Delicious food ❤️ Beautiful place. Very clean. Good prices for the amount and the quality of the food.

Today may have been the worst customer service experience I’ve had in recent memory. I love Pio Pio. I have eaten here dozens of times over probably at least 10 years. We were seated as soon as we walked in, and ordered our food shortly thereafter. She brought us our drinks, and then we sat at our table and watched food being served to THREE other parties who arrived to the restaurant AFTER us. I don’t know if the waitress forgot to put in our order, but every time we were able to get her to make eye contact with us, she said, “Food is coming,” in an exasperated manner. There was nothing complicated about our order, so it didn’t make sense. 40-45 minutes after we arrived, she brought us our plates, one or two plates at a time. She never apologized to us or even acknowledged that we had sat there for 40 minutes watching other people who arrived after us eat the same food we had just ordered. Waitresses and waiters are humans, and we all have bad days and we all make mistakes. What would have made this entire experience different would have been for the waitress to even acknowledge or apologize for our wait. Her indifference to us was frankly bizarre. I don’t know if it was a language barrier or what, but it wasn’t cool, and it ruined the whole experience. I eat out at least once a week, seated at a table interacting with a waiter or waitress, and this was the worst experience I can remember. The $8 salad I had was delicious, as was the $10 beans and rice. This won’t keep me from waiting here again - it’s one of my favorite restaurants - but it was disappointing. I hate leaving a negative review for a place that I actually LOVE, but this was unacceptable.

I've been twice and tried the quarter chicken and the montanero (bandeja paisa). Both dishes were delicious and have good portion sizes. For the montanero, I asked for no avocado and the waiter generously offered me extra plantains. Tres leches is also good.

I am from NyC and loved Pio Pio in nyc. The best Latin food ever. Moved to Charlotte almost a year ago and was excited to find it here. The food I ate four months ago in this location was great and on point. I got the same Latin combo for a family and it was not. The rice amount was smaller. The rice had no flavor. The beans had no flavor and they were still hard so they weren’t cooked long enough. It tasted like beans and water. The chicken was ok and the plaintains were good. Casava fries were very hard no taste. I didn’t try the salad yet. Spent $37 and the food was not tasting how it tasted months ago. The beans looked different as well like straight out of a can and added onions and seasoning in the gravy. I don’t think I will go back any time soon

Small cozy place. The wait time for the waiter to order is great. Ordered the areas con queso, grilled chicken, and carne asada. To drink, I ordered the mango juice. The chicken is too thin and over cooked. The rice and beans and maduros were on point. The arepas were ok. The steak didn't really have any seasoning. Maybe I ordered the wrong thing. I more than likely won't give this place a second chance.

I have been coming to Pio Pio for years because the food is normally tasty. However the customer Service has always been more bad than good and the communication is hard due to the lack of English. Tonight the food was at best a 3 out of 5 and the customer service was horrible. Came across racist. I will not be returning the food is not good enough to keep having to deal with horrible service.

My husband and I came here for dinner. We both ordered the roast chicken set which comes with 3 sides. Chicken was very tasty & the side portions were surprisingly large. And all for a reasonable price. They have a wide selection of alcoholic drinks though we just ordered sodas as we have a long drive home. Would definitely dine here again when we come back to Charlotte.

The food was so good I didn’t get to take a picture of it. Amanda was my server she was super sweet. The interior of the restaurant is very clean. The food also came out quickly.
