pretty solid. I adore their soft baked cookies! Unlimited on beverages. It's a convenient and spacious spot for gathering and celebrating different occasions. They have their ducks in a row. Family fun day!

Yelp
Not a great experience on a Saturday night. Came here to celebrate my grandson's 4th birthday. Had a reservation at 630PM for a party of 13. We arrived on time and still had to wait 15 minutes to get seated. When we were shown to our table it was 3 tables together, and a gap between the other 3 tables. I don't know why all 6 tables couldn't be together. At this time the sun was setting but through out our dining experience the lighting was so dim I could hardly see my food. The service: I fully expect this place to be busy since it was a Saturday night and our server started out great, greeting us and taking our drink orders. When so many of us ordered Shirley Temples he brought out two pitchers of them. One for each 3 table. From there it was downhill. The waiter seemed to spend more time with another large table sitting behind us. Checked on us once. Before our food arrived we had to ask for utensils, this should have already been provided when we first sat down. I had the Lobster Bisque which was delicious. I also had the lasagna. Plain simple, something I could make at home. I wouldn't order this dish again. They did however bring out two desserts for the birthday boy who had a great time. This wasn't my first time here and it won't be my last, since I know lots of friends and family members love to come here. But next time I expect better.

Yelp
My first visit since 2019. I came for Sunday brunch with my family. **Brunch reservations are separated into 2 classes for lack of a better word. I made a reservation on OpenTable and was surprised to find out that my party would be seated outside of the main dining area, in the corner behind the bar. If you wish to dine in the main area, you need to make your reservation directly with Pinstripes. Ultimately my experience wasn't affected and we received great service. Just a note in case you have a seating preference. One of the highlights was the Brussels sprouts which I remember being tasty from the last visit. If you want to make use of the chocolate fountain, I'd suggest hitting it early before the inevitable crowd of kids descends. Overall a very solid buffet. A warning to any diners with sensitive stomachs to choose carefully or you may suffer later in the day ().

Yelp
It's difficult to rate this place because it's both a bowling alley as well as a restaurant (located on the first level). Pros: Easy to find, cool, classy atmosphere, and I liked the dinner options. There were plenty of meat and vegetarian dishes depending on one's preference and my French dip was tasty. If you come in a large group, you can make a reservation and the tables are large. Cons: Bowling here was super expensive. I think we paid $60 per person for two hours (including shoe rental) and I didn't think there were any special amenities that warranted the price. The lanes were also very crowded and lots of noise and commotion everywhere (like any bowling alley I suppose), so I'm not sure I could differentiate this fancier location from a plain ol' bowling alley. I would come for the food if you want American-style dining in a large group but skip the bowling. Located near Hillsdale Mall so parking is always a hassle and there are tons of people everywhere, especially on a weekend.

Yelp
Love the outdoor and window seating area. There's a lot of space inside and the lighting is beautiful. The service was attentive and they offered us both the lunch and dinner menu since we were there around 2pm. The food was okay, nothing too special but perfect for a simple lunch.

Yelp
We decided to go to Pinstripes for New Year's Eve dinner since we wanted to chill after a work day. I made a reservation online with no problem and got there a little early and was seated right away. Wow, I'm giving this place 1 star as we were so disappointed with the service!#!*!! We usually opt for fast casual or go to Burlingame for special occasion because going out to a sit down can be disappointing and for sure it was tonight. For us service is 85% of the experience. We have come to Pinstripes on many occasions and also paused coming to this place because of the service or food being subpar. We ordered chicken wings (12ct), 2 filet mignon entrees, a bistro burger and drinks. The chicken wings came out in decent time and so did the 2 orders of filet mignon. And that's when it went downhill. I ate slow as my husband waited for his burger, the waiter came by from behind us and said in passing that he was gonna check on our burger. He never came back to our table, and then after another 15 minutes we finally got one of the servers attention to check on our burger and he went to a manager (at least I think she was one of the managers as she was not in uniform). You know there was a male manager who came by before all the chaos and checked on how we were doing but never came back around or else I would have given him feedback. So when the female manager came around my husband just asked her to remove the burger from the bill and she acknowledged the request. Mind you tables around us were getting their burgers, hmm. Long story short, our order got messed up and no one apologized for the mistake. We didn't want to wait any longer since we were going somewhere. They tried to offer to pack up the burger to go, really at that point...appetite lost. They did comp our meal after my husband re-emphasized to get the check and the female manager said they were not charging us. That's fine but it's left a bad taste in our mouth. Thanks for trying but we won't be back anytime soon which is too bad because we like supporting places in our neighborhood.

Yelp
Sunday brunch food was good and the Santa was very charismatic with great stories for the kids. Waitstaff was noticeably absent much of the time and when present they took a while to provide the things we requested. Our table was set without utensils and we had to wait a while after requesting from our server. Empty plates took a while for them to take away. New plates at buffet tables weren't refilled in a timely manner, few occasions of no plates available when attempting to get more food. For a mandatory 20% gratuity, I expected more attentiveness.

Yelp
I love their happy hour! I was in the restaurant around 5:40PM and I was able to get a table right away. My friend and I preferred to be seated outside, it was perfect! I started off with their Paloma . Then had lobster Mac and cheese - the best! Shout out to Maya! She's been very attentive. I love there's a mini park right outside where one can people and children watch while chitchatting. Definitely this place is kid friendly while parents can sit back and relax. They have a few heater outside that they turn on if it's chilly. Love it!

Yelp
I came back with a friend of mine for dinner and bowling. While the service was amazing and the bowling was fun, this time around the food was not that impressive compared to my first time here. I had the Puccini to drink, which was delicious. The crispy calamari was pretty standard and so was the chicken club sandwich, and that came with a side of parmesan fries. My friend ordered the lobster Mac and cheese and it was honestly not great. It was watery and didn't really have any flavor, which was disappointing because it was around $30. The last time I was here it was around lunch time and the person I was with ordered the bone in pork chop. I didn't see that on the menu this time around so I'm assuming that was a lunch option and not dinner. I think maybe it should be available for both lunch and dinner since typically for a lot of people a pork chop would be a heavy protein dinner option as well. Especially since I believe it's served with mashed potatoes and veggies. I will say, the staff is amazing. Everyone is attentive and goes above and beyond. They check on you frequently--not just the servers but the managers as well. We dined at around 7 and our lane opened up at 8. We were able to bring our food with us upstairs to our bowling area. We all have off nights and the first time I ate here I really enjoyed myself so I would still recommend this to people. I would just stay away from ordering the lobster Mac and cheese. If you want to go bowling or play bocce, I would recommend making a reservation in advance. This is a great place for birthday parties or just a fun night out with friends. San Mateo has great weather and it's typically warm well into the evening--they offer outdoor patio seating and I saw many people sitting outside as well. They also have 2 bars, one upstairs and one downstairs.

Yelp
AYCE brunch for around $45 a person. Bottomless mimosas, spritz or sangria for $28, but you can only select one option. They have a lot of great juice options for the mimosas, and I personally enjoyed the grapefruit one over the pineapple or orange. Cute spot for parties, they have a reserved area upstairs you can book. They also have bowling so make sure to make a reservation beforehand cause it can get pretty busy. Their brunch options are pretty great: 1) Omelette station 2) Ham and prime rib station 3) Chocolate fountain with pretzels, strawberries and marshmallows 4) Waffle bar with ricotta cheese, nutella, strawberries, and whipped cream 5) Salad bar with cocktail shrimp, caprese salad, smoked salmon and pasta salads 6) Cioppino 7) Build your own burger or sandwich station 8) Fries and chicken tenders for the basics The options are endless! Service was great. Price was a little on the pricey side so if it was 39.99 or something it would be a little more worth it in my opinion. Our party didn't really end up eating a lot.

Yelp
We arrived for happy hour located in the bar area and stayed for dinner. I thought the food was ok nothing I'd have to come back for. Our server at dinner was very attentive compared to our server at the bar... The restaurant itself was decorated beautifully with all their Christmas decorations. If I'm in the area I'd just go for hh. *Imo food is comparable to a bjs.

Yelp
If I could rate less than one star, I would. Made the reservation for bowling 2 weeks back for 6 of us. Received several texts for me to confirm we were really coming. Well, we came. They told us there would be a slight delay of 7 minutes. I go up, there are 4 lanes with no one. Then we were told 20 minutes later the lane we were assigned was down and being worked on. The manager would know in 5 minutes if it would be available. I have a look. There are 4 lanes empty. I asked after them, "reserved for a party". 35 minutes later they take us upstairs and offered to comp the bowling - OK. There were 7 of us and the couch could barely fit 4. OK - what do we do now? Where are the shoes? How do we get started? Blank stare. Figured it out. First ball gets rolled, down comes the gate and the pins reset and reset and reset. Still broken. So after an hour and 15 minutes, we surrendered. Go back down to the front desk - professional apologists. They have no idea what they're doing in managing this place. Go to Round1, Paddock Lanes, Danville Lanes. They know how to operate. This place is clueless.

Yelp
Anytime I've came here (4 times total) I've stayed 30+ mins more than I should have due to the terrible service. I know it's busy a lot of the times but usually 2 people eating is faster than the table of 10+ and needs last attention. Sitting around for server for 10+ mins for server and than an extra 20+ after we are done eating is unacceptable Want to go more because it's more local but hard when I have to devote my day to eating here

Yelp
Came here early afternoon and it was bustling! the service was great and the food was pretty good as well. I got the brioche burger medium ($19) and the pattie came out really juicy. The parmesan fries were also good. I also liked the Puccini, it was sweet and fruity. Lots of holiday vibes and decor

Yelp
Started off rocky but the manger, Brittany made a e we were very taken care of. Great ambiance and the food was great too
