Stopped in here on early Sunday morning. Nice! Pleasant atmosphere with parents and their kids. Talking quietly. The baristas were both friendly and take pride into making a good cup of coffee. I will definitely come back

Google
Really nice coffee shop in LoHi by 38th St with TONS of seating and space. What makes Pinwheel stand out is that they have a ton of seating like I mentioned before but also that they partner with Embark Education across the street and help out with their cause. You'll see a bunch of children working on things at Pinwheel and cleaning up. It's honestly super cool and makes me want to support them more. In terms of offerings, they have the standard coffee drinks you expect at a coffeeshop, pastries, breakfast burritos from Bonfire Burritos, and also a seasonal drinks menu which are full of pumpkin spice drinks as of the time of writing this review. Internet speeds are also very fast so taking meetings here and getting work done should not be an issue at all. Google
Great atmosphere and the mission behind the coffee and bike shop are pretty amazing too. Staff was friendly and the coffee was not too sweet for a mocha that I drank. Definitely a must visit if you’re in the area and support a great cause.

Google
Pinwheel is a really cute coffee shop, I spent about five hours here. The coffee is decent. I tried the cold brew because the espresso machine was broken. Overall I would stop here again, but it’s not my top pick. The employees were super nice, and make the whole experience more enjoyable! The decor is also super cool, and I love the colors. The smell of fresh Chai tea hits your nostrils as you walk into the coffee shop. You find yourself surrounded with a calming sensation, almost as you’ve been hugged, and craving for something delicious. The Rocky Road Iced Latte with coconut milk was honestly the most delicious iced latte I’ve ever had.The foam that sits at the top as you take a sip explodes with flavors of marshmallows, chocolate and a hint of coffee. The Cinnamon Almond Latte with almond milk. As I sat outside the cafe, brisk weather around my dog and I, I felt comfortable and at peace. The gentle notes of cinnamon with each sip of coffee left me with a warm and peaceful feeling. The Chorizo burrito was average. Nothing too special but definitely filled me up and had a great taste (3.5/5 on the burrito). I didn’t come to Pinwheel Coffee for the food, so I won’t let that affect my overall rating. Most importantly, the staff are friendly and the coffee shop is clean!

I’ve been drinking various sorts of coffee in coffeehouses since 1982 or so. These folks are really trying (and succeeding). It shows when folks put in a little extra effort. If you’re driving by or in their hood, Pinwheel Coffee is worth your patronage. Small businesses rule!! EDIT, later: I've made maybe ten visits so far. I can't seem to find a single thing to complain about, or even call less than excellent, not even by looking. Smiles are genuine, not forced. Decor is awesome. Service is outstanding. Food is really tasty. If you read my other reviews, I don't often gush unconditionally. Here, I am gushing unconditionally cuz Pinwheel have earned it. Rest assured, if I ever find a fly in my soup, I'll post about it.

Google
Pinwheel gives the best neighborhood community vibes. I live nearby and this is one of my favorite spots ! Great coffee, awesome atmosphere and the bike shop next store is incredible as well. But $8 for a breakfast burrito that is reheated feels a bit pricey

Google
So cute! Sweet little place to enjoy with a friend or get some work done. They have a good variety of flavors, and the staff is very sweet. I think the ambience is the showstopper here, though, because it's so roomy, cute and uplifting!

Yelp
This place is great for working!! They're super spacious and have tons of tables. They have some outlets on the wall, but probably not enough for the tables that are more centered in the room. The staff were perfectly friendly and I heard another customer ask if they could switch the music and the staff were so kind. I got a turmeric latte, and I have to say it maybe had too much pepper? But not a huge deal. I think I would try something the next time I came back. It is near the Highlands and street parking, so it can be tricky during a busy time. Luckily I went on a Sunday afternoon and it was easy to find parking right nearby.

Yelp
The staff was amazing .. super sweet and great to help me out ... The location is great ..it's in the middle of a town and loves how it was just in this old brick building .. looks like history... Umm the coffee was okay , nothing special , I am a huge supporter in these small mom and pop shops ... but there was just no flavor at all ...

Yelp
Visited Denver for a long weekend and the amazing fall menu drew me in... Came in to Pinwheel around 7am on a Friday and this coffee shop was BUSY! Seems like a lot of locals who were familiar with staff frequented the shop, which was great to see. Not pictured, I ordered the truffle veggie sandwich and brown sugar oat latte. Super satisfying on a brisk morning. I loved the latte so much I had to get a coffee to go! My second drink was the pumpkin chai spiced cold brew. I'm not a huge chai fan but the cold foam was amazing. So happy I was able to pop in during my time in Denver! Staff and locals were friendly, interior was bright and welcoming. Such a lovely coffee shop!

Yelp
Popped in for a coffee meet up with a friend. We happened in here because the original cafe we wanted to go to was closed. But a blessing in disguise. The interior is very cute spacious since there's an additional room. Very chill and cute vive. I got the bacon egg sandwich and a honey almond latte. Pretty good. Service was prompt and friendly service. I liked this place and I would come back again solo or with my buddies. Good place to visit.

Yelp
Got their peppermint mocha with oat milk and it was great! My partner got a vanilla latte and he finished it very fast it was so good!

Yelp
Amazing coffee every time I go and lovely little cafe. The staff remembers my order and always take time to catch up.

Yelp
Yumm I love coffee! This place is huge, would be fantastic if you work remote and want to ge tour of the house

Yelp
Cute coffee shop attached to a bike shop. Something I haven't seen since I lived in Chicago 6 years ago. LOVE IT! When I walked in I immediately felt the community here. While I was traveling and not a local, I still felt very welcome. They have breakfast items and pastries to fill your belly, tons of seating, and their coffee is from local roasters. I also read that it's student-run, which is dope. I ordered an iced matcha and it was perfect for the hot morning we were having. Over the weekend my fellow travelers also order coffee and breakfast burritos from here. We were all pleased. If you need a pick me up, I have no doubt that Pinwheel Coffee will do you good.

Yelp
CUTE COFFEE SHOP! Such a vibe. Ambiance: Smells amazing, very clean, solid bathrooms, colorful, music is very good. Welcoming of diverse identities. And a good amount of seating! Also so bright inside! Service: The staff was very nice and friendly. Quick too! Coffee: YUM! So many good options. Your simple wants but also your more fun drinks too! I'll definitely be back.

Yelp
What a cute, little, neighborhood coffee shop. They also sell Bonfire Burritos, which I paired with a honey almond cinnamon latte. Will definitely be including this in my LoHi Airbnb's guest book recommendations! Perfect local, cozy vibe.

Yuri V.

Yelp
Starting off by saying only one drink we ordered was delicious the chocolate chai with orange cold foam. The other drink we ordered was a cinnamon latte which had no flavor and tasted like water down coffee. We asked for the coffees for here and were given in to go cups. Not sure if the staff were having a bad morning but I didn't get the homely feeling when we first walked in. It was more of a Starbucks feel from the staff. Unfortunate experience will continue to go to other local coffee shops instead, especially for the price I would like for all my drinks to be made with high quality.

Richard G.

Yelp
Awesome experience. I am not from here so I just let the barista recommend everything and she gave me all her favorites. Matcha and a cherry cheese danish. Thank you!

Yelp
The cutest little coffee shop in the highland neighborhood! I've been wanting to come here for some time and I finally got to stop by Saturday morning. The inside decor was super cute and there was plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. I got the season cobbler chia and it was delicious! I recommend getting one before they stop serving it! I really want to come back to enjoy one of their signature coffees. Pinwheel also had pastry's for sale which also looked very tasty!
google avatar

Sophie W.

Yelp
Great coffee and vibe. Definitely a super hipster / Denver coffee spot, LOL! Will be back!!

Yelp
My latte was meh. Also there was a literal child there working... on a Tuesday... in April... so yeah that was weird.
google avatar

Savanna B.

Yelp
This place is super cute, clean, and friendly. I've been in twice so far, both times in the late afternoon so I've yet to sample the coffee. That said, they have yummy iced tea and lemonade! Eventually I'm going to make it in earlier....they also have a variety of homemade chais that look divine and their pastry looks flaky and creative. They're definitely not one of those coffee shops that seem to proliferate selling sad soggy treats. I've found Pinwheel to be a nice place to read or get some work done. They play fantastic music but not so loud that you can't concentrate and their space is bright and full of light.
google avatar

Aundya A.

Yelp
Great coffee shop in LoHi! They make their own chai -- highly recommend trying that and their chai cold brew.

Janelle G.

Yelp
Always amazing .... Top notch service ... LOVE it ~ you guys ~ thanks for making the best spicy in house chai !! You are the only ones in town to smash !!!
google avatar

Lydia A.

Yelp
Such a cute spot, easily accessible but not nearly as jam-packed with people as some spots around Denver. The menu isn't huge but the options are great. Highly recommend the apple pie chaider on their season menu - so good and unique.
google avatar

Sofie D.

Yelp
Drip Coffee: 7/10 - lots of options with lots of in-house items! Vibe: 8/10 bright and airy, free WiFi Service: 10/10 - really friendly staff

Yelp
My wife and I have loved Pinwheel since we first started visiting Denver in 2019. Two years later, it's still a favorite, excellent craft and service in a neighborhood we love. The staff is super friendly and kind, supportive and connected to the neighborhood. The food options are solid as well, and don't sleep on those Alternative Baking Company cookies! But, you're here for the coffee! And it is exceptional, from the cortado to the chai cold brew, there's something at top shelf quality for everyone! We will continue to be back when we visit.
google avatar

Yelp
I rarely use the word "gem" on Yelp, but that's exactly what Pinwheel Coffee is. I've definitely been to restaurants and bars in this area. Somehow I've missed checking out one of the coolest concepts around. Read about this student-led entrepreneurial experience on their website. It'll make you feel more thrilled to support this business, as well as Embark Education. I ordered a Chai Spiced Cold Brew at the counter, where customer service is phenomenal. Didn't get a chance to try any food items (or seasonal drinks) so I'll have to do that next time. I sat indoors and tried not to get distracted by the colorful and creative décor around the café. Be calmed by the thoughtfulness and care that went into this space. Lovely experience overall!
google avatar

Yelp
Nothing I love more than a local coffee shop and Pinwheel definitely hits the mark! The baristas are all so friendly and their drinks are delicious. I heard about the seasonal peach cobbler chai from a friend and had to try it. They have seating in side and some cute seating outside as well so I opted on ordering my drink "for here" so I could sit down and enjoy it. The peach cobbler chai was delicious and I ordered a pumpkin chocolate chip scone to go with it! I've also tried their brown sugar latte and enjoyed that just as much. I can't wait for their seasonal horchata latte to come back, it's one of my favorites!

John H.

Yelp
Best chai and coffee my wife and I have ever had with very friendly professional service in an upbeat atmosphere!
google avatar

Gomez A.

Yelp
I don't know these folks, but when I walked in the first time, I felt as if I did. The quality could not be improved. The service could not be improved. They're clean. It smells good; like good coffee and good food. And I keep forgetting to throw my bike in the trunk so the shop next door can fix the rim.
google avatar

Kermeka D.

Yelp
Dropped by here to get some work done for a few hours on a Friday morning. The music is at a really great low volume for focusing. There is a cute bike shop connected to the coffee shop which feels very Denver and we loved it! The coffee itself was really good as was their handmade raspberry pistachio poptart. I'd definitely recommend this coffee shop to anyone in the area :)
google avatar

Joelle L.

Yelp
Came by after searching for a coffee shop to visit in the highlands and Pinwheel did not disappoint. It's not too loud inside, has lots of different seating options and a variety of coffee drinks with homemade syrups if that's what you're into. I was greeted the minute I walked in the door, and the staff was super helpful and cheery. They have all the coffee staples, but use their specials to offer some more unique drinks. Their pastry selection is different compared to most other coffee shops and they do have some good GF/vegan options such as their popster and bundt cake. I'll probably be back more often than I'm willing to admit though....

Denice Y.

Yelp
Very cute coffee shop. Coffee, pastries and service all excellent. I love to walk here when I am visiting my daughter.
google avatar

Yelp
I stopped by Pinwheel Coffee on a Saturday morning while on a search to find somewhere to get work done -- Pinwheel is definitely a gem. The shop was quiet enough to get work done and focus, and offers free high speed wifi. I went with an iced americano and really enjoyed it -- barely needed any milk or sugar. I also really appreciated the eco efforts of glassware and compostable straws. The baristas were friendly, welcoming, and quick!
google avatar

Yelp
Great atmosphere and the mission behind the coffee and bike shop are pretty amazing too. Staff was friendly and the coffee was not too sweet for a mocha that I drank. Definitely a must visit if you're in the area and support a great cause.

Yelp
So sad that we didn't find them until our last day in town but better late than never! We are self proclaimed cold foam lovers, we were so happy to see this offered! We got the campfire cold brew and iced rocky road latte, so yummy! We've tried several coffee shops in the area and this is definitely the best! Plenty of indoor and outdoor seating, not to mention the staff were some of the friendliest people we've encountered here!
google avatar

Yelp
Great place to go in the Highlands. When I was there last week, they were serving two local roasters' coffees: Queen City and Middle State, one lighter roast and one medium. I found them both enjoyable, which is a bit of a surprise -- often I find light roasts unpleasantly acidic. They chose and/or brewed their coffees well. If bar drinks are more your thing, they have a variety of interesting lattes (none of which suffered from the Starbucks problem of being nondescript sugary milkshakes). The chai lattes in particular are pleasantly spicy and not overly sweet. Their latte art is also on-point. The physical environment is quite nice; tables were close enough that it felt like you were in a place with the rest of humanity, but not so close you were up in everyone else's business. They also have a good selection of pastries, as well as a good selection of breakfast-y foods which made it an appealing place to start the day.
google avatar

Hannah R.

Yelp
The food and coffee were great! It was a little loud, but nothing outrageous. It's right next to a bike store with a super cute dog as well! My only complaint was that the burrito took a long time, but everyone was very nice!
google avatar

Lauren B.

Yelp
Love love love their almond cinnamon honey latte. This is a great spot to meet a friend or get some work done as well. I always get an energy boost from the staff as well as the coffee and they always make you feel at home!
google avatar

Stephanie S.

Yelp
Cute coffee shop with yummy drinks and treats. I ordered the house chai. It was not too sweet and had just the right amount of spice. Boyfriend got an iced coffee that he really enjoyed. We shared a carrot cake scone that paired well with our drinks!
google avatar

Tori C.

Yelp
Since moving to Denver, I've been trying to find the best coffee spots around the city. I accidentally came across Pinwheel today as another coffee shop down the street was so crowded there was nowhere to sit and do work. However, Pinwheel ended up surpassing my expectations. They had an amazing rose kombucha from upslope on tap and it was reasonably priced. I ended up just going with the kombucha because it was so good. The coffee shop is huge and has a long row of seating with big windows, creating a really nice environment. The barista was really nice and allowed me to sample drinks. He also talked about the shop having a partnership with local schools, teaching them how to make drinks and how to run a business. Pinwheel has a big fan in me and I'll be sure to head back to try more of their drinks!
google avatar

Emma C.

Yelp
Drinks are good and love the atmosphere and location. Food has not been impressive so far, the croissants specifically were not great in our opinion. Love love love the mango green tea, so we will continue to return and give other menu options a try.
google avatar

Harold H.

Yelp
Ordered a hot chocolate on Dec 23 when it was 6 degrees out that morning. Was very disappointed with the way it came out. It was lukewarm at best and I could mostly taste the milk with only the slightest hint of chocolate. I know I know.. I ordered hot chocolate at a coffee shop but I already had my fix of caffeine before I stopped by. I was dropping off a buddy to the airport so I didn't really have any time to go back and ask for a remake. The pastries were the saving grace of my visit.

Kelsey T.

Yelp
The brown sugar oat latte might be seasonal, but I hope it hangs around because it is so darn tasty! Staff was friendly and welcoming, and the ambiance is such a vibe with the connected bike shop. If you're in the area and need a coffee, stop in, support local, and enjoy

Yelp
I really wanted to like Pinwheel - but it was just okay. They have a great vibe and ambiance, but there were a couple of things that threw me off. The place kind of overwhelmed me with a strong chai odor. It's not terrible if you're cool with it, but it was a bit of a surprise. The negative part of my experience that's worth nothing was that I ordered an americano, and the person asked if I wanted it iced or hot, and I said, "hot." It came iced. It's not a big deal, and it tasted fine - but that was a bit off-putting. Outside of that, there's plenty of indoor and outdoor seating considering the space, and parking was relatively easy. I noticed they did get some of their beans from Middle State, and another roaster that I can't recall.
google avatar

Lexi F.

Yelp
They had me from the moment I walked in with a sign advertising their eggnog chai. I am not a coffee drinker and menus tend to get pretty boring when it comes to other options - the eggnog chai was SO good I wanted another. The drink could have been a touch warmer, but the flavors were delicious and the staff was so friendly! The place has a cute atmosphere with seating. Very fun stop, I look forward to coming back!

Yelp
Even before you enter, the smell of cinnamon, nutmeg, and clove let's you know there are nice treats to be had. There's a bar with stools that faces onto the street, a couple of recycled club chairs with a table between, and several 4-top round chairs with 50's style chrome and vinyl upholstery. I grew up sitting in one like this at mealtime. There's also a room divider made from old windows that makes a nook with two good-sized tables. There is a bucket filled with Dry-erase markers and eraser attached to one of the windows that has been made opaque. Using the windows as a whiteboard lets you turn these ten seats into an impromptu team meeting area. Loads of light from the street, as well as low-voltage spots back here. As for the foodstuffs - we stopped in for coffee after flying in from RDU and driving around town getting acclimated to the time zone. My cappuccino was the best I've had in years - perfect micro foam, tasty espresso. Nice retro aqua blue cup to boot! The Lovely Bride took one sip of her latte and you'd have thought she was transported back to Italy for a second or two. Then the Hawaiian soundtrack brought her back. Her next words were, "We'll be back here." Yeah...
google avatar

Heather C.

Yelp
Pinwheel coffee is a great low-key coffee spot on the edge of the Highlands. It has never been very crowded when I've been there (just the way I like it- you can hear yourself think!), and there are lots of different types of seating for whatever you're feeling. I like sitting at the bar at the window to watch everyone walking along the street. The staff is always very welcoming and friendly, and they have free WiFi. They have a good latte, with a few different homemade syrup flavors if you're looking for something sweet, and their cold brew is spot on as well. It's a great place to hang out!
google avatar

Cherie C.

Yelp
Great coffee, free wifi, a good mission...all in a comfortable, Instagrammable setting. There's lots to like here. The shop was planned, built, and is run by high school students, and they are doing it right. Students designed everything, I'm told. The wall of rainbow pinwheels is delightful, and is a perfect backdrop. (I really need to take more photos.) My iced latte coffee was good. They use Middle State, a great CO roaster. It was a nice iced treat on a hot day. I used their wifi to get some work done but was on my way pretty quickly. I look forward to coming back and lingering over a specialty coffee drink. They have some fun specials.
google avatar

Nichole T.

Yelp
Love this surprise in my day. Found myself in the neighborhood asking Siri her best coffee shop recommendation and up pops directions to Pinwheel. Great find! Cappuccino was hot and served not only with a smile but a swirly heart. Asked about the homemade pop tarts and got a thumbs up. Vegan cinnamon pop tart is worth the trip across town. Yum! This spot features local artist's works on the wall you can buy or just admire. The artsy neighborhood vibe is fun and on a quiet Sat I found a good spot on a comfy couch to catch up on email and plan my day.
google avatar

Julie N.

Yelp
Very cute decor! Bar-style seating along the window has plenty of outlets, but otherwise the outlets are few and hard to find. They have free WiFi so it's great for getting work done and having meetings at. They have a handful of food and sweet treats available - their macarons are better than the alfajores. But the alfajores come in twos so that's nice. They have a variety of tea options in addition to coffee, too, and the almond tea is light, pink in color, and fantastic. Best part of this place is that is it run by two Montessori schools so kids learn how to run a business. Awesome concept and great execution. They are running this business better than a lot of cafes I've been to! Lots to be proud of. Bike parking right outside, and plenty of street parking available.

Mobina A.

Yelp
I was staying across the street at a hotel and stopped by the coffee shop each day I was there. It is the perfect corner coffee shop. Their chai latte was great and I indulged in their croissant breakfast sandwich which was exceptional. Lots of variety in their seating choices. I personally loved the high top table and barstool style seating towards the front of the shop. It's a fun little perch to people watch. I wish I had a place like Pinwheel in my own town.

Yelp
More cool projects like this, Denver! Needed a place to recaffeinate and kill 45 minutes between meetings and found this coffee shop on Yelp. Parking was super easy and the shop itself is spacious, clean, and quiet. They've got a pretty extensive coffee and tea menu (I just need the basics) as well as some sodas, sparkly waters, and snacks. They've got free, fast wifi and lots of tables, bar stools, and a few couches for working or meeting. The really rad thing about this shop? The whole thing is a project by the local Montessori middle and high schools. The friendly barista told me about how the students did everything from work with the real estate agents to pick the furniture inside. I think this is such a cool learning experience and probably better than what you might be able to learn in some business schools. Totally support everything that's going on here and will definitely be back!
